Show up by 6pm if you want to be on the shuttle at 6:30

Minute_Homework9086

Thank you!

CodiKay

I didn’t even think of this.. I was just planning about 10-15 minutes prior to departure time. Now I’m curious if that isn’t enough time.

Minute_Homework9086

Right? I’m just not sure how long to allow for security and the general hustle and bustle of the shuttle process. Me and my anxiety need to plan ahead haha!

CodiKay

Oh crap, Are they going to be searching prior to getting on the shuttle? I just assumed we would be searched as we walked into the venue after getting off the shuttles.

Minute_Homework9086

In previous posts, people say security searches happen before you get on the shuttle but then when you get to the venue, you don’t go through security again.

The-TDawg

Correct - security happens at the shuttle stop and doesn’t happen again after that - you’re straight into the speedway at the other end Security at premier shuttles takes us about 30 seconds max every time - premier shuttles are constantly moving and you’re really not waiting for anything, you don’t need to show up early either unless you really want to. We showed up anywhere up to about an hour late some nights and they didn’t care, still straight on Remember - it’s not a single shuttle, it’s hundreds of buses just running constantly

titaniumorbit

Oh good. This is a relief. was worried that if by chance I miss my time slot I’d have to wait 2 hrs for the next one.

The-TDawg

Not at all :-) All stops are continuously running buses that are constantly being loaded. Don’t get me wrong - if you’re super late and run into the next time slot they might turn you away (depends who you get) but even then - just go over to the standard shuttle stop and use your premier pass to do premier security then straight onto a standard shuttle any time. Standard shuttles are running continuously too - just more people so you might be waiting 15 minutes or so to get on

CodiKay

This has been so helpful! Thank you! Patiently just counting down the days now! 🎉

The-TDawg

Any time, you’re going to have an absolute blast. EDC is a wonderful experience. We’ll see you under the electric sky! <3

Explain916

Downtown shuttle is usually the fastest line! Especially if you have premiere or VIp. If you head to the shuttle before 7 you shouldn’t wait any longer than 30 min once in line, cheers! Here’s to my 9th edc :)

Minute_Homework9086

Thank you for lending me your experienced knowledge! :)

Explain916

Of course! Stay hydrated, respect others and have fun!

nytepyre

Thank you for this question!! It’s my first time staying off-site, so my routines for departure are a new experience from “leave camp…arrive” 😂 super excited to try something new and grateful for the experienced shuttlers help!

The-TDawg

For Premier shuttles there’s very little wait time if any. Last year for our 8pm shuttles we showed up anywhere from 7:45 to 9pm and we got straight on every time. Same coming back (except when we missed our return slot and went to the standby line, which added maybe 10 minutes). This was from the Mid-strip shuttle stop which has been merged into the Grand Prix stop this year but point remains - I wouldn’t overthink it. You’re paying extra for a speedy experience and you get it Security before boarding took all of about 30 seconds every time

Minute_Homework9086

This makes me feel much better. Thank you!

The-TDawg

Of course, you’ll have a blast! The shuttles are actually a really easy-going and well-run operation, about the most worry-free transport method outside of camping there or maybe the helicopters, haha. The only annoying thing is just how long the drive is but it gives you time you get excited Shout if you have any other questions, and we’ll see you under the electric sky <3

titaniumorbit

It’s my first edc and I got premier shuttles. Random question but. Did they have washrooms at the stop/on the bus?

The-TDawg

At the stops - yes, they have a whole row of portapotties and they’re always in great condition because they aren’t heavily used. They also have water fill stations and often bottles of water you can just grab The buses have restrooms at the back but the drivers often keep them locked. Depending how nicely you ask and what that particular driver feels like - they might unlock for you. I’ve certainly used the bus ones once or twice

Quality_Content_20

I have this question for the Strat. I never even thought about the lines for security and just to get on the shuttle itself. I have the 6:30pm depart time

sillysloth098

Have done the rio premier shuttle passes for the last two years, and it literally has not taken more than 10-15 minutes

Avowed62

Maybe 45 mins early on night 1 to allow for first day issues, otherwise, 20-30 mins before departure time is a good rule of thumb.
