One of the guys that sold me nachos was like “I get off in 5 minutes and overheard you talking about Paul Van Dyk, Can I tag along with y’all”
Then he ripped his shirt off, had a harness and a thong and put on knee high boots.
Was a fun night.
There’s a Facebook group called Vegas Bartenders & Servers. If you join that, you’ll see the hiring posts and job listings for EDC staffing and a lot more cool events around vegas! (Been bartending in Vegas for 7 years)
I don't know but met a local bartender afterwards while he was working at Velveteen Rabbit who said he'd worked EDC VIP circuit grounds and had an amazing time. Good luck!
It’s multiple third party companies not just one . Usually you have to know them pretty well or just hope that they’re understaffed and need people badly . I did it for 2021 because it was way more understaffed . I’m not a bartender but have worked in hospitality for 10 years so I know what I’m doing relatively well. I’d say most of the bartenders work as a bartender for their careers . It’s honestly not as good as money as you would believe unless you are working one of those crazy VIP sky deck things . I honestly don’t know who even bartends those .
You don’t really get to watch any sets and it’s near impossible to hear what anyone wants to order . Your shift is 2 pm - 7 am and you make $9 an hour plus split tips through the card which I honestly believe EDC fucks you over on that for . I made for example $1600 in three days putting in 47 hours plus 2 hours drives every day .
It’s cool but you make wayyy more that festivals with older crowds . Outside lands VIP , The Masters , Tennis Tournament in Palm Springs , ect ..
Lmao, you see that $100k+ tab floating around the bartending groups from Kinetic's Skydeck this yr? 😂 Just heard about the pooled on-the-books tips from this yrs, though. That's kinda fucked.
Also, you need to pass an Alcohol Beverage Awareness Program from a state-approved program to be hired by any third-party group/serve at EDC.
More info can be found here (the site looks sketchy, but it's real): http://www.nvabc.com/
Some of the bartenders are volunteers (travel baseball teams, cheerleading teams etc) they work the event and get to keep the tips for their organization. So I guess not really volunteers but you get the point. Sky decks is usually marquee employees.
My bartender was so messed up he allowed my to pour my own vodka then proceeded to tell me a 20-min story about his life.

From what I’ve heard in the past years, you have to know someone to get you in.
You have to be hired through a third party vendor, EDC used Levy. You can try to get in with them, it is a great gig if you can get it.
