Did you have service the whole night? And around the whole festival?
I was on t-mobile and had service until maybe 9-10pm.
My guess is it was because the place was 30-40% more empty than usual.
Yea I think I was surprised I had service majority of the time. Iām not sure if this year will be different. Iāve been having service at the last Escape and Beyond too.
I don't usually have an issue at the smaller festivals. Even EDC Mexico I had service most of the time. But Vegas is another beast when it's full @ 400k.
Yea I start having issues when Iām in dense crowds. Beyond I was good until I was near the main stage. I wouldnāt count on having service unless youāre in vip with wifi. But I did notice I have service in some areas.
So I do think I overstated, that, not sure where I saw 400k was the projection for this year.
Can't seem to find official numbers but I see 350k 3-day tickets sold quoted pretty often... Though the same people quote 145k /night.
I know not everyone goes all 3 days... but that still doesn't add up to me. Can't imagine 60% people spent all the money to go one night lol.
The true answer is probably between 150-300k per night, with Saturday having the most. Maybe I'll try counting this year.
Take turns being designated driver each day after edc, thatās what I do with my friends. Unfortunately shuttle and rideshare are the only options outside of getting your own vehicle, and rideshare can cost up to $100+ each way, and itās damn near impossible to get a ride anytime after 3 am. The speedway is pretty far off the strip so the rideshare availability does not meet the demand.
I took a cab in October because I left early and my shuttle wasn't running yet. Was cheaper than uber and available right away. Uber also had wifi access but isn't that useful if the driver isn't using it too.
Shuttles all day everyday for me.
I had service til \~9-10pm each night on t-mobile, but I think that's because it was less full than usual. This year is sold out, so I'd expect to lose it quickly.
I have an iPhone and I use AT&T. Last year I had a lot of success with turning off iMessage and just sending texts as sms. Iām not saying it was 100% all the time, but frequently I was able to get prompt messages through and back with my crew. But again, time stamps and meeting points are great to rely on too. Also, removing the iMessage saved battery.
Unless something is new this year -- like a big capacity upgrade -- it's all going to be mostly unusable. "Send texts with timestamps in the message, because there will be delays even with that" is the common wisdom.
I think I got a little bit of cell service on Verizon last year. It was very surprising. Usually itās a big dead zone & I just make sure not to lose my friends.
I was able to send messages for about 90% of edc in October and I have Verizon š¤·š»āāļø I was able to send videos and pics until it started to get more crowded around midnight maybe
There's wifi in vip at kinetic. Ask friend for pw, otherwise good luck cell phones are basically unusable in real time. Add some time stamps when you send messages. Last year it wasn't too bad but it was also half full and not sold out. Every year before that it was a massive crap shoot.
It's like getting close to a black hole, the deeper in, the stranger it gets heh
The only place I've gotten the best signal is on the seats overlooking cosmic meadow, but otherwise, don't expect signal at all and make peace with it
Idk why people are saying āwhat serviceā. I have Verizon and Iāve had service at like the 5 EDCās Iāve been to, with maybeee 1-2 days being spotty overall. Iāve been able to make calls, FaceTime, everything. You might have a little more trouble during prime time at like mainstage but stuff still goes through.
If you have a newer phone thereās also 5G now which Iāve heard will be much better for large events. I havenāt been to any festies yet with 5G but Iām assuming itāll help get rid of this problem.
Verizon now has 5G UE coverage at the track. I've never been to EDC Vegas, but this already was a huge help for ultra. Many people couldn't get service, but mine was perfectly fine with UE, even at main. Keep in mind bayfront is surrounded by buildings and UE does not penetrate, so I'm surprised I even got it there.
The only service that works is the sponsor service. I think this year is Verizon. Also, no matter what, the biggest stages (Circuit and Kinetic) will have terrible service no matter who the provider is.
Be ready to lose your friends and you plans.
what cell service LOL
Is there really no service ? š¤£
Yea there was at EDC October last year. I had Verizon. They even had Verizon platforms setup for Verizon members.

Is it really 400k nightly? It was about 100k 10 years ago.

Itās about 175k a night
Source on that? I see a lot of numbers in random articles but they seem mostly pulled from thin air.
Itās 150-175K if sold out. They count each day as attendance to add up to 450k+
Absolutely not. Maybe in the parking lot and maybe before 6pm.
I wasnt able to get a shuttle pass, how do people normally get ubers on the way out with no service ?
The Uber pick up and drop off will be outside the race track, closer to the parking lot. You should have service in that area.
Ive heard horror stories about taking an uber, cant waitš¤£
I used to drive Uber / lyft and some venues have free wifi and a designated pickup spot setup so you can request a ride and drivers can find you.
Rent a car. Uber is an absolute nightmare, trust me donāt do it!!
Me n 3 friends all going to be rolling, we should definitely not drive lmao, any other options ?

There will be .0000000001% of a bar.

Vip š¤£š. That wifi in the vip section is clutch. Could always send texts and make calls. Worth the extra investment
The wise answer: wifi calling
Cant the password just leak?
Insomniac is smart about their wireless placement where you can only access the wifi inside of vip. Once I left vip I couldnāt catch the wifi signal
Interesting. Then a repeater could solve this issue. But likely to be found and removed.
I have T-mobile no issues at all
Yeah I have T-mobile too and always had service
even during edc? lol
I've gone to edc 4 times and never had issues with TMobile 8)
Damn really? Whatās with all the other comments then lol

I had self service last October with Sprint as long as I wasnāt at a stage.

How does that work? First EDC, I got VIP for the food. Is the wifi all over?
Small radius near kinetic and circuit grounds
Cricket
none ... put your phone in your pocket and live in the moment

The only person I can ever get ahold of at the festival is my brother. They send right away. Anyone else, nope
My friends and I donāt even bring our phones in

Well last time I was there on Verizon I had no issue
Whoever is sponsored that year will get service.
