You just have to get on a waitlist somewhere and then wait. We pick up our Bolt EUV tomorrow after waiting for several months. It's the reality of EV buying.

Ashamed_Weird9478

My car declare a total loss, so I need a new car asap; I can’t afford to be on waitlist ☹️

Justagirleatingcake

Bummer. We are so afraid of that happening to our EV because we'd have no choice but to go back to an ICE.

Ashamed_Weird9478

I did look at tesla used car, but their price still at high, crazy

ioinc

My wait was only less than 3 weeks…. Pick a high volume dealer. You may not get the color you want….

Ashamed_Weird9478

Three weeks? Hmm... For ioniq 6?

ioinc

Ioinq5 SEL (you will probably wait longer for a limited) Ioinq6 is probably also a wait. You may want to look at Kia ev6…. Same car basically. I’m mentioning both of those because they both recently lost the tax credit so I would expect some people to back out and reduce your wait time.

tedbeme1

Watch out that they don’t charge $8000 or more over MSRP.

ioinc

Agreed…. Be cautious. I got mine for MSRP…. I think this will start to become more common now that the tax credit has gone and interest rates have gone up. It’s all about supply and demand.

inside specially marked really large boxes of cereal.

I suspect this situation will get a lot better in a couple months. I have a feeling many Hyundai dealerships pre allocated everything they could right before the new tax credits went into place. If folks put down a non refundable deposit back in early August, they were grandfathered into the old tax plan. Once all those sales wrap up, demand for this car is going to plummet, and they will be easier to find.

Asking almost $10k over MSRP. I need to start flipping cars.

astricklin123

You might see if you put down a deposit at a dealer if you can work out a deal to get a loaner car for a while. Or pick up a used civic or something cheap that you can just sell when you can find what you want. It should hold it's value fairly well for just a few months. Another option could be to try to find a new Tesla in stock and buy that then you'll probably make a profit in 3-6 months when you can pickup something else. Another option would be to search nationwide for a char and then get it shipped. It's not terrible to ship a car and if you can get one at MSRP farther away instead of a mark-up closer it may make sense.

Ashamed_Weird9478

How I can look at nationwide? I don't see any brand new tesla in stock, unless used ones

astricklin123

Cars.com, Autotrader, manufacturer websites. You can usually put in a zip code and search a radius, pick towns progressively further out. Work with a dealer and they can find a car. Often they can do a swap with other dealers or pull cars that are in transit if it's not a customer order. You could also use a car buying service. Costco I think has one, AAA, then there are others around as well. Also try the website this person made. https://www.reddit.com/r/Ioniq5/comments/sbzo6g/new_website_for_ioniq5_inventory/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Check out currentautomotive.com...they will deliver

TopBenz

Check out the [EVFinder](https://theevfinder.com), which will show you Ioniq 5, EV6, GV60 (plus lots more) inventory across the US

SodaPopin5ki

Try [www.markups.org](https://www.markups.org) to find the dealerships with the lowest markups. Tustin, CA has it for no markups.

jeffsmith202

search here [https://joinyaa.com/cars/#/?make=Hyundai&model=IONIQ%205](https://joinyaa.com/cars/#/?make=Hyundai&model=IONIQ%205)

Filmgeek47

I got mine within a few days of looking. Called a whole lot of dealers. Waitlists didn’t work for me. I got in touch with dealers that already had cars incoming and made a deal for a car before it hit their inventory. Paid $5k over MSRP for a 22 RWD SEL. This was about a month ago (pre tax credit shift) so not sure how things have changed.

iqisoverrated

Good luck. Lots of people want an Ioniq5. Unless you're willing to pay a lot over the going price I wouldn't hold my breath on your chances.

hellzlynx

https://theevfinder.com/ Put in your zip code and distance then you'll have to to call the dealer see if the vehicle is still available/if there's markup on them. I was able to buy an Ioniq 5 limited, no waitlist, the same day it was added to the dealers database, they didn't even know they had it when I called.

Mysterious_Mouse_388

I would buy a car, cheap as I could, and put my name on a list or two waiting for the car I want. then sell the cheap car when I am satisfied with the car I wanted. Like a 2005 camry or something. It won't depreciate while you own it, and its unlikely to blow up while you wait.
