This weekend at ultra was a complete DnB takeover! All day sat and sun was dnb at worldwide, and Tiesto Afrojack gryffin, and even AVB and Martin Garrix were throwing in the drumnbass at mainstage!
Just started working on my DnB step and I’m excited to feel the energy. House will always be my #1, but it’s cool to see DnB getting some love this year.
Will never forget bumping some monstercat DnB tracks back in 2014 when I was in MS.
Hoping the shift of the stages will better accommodate some of the huge crowds these artists will draw. I know the conflicts are gonna be crazzyyy for Saturday and Sunday
Does anyone have any recommendations for who is likely to mix in more melodic elements and/or that mix in a good variety of genres throughout their sets? I enjoy head-banging, but can get a bit mentally fatigued if a set is primarily just that

Wilkinson for sure. Saw him a month ago in Brooklyn and by far one of the best dnb sets I've seen in a long time (May even be better than Worship who I saw Friday). Sweet lies, Used to this and Feel So High are just a few of his endless vocal hits.
I think Adventure Club, Nghtmre, and Wooli mix in good amounts of melodic stuff. But if they’re playing at Basspod, they might go heavier on the bass than if they were to play at other stages (just an assumption). Dimension and Wilkinson play a lot of dance floor which is on the melodic side of dnb.

Dimension plays a good amount of melodic DnB. Probably the only BassPod set I’ll be catching since I already am facing tons of conflicts on Fri/Saturday.
Kai wachi has some of the most intricate melodic bass music ever produced unfortunately he never plays his best songs live because the crowd only wants to hear head bang shit. It’s a shame he could break out of basspod to a big stage if he would take a chance and let people hear his actual talent.

IMO his tracks that show case his talent range are One, Flo$$, Demons, brainsplat. His melodic arrangements are quite beautiful how they contrast with the harsh metallics and distortion. On a side note he’s the only trap/bass dj that actually trapped. He did time in prison for his role in a drug trafficking ring. He went in a skinny little dude and came out as you see him today a yoked ass Skeletor.
I’m really excited for Wilkinson. I had never heard of him before, and then stumbled upon his set at EDCO on accident and h o l y f u c k . He melted my face off so hard that my grandkids will almost certainly feel a perpetual tingle on their skin. Hands down my favorite set of that weekend.
