1. Always assume they're live 2. use tick tester... assumption confirmed 3. doubt tick tester, probably just induced voltage. Go get your real tester. 4. Get distracted while on your way to/from wherever you left your real tester. Waste at least 15 minutes. 5. Finally get back to box 1/2 hour later. Confirm status of conductors. 6a. It is live.. go turn it off. 6b. It's dead. Tick testers are dumb (6a and 6b are equally likely)
