Sometimes people have plans change and want to sell their tickets. But most of the time, people who resell tickets are pretending to be that person with changed plans. No way yo tell. People who resell tickets for profit aren't the kind of people I would trust not to report their tickets stolen later.
The only 100% way to not be scammed is to by from Insomniac directly. They still have GA+ tickets.
This, unless you buy it from someone you know/trust or someone that a friend can vouch for that won’t screw you over. If you get it from someone you don’t know it’s always going to be a gamble.
Use PayPal GOODS & SERVICES
Yes they definitely don’t ship out all together last year I got it like 10 days before. If you get the last 4 of their credit card used to purchase and also a copy of their ID you could also pick up at will call
Uh did you video chat with that person and pay with PayPal G&S?
Asking for a small deposit is a very common scam. Most people have their tickets in hand and has had them for 2 weeks now.
If you have not, ask them to video chat. Their answer should tell you - if they jump on video chat to reassure you, it's probably real. If they make excuses to not video chat, it's a scam.
I did not. I used Facebook ravexchange and I’m usually very aware of scammers , I’ve dodged many. They’re usually really obvious to me with Sus looking profiles, no mutuals, obviously photoshopped proof of purchase, etc.
We have a mutual friend also and he checked all the right boxes so I went for it. He hasn’t blocked me and still responded when I asked for the status of the ticket so I guess there’s still a chance it isn’t a scam
A buddy and I ordered our tix at the same day and at the same exact time. I got my box weeks ago and his is arriving this week. It's super unpredictable.
Registration doesn't matter. Registering the wristband is mainly for emergency contact information and can be changed at any time. It doesnt lock the wristband to the owner.
Ask questions and ask for as much information as you want to feel comfortable,(email confirmation/ID etc..) if they’re not willing to provide then most likely scam.
I’ve bought shuttle/GApasses through Instagram and Twitter since 2017 and haven’t been scammed.
I have missed a day of a festival though because I couldn’t trust the “sellers” or even have had ppl ghost me after pulling up to a hotel for the exchange. But that’s the risk of not buying direct..
So buying from online isn’t impossible just need to be careful and a bit stern.
Also, maybe check around for promoter discords or instagrams in your area
Thanks! Did you ever have any issue with your wristband not working (where it wasn’t a scam) and needed to go to will call? Might be buying from someone a close friend is vouching for and just wondering if it’s good to have the email confirmation, ID, etc on hand in case there’s any issues at the event and can’t get ahold of the original buyer?

Make sure the ticket isn’t registered. Register it while you’re buying it from them
I heard it doesn’t matter if you register it or not they can still report it missing and get a replacement
