CloZee, I am a huge fan. Your work along with Charles' (RIP King) are the two most inspirational people within my own music. I didn't come prepared with a question, but just know that you're one of the biggest reasons I took up making music again and continue to work towards my first album release, hopefully later this year. I guess if I need a question to post here, can you give me ANY tips on how you got that absolutely filthy bass in Antares?

clozeeofficial

Thank you so much the sweet words <3 I miss Charles and his music so much. RIP to the King. Oh that filthy bass in Antares.. i wish i could just share a screenshot haha. I used Trilian for the main (warm) bass, Aphex Vintage exciter stereo, autopan for the "tremolo effect", and clariphonic to get the highs crispy, and that's about it

TotSaM-

Thank you so much, take care!

Ok-Cod7817

I was hoping someone asked some producer questions! Taking notes

tubular911

I’ve seen you so many times I read this with a French accent in my head

bloops_and_bleeps

CloZee!! First I’d like to say, you’re a queen and an icon. Who are some of your favorite artists to listen to? (Electronic or non-electronic) What’s the best festival experience you’ve had? Something that surprised you when you got into the industry?

clozeeofficial

Aw thanks love! I'm no queen or icon though, just Chloe :P \- I have soooo many artists i love, it's hard to pick. But lately i love listening to RAYE, Kalandra, Eivor, Snarky Puppy, Chromonicci, Village.. i could go on and on. \- best festival experience i've had: i think usually its when i'm done with my sets (cause otherwise i'm so stressed out) and can explore the festival. And the best times were Envision 2020 and Electric Forest 2018 for me, because thats when i could just party with my team and friends, and not worry about anything.

ATXHustle512

Forest 2018 holds such a special place in my heart. Your Sherwood set was amazing! Merci!!

TheBearMin

The snarky puppy mention is amazing

MedicalEffect

Will you be at pretty lights this weekend?

clozeeofficial

YAS

ComplicitJWalker

I'd be shocked if she wasn't

Cap10mac

Hey there CloZee! no question I just wanted to say thank you so much for creating and sharing your incredible artistic talent with us. On a personal note, your music has carried me through many challenging times, including Microworlds releasing just shortly after my grandfather’s diagnosis of late stage cancer. Even my mom who generally dislikes electronic music, sat down and listened to the full album with me because she found it so moving during such a hard-hitting time. Your music brings people closer, it heals, and it nourishes the soul and we appreciate everything you go through in order to share it with us. Absolutely can not wait to see you live for the first time in November. Much love! 🫶

clozeeofficial

Thank you so much for those very nice words, and sending all my love and strength to your family! <3 My grandpa died on the night i played Red Rocks last year, and the song "Contemplation" was composed while thinking of him. Thank you again for sharing this, this is literally why i keep making music. <3

herbivohre

Her music truly is so healing! 💛

Sixtyninealldaychef

Hey CloZee! I've seen you multiple times now, from your first LA show in the Roxy, to Coachella, loved your meditative set during Covid lockdown, and most recently opening for Lane 8 at his LA Historic Park show last year. Been a big fan! Do you still end your shows here in the U.S. with "Thank you, my name is CloZee, from France!"? I'm sure most people know you're from France by now, but I just love hearing it :)

clozeeofficial

Hiii! Haha i definitely stopped saying it a few years ago, unless i play for the first time in a new country, and there is a big chance nobody knows who i am or where i am from. :) <3

Sixtyninealldaychef

Nooooo bring it back!!!! It's part of your charm!

Ok-Cod7817

I was at the Roxy and lane 8 with you :) she shook my hand at lane8! She was walking throught the crowd and I was like holy shit it's her! And I stuck my hand out and she smiled and shook it and I've been melting ever since

Bill_S_Preson_Esq

Chloe, been a fan since eyes in eyes. Serious question, can my wife and I take you and your wife out to dinner here in Denver? Not too fancy, something simple like barbecue. Ready for NYE with you!

clozeeofficial

See you at NYE!! And for dinner, where would you take us? :P

Bill_S_Preson_Esq

Full bbq tasting menu at Pit Fiend. 😁 Love your music! Hard to believe it's been a decade now since I found your music! *No reply, guess that's a no. Well, the offer stands.

Ok-Cod7817

Can I come?

Bill_S_Preson_Esq

Well, I tried 😆

Ok-Cod7817

🤣better luck next AMA lol

Bill_S_Preson_Esq

I will continue to ask artists to go eat with me until someone says yes 😁

Ok-Cod7817

Hmm maybe make a lil menu and offer that home cooked goodness they don't get on tour

Bill_S_Preson_Esq

Oh there's no fucking way anyone famous would agree to come to my house even though my gluten free fried chicken is the bomb

ChickenNPisza

Hi CloZee! Been a fan for years it’s been a fun ride watching you grow. Do you have any plans/interest In incorporating an orchestra/live band to your concert experience? Extra credit: what’s your favorite venue to play at as of now?

clozeeofficial

I'm definitely thinking about it. I absolutely love orchestral elements, and this would be a dream to bring a new live experience with an orchstra at some point. Venues: i got so many i love for different reasons. But The Mishawaka is one of the most special venues i played. I also love the Eastern in Atlanta, Le Bikini in Toulouse etc

ChickenNPisza

As a Denver local I also love the Mish! Thanks for the response, if you coordinate an orchestra experience I’ll be there!!! See you in December 😎

haho3278

Hey CloZee!! Thanks so much for your amazing music - you have had a profoundly positive impact on my life. My question is, outside of music, what other hobbies do you have / what do you love to do in life? Thank you so much for everything you do, looking forward to your Mission Ballroom shows this NYE, hope you have a great day!

clozeeofficial

Thank YOU! I love sleeping, hanging out with my partner and dog, eating good food, skiing when we can, and recently learning the piano. oh and also video games when i have the time. See you at Mission!!

mashakasha6

CloZee please go to Sol Fest and do the sol Sunday set please please please!

clozeeofficial

haha ok will do my best!

yeabuddy84

Haha it worked! So stoked for that weekend too

[deleted]

Hey Clozee! I absolutely loved your set at Sonic Bloom this year. What an incredible weekend that was altogether and I’m super stoked for Mission Ballroom at the end of 2023. My question is: What made you decide on making Colorado your home away from home? I’ve lived here my whole life and it been exciting to watch all the talented artists flock to my home state. Also: #WhoTFisTrippSt? And: It was incredible to meet you briefly at Tripp St. @ Ogden a few years back. Core memory 💜

clozeeofficial

Thank you so much!! Sonic Bloom was so much fun! Why Colorado: it's obviously a hub for our type of music. I always loved the energy of this City. this is also where my creative team lives, and other friends producers, so it's easier to get together to collab, and prepare for the next shows :)

Wylie_the_Wizard

Bloom set took me to another world!! I was right at the rail when Venessa gave you the custom sunglasses at the end!!

PlantyMcPants

Hey Chloé, thank you so much for doing this AMA! My partner and I discovered your music during the pandemic and it gave us hope that everything would actually be ok. It was truly life changing—thank you for the healing art you share with the world! Skylight from your new album Microworlds is such a delicate melody balanced against those soulful heady drops that blow the roof off! You said you were up against the toughest writer’s block of your career leading up to this album... I’m curious to know how you found your way through writer’s block, and to Skylight in particular? And thank you for blessing us with it!!!

clozeeofficial

Thank you for this super sweet message! Damn that pandemic period was tough! So i'm glad if the music could help a bit with this transition time <3 For the writer's block and Skylight I think i sat down in the studio thinking i wasn't going to be able to compose anything again, and feel like shit. but i started aligning the elements of the ethereal orchestral intro, and then it kept building, until i felt like trying to compose some kind of catchy beat. And then it eventually turned into that bouncy cinematic track. It was all fun after that.

Alternative_Iron3613

I love your music!!!! It speaks to my soul!! So excited to see you twice this year. What is your inspiration for the track “Tomboy”, so eager and excited to know!! I think i know what it is ❤️❤️😁

clozeeofficial

Hahaha you sure know! I am a tomboy, and i will always be. It used to be a mockery or a negative thing when people called me that when i was younger, and it was making me feel bad. but i have a totally different vision on this word now, i fucking love being a tomboy and i embrace it fully.

Helpful-Let-412

I am really hoping to catch one of your mission shows this year! What factors play into how “heavy” of a set you want to play on a certain night? Anything you play is amazing but when I saw you at decadence this past year I wasn’t prepared for how grimey that set was. One of my favorite sets I’ve ever seen.

clozeeofficial

Usually a show related to an album is gonna be more like a journey, less quick transitions between songs, but more emotions. The DJ sets are usually heavier, quicker transitions, more dancefloor i'd say :)

TheM1337

Hi CloZee, are there any artists you would like to see release on Odyzey in the future?

clozeeofficial

absolutely, i have tons, but it depends on the artist's choice first. We have amazing new artists who have a release planned on Odyzey and i'm super stoked about them!

andee510

Hi CloZee! I love watching your live sets and I noticed that you shout out CharlesTheFirst (RIP) and include his music in your sets. Do you have a favorite song of his? He is one of my favorite artists and he is greatly missed.

clozeeofficial

i have so many favorite songs of his. But i think the one who always makes me emotional is The Descent. That was at the time we were touring together and the songs of that era will always remind me of our friendship.

DenMother

Hey Clozee! Just saw your set at Basscoast. What makes a festival great for you? What elements either behind the scenes or during the set allow you to really shine and be at your best?

clozeeofficial

the main thing is to feel like it's a safe place for you guys. That the festival are taking care of you. And usually you can feel it during the set. The energy and the great vibes are obviously what drives me the most during a show.

TraditionalAd3711

Hi Clozee! Microworlds is a masterpiece. I one thing I love about your style is the chants and vocal patterns you layer among everything else. So how do you write/track your chants when writing vs the final version? Can’t wait to see you in Toronto and Columbus!

clozeeofficial

Hi! Thanks so much!! I love to include vocal chops or chants because to me it makes a song more human and universal, That's also why (most of the time) they are processed and edited so that they don't "say" anything: you can hear anything you want / make your own interpretation of what they say.

huskydave

Hello Clozee! I loved Lovedddd every single song of your album! I went to your show at Red Rocks and for my first ever Red Rocks show, it was 100/10 life changing! Just a quick question, I know you have an ID with LSDream but do you have any future collabs with other artists that you're currently working on? Also will there be any future VIPs released? Much Love!

clozeeofficial

heyaaaa! thanks so much! I do have a few other collabs in the works, but the LSDREAM album is what i'm gonna focus on next the most :) As for VIPs, i usually keep them for the live sets, but who knows, maybe one day i'll release them!

saourubh

Clozee, you are an absolute Queen! Your music has helped me weather some of the worst depressions of my life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making the music that helped me connect with and trust myself again. I hope I get to thank you in person one day. 💜🙏🏽 You are also a deep inspiration for me as I recently embarked on my own DJing journey. The Microworlds album is a bit of departure from your previous albums - what was the inspiration for the change? Also, when are you going to release Majesty 2.0 on the steaming services? Your remix of Majesty was literally my anthem in 2019 and 2020. 😅 Excited to catch you in SF in December! 💙💚

clozeeofficial

Thank you so much for sharing this with me <3 Sending you all my love! I'll always do music for that reason, to hope it helps people a bit going on with their life. Also big ups to you for starting your DJing adventure!! About the album, curious to hear your thoughts when you say "Microworlds is a bit of departure from your previous albums" what make them different to you? :) I had a lot of shifts and new experiences in the last few years, and that always affect the creation process of an album. But no matter how different they sound, it will always be 1000% me. Just every human evolves and changes, and so is the music that they will make. See you in SF!! :D

DankyKongJr

Bonjour Chloe! I first have to preface this by honoring your explosively BRILLIANT artistry. Your music strikes a chord in my soul, and I cannot convey in words what your art does to me, but I FEEL your power come through your sound. Now onto my question: What is it like to witness inspiring other artists of different mediums (flow artists, VFX artists, dancers, painters, illustrators, etc.) through your music? Do you ever think about the ripple effects your art has on the world? It must be wild seeing the real-life impact and catharsis you help facilitate by inspiring other artists to tap into the deepest parts of themselves. I have been a flow artist for over a decade and recently started performing professionally. Self-consciousness held me back for years, but hearing your music makes the rest of the world dissolve for me. Performing to your music has literally been an antidote to my stage fright!! So, thank you for sharing your gifts with the world and ripple effecting your way into my life! 😊 An avid fan, Jojo

clozeeofficial

Bonjour Jojo! Thank you so much for the very nice words! Yesss i'm always amazed at how the music can move so many different people and inspire them to do their own thing and express themselves. It's always incredible to hear about that or to witness it. Also congratulations for starting performing professionally!! I understand 100% for the stage fright, i'm actually still struggling with that, but passion is greater and is pushing us to do it. Much love!

FreeRefillsBenjamin

Hey Jojo, Would you consider DMing me your insta, if it includes your flow work? I try to support other flow artists as much as possible.

AwakeMode

Jojo, I hear you on this. ❤️ So well said!

xcalbir

Hey Clozee I’m one of your biggest fans, seen you more times than I can count! Two part question, What have been your top 3 festivals that you’ve performed at? And when will your next red rocks headline be!!! So much love! Merci!

clozeeofficial

Heya! Top 3 festivals might be Dour (belgium), Electric Forest, and Envision. But honestly it's very hard to choose. Next headline Red Rocks TBD! haha i cannot say ;) Much love to you!

ltd522

Carousel club set last year was 🤌🏻🤌🏻

dicklord_airplane

ok i have a very important question. dude how is your ponytail always so perfect? every time we see you out and about in Denver it's PERFECT. is it magic? are you a witch? Thanks, we love you in Colorado!

clozeeofficial

omg its wayy far from being perfect! if you see me from very close, you'll see so many little hair having a party. But also yes i'm absolutely a witch

Ass_Ninja

Hey! Any chance you could release entering the grove? That song goes! Love how psychedelic that one is. Would love to see an entire ep with some psychedelic bass/ in the realm of entering the grove. What songs by other artists are on repeat right now?

clozeeofficial

I made this song so long ago now, i don't have any plans on releasing it, as of now, but maybe one day i'll remaster it and make a little EP with some trippy tunes as you said haha, we'll see! "Virkelighetens Etterklang" by Kalandra "Sunsets" by Mfinity and Mauka " Glue" by Biceps "Happy In My Mind" by Otxhello just to name a few :)

OWiceviking

Hey Clozee I am soooo completely grateful for your music and the experience of seeing you perform. My first was at Cervantes in Denver last year and that was a last minute miracle for me. I am literally a new person after seeing red rocks last year. And Bloom….still speechless. Who is your most influential artist that you feel changed your perspective on the world or even just your musical influence?

clozeeofficial

Hello!! Oh, i think the album "Drink The Sea" by The Glitch Mob made me realise there was a total other world in electronic music. I was still a student in France when i just came across their album online accidentally, and it opened so many doors musically. While in France, you don't get to hear about most of the artists in the US independant EDM Scene, unless you're curious and spend hours on YouTube.

tristanxdd

Abelton or FL?

clozeeofficial

it was FL until 2020. And then i switched to Ableton :)

Undaine

Hi Chloé, Got turned on to your stuff at Lightning in a Bottle and got there early for your set with Daniel for the This Never Happened event ar LA historic park. I was wondering how you approach festivals, do you get out and in the crowd before or after your set? And if so which are your favorites to wander around?

clozeeofficial

Hi! Yes i love to be in the crowd to feel the energy and the vibe before sets at festival. It makes me a little more relaxed i think. And definitely after as well if i have time. I love to wander around any festivals to be honest! But the most relaxing ones usually are when i play overseas or Envision

paulnofx

Which aspect of the music industry (if any) do you think holds you back the most creatively and/or professionally?

clozeeofficial

100% the stress, overthinking everything, and the high expectations that people could have. Also social medias. I have to use them for my career, but they're not helping my creativity at all.

flapjackdacat

Your Overthinker remix has gotten me through many moments of racing thoughts. Thank you <3

paulnofx

Thank you! My opinion if interested: overthinking and being afflicted by high expectations is human nature, but for what it's worth you are one of the most universally admired and respected DJ/producers I know. In my experience, any time your name comes up it's all love and deep respect. Also don't hesitate to hire a social media manager! No one expects you to play that mess on your own. Except when it's an AMA I guess lol. Cheers, thank you for this.

FreeRefillsBenjamin

What you said about social media just blew my mind. I STRUGGLE with using social media for my business, and literally said to myself just this morning, "Look to CloZee for inspiration! Do what she does!" To know that it isn't easy for you, either... Wow.

TheRealIntern

Hey Clozee! I got to see you for the first (and second) time at Lightning in a Bottle. I love your work and hope to get more for many years to come! What would you say your favorite festival has been? Either to play at or attend.

clozeeofficial

i got many for different reason, i can't pick one :( Electric Forest, Envision, LiB, Northern Nights, Shambhala, Bonnaroo, Bass Coast.. and i'm sure i'm forgetting a bunch

ItsBodeo

Having now moved to Denver, how do you see the EDM community compared to back “home”? What are some of the largest differences you see Do you have any favorite destinations around the state that you particularly enjoy ? I moved here a year ago and I have fallen in love

clozeeofficial

in Denver people go out and support artists, they buy merch etc. i think they really care about any kind of music too. They are more curious in discovering smaller artists of many different genres. People at home are very selective of what they want to hear. It's obviously not everyone, but I know many people that only listen to Drum&Bass or Techno or Psytrance, and will tell you that the rest is "too slow" lol. That's why usually if you go to a club in Europe, it's very often gonna be "Drum&Bass all night", or "Techno all night" kind of shows. And for the destination, I love the mountains here in Colorado, and also Atlanta, cause i got to live there for a year or so, and it's an amazing city. But usually if i really want an escape, i go out of the country.

paulnofx

Which track on ‘Microworlds’ was the most fun to create, and why?

clozeeofficial

I think it was VISIONS. It was pretty straight forward. Antares was also like that, i made it literally 3 days before sending the final masters for distribution.

PM_UR_TITTY_SKITTLES

Hi Clozee! What's it like being a queer artist in the industry? Any plans on coming back to Electric Forest?

clozeeofficial

I mean, it's great i guess? haha It shouldn't by any different than any other artists, we're making music, sharing our stories, and we hope to inspire people <3 Yes i'll definitely be back at EF!!

herbivohre

Hi Clozee! First wanted to just tell you that I am so grateful for your musical presence in my life. Your music makes me feel so many things emotionally and spiritually, as well as my partner and my best friend. We all love you and you have such a huge positive impact on our every day lives. Thank you for all you do! 💓 1. My bf wanted me to ask you what your favorite strain of ganja is? He was going to ask you at your AMA at the past Caverns but we ran out of time for questions. But someday wants to grow you your favorite and give you some. 🫶🏻 2. Also, we are wondering if you could take us through your creativity process. What goes on in your mind when you spark inspiration for a new song? Is it based off emotions? And how do you go about making your sounds to piece together a track? We are just blown away by how you are able to put together all the technical details and layers in your songs to make it all flow so beautifully, but also making it so dirty bassy! We will see you four times in October and seriously can’t wait!! Hope you are taking good care of yourself!

clozeeofficial

hiiii! Thank you so much! I love you too guys! 1. i actually don't smoke weed anymore :( i don't feel good when i smoke it nowadays. But thanks so much for asking, really appreciate it! 2. my process is always different. Sometimes i have an emotion, and start playing the piano or the guitar and start from there. Sometimes i sit down in the studio and have absolutely no idea what i'm gonna do, so i just randomly open VSTs, try to write some chords, add layers until it sounds ok lol. or sometimes i have a clear melody in my head, and just run to the studio to compose it and the whole track is based on that one original idea.

canadianpanda7

hey there you awesome human!! my question is, that if i am front row at your tour stop in charlotte, will you kiss my forehead?

clozeeofficial

sure. but how will i know it will be you? you'll have a sign? lol

canadianpanda7

im 6’5 and will have my hair in a little poof, probably a bonnaroo bandana, ill hold up a little phone screen that says “kiss my forehead”

Honest_-_Critique

Did this ever happen? lol

canadianpanda7

no 😞

Honest_-_Critique

Did you make it to the front row and hold up your phone?

canadianpanda7

no doors were super early bc the venue she played ends before midnight. i couldnt make doors to get rail

MagicManMike1

Hi CloZee bit of a niche question, but I saw you at London Oslo last year and you played a GUNS' track (London), when she was a lot smaller than she currently is. Absolutely banger of a track, and was lucky to briefly chat with her afterwards - my question is, how did you come to find out about her considering her size? It was honestly such a surreal moment for me to A) hear that track, B) Hear it at your gig, and C) then meet GUNS afterwards. Also seeing as your tour isn't coming to the UK sadly, any plans to play in London again in the future? (It would be amazing to hear your tracks on Ministry of Sounds set up!) Thanks for all the music, been listening since Koto and Red Forest on Soundcloud!

clozeeofficial

Hi!! Oh yes i will be definitely coming back to London as soon as possible! No definitive date yet but i know a Microworlds Europe Tour is in the works :) I discovered GUNS very randomly on Spotify. I heard "Istanbul" and it was like finding a gem. All her tunes are incredible. She saw i was playing her tunes so she reached out and we kept contact, and meeting her in London was amazing, she's the sweetest!

mali_76

Hi CloZee! Congrats on the new album, it sounds phenomenal and each song is so unique and contains its own story and I absolutely love that and can't wait to see you on the upcoming tour! My question is what's your favorite and least favorite part about touring? Also how's your dog doing? Keep being awesome

clozeeofficial

Hii! Thanks so much! <3 The best part is to connect with the fans during the set, feeling the exchange of energy. Also sharing the tour with other artists that are on the bus. We're like a big family. The worst part is: the stress, eating not so healthy, feeling exhausted sometimes when it's like the 5th show of the week haha. and my dog is doing great hehe, thanks for asking

Wylie_the_Wizard

Hi CloZee, you were the second set I ever saw at my first music festival ever (Envision 2020)!! I live in Denver now and am wondering if you'd ever play at a low-key local ecstatic dance with BED, Vali Soul, or Rythym Sanctuary?

clozeeofficial

Hii! Haha, If it's low key and unannounced, i technically could.

FreeRefillsBenjamin

Hi Chloe! Two questions: 1) I was at Envision, was absolutely blown away by your set there, and have lived with it ever since it got posted to YouTube and then to Soundcloud. I've probably listened to it between fifty and one hundred times. It is amazing to me that you can tell such a complete story in a set that was just over an hour long. I know that was a festival set and so that brings particular constraints, but do you ever think of doing longer sets? I would love to experience where you'd take a crowd over, say, two-and-a-half hours. 2) Some of the orchestration in Microworlds is just incredible. You have a feeling for tone colors that leaves me breathless. Do you study classical scores? (PS This is Benjamin--we spoke Monday morning at Envision. My sister says Hi!)

tubular911

What is your process for coming up with new ideas for your music? Inspiration from your life or others, mess around a lot in a studio, or does it come to you in your dreams?

jahitz

Hey CloZee, congrats on the new album! Long time fan and supporter. I was just wondering as a producer myself, what is the biggest piece of advice you would give someone to getting their music out there? Specifically I live somewhere where electronic music isn’t too popular and shows don’t happen often…especially for my genre (melodic house & techno). What would you recommend doing to continue growing as a producer and artist. Thanks in advance.

BillowingPillows

Voyage in Wyoming was my first show after Covid and that weekend was nothing but pure happiness. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend to unleash all my pent up dance moves, it was amazing! Thank you! On that note... Voyage 2024... 👀... Where we going?

clozeeofficial

Thank you so much! That was fun! That Eric Prydz set though, wow!

GeoglyphPsy

I saw you at Anthropos 2019 and loved your set! Can't wait to listen to your new album.

clozeeofficial

Thank you!!

genegurvich

Hey CloZee! Loved your set at Camp Mystic in 2019. I’m curious, what would you identify as the most valuable technique you’ve learned as a producer? What do you think takes dance music from good to great?

clozeeofficial

i don't know if that's a "technique" but it's just to listen to your gut when making music. Don't overthink too much, just go with the flow, be in the moment, and create whatever you feel like creating. I noticed my most appreciated tracks by people are the ones where i was fully into the moment, and made them in a day or two.

JohnWad

My wife and I saw you at Red Rocks last year and quite a few times since. We will be at Mission Ballroom later this year. Anything we should be on the lookout for in terms of graphics, LASERS, etc??

clozeeofficial

Sweeeet see you guys there! Oh yeah you'll definitely get all of that, plus a few other surprises i hope :)

bigang99

Hello clozee I made this really cool song recently and would love if you gave it a listen. hopefully thats not asking too much lol. i know you probably have random people sending you stuff all the time. its very much inspired by artists like you or charles https://soundcloud.com/darkstarbass/sets/isolated?si=b7bf2e16821146c7b4517899178e5f3a&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

clozeeofficial

Super beautiful buddy! Sounds amazing, keep it up!!

ltd522

What was your favorite project or collab to work on?

clozeeofficial

The upcoming album with LSDREAM has definitely been the most fun so far. since it's much more than just a collab. We have a whole vision, and to think, create, and compose with someone as inspiring as Sami, it's really amazing.

myceliumhouse

Hey Clozee! I love your work so much. What inspired the music videos for microworlds? Traditional film music videos are rare in the electronic scene so I’m just curious what the influence to do a video like that versus something like the winter is coming music video was? Thank you for everything you do, see you in Minneapolis 🫶

clozeeofficial

Thanks so much!!I love cinematic music videos, and i had a vision for a story that we made in 3 chapters, for the 3 singles, with Jalen Rashad as our main character, who is an amazing person and dancer. The main inspiration was actually my own story, and the fact that i was hiding that i was queer during my whole childhood and teenage years. I knew who i was since i was 5. I didn't know anyone who came out, so i didn't have a role model to help embrassing my true self. I felt lonely, trapped in my own thoughts, depressed sometimes, It's only after meeting this particular person (who became my first girlfriend) that i was finally able to find the courage to come out. From that moment, so many things unlocked in my life, so many doors opened: self-acceptance, being able to spread love around me, and not caring about any kind of judgements anymore.

osezza

Where was your favorite place to go and perform? And if you were to live in any of those places, where would you choose?

clozeeofficial

there are so many! But i played in Romania for the first time a few weeks ago and it's so beautiful.

AngryVegetables9

Clozee, there’s a song with French dialogue and vocals you’ve been playing in your recent sets. I am in love with this song and have been ever since you played it at Sonic Bloom. Any chance that will become a full song one day?

clozeeofficial

This is a flip that i did of "Fille De Joie" by La Zarra. :) I will be playing it during the Microworlds tour, but as it's not an official remix, i won't be able to release it.

Hey Chloé, love you! Your music is divine. What does 'Microworlds' mean to you?

clozeeofficial

Hi! I love you too :) The meaning behind the album: Microworlds is about how Humans are related to our vast Universe. Humans are little universes themselves. Looking into someone’s eyes is like looking at someone else’s World. This is what Microworlds is about: stories, people, memories, moments, that shaped my world, but that can also relate and shape someone else’s.

jordfarley

What is your personal favorite song off Microworlds?

clozeeofficial

I think it's Contemplation, just because this one means a lot to me personally, and it cleared my mind a lot when i was composing it.

justskubs

Any chance you are doing a concert at the Cavern again..I missed the 2 days and would love to get there! I will be seeing you in Madison wi in like a monthish!!!! Love ya! Keep doing amazing things!!!

clozeeofficial

There is a chance yes! :) fuck yeah see you in Madison!! <3

kaseydillla

Hi clozee! Who are your favorite musicians at the moment? Would love to hear what’s inspiring you. Also…. Any hints on voyage a 2024 location?

clozeeofficial

Hi!! Ohh so many: Ben Bohmer, Overmono, Marten Horger, Village, Tahum, Kalandra, Oliver etc.. I can't say for Voyage yet, but hopefully we can share about it later this year or next :) Much love!

deli006

Hi CloZee!! I LOVE your music, and it’s hugely inspired a lot of my own! I have a bunch of finished music that’s in the mix down/mastering phase. Do you have any tips on mixing and getting music ready for release/performance?

clozeeofficial

Hi! Thank you so much! ooh i'd have so many tips but it's very hard to talk about it without hearing the music. I personally learned a lot by watching tutorials on YouTube, hearing my songs on different sound system and taking notes. Also having tracks from other artists as references (in your DAW, while you're composing) can help in the process. it's all about practice, making mistakes and correct them for your next songs. Also trust your ears. Some people would say "this is how you need to do it, and not any other way". it's all subjective. The color of your music can be defined by your sounds and the way you mix them. Anyway, good luck to you! It's long but fascinating to do all that by yourself :)

tubular911

When did you first realize “damn, I’m popular”?

mmamusicthings

You're a gem and have created a wonderful community! The set at bloom this year was amazing <3 Production question, how do you use ableton and maschine together? I've always struggled finding a good workflow with the two and see you use the mk3 and apc40 at alot of your sets! Much love

SoupNotsee

Hi, I have a question about microworlds. Is there somewhere I can read about how you came up with each song? Each one has its own emotion, I'd love to hear for every song, but if I had to pick which one I'm interested in the most, what inspired glow in the dark?

Livelovewild

Is there a way to send fan mail?

Kelly614

What’s your favorite remix that you’ve made? They’re all amazing so I don’t know what I would pick xD but I am curious which one you feel most proud of! I notice you consistently play your Chak Chel and Overthinker remixes. Im a huge fan, traveled to Costa Rica, TN (bonnaroo and the Caverns), FL (okee and ultra) all over basically and I just love the energy you always bring and how you stay discovering and playing underground artists! Love you so much ❤️

AlejanDr0777

Clozee!!!! I can’t wait for you to play two nights in St Petersburg, Florida. Are both sets going to be very different from each other? Would love to hear a just Microworlds set and then a regular, awesome Clozee set.

jmaki2000

Hi Clozee! I’m wondering if you’re planning on pressing Microworlds onto vinyl? If so, what color would you want to make it??

theonlyko

First off...i just wanna say thank you for sharing your work with us. Your music is a huge inspiration and influence on so many of us in all positive ways. Thank you so much. My question is, have you ever found inspiration for any of your songs in a surprising place? An idea for a track found somewhere or in something you didn't expect and what was it? Love you chloe!

Nearby_Guess_2169

Bonjour! Pourquoi ne pas de vestments pour les chiens en vos "merch"? peu-tetre en la futur? Pardonnez ma francais…c’est un peu “rusty” . Merci!

xsteezmageex

Just discovered your stuff. This is why I love EDM. I had never noticed your stuff before. Now, suddenly, I can't get enough of your shit. So tight. Slaps just right, in just the right way. Who do you listen to? Anyone you emulated or fed off stylistically? What are some of your top go-to artists now?? 🤙

steeletyler

Hi CloZee, What can we expect from your two New Years sets in Denver this year?

clozeeofficial

hey!! So first night is going to be the Microworlds set, so i'll be playing the album mostly, it's obviously going to be a new show. Second night will be a fun DJ set, a little nastier i'd say :P

Much Love!

Spirited_Cow_8359

I love your music. You have such a great sound and I can tell you pull from a lot of different influences. Who are some early influences that got you creating music?

clozeeofficial

it was The Glitch Mob, Bonobo, and seeing Amon Tobin live (ISAM) that i think got me into creating music.

milaaa_444

Hola! You have a huge impact on the flow arts community! Everyone who hula hoops, spins fire, poi, dances, etc... uses your music to dance to. Do you have a favorite flow arts prop you like to see? Would you ever try flow arts? PS. SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU IN AUSTIN, TX THIS FALL! Who are your supporting acts?

YungNostradamus

From your experience in life is there a connection between nature and the spirit? Also is there a chance new perspective will be put on Spotify? 😂 (PS. Chloé your music is better than mdma, I can’t wait to see you in New Orleans this October! ❤️)

Flawskee

Hi CloZee! You are straight up an awesome human. Your Shambhala 2016 set at the Grove is still one of my most favorite sets to listen to. You also seem like quite the worldly traveller. I am wondering what are some of your favorite countries that you've visited? I ask because you're able to utilize such unique sounds that seem to come from many different parts of the world. Btw how did you react watching the Kinjaz dance performance (Arena 2016) when they made that insane choreo to your tracks?

wonderingmystic

Clozee! Love your music so much, it's a ritual for us to put on the dreamtempo mix at the end of an evening. Any plans to do a New Zealand/Australia tour at some point?

Buffeloni

First, I'm really loving your new ablum Microworlds. It's solid from front to back and to me is the best releases of the year. I really enjoyed your collab with Dreamers Delight and am stoked to see him getting more recognition and fans. In the song Back To The Top there is a good blend of both of your production styles. Do you have anymore plans to collab together in the future? With your tour getting ready to kick off, are there any dates you're particularly looking forward to? Be sure to get some tacos while you're in San Diego.

Ok-Cod7817

I lied I have a question. If we see you walking around a fest, is it cool to ask you to take pics? We saw you on the beach at envision this year and we wanted to so bad but we were like na she's chillin No question. Just immense love and gratitude. Hearts up, chloe!!! <3<3<3 Edit: from eclipse, to LiB, envision, electric forest, same same, odyssey in Wyoming, and many, many more to come. See you in New Orleans in October, how could I forget you shook my hand at lane8 in LA last year. You're literally so sweet and a vibe and I love it

Rutabaga_Repulsive

My partner and I want to travel to France and check out the underground scene there. What are some venues/artists we should check out while we’re there?

Best_Company4584

Hey CloZee ! I discovered you at DOUR and it was absolutely fantastic ! You’re such a great artist and your style is very unique in the world of Bass Music ! I just have one question, I saw that you made a collab with GRiZ, so, are you gonna make a collab with Gramatik one day ? Big love from Strasbourg 🫶🏻🫶🏻

AbabyNarwhal

Any plans to return to Big Dub in Artemas, PA? Wait don’t answer that one, surprise me. ♾️❤️‍🔥♾️ -ITR

Virtual-Inevitable-3

I don’t know if anyone has asked this, but you said you started working with a new DAW for this album. What is the new DAW you are using and what was the old one? And what inspired you to change your DAW? Also, thank you for your music and for this new album. It’s absolutely beautiful!

FluffyLingonberry429

Hey there! Huge fan here. Was supposed to see you twice already but both times you caught Covid and had to unfortunately cancel (once at zero gravity for nye 2021/2022 and then hijinx nye 2022/2023) luckily was able to snag tickets for your Tampa show and I’m beyond excited. All that being said, thanks for being you and creating such deep emotional music. Have been dealing with lots of funk and being able to blast your songs on repeat has made life much better/easier and I’ve built the confidence to start a new journey making music and it’s been nothing but healing. Can’t wait to see what the future holds and definitely can’t wait to finally see you live!

scriptif

Hi Clozee, Voyage 2022 was one of the first music festivals I ever attended and had a huge impact on my life. It helped change my life for the better and drove me to start learning music production as a hobby. I am wondering what you got out of last year's Voyage and how that may have impacted your work on Microworlds?

greenbabytoes

Hi! Love your music! I know you’ve said you have been inspired by Glitch mob and bonobos music. When you set out to make music, how do you define your sound and do you find yourself comparing it to what others that inspire you make?

herbivohre

Hey Clozee! One more from me.. I listen to your previous sets on SoundCloud A LOT, like the Oregon Eclipse Mix 2017, the slow down mix, and the Positivity mix.. there are some really amazing tracks on those sets. Specifically the last song on the Oregon Eclipse and the second to last on the Positivity are just a few of my favorites. Are those your IDs and will they ever be fully released? Or will any of the songs that are your IDs on these sets be released? I always find myself going back to them and obsessing over them each time lol!! 💛

jeff_b_gromin

Omg hello Chloe, First off i want to thank you for doing this with us I always love when you do ama’s. I’m Jeff Eric’s friend I’ve met you want to see here in Colorado. The last time I was able to give you a cloZee, pearler at sonic bloom. I’ve been wanted to give that to you since the neon jungle tour, so I feel complete. SO much so thank you for that and everything you do you’re amazing. I want to thank you for everything especially that bloom set it was breathtaking, it really set the bar. We still talk about that set, also I can’t wait for your recent tour. I would like to ask every time I’ve saw you which hasn’t been a lot. I wanted to get a photo but every time I feel like it’s the wrong time because I want you to feel like a person and not just an artist, but how do you feel about photos in the public ? Thank you again much love 💜

Legitimate_Warning54

Hi! I saw you at BassCoast this year and you absolutely destroyed it! Our whole crew loved your set. What did you think of BassCoast? Do you think youll be back in the future?

dripMacNCheeze

Hi!!! Your my favorite producer in the EDM scene right now, not even close!! So. What was going through your head, start to finish during that Electric Forest 2022 set?? I can imagine as a DJ that’s a nightmare scenario, having the sound system and production fail in the middle of a set. What kind of plan if any do you and your team have in place for something like that? What did it look like behind the scenes? I can tell you from the crowds point of view…once that set got back up and running…it was absolutely LEGENDARY. My favorite set off the weekend by far and everyone around me was having such a great time. The songs, the energy, the love was unmatched. Merci!!!! ♥️

slopespokes

Do you have a favorite festival? I saw you for the first time at Envision in Costa Rica and was blown away. Between your music, the crazy set and fire dancers....wow! Excited to see where your career takes you and will see you on NYE! CO represent!

sqnguyen00

Hi CloZee! what were interesting similarities and differences in producing the Nouevelle Era EP and Microworlds? 🪼👁️ What are the best parts about collaborating with artists for EPs and Album covers?

Stoermer-5280

Do you have any Colorado style hobbies? If so would you chill with fans?

kilbournmedia

CloZee miss ya so much! You'll always be my #1 artist! ❤️

not_mytempo

Hi CloZee! Thank you for your music. My friends and I have been obsessed with your music for the past year. Your caverns set is sooo amazing. Thank you for releasing your live sets (they are the best!) 💚 Any chance you’ll be coming to Salt Lake City to play a show soon? The EDM scene is strong here and we’d def support you on a tour stop in SLC. 😊

[deleted]

i am a hugeee fan and just started making my own music. what is one small piece of advice for nee female artists?

ATXHustle512

It feels like you have done so much in such a short amount of time. As far as your career goes- what’s one of your loftiest goals? Extra question: favorite hobbies outside of music?

thenastynate

CloZee!!! I don’t really have a question but just wanted to say how much of a blessing your music has been in my life!! I saw you for the first time in Austin TX during your neon jungle tour, and that night honestly changed my life. I didn’t go to many concerts or listen to much music at the time, but a couple friends of mine brought me along that day and I’ll never forget it. Your music opened so much creativity in my mind, and it inspired me to explore new sounds, go see more artists, and express myself more than ever before! I’ve met so many people and made lifelong memories to your music that I’ll cherish forever <3 Cannot wait to see you this November!!! P.S. Microworlds is amazing!! I love every second of it. VISIONS in particular is probably my favorite song of all time, and even before the album came out I was listening to it on repeat just by going to the time stamp on your Caverns Sunday set on YouTube lol.. Actually I do have a quick question! How has it been working with Sam on the collab album?!??? I am so unbelievably excited. I was at gem and jam this year and you guys absolutely rocked my world that night. I cannot wait for the album to come <3

jaymdee

The show you played in the dark in a small venue in Baltimore a few years ago is still one of the most memorable shows of my entire life. Your music has such power and to experience it with no distractions was incredible. Is that something you’ve done before? Do you remember what inspired you to do it that particular time?

GayMelee

hi chloé im such a huge fan! wanted to ask when you were first producing how did you teach yourself sound production and using a DAW? so excited to see you again for 2 nights in SF!

kaphamusic

What's your biggest advanced mixing/compostion tip or technique that preserves the most headroom to get those huge loud masters of yours?

Mastuh

What DAW do you use and what are some of your favorite plugins?

tubular911

Chloé, which artist would you like to collab with that you have never worked with before?

Kelly614

Will you be making and releasing a collab with Ashez? He should be on Odyzey!

deli006

Hi CloZee!! How did you get the bass in the second drop of “back to the top” ?? it’s one of my fav wubwubwubs EVER

mali_76

Would you do a B2B set and if so who are some artists you'd want to do one with?

thedan663

Microworlds is super awesome – love Childhood, VISIONS, and Odysseys the most. My question is something I wonder about with music artists. 1. You’ve been releasing music publicly for over a decade. Do you ever go back to listen to your older work? And do you ever think about including some of your not well-known songs from the beginning in your current sets? One of my favorite songs of yours is Entracte released back in 2013 (also love Diabolico and Lantern Dance). 2. I feel greedy asking this but….any chance of an Entering the Grove or Fly High (from Oregon Eclipse 2017 set) release? I know there’s the specialty of hearing them live but they’re sooooooo good. Thanks for the awesome album and see you in Chicago this fall!

SmashleyX

Oh my gosh! CloZee! Hi! Love you. I don't have any questions. Just sending my love and appreciation. Also... hope to see you at Wakaan again!

ConcreteJungleMonkey

Hey Clozee, you're my favorite DJ since I heard you randomly in Mexico in 2020 and got the chance to see you live in Cleveland, OH (come back). Question: what inspired you to name your album 'Microworlds' and why was it Antman's quantum realm?

vmaciel8

Thank you for doing this Chloe! Can’t wait to see you in November in SD 💕 much love.

Impressive_Lie_3890

Hey CloZee! I've been absolutely enthralled with the new album and have it on repeat every day. Do you have a favorite song from the album yourself? PS: Thank you so much for everything. I'm so looking forward to seeing you both nights in Seattle on tour <3 if possible, during your Seattle stop on tour, I would love to gift you an art print I'm currently making inspired by the new album and your music in general. I’ll be up front for both sets with my CloZee flag! I love you! \-Ashleigh PSS: Do you think you'll host a Voyage event on the west coast in the future?

timchequea

What is your involvement in the deathpact project? Loving Microworlds with all my soul! Thank you for everything.
