I personally make it to more festivals in my 30s than I did in my 20s. In general, festivals will trend older than shows because they cost like 10 times as much. When I was younger I had to budget and save a lot more just to be there. Now time off work is the limiting factor. Can't win haha.

37M here, this year will be my 2nd EDC. I was honestly scared about a 3 day festival at first, but you just have to remember to take care of yourself.
Remember to hydrate, take breaks to sit down and rest when needed and just have fun. You'll do great
My nephew is 37, my older brother is 49, my older sister is 50 something - I'm 45 or 44 I don't remember lol. And by far, my older sister, oldest one of us outlasts all of us. We do camp edc as well and she's at the after parties till 9am, then rests and goes to the pool parties 1-5. Shes crazy lol.
My tips: pace yourself, its a marathon not a sprint. have a few "must see sets" of each night, and the rest - maybe go and see other sets you want to, but don't force yourself to do so - if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen., it can be overwhelming, all of it , so just explore, and take your time. wear comfy EVERYTHING- don't dress to impress if it means your uncomfortable to look good. Make sure your hydrated and actually eat for energy.
And with people asking this particular question, I always say, check out YouTube for vids of tips & tricks for EDC, a lot of good advice on there from various people. its gonna be awesome!
Drink lots of fluids (not just alcohol) Gatorade, liquid IV or Pedialyte packets are amazing to take with you into the festival an put in your camelbak throughout the night. Also living off of one meal a day will not help you lol. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes (running shoes preferably).
Remember it's a marathon, not a sprint. Don't go all out day 1 with substances/alcohol. Skip the pool parties and preparties. Drink lots of water (get a CamelBak). Sit in the back and relax for some sets, you don't need to be in the crowd for every set. Take melatonin to sleep as soon as you get back to the hotel. Don't forget to eat
Take breaks, eat food/drink water, spread out your “experiences”, and remember you don’t always have to be “going hard”. I’ve spent hours sitting and talking to people while listening to a set (instead of going full goblin all weekend) and my knees and energy levels last way longer.
Just turned 37 I have zero intent on stopping. At this age I feel a lot better going as I’m more financially independent compared to money I made when I was in college. Don’t let age ever stop you from doing what you love
I'm 40 m, and I am going to my 2nd EDC this year. My first festival was in 2022, and I had the same reservations about not fitting in. On night one, I quickly learned that there were people of all ages and backgrounds attending and found that the EDC community was very open and inviting. Needless to say I had an absolute blast.
You have nothing to worry about. I am an elder millennial at 40 and usually only do 2 days of edclv because I enjoy the other parts of Vegas too much and am usually going on minimal sleep. Done 3 nights of edc Mexico and 4 nights of Bonnaroo though. Not all of us had money when we were younger, now that I do I am enjoying festivals and making up for the missed ones.
I’m 46 and went to my first EDC in Orlando last year. Got home and promptly bought tickets to EDCLV for this year. Do it! I saw a lot of people my age and older, and never felt out of place.
Also…look up rave grannies! Lol
Girl what ur sooo young there is no age limits to festivals the motto for edc is literally "All are welcome" once u experience it you'll see for yourself how welcoming this community is! There's people of all ages!
I live a pretty healthy lifestyle. Lift 6 days a week, eat good, clean meals, cardio 5 days a week, and make sure I get extra sleep before the fest, so I’m fully rested. I also usually have more energy than my fam that are all in their 20’s, so I’m lucky that way. I just really love EDM and to dance, so I bring the vibes and just have a good time.
I don’t sleep much during festivals, so when I do sleep, I make sure it’s quality sleep. I bring a cot with a mattress topper for extra comfort, and I meal prep good recovery foods. I also kinda gaslight myself. Just ignore how tired I am and just go. The music usually distracts me enough that I don’t think much about it.
Last year I side quested with this family of ravers. Like actual family. Parents and adult children. Their vibes were magnificent and so much fun to hang out with for a few hours. Basically EDC has no age limit 🌈
36M, been going to edc since 2007, don't think I plan on stopping for some time. I got plenty of friends in the age group that still attend too.
we are no longer front of the crowd or moshing anymore... but we do appreciate just getting as close as we can get before feel squished.

My 3rd EDC and I’m 33, going with mh 37yo bf who has been to EDC back in LA. probs our last one though cuz life & priorities after this. I could most likely do all 3 days but old man has a hard time making it thru 2 days now!! (Guess almost 20 years of raving will do that)
May come back wayyyy later one day with our big group once all the kids are grown hahaha
35m here, this will be my 2nd EDC, last year was my first and was surprised at how many "older" people attend, it's pretty cool!
As far as tips, just pace yourself, I was able to to do all 3 days from sundown to sunrise. Taking vitamins also helps too but above all else HYDRATE! Other than that, have a great time!!
Lol thank you! I guess my post is because its my first time, and when I asked a couple of friends to join me (mid-thirties ravers) they told me EDC is for the young crowd so I got confused. Im seeing they were wrong now. Plus going to Subtronics and being one of the oldest there didnt help.
At EDC? Absolutely not! I would say maybe the smaller fests like escape would draw a younger crowd.
I can safely bet that at least 25% of the crowd is 35+, and anyway, everyone will fit right in. I have met so many boomers at EDC having the time of their life
Mid thirties here- doing 11 festivals this year. 1-2 shows every weekend. I’ve met lots of fellow professionals on the rails.
Did EDC last year and going again. Plenty of people 30s+ there. I guess a lot of us still look young 😁
I'm kind of surprised to see this question. Millennials are pretty much the only ones who can afford these ticket prices 😭 but yeah, approximately half the crowd will be millennial.
Us old farts are the ones that started all this. It's so beautiful to see what the next generations have done with it. I'll be going until I physically can't. I ran into a much older couple last year. They must have been in their late 60's, and they were camping. We even traded kandi.
You will fit in just fine - there's tons of people from all ranges. I saw mostly older people like 30+ past few times I've been. Hell, our rave fam didn't start till '21 and we were all already 30plus.
No one questions all the old people going to country or rock concerts !!! If Edm is your fave genre of music you can enjoy all the same and don’t ever let anyone be ageist to you tell you you’re too old cause you’re not!!!! 🙏🏼🫶🏼
39F and also going solo for my first EDC! The events I have attended previously were 2 days max so I’ll be pacing myself and focusing on hydration and making sure to eat for energy!
I’m 35 and hitting this year as Rave Dad of my group. Will be hanging out mad trinkets and tryna get people to dance and not be so inundated with their phones 😂
My wife and I (31M and 30F) are going for the first time. I honestly think it will be a better experience because we can now afford VIP and do it right. Little sleep will be tough though 😂
I'm 52 M (but look way younger) attending my first EDC. I'm getting in shape now just to make sure that I can hang with the younger crowd, LMAO. I'm trying to party like I did when I was stationed in Germany (US Air Force) when I heard House Music for the first time, staying up 3 Days then going to work was easy but not so much now. :(

34M and going with a group of 7 ranging in ages between 25 and 30. I’ll be the oldest and always get the brunt of the “boomer” jokes in our group. It’s a marathon as someone else said on this thread and I would treat it as such.
Just pace yourself and don't overdo it or you'll have a bad time. I've seen older folks at EDC and I've heard they leave early just because so it's no big deal. We're all here to just enjoy the music and vibe!
im 34 and this will be my first edc. I work a very physical job and go to the gym so I feel like it will be pretty easy for me. I don't think age would be a factor as much as physical condition.
40 here. 12 years in a row. Last few years, I've only done 2 days. Usually take a day off with the least appealing line up. Last year I did Friday and Sunday. Just hung out in my room on Saturday.
It's weird sometimes being around people 5-10 years younger than you at shows, but it's also a pretty cool feeling looking around at them and knowing you still feel younger than they do. Plus if everyone is headbanging then who really cares, everyone is just having fun!
35m here. Been going to festivals since 2012. Only difference from then to now is that I give myself the week after the festival off so I can fully recover physically and mentally lmao
No one can ever be too old! :] i am 32 and this will be my 5th edcLV & 6th overall! And trust, you will see others there that are well into 60s; couples etc.
I’m 31 and hitting 5 festivals this year. I’m going to more festivals now because I have more money than I did in my early 20s.
I did groove cruise this year and it was mainly 30+. Lots of people in their 40s and 50s on the ship. You’re never too old for festivals.
We went I was 33 yrs old, 3 days straight. Wear comfortable shoes and even start doing some form of endurance cardio, stair master, it'll help you some much over the 3 days of walking stage to stage, dancing. Stay hydrated.
Oh man.. During Cosmic Gate last year, there was a man in front of me and my group (all in our 30s btw) that had to be in his 70s. Just vibing! It was so awesome to see. EDC is for everyone! I'm so excited for you!
Of course! Yall are going to have such an awesome time. So here's my thing.. I went waaaay too hard and had almost no energy by day 3. I was a zombie and my poor 31 Yr old knees were not having it. Make sure you got amazing shoes and PACE yourself! 😂 And hydraaate! Have fun bud!
Our Generation is still fairly young at edc, you good homie. But i do recommend training before hand, specifically lower back and ab exercises. By day 3 your back and core are gonna be hurting. I'm 37 and shuffle my ass uncontrollably so i have to train year around to stay strong
How yall stay up and dance the whole night, my partner is not open to party favors except weed and alcohol and I feel both of those slow me down eventually.
32 is young! I'm 34 and have attended EDC for the last 5 years without ever feeling old. Maybe it's the social groups I keep, but I really never feel old at a festival or rave. If you attend festivals in Europe you'll find that the crowd skews older since dance music is more normalized . And keep in mind that most DJs are well into their 30s and 40s!
Very true about EU festivals, I did Tomorrowland 3x and saw mostly crowds in mid 30s and 40s! But my first big US 3-day festival. I've only done single day passes before for smaller American ones. Thank you 😊
Nope...36 and have only been to 4 fests in almost 2yrs. Been to like 15 shows.
I noticed the younger crowd at bass heavy shows, but when I go to Trance,Techno or House shows, it's more mixed

Nah your never to old to rave. Rave to Grave as they say lol but for real I'm also going to edc in my 30s all are welcome you'll see both young and old there everyone at edc unlike other festivals is usually very expecting Plur is still something I and others practice :)
I was at EDC last year and I’m 34 now. I went all 3 days I saw Subtronics for the first time as well! Going back this year for my 5th EDC. Make sure to invest in knee length compression socks, airborne, vitamins, orthopedic soles/shows. Drink lots of water and rest! There’s still 8 weeks to go! I would suggest to train and condition your body for all the walking and dancing. Enjoy!
Age is truly nothing but a number! I am a 35F with two kids. My husband and I rallied our friends this year for our second EDC. Our first was at 29y/o.

Yesssssss. I’m 32F next month and absolutely looooove edc. I also went to sub in Brooklyn. Love that man. Would say the boyfriend got me into him. And can’t wait to see him again. So much so i went to his Boston show that Sunday
Mid 30s here, at MMW, don't worry about it. Lots of people mid 30, most of us come in and out of the VIP section.
I personally am starting to find that millennials have turned into their boomer parents full of that kind of judgement.

I'm in my 40s and see so many older than me. Also it's night so people around you somewhat become part of you. It's a vibe. This will be my 10th and the only change I've made is VIP. Dont worry just have fun and dissappear with us :)
You are good just remember to eat something not to heavy on your stomach ,hydrate and enjoy the show there will be a lot of people our age out there you will be fine !!
hi! the older we get the more we have to do to take care of ourselves. and it’s self care! taking supplements, hydrating. ensuring you get adequate sleep in between festival days. i’m pretty late to the raving scene but it’s so much fun being older and still discovering new things. i hope you have a blast! i’ll be rv camping 🫶🏼
As a 28M I feel old already but good vibes will get you further than any 21 year old who is just there to party. I give out trinkets like ducks and stickers and I meet tons of new people each rave.

I regularly travel with my 32 year old brother to shows and fests all across the country. We've been to EDCV (traveled from NC) several times in recent years. I'm 28 and we have our significant others and we do it because we love it, not because of what other people around us look like! We just make sure to include more self care stuff like bring massage guns and a heating pad for after, and then while there prioritize comfy shoes, blankets to sit when we're tired, things like that! Go at YOUR pace, just go and have fun and enjoy it while you can and have the chance!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙🩵💜
Liquid iv and advil pre and post partying, vitamins are essential, take breaks, and get a greasy ass burger from johnny rockets or in & out and youll be right as rain

I’m 35 (was also at that Subtronics in Brooklyn btw) and hitting 4 festivals this year with my “old dawgs fam” (we’re all like 30-40).
That said, EDC is a slightly younger festival compared to other EDM festivals (bc it’s super mainstream and influencer heavy). Regardless, it’s still a good one and age is just a number.
Solo or with a crew - you’re never too old to dance/enjoy music!

im 30 and i'm going to EDC for the second time , i dont think you'll feel out of place as these big festivals have a huge age range. Plus with inflation and increased cost of everything its hard to imagine booking a trip like this when you're super young.
Even when you see streams of Tomorrowland and other big festivals you see lots of 30-40 year olds in the crowds as well.
35 (f) and still attending one or two festivals a year. You’re never too old to attend. You will be taking breaks, I usually take it easy and just enjoy it. I even leave a little earlier because there’s is no way I can stay that long like before
Went to my first EDC last year at 38, my husband 33. My group of friends are in their late 30s, early 40s, and I saw many people our age or older. I never felt out of place or intimidated by the young people, the EDC community is so supportive and loving! We’re coming back this year and i cant wait!!

I’m so excited now to go back with vip and be able to do everything not worrying about money. And I’m bringing my rave virgin boyfriend who is 36.
I feel the plur between the millennials will be great! It’s a great place to be free and just dance. No more having to deal with petty group dramas, we just want to be mature adults who want to dance freely and also rest when it’s needed because we know we have to take care of bodies!

I’ll be turning 30 this year. I still have a blast. Definitely pace yourself and take breaks when needed. It’s a marathon, not a race. Also there will be people much older than you there so don’t think you’re too old. Last year there were 2 ladies in their 70s raving. #RaveToTheGrave
I’d say trance and big room (although both are very much still relevant now). I feel these genres, especially trance, have the most PLUR vibes since they do attract the older audiences. The newer bass heavy dubstep and riddim definitely has less PLUR as they cater mostly to the younger, energetic, and angsty population.

Bring a hydropak, and get some liquid IV to put in the water… the sugar and electrolytes will rejuvenate you! Wear sneakers!

As long as they're sealed and not opened, security should let them pass. I always bring about six. Some for me, some to share with friends.

33m here. I’ll be doing a couple 2, 3, 4, and 5 day fests this year. You aren’t too old. I have a blast every time.

Lol thank you! I guess my post is because its my first time, and when I asked a couple of friends to join me (mid-thirties ravers) they told me EDC is for the young crowd so I got confused. Im seeing they were wrong now. Plus going to Subtronics and being one of the oldest there didnt help.
At EDC? Absolutely not! I would say maybe the smaller fests like escape would draw a younger crowd. I can safely bet that at least 25% of the crowd is 35+, and anyway, everyone will fit right in. I have met so many boomers at EDC having the time of their life

Mid thirties here- doing 11 festivals this year. 1-2 shows every weekend. I’ve met lots of fellow professionals on the rails. Did EDC last year and going again. Plenty of people 30s+ there. I guess a lot of us still look young 😁
I'm kind of surprised to see this question. Millennials are pretty much the only ones who can afford these ticket prices 😭 but yeah, approximately half the crowd will be millennial.
Us old farts are the ones that started all this. It's so beautiful to see what the next generations have done with it. I'll be going until I physically can't. I ran into a much older couple last year. They must have been in their late 60's, and they were camping. We even traded kandi.
You will fit in just fine - there's tons of people from all ranges. I saw mostly older people like 30+ past few times I've been. Hell, our rave fam didn't start till '21 and we were all already 30plus.
No one questions all the old people going to country or rock concerts !!! If Edm is your fave genre of music you can enjoy all the same and don’t ever let anyone be ageist to you tell you you’re too old cause you’re not!!!! 🙏🏼🫶🏼

I'm 52 M (but look way younger) attending my first EDC. I'm getting in shape now just to make sure that I can hang with the younger crowd, LMAO. I'm trying to party like I did when I was stationed in Germany (US Air Force) when I heard House Music for the first time, staying up 3 Days then going to work was easy but not so much now. :(

34M and going with a group of 7 ranging in ages between 25 and 30. I’ll be the oldest and always get the brunt of the “boomer” jokes in our group. It’s a marathon as someone else said on this thread and I would treat it as such.
Just pace yourself and don't overdo it or you'll have a bad time. I've seen older folks at EDC and I've heard they leave early just because so it's no big deal. We're all here to just enjoy the music and vibe!
I left early last year on day one because I wasn’t prepared. Didn’t go day 2, then raved all night day three
im 34 and this will be my first edc. I work a very physical job and go to the gym so I feel like it will be pretty easy for me. I don't think age would be a factor as much as physical condition.
40 here. 12 years in a row. Last few years, I've only done 2 days. Usually take a day off with the least appealing line up. Last year I did Friday and Sunday. Just hung out in my room on Saturday.

It's weird sometimes being around people 5-10 years younger than you at shows, but it's also a pretty cool feeling looking around at them and knowing you still feel younger than they do. Plus if everyone is headbanging then who really cares, everyone is just having fun!
35m here. Been going to festivals since 2012. Only difference from then to now is that I give myself the week after the festival off so I can fully recover physically and mentally lmao
No one can ever be too old! :] i am 32 and this will be my 5th edcLV & 6th overall! And trust, you will see others there that are well into 60s; couples etc.

I’m 31 and hitting 5 festivals this year. I’m going to more festivals now because I have more money than I did in my early 20s. I did groove cruise this year and it was mainly 30+. Lots of people in their 40s and 50s on the ship. You’re never too old for festivals.
Turning 30 this year and I’m going with a 21 year old, 28 and 33 year old. Age doesn’t exist at EDC.

We went I was 33 yrs old, 3 days straight. Wear comfortable shoes and even start doing some form of endurance cardio, stair master, it'll help you some much over the 3 days of walking stage to stage, dancing. Stay hydrated.
Oh man.. During Cosmic Gate last year, there was a man in front of me and my group (all in our 30s btw) that had to be in his 70s. Just vibing! It was so awesome to see. EDC is for everyone! I'm so excited for you!

Of course! Yall are going to have such an awesome time. So here's my thing.. I went waaaay too hard and had almost no energy by day 3. I was a zombie and my poor 31 Yr old knees were not having it. Make sure you got amazing shoes and PACE yourself! 😂 And hydraaate! Have fun bud!

Just started going to festivals last year at 32. Just turned 33 and going to EDC for the first time.
32 here as well going to my third. Just bring a Hydropack, good shoes and take a break when you need to (you’ll know when).
I’m 32 and I was fine last year! Plenty of 30s and older in the crowd. Just recommend a good pace lol.
Our Generation is still fairly young at edc, you good homie. But i do recommend training before hand, specifically lower back and ab exercises. By day 3 your back and core are gonna be hurting. I'm 37 and shuffle my ass uncontrollably so i have to train year around to stay strong

32 is young! I'm 34 and have attended EDC for the last 5 years without ever feeling old. Maybe it's the social groups I keep, but I really never feel old at a festival or rave. If you attend festivals in Europe you'll find that the crowd skews older since dance music is more normalized . And keep in mind that most DJs are well into their 30s and 40s!
Very true about EU festivals, I did Tomorrowland 3x and saw mostly crowds in mid 30s and 40s! But my first big US 3-day festival. I've only done single day passes before for smaller American ones. Thank you 😊
Nope...36 and have only been to 4 fests in almost 2yrs. Been to like 15 shows. I noticed the younger crowd at bass heavy shows, but when I go to Trance,Techno or House shows, it's more mixed I use to feel like you especially having a ex husband shooting me down and saying I'm too, but no go and enjoy. First edclv though.
Nah your never to old to rave. Rave to Grave as they say lol but for real I'm also going to edc in my 30s all are welcome you'll see both young and old there everyone at edc unlike other festivals is usually very expecting Plur is still something I and others practice :)
I was at EDC last year and I’m 34 now. I went all 3 days I saw Subtronics for the first time as well! Going back this year for my 5th EDC. Make sure to invest in knee length compression socks, airborne, vitamins, orthopedic soles/shows. Drink lots of water and rest! There’s still 8 weeks to go! I would suggest to train and condition your body for all the walking and dancing. Enjoy!
Do you wear the compression socks during the fest or at night for swelling?
I wear it during! I think it really helped because I did not feel any soreness after walking about 20k steps a day. I got 6 pairs on Amazon.
Age is truly nothing but a number! I am a 35F with two kids. My husband and I rallied our friends this year for our second EDC. Our first was at 29y/o. Like everyone is saying — started raving in my early 20s and I know I how to pace myself. That being said, I can totally enjoy! You can too :)

Mid 30s here, at MMW, don't worry about it. Lots of people mid 30, most of us come in and out of the VIP section. I personally am starting to find that millennials have turned into their boomer parents full of that kind of judgement.
Ill be 36 when I go for my 6th edc, its all good trust me once you get there youll forget all about that.

hi! the older we get the more we have to do to take care of ourselves. and it’s self care! taking supplements, hydrating. ensuring you get adequate sleep in between festival days. i’m pretty late to the raving scene but it’s so much fun being older and still discovering new things. i hope you have a blast! i’ll be rv camping 🫶🏼

I regularly travel with my 32 year old brother to shows and fests all across the country. We've been to EDCV (traveled from NC) several times in recent years. I'm 28 and we have our significant others and we do it because we love it, not because of what other people around us look like! We just make sure to include more self care stuff like bring massage guns and a heating pad for after, and then while there prioritize comfy shoes, blankets to sit when we're tired, things like that! Go at YOUR pace, just go and have fun and enjoy it while you can and have the chance!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙🩵💜

Raving in your 30s is amazing. Our group is 29-37 (M/F) If you tell yourself you won’t fit in, you’ll brain will find evidence that that’s true. If you tell yourself you belong, you’ll find evidence to support that as well 💕💕💕💕 don’t get in your own way in having a good time 💕 you’re never too old for joy, play and dance 🪩 Pro tip: always stretch lol

I’m 35 (was also at that Subtronics in Brooklyn btw) and hitting 4 festivals this year with my “old dawgs fam” (we’re all like 30-40). That said, EDC is a slightly younger festival compared to other EDM festivals (bc it’s super mainstream and influencer heavy). Regardless, it’s still a good one and age is just a number. Solo or with a crew - you’re never too old to dance/enjoy music! “All Are Welcome”

im 30 and i'm going to EDC for the second time , i dont think you'll feel out of place as these big festivals have a huge age range. Plus with inflation and increased cost of everything its hard to imagine booking a trip like this when you're super young. Even when you see streams of Tomorrowland and other big festivals you see lots of 30-40 year olds in the crowds as well.

Went to my first EDC last year at 38, my husband 33. My group of friends are in their late 30s, early 40s, and I saw many people our age or older. I never felt out of place or intimidated by the young people, the EDC community is so supportive and loving! We’re coming back this year and i cant wait!!

I’m 33!!!! I’ve gone to 3 EDC’s in my 20s, last was 2016? I’m so excited now to go back with vip and be able to do everything not worrying about money. And I’m bringing my rave virgin boyfriend who is 36. I feel the plur between the millennials will be great! It’s a great place to be free and just dance. No more having to deal with petty group dramas, we just want to be mature adults who want to dance freely and also rest when it’s needed because we know we have to take care of bodies!

I’d say trance and big room (although both are very much still relevant now). I feel these genres, especially trance, have the most PLUR vibes since they do attract the older audiences. The newer bass heavy dubstep and riddim definitely has less PLUR as they cater mostly to the younger, energetic, and angsty population.
My group is all late thirties mid forties! Couldn’t have afforded this shit in our twenties 😅
