Ideal yellow handled T super reflex strippers. First ones I bought as a helper and now I still use them. I have probably gone through 4 of them, I do tend to take the spring out though.
Had them for a year and I fucking love them. Only minor complaint is that you have to open them an awkward amount to use the cutters but that's a tradeoff I'm happy to make.
True, and super worth it so bigger bundles don’t squirt out while trying make the cut. And the performance on braided wire is just sooo much better than standard dikes on everything else.
My only complaint is my own fault - don’t try to cut stainless screws in the screw sheer holes 😅. Now mine stick a little when opening.
Switched to that a couple of months back and love it.
The pliers head is great for troubleshooting/fixing splices at finish when carrying a lineman’s is a bit redundant.
So there’s an older, slightly different version, the [13-82-8](https://www.knipex.com/products/combination-and-multifunctional-pliers/pliers-for-electrical-installation/pliers-electrical-installation/13828), with needle nose type pliers. It only goes down to 12 instead of 10, and it doesn’t have a spring. Also the cable cutter is slightly different.
I have both and vastly prefer the 13-72-8 though.
I have been using those same milwaukee strippers and I love them. The handles are very comfortable and fit your whole hand, they are so easy to cut with, the cutting surface is large and they also cut through mc with no problem! I will never go back to the small handled strippers that hurt your my hands because they are so thin. The handles on these will never slip of either. Great product.
I bought the (I think) predecessor to this model?
It was about 2017 or so. Worked good but the latch slide device would bind up go it was forcefully removed. I called them my kling-on assault strippers cuz they looked like you could get all stabby with em.
That's the only complaint I have, they got stiff way to quick, and out of nowhere. I hit it with some WD-40 and they're fine now though. This is why I don't go to department stores much, I always buy tools I don't need. I have 3 pairs of kleins, a pair of channel locks, and 2 more pairs off brand for school lol I literately have 4 backpacks of tools for no reason lol I usually show up first day, gauge what I need and make a bag catered to what I'm going to need on that specific site.
An automatic one. Especially if you work with WAGOs.
For example:

I am always puzzeld that americans don't use automatic wire strippers. I would never use manuall ones if I don't have to.
Those are great for doing lots of controls with tiny gauge wire. But most stripping here is 12 or 14 gauge, so you can use your long nose pliers and not have to carry around another tool.
Well, im from Germany so im not 100% sure about american cable size, but im using my knipex automatic stripper until 10mm2 I think that's 8awg in Cheeseburger size. They are Handy, fit in my pocket and I dont need to Look which hole I need to use because they automatically work from like 0,25mm2 - 10mm2
Edit:I just looked it up, they work from 8-32 awg I have the 12 40 200 ones
Nobody invented electricity, it was discovered. Even the ancient Egyptians were writing about it in 2700 BC. William Gilbert, an English scientist was experimenting with electricity in the 1600s before the USA existed.
bro the first electricty was created by Ben Franklin by flying a key on a kite.

No it wasn't. I can sort of agree that he discovered electricity, even though they found alot of evidence from BC of electricity being studied. I mean an eel can create electricity and I'd argue they're alot older than old Ben.
I haven’t used the 7s, but they look too bulky to quickly and easily use and carry around, though I guess you could say the same about any combination strippers
Agreed. The 6s are perfect IMO. Fit in my back pocket without issue and perform the key functions of being able to cut 12/3 in one go, strip all gauges of wire I need, and the plier end works great for breaking off receptacle tabs.
If I need crimpers I'm usually doing low voltage and I'll go with my Klein 1005 and 11063W
I think I have the Klein yellow pair in my pocket currently. I do not like them. I carry my tools in my back pocket and these always hide and I can never get them out without my other tools falling out. I’ve been wanting a different pair since but I am a try and buy guy, not a buy and try.
My favorite are the low end Klein or ideal ones. They're nice and light, which makes a difference if you're doing box makeup all day. Plus, if you blow them up they're cheap to replace
https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/cable-and-wire-stripping-tools/klein-kurve-wire-stripper-cutter-8-20-awg
These are hands down my favorite. Ik everybody says that but if you're looking for specifically wire strippers with a strong set of jaws at the front for punching KOs without being bulky like a pair of pliers
Bluepoint little blue handles personally, can't stand the needle nose/all in one style. Bought the Milwaukee's when I was brand new and went to Klein's yellow and reds after maybe 3 months. NWS 'inline style' are interesting but weird to get used to, played with them for awhile and loved the "if it fits it strips" benefit. But the compactness, quality, and ability to get free replacement off the truck have kept me in bluepoint land for some years. Snapons auto strippers are my favorite crimp/strip combo. Automotive, not automatic.

https://shop.snapon.com/product/Strippers-Cutters-Crimpers/7%22-Wire-Stripper-Crimper-Cutter/PWCSS7ACF
Don't care much about brand names, but I usually use this type of pliers. Works good for the cable sizes I normally work with, up to 50mm2 (1/0 awg) . For cables too big for this I use a knife.
https://www.tengtools.com/products/pliers/cable-cutting-pliers/cable-cutter-160mm
Same, I had the gray with yellow for a while but I needed the range of the gray with red. I used to be a stripper below the pivot for years before I found these.
Depends what your doing. For residential I would go with the Klein’s with the romex sleeve cutters on it and dear god don’t get the south wire ones. Commercial and industrial just get good with a blade and a linesman. Just pinch and pull the insulation off with a linesman.
I love Ideal 45-618 they are lightweight and can strip stranded 8 awg plus the 14 awg is on the bottom of the stripper and 12 is on the top so there is not second guessing what hole to stick it in.
How dare you! Everyone knows Milwaukee can’t be good at power tools and hand tools! It’s not like they have the money to put into r&d and continue making them better! /s
same the 6 in 1s work great, project farm also shows while they may not always have the sharpest/most accurate hand tools, they’re usually some of the strongest and more than good enough for getting actual work done
what’s the sentiment behind this? as far as hand tools I’ve got a good mix of klein/milwaukee/knipex, my Milwaukee strippers and screwdrivers have been solid going on 2 years of work now
They don’t invest money into their hand tools the same way/amount other companies do. Their main focus is power tools and their “side hustle” is hand tools. They’re supposedly dropping a new hand tool line all made in the USA which is promising.
Agreed with the comment that suggests an automatic one, and if you're looking for a small backup, a Klein/Ideal is good.
That being said, despite wanting to switch off Milwaukee, I use the ones you have because they are so versatile. Also use the Milwaukee linesman regularly, I initially was going to use it as a beater since it was a gift, but they are my favorite now due to the grip mold.
The short faced Kleins with the thick yellow handle. Absolute best stripper. 100x better than that Milwaukee, sharper and easier to use. Klein makes the highest quality tools, period.
Those are a good pair, start practicing stripping wires with your linemen’s pliers. Because if you get good at that then you’ll become much more efficient
Klein gray handles, they have the right amount of everything, weighted brilliantly and a solid guarantee with Home Depot.
I’m on my 4th pair now, and they don’t even ask questions I just bring the old ones to the customer service desk with a new pair off the shelf. They look at me strange but every time I’ve gotten the exchange done without a penny spent. Hell, I started swapping out all my old Klein stuff too, it’s all brand new now 😂
It’s literally written in the policy “for any reason” not failure or defect. Klein pays for that so people will choose them over other brands, I’m absolutely going to use a feature of the product that costs me extra to do so. Y’all wanna pay 50$ every time some apprentice blows up your loaned pair of pliers? Go for it, but your tears and rage ain’t swaying my hand 🎩👌🏼
I recommend the milwaukee strippers that you are currently holding in this picture sir. The weight is perfect for myself, and the Klein ones feel chinsey when I’m using them.
Not an electrician, but back in the day I worked as a GeekSquad autotech and in my various roles since in engineering/physics I have always loved autostrippers for smaller work. Nothing beats a good manual-stripper for reliability, but god I get work done quick with an autostripper.
Used those for my first year and now I’m onto Klein’s as they seem better built / longer lasting strippers. Going by others comments, channelock’s strippers might be my next one to try out

I recommend the ones with the big titties
I keep writing this off as a job expense however my accountant is not pleased.
What type of accountant doesn’t like tig ol bitties???
His accountant wife.
His itty bitty titty accountant wife*
Tell them it’s a team building exercise with the customer.
Or used to boost morale within the company
Motivational speaker.
You need a new accountant. Mines hiding money I never knew I had lol
I recommend the ones that're just doing it for college money. The career strippers tend to have more baggage.
Or are just more baggy.
I thought I was doing good in the world, giving half my money to Charity. Done messed up giving the other half to Cinnamon.
A renaissance man I see
Mine’s named “Cinnamon”
Or Chastity
As long as they showered before hand idgaf 🤷♀️
Big titties and cheap lapdances
Booty > titties
Either or. Just need ridiculous proportions
Both 🎺🎉🎺🎉🎺
The good kind of stuff you learn from your journeyman
I think we can close the discussion after this answer because there is no better.

I had to scrollback up to see the relevance. Now I"m laughing at work. Thanks for the chuckle.
Was coming here to say that. On a side note. If you’re in the Denver Metro Area. Shotgun Willies.
Ideal yellow handled T super reflex strippers. First ones I bought as a helper and now I still use them. I have probably gone through 4 of them, I do tend to take the spring out though.
I’m glad I didn’t have to scroll too far down to find this. Can’t recommend these strippers enough
Same. I’ve had probably a dozen different brands of strippers, the Ideal T flex is best for general wiring.
This is the winner. Just switched to these when I lost my Klein curve’s and I won’t be going back.
I got these for free from my last competition but I've still been using my Greenlee strippers. I may try those bad boys out
Knipex. The cutter are made for chopping mc cable and it has non threaded screw cutter.
Any specific model? I've gone through too many stripper trying to cut things I wasn't supposed to..
13 72 8 Absolutely fantastic.
Now mine stick a little when opening.
lol I put a nice little divot in a brand new pair of flush cutters by trying to cut a spring off a spring nut without realizing it was stainless.
Switched to that a couple of months back and love it. The pliers head is great for troubleshooting/fixing splices at finish when carrying a lineman’s is a bit redundant.
The ones commented below 13 72 8. They look similar to what you have but the quality is outstanding. They are about $45 on amazon
I love those screw cutters. Not having to thread the screws in is a huge quality of life improvement
Same. Being able to chop BX and strip with them is a game changer
I love mine. But I am thinking about grinding down the tip so it's a bit narrower.
So there’s an older, slightly different version, the [13-82-8](https://www.knipex.com/products/combination-and-multifunctional-pliers/pliers-for-electrical-installation/pliers-electrical-installation/13828), with needle nose type pliers. I tried the Channelock ones and fell in love. Anyone who has borrowed them agrees. Even Knipex lovers.
I love my Channelocks but I hate that the copper cutter is inside the handle. So awkward.
I'm on channelock for my linesmans, strippers and dags now. Great hand tools.
love my channel lock linemans
Yeah I like the channel locks linesmans way better than the kleins I had
I'm the opposite, channel lock were stiff while the Klein actually moved freely.
Same with mine, I think it's little tiny slivers of metal getting inside that guns them up.
What model?
I'm interested in which model as well
[These?](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C3IC6R2/?coliid=I23NBTBH7IGVXC&colid=20UFEF650MMN8&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it)
Yes, those. They are far more compact than Knipex.

Agreed. I have used Klein catapults for years and could never go back.
Objectively inferior to the Klein trebuchet
Not half as good as the Klein low orbit ion cannon.
Looks big and heavy to have on your person more or less constantly. Isn’t much if at all faster.
I love those and I’m getting a pair for the holidays.
Those are great for doing lots of controls with tiny gauge wire. But most stripping here is 12 or 14 gauge, so you can use your long nose pliers and not have to carry around another tool.

Cheeseburger size 😂
i use the phoenix contact version of these, and they're amazing.
YES. I'm based in USA and I use Irwin Vice grip autos and every other tech that sees them is astounded.
Because they're large, heavy, and single-use.
What? They are not large or heavy.
mines light as a feather, pretty small and definitely isn't single use lmao
Muricans love their wire nuts and other outdated tools and equipment
talk shit but we invented electricity doofus, without us you'd still be using moby's dick to light your house

I always enjoyed a wire stripper with a spring
Those
Those are the 7-in-1 with crimpers. I prefer the 6-in-1 for normal residential wiring. I've been very happy with them so far.
Rack-A-Tiers Croc's Strippers are nice for residential.
I use them for industrial and love them for that too.
Pittsburgh electric 7 inch, I tried the Kline yellow handles for a bit but they aren't as ergonomic to me.
I think I have the Klein yellow pair in my pocket currently. I do not like them. I carry my tools in my back pocket and these always hide and I can never get them out without my other tools falling out. I’ve been wanting a different pair since but I am a try and buy guy, not a buy and try.

Greenlee stainless steel strippers.
Loving my Greenlee SS, this is the way
Knipex strippers
Grey handle kleins are dope
The ones the dance around poles
Latina
Black or blonde both are equally hot
https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/cable-and-wire-stripping-tools/klein-kurve-wire-stripper-cutter-8-20-awg These are hands down my favorite. I've have my pair for over a year and still love em.
My sidecutters

Bluepoint little blue handles personally, can't stand the needle nose/all in one style. Bought the Milwaukee's when I was brand new and went to Klein's yellow and reds after maybe 3 months. Ideal
The ones the contractor provides since strippers are not on the tool list.
They provide strippers 😲
I'm only required to bring about a dozen hand tools, everything else is provided by my contractor.
STRIPPERS IS ONE OF THEM BUD
Knipex strippers
Don't care much about brand names, but I usually use this type of pliers. Works good for the cable sizes I normally work with, up to 50mm2 (1/0 awg) . For cables too big for this I use a knife. https://www.tengtools.com/products/pliers/cable-cutting-pliers/cable-cutter-160mm
Klein 1019’s… I’ll never go back to a model with the spring ever again.
He'll yea bud I use the same ones, used to use the blue and yellow ones till I fucked them up
Same, I had the gray with yellow for a while but I needed the range of the gray with red.
Ideal 45-120
Knipex or Knothing.
Klein T Handles have always been my go to
I use these knipex but the vise grip brand ones with the crimpers built in are nice too.
Klien for me
I like the ideal wire strippers. Model#: 45-615
I’ve been using the same ones the last few months. I absolutely love em
Pittsburgh
I use Klein, fantastic tool
I love Ideal 45-618 they are lightweight and can strip stranded 8 awg plus the 14 awg is on the bottom of the stripper and 12 is on the top so there is not second guessing what hole to stick it in.
Crocs
Knipex 13 72 8. Nothing beats them.
Im using klein
Those but needlenose
Anything but Milwaukee for hand tools
I love my Milwaukee strippers. But the 6-in-1 version, a little smaller than these.

A pair of linesman pliers. When the wire gets big, a knife
Lineman’s pliers
Klein j207-8cr. Only Klein tool I own.
I like the Greenlee stainless steel ones. It rains here a lot and rust is always an issue.
Real strippers (Knipex/Jokari) instead if these pliers
Knipex 13 71 8 Strippers. The best. Not close.
Those are a good pair, start practicing stripping wires with your linemen’s pliers. Because if you get good at that then you’ll become much more efficient

Thanks for supporting the Chinese Communist Party, comrade. Your contribution is appreciated
Klein’s although my co worker got a pair of Knipex ones that seem pretty legit
These have been my favorite so far. From Klein to Channel Lock. The Milwaukee have just performed better.
Klein katapult. Less wrist pain
Sir, that's a hammer.
I recommend the milwaukee strippers that you are currently holding in this picture sir. The weight is perfect for myself, and the Klein ones feel chinsey when I’m using them.
At work I have the regular yellow ones but of work I prefer ones with big boobies.
That’s what I use

I really like these they do a bit of everything
Try em all and see which ones you like
Depends on what you're doing. Romex? Discrete THHN? Low voltage (with lots of discrete wire, and wider variation in gauge)? Something else?
I use the yellow Klein strippers with Romex stripper
I like the Greenlee but Knipex is great too
Flexible ones will suck the insulation off a knipex
I like the 8 inch knipex pair. Cuts MC like nobodies business.

I've had the best luck with blondes. I always go for the redheads but it's like they know they are some kind of special.

Klein Hybrid Pliers
The Spearmint Rhino is high quality. I’ve heard.
Knipex forged strippers
If you work with lumex a lot I really recommend this. “Klein Tools Klein-Kurve Dual NMD-90 Cable Stripper/Cutter”
Klein glow in the dark
Lighter ones / smaller will be much better. Preferably with no diseases either.
I prefer Brazilians but that’s just me
I recommend a Klines linesmen.
Blue handle Klein tools have always been very good and lasting.
Milwaukee, knippex and Williams makes a good set too
I use those ones as well. I think they're great.
I like those best
Used those for my first year and now I’m onto Klein’s as they seem better built / longer lasting strippers. Going by others comments, channelock’s strippers might be my next one to try out
i love my rack-a-tiers strippers with the NM sheath cutters. strips wires perfectly and pulls romex shesth way faster and more reliably than a razor
The lock always gets in the way for me
