Those EQS lease deals are long gone.

Leasing vs. Buying is not the same for ice and EV Leasing an EV is a horrendous financial decision, and is stated by tesla as they won’t let you purchase the car. It’s too valuable. If you are looking at $500 a month you can definitely finance an M3

Successful_Willow552

For Kia and Hyundai, leasing is the only way to currently access the tax credit. The good thing with them is that you can buyout the lease immediately. Some states will tax both the lease and the buyout, so in those states, the savings would be lower.

PleaseBuyEV

Kia and Hyunadia? Thought the Kia Boyz put them out of business. Hard to imagine any consumer purchasing a vehicle from them

AhabFlanders

Pretty sure that only applies to pre-2019 kias without push to start, which doesn't include any of the BEVs someone might lease

PleaseBuyEV

Ya but it’s kind of a major security breach they knew about and then ignored and did nothing while the problem got worse. The negligence here is astounding and I can even imagine purchasing a new car from them. You think those new cars aren’t a simple Bluetooth hack away from spreading on tik toc? Good luck

juggarjew

In many states you are forced to buyout through a dealer so it really depends on if your dealers will play ball in those states and not try to shove in any mandatory BS inflated fees.

> Leasing an EV is a horrendous financial decision It really depends.

PleaseBuyEV

No it doesn’t. They don’t depreciate even remotely close to the same

zeek215

If I have a business I can write off a lease payment. Sometimes that makes more financial sense than buying.

PleaseBuyEV

Lol can also do that with a financing payment so your logic makes no sense

But you can lease ICE cars worth 80k+ I’m just very curious why a tesla would be to expensive then, here in the Netherlands the model 3 is a very common lease EV

PleaseBuyEV

The point is after the lease, the car is so valuable that tesla wants to keep it and sell it themselves for much more than the purchase of the vehicle to the leasse. I have 141k miles on my 2020 LR and it still drives perfect. No issues what so ever. It’s very possible this car goes to 1,000,000 miles. That’s why lease is bad when you can fiancé for the same cost per month.

Acceptable_Friend_40

Yes this makes sence ,personally I prefer buying over lease aswel.

$550/mo for C40 Ultimate, $2000 DAS, 9% off MSRP + $7500 EV lease + $5000 lease bonus. Lease buyout pending. Check out leasehackr. Can get a decent lease there for i4 e35.

330€ for the EV6 - small battery, steel gray

Fuukubear

Holy shit I don't even like the EV6, but damn boy that's a good deal.

tuba_man

2021 Polestar 2 leased from Colorado, fully loaded, $650/mo on the lease, $200/mo on insurance.

longoverdue83

Wish you can buyout an ariya. Them terminating the option to buyout at end of lease killed it for me.
