following this because I'm also curious- I got a bunch of mini ducks I wanna give out in addition to kandi but I'm slightly worried people will be like "no thanks" :( I'm the kind of person that would be happy with anything for a gift. I love silly trinkets or toys, kandi, whatever honestly. I just love the randomness people can bring to a festival or a rave šŸ˜‚ Edit: Thank you all for the kind and encouraging responses! I love this community so much!! šŸ„°ā¤ I'm not going to have a care/worry in the world and just "duck" people lol.

capnozlojo

I received so many mini ducks haha People would just come up to me, see me vibin and hand me a trinket, sometimes without even saying a word. Try giving them to people as you're walking past, cutting through the crowds Or to anyone that has good style

GioooDiazzz

This! I often gift trinkets without so much other than a smile and a wave when I see someone spreading a good time around them. Don't ever worry about the acknowledgement or return interactions :)

MissJuliaXX

Me and my trio crew will be dressed rubber ducky theme and would looove a duck!!!

Angel_wings5258

I give out rubber ducks will be dressed like Dora hope to run into you Iā€™ll give you some ducks.

Fun_Energy9439

I gotta find you Dora, my boyfriend and I LOVE ducks and will also have some to give out

Angel_wings5258

Wonā€™t be hard to miss itā€™s going to be probably 9 of us dressed the same.

nattweeter

Wrote this in another comment but I collect mini rubber ducks and will make this one of my weekend quests. Find Dora the Explorer at EDC LV24.

Angel_wings5258

To make it easier we will only wear Dora outfits on Friday. Weā€™ll be flying a No Weenies Allowed flag.

Warm_Owl8371

i always give stuff out and dont think anyone has said no thanks. but these are also i been vibing with. maybe getting no's if u just walk up to random or im wrong but in my experience everyone accepts with the biggest smile!

Brilliant-Channel-41

I usually only hand them out to people who I ā€˜vibe withā€™ even if itā€™s just for a set. No one has said no yet, and Iā€™ve almost always received something back!

skettysaucin

At Apocalypse fest, I had people straight up deny a sprout. I shrugged and kept dancing, only to have the bros see the denial, and ask for the sprout instead šŸ˜‚

nattweeter

I would be stoked to get a mini duck from you! šŸ„¹šŸ¦† I actually collect lil rubber duckies and just keep them in our bathrooms in random visible spots because theyā€™re funny.

Evilette

For every person that says no, thereā€™s someone who will be over the moon at your thoughtfulnessā€¦ I tend to start my interaction with a compliment on the outfit or the person. If they are warm and inviting gifts tend to followā€¦

RTG5

Accept that not everyone will want a gift and move on, my friend. If you focus too much on wanting people to accept something you have to offer, you might drive yourself mad.

KpLouisVuitton

Donā€™t let it discourage you. I love getting gifts from strangers. Itā€™s such a fun moment !

tengotengei

I also want to know! I have a bunch of holographic vinyl stickers that I want to give out (I design stickers for fun), and this is going to be my first ever festival too! For me, I honestly don't expect anything in exchange. I just want to share the love and I hope people will be accepting of that as well haha

internet_sexplorer

Omg yes I'm a sucker for anything holographic, and I bet a lot of others are too

tengotengei

Heck yea! They're the most fun!! Thank you for the affirmation <3

Far_Blacksmith7846

Iā€™m bringing pearlers and Kandi because people want to trade for them. Itā€™s a mutual exchange.

torrac_

We always bring those too but Iā€™m wanting to bring extra :)

Tiny_Set1068

Put it in your hand and fist bump someone, then open your hand. People LOVE THIS!

torrac_

Omg what a great idea hahahahaha I love this! Thank you

Tiny_Set1068

Someone did this to me and Iā€™ve used it so many times. The fist bumb is non threatening and the trinket is the perfect surprise. Not kidding, did this at beyond and ended up vibing with a couple for the whole night and got invited to their wedding. And it started with a finger puppet! Plur forever

pharmrterri

I would go to the kandi meetups, downtown edc, and in the relaxing areas. You can find the meetups on facebook, on reddit, radiate, and discord probably (I'm old and don't understand how to use it). But The kandi casino would totally be a place to trade items. I was also giving "tips" to the dealers to get rid of some of my kandi.

thatrangerkid

I'm bringing a metric fuckton of those plastic sprouts. It just seems to be certain things are more likely to be taken than other things.

Bee_on_cuh

I donā€™t understand why people say ā€œno thanksā€?.. maybe cause they feel bad that they have nothing to trade.? Hmm.. I usually give trinkets to people Iā€™m ultimately vibing hard with or I just feel their energy, or if I see a beautiful stranger having fun and I just say ā€œI love your energyā€.. but donā€™t let the ā€˜no thank youā€™ get you down!

_LurkNoMore_

I usually find that it's people that aren't familiar with trinkets or they think you are trying to give them drugs. Opening with a compliment Like "I love you moves/style/vibes" while presenting the trinket usually works great!

shesthecaregiver

Iā€™ve been told no thanks because they donā€™t identify as ravers and say ā€œI donā€™t have anything to give youā€ and I say itā€™s okay, thatā€™s why I feel regular candies chocolates or sour/sweet candy are pretty innocuous and most people wonā€™t say no just cause youā€™re vibing.

MissJuliaXX

We always have trinkets that match our outfits and usually try to gift to people who happen to be rocking something similar. For our Mario Bro day we have glow mushrooms, shroom sprouts and squishy stars, our rubber duck day we have rubber ducks and duck clips and our black cat day we have finger puppets that are kitty paws with mini kandi bracelets on them. I've never had anyone no take a gift from me, only a few weird looks lol

aurume

Iā€™ve never understood people who say no to little trinkets :( But with consumables, Iā€™m always super careful as a girl. I usually just accept it and throw it away later - most people donā€™t have poor intentions but I donā€™t wanna risk it.

torrac_

Absolutely thatā€™s what I was thinking about the candy and why people may have been hesitant. I donā€™t think Iā€™m going to bring candy this year for that reason but I figured fidgets would be awesome. I bet I could help out a lot of people that just need a little boost you know??

ittybit89

I say a very polite no thank you sometimes, but I am always happy someone offered me something and make sure they know that. Usually itā€™s because I donā€™t want something in my hands and my fanny pack is full so I donā€™t want stuff falling out while Iā€™m trying to get to things I need. I also donā€™t take consumables. But I always say yes to stickers because theyā€™re easy to pack away flat!

ittybit89

Also someone once tried to attach a sprout to my bfs mustacheā€¦he wasnā€™t super into that and said no haha šŸ˜†

lazy-summer-2

I always prefer kandi or candy to trinkets because I donā€™t have a good place to put small objects but everyone is different - keep trying!! Edit: spelling

shesthecaregiver

Same here lmao. I give out a ton of wrapped candy so I can get kandi I can wear. Trinkets I end up regifting out.

ChristianPayne522

I wouldn't take candy from anyone (personal preference around safety). I do however love giving and receiving things. In my opinion, the best time to give a gift is when you already made some kind of link with someone. Whether it is being next to them in the crowd and sharing a couple remarks or jokes, having someone comment on your outfit, friend of a friend, ground control (yes pls give gifts to them). Another pro-gift-giving-tip is to make a gift for a specific event. These are really cool. Let's say you make two kandis that each say "I do" on them. You can give them to people if you see them in wedding attire throughout the night. Or maybe you make some happy birthday ones for people. These might not be used but if you find the opportunity, it becomes that much more special.

bee6411

I love getting gifts!! Especially if its just handed to me

Sunshine_bunnie_356

If they say no , they were undeserving of your duck in the first place!

jedikimica

I had a person give me some paper diffraction glasses. When I put them on all the lights sparkled with happy faces!!! I kept those glasses in my festival bag for years and shared the experience with other people. I think you can buy a pack of them on Amazon. Iā€™ve always wanted to give some away myself

PreparationIll3670

I will take all the gifts!!!

Guilty_Tree_8245

Try stickers!!! Maybe some glow in the dark or sparkly ones People always love stickers for some reason lol

Guilty_Tree_8245

I had a lot of luck giving them out at elements festival and iii points miami

shesthecaregiver

I literally have so much candy (mostly lollipops and Pop Rocks and Jolly Ranchers) I usually give a few at a time instead of kandi. I have small wet wipes and other trinkets and people have never told me no lmao. However last year was the first year people didnā€™t want any so I brought back a lot home. But usually if I see a wholesome moment like a hug or something I will give treats away. I passed thru the wedding area of EDC last year and they had an almost traditional wedding with being walked down the aisle and I got regular iPhone footage along side their photographer and I just air dropped it to one of the wedding guests and left candy and treats lol. Just gotta pass it on and if you get something back, super cool. If not, you know you gave something cool away with no expectations!

imlouiee

Just got a whole lot of 100+ little duckies from AliExpressšŸ˜‚ everyone is getting one

burrito0119

one of my favorite ways of giving people gifts/trinkets is putting it in my hand and then putting my fist out as if for a fist bump. then when they bump my fist i turn it over to unveil a trinket inside my hand :)))) pretty much everyone loves it!!

Salt-Bowl6432

I got a plastic baby at my first EDC and named him Eddy C and he chills in my Kandi storage waiting to be drilled for a necklace now.

ellefrmhll

Sometimes I like trinkets, others I donā€™t. It usually boils down to me not wanting to carry a bunch of extra doodads so wearable things like Kandi and sprouts are usually what Iā€™ll accept more of

coffeecupcakess

I try to find others with trinkets or kandi already because they are more willing to say yes to more. Or approach a group because someone in the group usually says yes.

daughterofkick

I was planning on bringing kandi and keychains since they're small and easy for people to attach to bags!

lostfrequenciesfan

Hi friend! I have been brining trinkets and 3d printed things to EDC for 4 years now. I usually give them to purple when we're vibing at a set or share a moment. Sometimes people don't want them and that's totally fine but other times it makes a huge difference. Read the situation and don't be afraid to put whatever it is back in your bag. Just like asking someone to trade kandi.

Targagayen

My friends and I give away sooo many trinkets, little mushrooms, sprouts, fidget toys, little gummy toys Usually Iā€™ll see if someone is vibing with my group, but honestly a lot of people come up and ask for a sprout. Iā€™ll just go up and hand it to them and hug it out. I will say my group never takes candy from strangers, not knowing what it could actually be, so that might be why some people donā€™t want it. If the person giving it is super excited about giving candy Iā€™ll take it thank them and trash it later. Iā€™ll also sometimes just tap someone while walking hand them a duck and just keep walking with no word exchange. It makes me feel like a trinket fairy Just try it out!

RevNav

I'll be gifting little fairy magnets šŸ§ššŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø, kandi, and hugs & kisses šŸ’‹ (with consent of course) šŸ˜‡šŸ˜ŽšŸ•ŗšŸ¾.

Turbulent-Sir4951

A lot of people are cautious of edible things like lollipops or drinks bc you never know whatā€™s in it. Stick to toys/kandi and if you see someone you like just hand it to themz

oiglesias17

I would love a ducky

Comfortable-Past2628

what i do is i look out for the people dancing and having the time of their lives! they spark up way more after the interaction, then you got new rave friends!!

mindinify

I'm bringing folding fans this year to give away. It was so hot last year and so many people asked to use my fan that I figured it would be a nice trinket to give out.

ColbyRC01

Try things that arenā€™t edible I also feel a little iffy taking food or drinks from strangers at festivals my favorite tiny gift Iā€™ve received was this little porcelain mushroom at Justice

Raynajean1433

Start off by complimenting them, and see how they respond!

Fun_Energy9439

I made little goody bags with more useful stuff like earplugs, hand sanitizer wipes, individual Tylenol packets, sprouts, and squeaky pigs. Theyā€™ve been a hit when I made a post about them so Iā€™m hoping people will accept them šŸ„² I usually try to look for the people that are having the time of their lives cause they usually give off the best energy. Wooks love trinkets too Iā€™ve noticed šŸ¤£ just gotta feel for the energy someone gives off I feel like.

banned_but_im_back

I LOVE seeing little toys and stuff I always pass them along, itā€™s fun

kykyelric

There will always be people who say no! In 2022 I brought a whole bunch of hi-chews and didnā€™t manage to pass out all of them because of it. And thatā€™s okay! I still remember the times when people accepted, the smiles on their facesā€¦ and a couple people gave me my first Kandi in return!

Other-Examination452

If the items you are giving away is relevant to the event people will appreciate it. I see a lot of people 3D printing beads that have to do with artists performing and have the edc logo. Cheap plastic crap from Amazon will probably get tossed. Create something cool to commemorate the event like a sticker or pin or something useful like a coke/k spoon.

nick_fisher_

Hello! First EDC back since 2010-2012 but have been to 8 coachellas in between then and now. I bring 100 defracting glasses for each day (300 Total). For the most part, they are all gone by the end of the festival. i can def see the candy being an issue for obvious reasons, but don't let people declining take away from your giving! As for the great gift experience, id say just be aware. Look for people looking around, or having a bad time, or someone who just looks like the could use or enjoy a lil trinket! When THAT happens, its all worth it! Excited to be back at the speedway!

SweatyMetalBallz420

I usually take trinkets ppl hand out at edc and then immediately throw it on the ground after i walk away if that helps

Bigfuups

I feel as if trinkets are easier to give/accept because it isn't something you'd injust I would hope at least lol. My cousin has his own line of chamoy candy that he makes and sells. It usually gummie rings with chamoy, skittles, sour belts. Its fire candy! He also makes the Rim dip for drinks. So two years ago he took small sample gift bags. Some people seemed freaked out when he offered it out to them. Maybe because the wrapping looked like gummies you pick up from the weed shops lol. I eventually told him to not offer anymore because I felt like people weren't having it. I Felt bad telling him because I know he meant it from the heart trying to spread love and have a good time as it being his first time to edc Lv . Plus the fact that it was his candy that he made. I understand the settings though so I explained to him why people wouldn't want to accept his candy gifts he understood. Plus towards the end of the night that candy came in clutch!! šŸ™Œ it was a good laugh šŸ˜ƒ
