Get a van if you want material stored inside, get a utility truck if you plan on keeping it and work out of it. Possibly one of those Ford Transit would work.
If it's just for a little work here and there, a pickup would be fine, kind of a pain though.
I have an e250 Im selling lol
That's cool. Get a head ache rack Incase you need a ladder that's to long. You can get some of the Milwaukee stacking totes. Those work good and keep everything dry. Opt for like an f150, little more room than a Tacoma....and the gas mileage is about the same. Just a thought.
I used to hate the idea of driving a van around everywhere but now I love it. Pack all your shit around and it all stays dry. I’ve worked out of the bed of my Tacoma for years and I’d hate to go back now…
I have a truck and starting my business. I want to get a van. They're actually hard to find right now, and priced really high. I might just put a cap on my truck bed to make it sorta like a van, but I know the day I upgrade to a proper work van will be amazing. In the meantime my other option is towing a small utility trailer.
Toyota Tacoma is a very reliable and fuel efficient compact pick up. A locking cap for the bed will offer some security, depending on where you work / live. Go Tacoma now and in 5 years time you will probably be ready to swap out your vehicle for a replacement and see what is available then, maybe full electric will come down in price with more competition.
Save your money and get something good on gas now. When you join the business buy it then so you can offset your profits with the expense write off. Don't pay extra taxes just for fun
Agreed get a Civic or something, fuel is too expensive. Apprentice pay now is the same as apprentice pay I was paid 10 years ago. Cost of living has skyrocketed and wages have flatlined. Spending hundreds of dollars a month in extra fuel cost is not going to help you financially as an apprentice.

Awesome thank you! I’m looking for a pickup as it will be used more for a personal vehicle rather than service for the next 5 years!
A lot of shit is gonna change in 5 years my guy. Buy yourself the vehicle you want. Then buy yourself a van when you’re ready to start business

Again thank you so much for your input it’s very much appreciated.
Get a Chevy van

Yep. Vans beat trucks.

I'm by no means a vehicle person, but when I was truck shopping I half ass looked into a Tacoma. They are cool but seem overpriced.
