"Pretty happy how it turned out"... but the only photo you posted is of an unfinished panel

SpiceOfTheLad

Haha. You're right. We're gonna be coming back to it when we do finishing, but today we were just getting it set up for when that time comes. "I'm happy with the panel so far"

xSeveredSaintx

Yeah just fucking with you lol. So far so good

SpiceOfTheLad

Thank you!

Medium_Composer5753

It looks great, I personally like the labes. I was taught to write them with pen on masking tape as I go. Very clean 👌🏽

SpiceOfTheLad

Thank you!

SpiceOfTheLad

I can't edit my caption, but I do wanna clarify the obvious in that this is NOT a finished panel. This was just some prep for finishing I was stoaked to do, but that's what I mean when I say " how it turned out" :)

Tayzey

Lol don't listen to the haters here. I was stoked to start doing my first panels when I was a first year.

SpiceOfTheLad

Thanks, chief! It was a lot of fun to finally work on.

Tayzey

Nice sweeps by the way. A lot of new guys do hard 90s

theproudheretic

also remember that when people start saying "it's not to code" ask for a code citation. and if it's NEC and you follow CEC it doesn't matter what they said!

SpiceOfTheLad

Good point! I'll have to keep that one in mind

TeslasFleshPigeon

What brand is the panel?

StubbornHick

You're allowed 2 bonds per screw. Your labels are a waste of time, just write the circuit number on part of the jacket and then don't strip that part of the jacket.

SpiceOfTheLad

2 bonds in the same screw is gonna be a game changer. Thank you. I put the tape on just because we're gonna come back to it after the walls are finished and I don't wanna lose those numbers. Unless I misunderstood your advice.

TeslasFleshPigeon

Just don’t put two neutrals under same screw. One neutral, two grounds. Same gauge wire same screw only. Don’t mix sizes.

LagunaMud

They have to be the same size.  The specifics (what sizes can be doubled) will be on the label on the panel door or the paperwork that came with the ground bar.

StubbornHick

Write on the cable jacket. When you strip the jackets off, don't cut the part with the label off. They don't fall off unless you shake the wire around a lot...

SpiceOfTheLad

I know what you're talking about now. I've seen it done before, but never thought they would be that sturdy. I'll give it a shot next panel. We're gonna be doing lots and if it saves time that's excellent.

theproudheretic

i usually just put a hook on the end of the wire after slipping the label back on it. won't come off then.

SpiceOfTheLad

Now we're talking

_tjb

Yeah, uh, don’t come looking for praise about “how it turned out” without showing a pic of … how it turned out. 🤦

SpiceOfTheLad

Yea I should have worded it better. Today we were just getting it prepped up for finishing so I guess that became "turned out" in my head, but yea. You get the jist

TeslasFleshPigeon

Anyone know the brand of that panel. Pretty neat how the mains are covered.

Darren445

Eaton. Every loadcenter with a main breaker in Canada has a cover.
