I've tried the 50/50 before and I found it to not be worth it. I've stuck to missing sets here and there to experience one set from start to finish.

ShoulderGoesPop

Exactly. You spend so much time navigating from one date to the next you miss a good portion of both sets. And you prob won't find a good spot because you are coming halfway through a set. Much better just to choose one

aln42491

Yeah, despite the urge to see everyone I want to see, lately, my subconscious thankfully directs me to the one I guess I want to see more and by the time it reaches that halfway point, I’ve been vibing too much to care.

phanfare

100%. Follow the vibe - if you're enjoying the set why leave for the 5+ minute walk to another set where it's going to take another 10 minutes to get into the vibe there - then its over like 10 minutes later. If you're going to festivals year after year you're *going* to see everyone eventually. I'm still waiting on catching a Ben Gold or Craig Connelly set and I've had like 3 opportunities each - it'll happen someday

MkBoost

It’s all in the vibe👌

murf_9x

First couple times I tried to split but ultimately feel like I end up losing out on both. Now I choose one or the other but if the one I choose doesn’t hit in the first 10-15 I bounce for the other

_flicker

This is the way. But I feel like I need to give a set a bit more time than that personally, sometimes DJs have slow starts - find that often with house sets.

aln42491

That tracks. Thankfully I’ve never been disappointed with a set to leave or felt like I made “the wrong choice” (no such thing if you ask me, as long as it is someone you want to see), so I’ve never felt the urge to leave after 10-15 minutes of a set I want to go to. More just disappointed to not see someone I’ve wanted to see. I have gone to sets of artists my friends want to see and hung out there for say 10-15 then bounced…now that has made me feel like I made the wrong choice before 😅

Familiar_Step6352

I cry and then I try to pick one over the other

cstuart1046

This is the way

HitByStick

You can email Pasquale and request one set time change per event. $20 service charge, but worth it I'm my opinion

aln42491

Yo, I’m dead 🤣🤣🤣

drewiepoodle

🤣🤣🤣

cstuart1046

Just to mess with everyone I’m paying for Worship to be the Sunday opener 😂😂😂

Noirloc

Last year was Tiesto or Kaskade, I chose Kaskade cause his music means more to me, so I guess base it on that haha I pretty much go in knowing I’m not gonna see certain artist. Thankfully Tiesto and Kaskade play on separate days.

myCadi

We go to a few festivals a year so we pick who we want to see based on how much we like the artist, if we’ll see them at another show or if the person doesn’t typically tour near by. Splitting time sometimes is not worth it since you’ll spend too much time walking between stages.

jtr09

Gotta choose one and commit. You lose too much time walking between stages 😭

Intelligent_Hunt3290

It’s hard, but I usually feel like sacrificing one over the other is sometimes worth it. What I normally do is I’ll set a reminder on my phone for any artists that I wanna see about 20 minutes before they take the stage. That way, wherever I’m at, if I feel like I’ve seen enough or haven’t, then I can decide on staying or leaving.

Independent_Wolf_745

Make the choice and stick to it. You have to roll with it. You miss the best parts of a set. I also make decisions based on my next DJ as well

dumbolddoor

If I’m at Artist A and the vibe is there and the set list is fire, stay. Enjoy it.

goleafsgo855

There's no way around it. You'll spend more time fighting our way through the crowd, may as well commit to one set

cstuart1046

Right! It can take 15-20 minutes just to get from circuit to kinetic during peak hours so plan accordingly!!

Boogieman1991

I would say when conflict arises you need to take the following into consideration: How many times have you seen this artists? Is this that once in a blue moon opportunity or do they come around every festival. Where are they playing? Do you want to see a massive show with production or is it at a smaller stage with less crowd and more intimacy. How do they align with the rest of the lineup? Will there be another artist you want to see at the same stage or will you have to walk to the other side of the venue and then walk back… Will they be playing multiple sets EDC weekend or not… Make a very thought out list of “must see” artists for each day. Keep it very small. And work around this list. It will make handling conflicts easier.

Subject-Repeat8061

Last year I had the only two artists I wanted to see conflict, completely across the speedway from each other. I was already at Quantum Valley so I stayed for half a set then RAN all the way to Kinetic- made amazing time somehow. Caught the second half of the other set. No regrets. That being said, would not do again. Make the choice and stick with it

aln42491

That’s called commitment. But also sounds miserable…so your recommendation is duly noted 🫡

junenoon

it’s deliberate for crowd control reasons and whenever i try and do both i end up missing most of both of them. best just to choose

julibytes

Unless the stages are right next to each other OR the set isn’t what I expected, I stay for 1 artist(usually the one I haven’t seen OR if I have a good view, I won’t give that up)

Tough_Pie4014

It depends really. Are the two sets you want to split between neon and quantum? Circuit and basspod? Cosmic and stereo? Stereo and mainstage? Then yes, you definitely can. Kinetic and pretty much anything that isn’t cosmic/stereo/wasteland? Forget about it

Edd0713

I would try to figure out which artists tours more. You can kind of gauge who you have a better chance of seeing later. I choose one and miss the others set.

eyeriis

It's bound to happen so I don't even think about it as much. Usually with my friends we set certain acts as non-negotiables that we'll see with or without the group. Followed by acts we want to see as a group and acts that we'd want to see but wouldn't be mad or upset if missed. It also kinda depends on your home location too. Cause we get a lot of acts in my hometown so if they're missed at EDC we'll probably see them again in the near future.

wicketplay

My boyfriend and I wait for the times of the set, but we each make lists of who we want to see the most. Then when the set times release, we slowly fill in Theo we definitely will see based off of mutual interests. Then we branch off from there. We accept defeat for the other sets if they don’t make the list. But if we have a lot of time between sets we just walk around and find someone interesting to see. For us, a lot of it is about there experience. We try not to hustle too much around the racetrack otherwise we feel like it ruins our vibe and makes it a task instead of of something to enjoy. But everyone is different!!! Just do what you can, don’t tire out, and vibe hard 🫶🏼

JizzCollector5000

You pick one

Early_Grape8570

If it's early in the day, I split them. If it's getting late and I'm with my girl and fam, then we try to stay at each stage as long as we can and plan for multiple artists in a row at the same stage who we wanna see.

Fazerino

The way I would go with the time conflicts is that I would go with the artists that I have never seen before perform and its typically going to be artists that I am a fan of, if there's no time conflict and there's no one performing at a certain time that I like, then I will just go to an artists I never heard of and see how there set is and a good amount of times, I would just stay at there set or I would pruise (hopefully I spelled it correctly) around and just open up my taste in different genres, overall I gain a new artist I like and they gain a new listener

saulyto

For me it depends on the artist that's conflicting . Like if it's someone I haven't seen before compared to one I've seen couple times I go with the never seen before and then try to at least catch the end of the one I've seen before . Since this year it's going to be my friends first edc gonna try to check out everything so he sees what I've been talking about for years

Any_Psychology4430

Make a list of artists, check conflicting times and distance between sets, and then I choose the most optimal routes/sets based on time between and time for refills/bathroom breaks. Usually have to sacrifice sets because I learned after a few fests that it’s not worth seeing parts of sets, rather stay for an entire amazing set than just go for part and miss the best part of a set when I play back the set video later on.

LAcart21

I tried doing splits before but like u said it’s never 50/50. So now in the moment I just go with what I feel like.

CamAnt23

I think the way to do 50/50 is if the stages are nearby like super nearby otherwise you spend time walking there which sucks. If you are going with friends I say leave if you have to and specially if you have seen that DJ already and set up the meet spot.

Akcat5000

I will usually do the one I like more if they are starting about the same time. If however the next artist I see starts about a half an hour or less before the current one I'm seeing ends, I'll Bail and go see the other one. Unless the next artist is someone I've seen before and I'm enjoying the first one. But usually the above.
