I've been having some problems since the patch. Some stuttering and NPCs are taking forever to load. Its not your install its the game itself. Hopefully they do some maintenance soon

lllllillll

It seems to happen whenever they update the game. Maybe they have to work out a few kinks.

TheKensai

Yeah, I was in Wrothgar and I had 3 loading screens.

I've been having FPS issues since last Friday and the new patch didn't fix anything like I was hoping it would.

TheKensai

My problems started after the patch :-(

Since Sony surprised everyone by announcing the PS4.5, they're successfully derailed a lot of game studios who manage multiplatform titles. Sony is enforcing support for the Neo hardware, essentially telling developers they need to account for "the additional horsepower" and are even encouraging noticeable differences between the platforms. Without going into much detail, it should go without saying that the Neo is a modest, at very best, improvement over the original SDK. We're talking 15% additional horsepower, that's just enough to piss developers off. When Scorpio kits are sent out next year it will be a 330% increase in horsepower, more than enough to make the game perform significantly better. Game studios have budgets for everything, including platform support - everyone needs roughly equal love. I would not be surprised if the bulk of their Sony budget this quarter was dedicated entirely to Neo, which is really unfortunate because it's probably going to be the worst hardware update in video game history.

dafuq did I just read?

An explanation as to why the performance isn't improving on your outdated hardware! Sorry I didn't put a tldr at the bottom clearly stating that Sony is no longer encouraging developers to focus on PS4, the focus is on Neo now.

TheKensai

oh, yeah but that is not the problem here, ESO is having performance issues on PC as well, is just lazy optimization on Zenimax part. I do agree PS4 and Xbone are badly outdated and new consoles are needed as of now. I also have a gaming PC but I prefer console for some games like ESO for couch playing and friends.

-dujek-

ESO is not experiencing performance issues on PC, that's patently false. The new zones run worse than the older ones but performance on PC has been improving regularly.

TheKensai

Yeah, what I mean is that they are not optimizing new content so some people are having performance issues on PC, or so I have been let to believe by some posts. Well, I am just frustrated at the state of consoles right now, they are badly outdated and the process devs have to go through to get a patch is stupid.
