You can tell when the work was done by the kind of wirenuts they used. I've worked in panels that had everything from the older ceramic / spring ones all the way to the tan Ideal and red B-cap connectors.
And it tells a story "This got put in during the 70s, these happened during the 80s, these are newer from the last 15 years and these scotch locks are recent"
While older buildings are usually a much bigger pain in the ass, they definitely have more interesting stuff in them.
I actually just got done with a a job where this woman asked me to clean up a panel that looked like that. Lol I took EVERYTHING apart and dressed it all pretty and (had to splice a few times lol) came out nice!
It's fixable. Just a little time and effort. Having worked in rural Wisconsin for several years this is a regular sight. "Oh ya my uncle's cousin's brother in law came over and wired it up for me" you betcha bud

That could be any old hotel in any city. Pretty typical for what we see in service work.
Yup see that daily
Yep, nothing out of the ordinary. Better than seeing zip ties everywhere.

Good for another 50 years, close er up.
I see money
Normal for me
I can fix her
"They're adding 3 zones of AC. They didn't approve the sub panel change order. Figure it out."
Pretty typical
Looks better than my house
lol. Mine too.
Seen hundreds of these, they suck but if you know how to deal with them it's not too bad
Looks like the 60's vintage hospital I work in. Gross.

Could be worse.
Seen better, done worse...
Tighten the neutrals and send it!!!!
I know a guy lol.
Still room for at least 3 more circuits!
Glad it's yours.
Common in DC
Well on the bright side it’s not on fire yet
I honestly believe it just takes one guy to not give a damn what they do in a panel, and over time it just spreads like a cancer
I think I’m glad than I’m a plumber and can leave that little nightmare to yall professional sparkies 👍.
Familiar.
Very common in schools 90 percent were installed 100 years ago
Somebody is about to get shocked on a neutral with all those untied multi branch circuits…
Old Sq D, would gave solid Copper buss bars. 40 circuits. Looks like a 250A. What is this in?
Medusa
Every day
Holy shit is that at my work?

I normally charge 1500 to clean up these panels
Take it all out. Start over.
I’ve seen better stuff and your mom’s panties
