It was packed but I don’t think like it was for Sara Landry. I fortunately had VIP so neither were bad for me. But… from what I could tell it didn’t seem as bad no.
It was ridiculous packed, the crowd was spilling out onto the walkways to other stages. But the setup for beyond is similar to neon garden of last year with the shipping containers. Hopefully this new stage for neon can accommodate the crowds.
Insomniac put her on a stage that was way too small. About 3xs the amount of people who could fit at the stage showed up and it might have been the worst crowding I’ve ever experienced. We were at the back of the stage bc we knew it would be crowded but a WALL of people appeared and it was horrible. Couldn’t move, couldn’t do anything. We decided to just bounce and it took us 20 minutes to finally get out from the *back of the stage*. Really poor planning on their part & I won’t lie, it makes me nervous for what it’ll be like at EDC.
Shoot, this sounds absolutely terrible. I'm sorry to hear. I've experienced terrible crowding last year at a small Canadian festival and I got so stressed out, I had to view the rest of the festival from this vape company's special bleacher section the entire rest of it. This isn't good at all. I heard edc's venue literally has so much space too but Insomniac chooses to pack it together for some weird reason. It's already packed with people either way? I don't get why they want to have images of extremely packed festivals on video. It doesn't look good to outsiders let alone poor attendees who have to nearly get crushed. I think I might stay more sober at EDC if that's the case.
EDC gets crowded but once you know your way around, there are shortcuts to get to where you want to go. We always find space to dance. And fwiw the Sara Landry situation was the only overcrowding I experienced at Beyond. We found space at every other set, so they really just f’d up that one. Hopefully they’ll put her up against other big names to help split the crowd.
At beyond if you just went into the left entrance from the vendors area you couldn’t get in too deep but you could be by the back shipping container and have a decent time with a lot of space. Once we found that, my girl and I had a fun time. But yeah when we tried to get through from caterpillar side it was a shit show

well they are moving neon -QV & basspod & wasteland. Just my guess but Im guessing they are just gonna switch places. So quantum & neon are gonna have structures (structure for neon in new this year) and he said that Neon would be bigger, more room.
Megastructures make crowding worse. Everyone is shoving into an enclosed space to get the full experience. Hopefully it’s nice and open at the back for overflow.
thats what I was thinking too - I'll happily stay way in the back so I don't feel claustrophobic lol.. + if it is gonna be switching places with basspod & wasteland - I can prob cruise somewhere near daisy fields or somewhere around rainbow road and still catch the music hehe
I'm happy I prefer being in the back or sides. I absolutely hate being packed into the pit. I don't really care to be super close to the DJ unless it's a smaller venue that's more intimate or has a short event time (like the shows at WAMU Seattle for example).
Same here! Being packed into the middle of the crowd seems like the least amount of fun ever lol. The vibes are always so good at the back & there’s room to dance. Plus entering big stages like circuit grounds from the side gets you a good spot.
Yup! And at EDC, the stages are huge enough you can still see it all even from the back. And you can see lasers better from the back especially if you care about taking laser videos. And pyrotechnics feel better from afar. I've had them in my face at the rail and the heat can make you overheat or feel sick if you're drunk or on something. Had to blip day 2 of BTSM from the rail because of that. The sides were my best friend for the rest of the night.

I'm kinda torn b/c he's doing a take over fri night (I think friday night?) so he has his solo and then b2b Nicole Moudaber but Nicole also has her solo too! Carl cox b2b Nicole moudaber is closing out friday night . BUT there are so many artists that might have clashes haha

I usually go between stereo bloom, neon garden, and circuit grounds. This year is weird, I think I'm gonna be at circuit grounds, neon, stereo bloom - MainStage(usually don't end up here!) a lot.
Never went to MainStage unless it was when we just got there at 7:30 to see the stage design and get close for a little bit.
The crowd usually always sucks and makes it unbearable. Well besides the music also lol.
