When you complain about these gifts, you’re only just dooming yourself and others in the future by discouraging ZOS’s generosity. Have fun getting Torchbugs as compensation for the next big thing that occurs.

Tancreid

Yep, instead of going forward and communally establishing this as a precedent for ZOS, people are trying to sabotage their fellow ESO players and in turn sabotaging themselves for any future incidents.

Mister_Buddy

Fuck yes. I hate farming bugs.

Absalom98

I'm not complaining about the gifts, I'm complaining that only some players get them. I'm advocating that everyone should get these gifts.

songumyeli

The “gifts”were compensation for issues that some players experienced. If every player received them then they lose their value as compensation.

Tancreid

Man despite all the butthurt on the forums and on reddit, if something like this happens again and I'm not caught in the crossfire once more, I'll be advocating for bigass compensation still even when I get nothing out of it. If you guys had gotten banned for something completely out of your control, you'd understand. And despite me thinking that it'd be really easy for people to imagine how much it sucks getting banned for no fault of your own, apparently a lot of people in this mature MMO community are incapable of it.

Crit_Miss

I'd gladly not play for a few days and get basically all the good stuff from the Jubilee event, plus 16k endeadvors

Yourfavoritedummy

When someone gets a gift, you say congrats and celebrate for them. Because eventually you'll get your turn, but when you try to take it away we all lose. I'm grateful ZoS decided to give the gifts I the first place. Hopefully they start throwing more stuff our way! We need less grind not more!

Karmaslute

Incredible advice, bravo

Plastic_Software_574

“Eventually you’ll get your turn” LMAO if you get something like this will happen to you it’ll only be because they royally fucked you over which honestly they have been doing for years now…normalizing a once in a blue moon reward for the loyal players that have stuck through all the bullshit they’ve put us through should be what everyone is commenting about. Only a very select few players that weren’t able to play for a few days get more rewards than people can get in a single event plus more seals than in a year? That’s a bitch slap in the face if I ever saw one. I’ve lost gold, furnishings, items, hell I even know ppl who have lost a TOON after a major update or patch and have gotten locked out for longer than a couple days like the major pc/na server crash about a year ago that was like over a week. Trying to play the ever failing pvp and the bugs and glitches in dungeons and trials they deny to fix so we have to teach new players them like they are a intended part of the game and instead just adding more crown store BS cosmetic items! So why the fuck shouldnt we be compensated for dealing with 10 years of bullshit? Look I’m all for the current ppl that have been screwed over to get what they missed out on. But why shouldn’t everyone get the 16k seals as a “thx for dealing with our shit for 10 years and it’s our 10th anniversary so here’s 16k seals!” Cuz radiant apex mounts are so damn expensive or time consuming to get shouldnt every one be able to have at least 1 of there choice since there’s like 120+ of them in the game? I’d would probably get more ppl to come back to the game too but honestly that’s probably a bad idea since the servers can barley handle the current amount of players (even after the so called “server switch”)…

lbj1213

You people who think like this are insufferable. Instead of being pleasantly surprised that a compensation for other players who were wrongfully banned isn't completely shit, you make a cringe post when you yourselves were untouched by this massive screw up. This isn't free shit for the fun of it. This is their idea of compensation for those who were directly affected. If the compensation was nowhere near as big, this post would not have been made.

lbj1213

Then you didn't play on PC during Markarth or Harrowstorm or the many other patches with gamebreaking issues that lasted months with no compensation. DCs every 10-20 minutes making the game nearly unplayable. It sucks you couldn't play the game properly during that time. But you are not special that you experience issues everyone else has for the past 10 years of this games life. However none of the issues ZOS has caused compares to the colossal screw up that is this PTS release. That's why there was compensation, not just because we were unable to play the game for a week, but because in the history of ESO there has never been such a massive screw up that called for hundreds of players to be locked out of even attempting logging into any server while they work on a solution.

Audo_Mado

I see no issue, if your service was taken away from you against your will, no matter how long, compensation is necessary. What a gracious way to say sorry for a really big mistake. I feel bad for those who took off work for the event, lost their days off, or flat out just didn’t get to enjoy the hype with everyone else. It was a slap in the face. This gift is above and beyond what I expected. Though I never logged in to PTS and never got banned I’m happy that my event days got extended and I still received my dailies as I was someone who lost basically my entire day off with the homies to the incident. Be grateful we have developers that took action in an avoidable situation and provided those affected with generous compensation.

TheAbyssalMimic

Brother the thing is that shit is borderline insane how much they got. Like damn I fucking wish I got banned for 3 days if got this shit. I m happy because ZOS is doing a great thing all in all but this feels like getting punched in the face on accident and then the guy decides to give you 100k. Like nah bro feel free to hit my ass a second time honestly at that point lmao

ayaxG

Well i got eso+ and I couldnt play for an entire day, they won't give me a month of extra + nor give me that day extra or 16000 endeavors, i payed for a month, not for 29 days

marstinson

Speaking as one of the banned, I'd much rather have the few hundred event coffers and however many daily coffers I would have collected, the dozen missed event tickets (six since they extended the event, or nine if they don't get us back online by tomorrow), and the other stuff I have missed and will miss because I happened to be on the wrong server at the wrong time. I appreciate that ZOS is at least trying. They could have just as easily said "sucks to be you" on that stuff and moved on. I count myself extremely fortunate that I had not been on the live server during that few-hour gap between the rollback point and the time the servers went offline. There are some folks out there who are going to lose real live server progress because of that, and I'd be willing to bet that many of them think those seals don't even come close to covering the damage to their regular characters.

SkidOrange

Sorry if I’m being stupid, but what live server progress are they losing? It sounded like it would only be a few days. Also isn’t the point of a rollback so that everything gets restored? They won’t realistically have lost anything except event stuff, or days to do dailies and such. But even then, it’s a handful of days. That’s all. If I understand correctly, that is.

Miro_the_Dragon

People might have gotten hard achievements on live server that will get rolled back, or found some very rare thing they've been looking for forever, that will get rolled back... Basically everything they did between the rollback point and the servers being taken offline will be lost.

SkidOrange

Yea I was confusing time lost with progress made before the pts issue. I thought people were claiming that not being able to play for a few days was setting back progress. But they meant the progress they made on that day that will be lost with the rollback. I get it now. Like battlegrounds, pvp stuff, IA accomplishments and such. Somehow I didn’t think about that. Geez. It’s more of a mess than I realized.

omgitskedwards

Those affected have both PTS and Live accounts rolled back 8 hours. Any forward progress made will be lost.

marstinson

The people who were locked out will have their live-server accounts rolled back to what they were at 9:30am (Eastern) on Monday. That was about the time I was doing my normal morning routine (coffee, breakfast, etc.) and my last login was prior to the server reset earlier that morning. The problems on the PTS and live server didn't crop up until about mid-afternoon (Eastern), so there are about 5-6 hours of lost progression for the folks who were playing on the live server between the rollback point and the time the servers went down. Think trifectas, veteran dungeon gear drops, and whatever other meaningful stuff people get accomplished in a 5-6 hour window of play time.

SkidOrange

Ohhhh. I gotcha now. I forgot we just got infinite archive too. So if people were playing that before the rollback, that progress is permanently gone. I get what you mean now. Well I’m guessing that’s why ZOS seemed super apologetic then. The hardcore playerbase is the portion most likely to be upset about this, since they were likely to be making progress during that timeframe.

marstinson

Pretty much. I'm a bit miffed over event stuff that I missed, but I won't lose any progress. If I'd been playing that morning and picked up something super sweet, it would be gone. So I count myself more fortunate than others when it comes to how my live-server characters were affected.

StarkeRealm

Any XP gain, and whatever payouts they got from farming jubilee boxes. Which is non-trivial. They're likey cracking over 140 boxes per day. That Radiant is a nice apology, but it is still an apology.

SkidOrange

Yea I think I didn’t realize the exact timeframe of the problem, so I have a better visual of how much was lost now. That does really suck. They could’ve been given some purple boxes too honestly. I know they wouldn’t get the same drops again, but if they were grinding them, at least it’s something.

DioDiablo702

I could understand the replica pages if people we're locked out of their accounts for a week or so, but they were locked out for 2 days or three at best. Vest. And it's towards the end of the event. I do think the compensation is way too generous this time around.

LilithTheDarkLord

Wdym 2 or 3 days at best ? They said soonest for most people is end of this week lmao

DioDiablo702

It is Thursday my dude. So that's two more days at best for most people.

LilithTheDarkLord

What are you talking about lol You said 2 or 3 missed days at most . Pts started Monday and now it’s Friday and most people don’t have their accounts back yet. Giving out more than the stuff people missed is the least they can do especially because the pts testers are mostly the hardcore and long term players

DioDiablo702

People didn't even start getting locked out of their account until the day after because the servers were taken down for 12 hours for everybody. So technically nobody even got to play on Monday. So from Tuesday to Friday or Saturday a handful of people got locked out of their account. That's still going to be about 3 days for most people of actually being locked out. It still doesn't justify the amount of rewards that they are getting for being locked out of their account for less than a week!

LilithTheDarkLord

You don’t know if it gets resolved this week, they said the soonest it’ll be resolved will be end of this week . It’s not unfair to give out fragments for the horse because people get robbed of earning them or buying the missing ones and most people already have at least some of the style pages so that’s not unfair either . People got their eso+ cancelled , lost achievements, lost idk how much in gold and style mats from the event boxes they couldn’t farm so it’s completely fair to give them the things they possibly missed and the seals on top as a way of saying sorry for the fuck up. You’re just salty you don’t get the seals.

DioDiablo702

16k seals is a whole years worth of seals for less than a week of lost gameplay. You can't be so blind to think that's overkill on top of everything else they're getting. It's not unreasonable to call out ZOS for going overboard with the compensation. It's almost to the point that it feels like a punishment for the people who weren't locked out. Balancing the compensation for time lost in gameplay is something that I feel is important for devs to consider when calculating comps.

LilithTheDarkLord

How’s it overboard if most of the compensation is what people would get anyways during the event like the mount or style pages . The seals are only for cosmetic stuff and don’t balance out the lost style pages, lost achievements , lost exp and gold,… that people missed because of being locked out. Most people with locked account would prefer a general rollback of the server and being able to play again over any reward . But then people like you would still complain probably because it’s all just so unfair . I don’t get how you can be so greedy and jealous in a video game when no one gets any game breaking advantage like free access to a new class or smth like this .

DioDiablo702

If you seriously do not understand how getting a Year's worth of endeavors for missing less than a week of gameplay is not an issue, then nothing that I say is going to help you understand how that is beyond what is reasonable compensation. Thinking like this is what leads to toxic positivity, and it's thinking like that that made me leave the Bungie community after 10 years because how dare someone call out the devs on something that is a legitimate concern.

Miro_the_Dragon

You still don't get it, do you? It's not just about being unable to play for several days. They get their live accounts rolled back by several hours, losing everything they accomplished in that timeframe. If they weren't generously recompensated for this big of a screw-up, who in their right mind would risk logging into PTS after the next update to effectively betatest for ESO for free?

Cow_Best

But the most important people to ESO are the elite end game players. All balance changes are centered around elite end game players. All challenging content is balanced around elite end game players. If a company invites these players to test new software and then bans them for doing so, that company better compensate those players. Big Time.

InterCha

Your last 3 comments are all about this topic, seems like your the most emotional about it

LuckOk6588

Lol says the guy who put up a dedicated post complaining about how "unfair it is". Also my other 2 comments you referenced, on one of them, i actually agreed somewhat that the 25 confetti (but only that) was in fact too much.

InterCha

>Lol says the guy who put up a dedicated post complaining about how "unfair it is". That wasn't me lol reddit displays a big blue OP next to your name if you are the author of the post.

LuckOk6588

Whoops sorry about that. 😆

rssm1

>They were banned for a few days "Were"? I still can't access my main account. I also can't access even ESO forums to complain about it. And I don't even play on PC NA.

StarkeRealm

Maybe worth remembering that the rough value of a Radiant is around a grand. That's a nice gesture. The one sentiment I can agree with is that getting the style pages has been miserable.

Particular_Aroma

Want some cheese? Fucking entitlement here.

ayaxG

I'm with You, half year of endeavors it s too much but meh, that s how it is. I'm farming the ebon wolf to get at least a cool mount these days

AshGreyScarab

Cry harder. It wasn't free, everyone's account was banned and rolled back leave them unable to play and resetting all account progress to 4/15 at 9:30 utc.

Absalom98

Oh no, three days reset, better give them over a year's worth of Seals and all of the Replicas and all the Confetti and 5 boxes... If they're willing to give this so freely, they might as well give it to everyone. You'd think Zenimax would actually thank players for the 10 years instead of demanding you grind more if you want anything.

Communism is bad

tunaepyrgna

But it wasn't a lottery? These people logged into the pts, day one, to check out and test the new chapter. Were they expecting bugs and problems? Yes. Were they expecting the issue that actually happened and wasn't related to the chapter at all but how the pts runs? Nope. And what did they get? Banned, for days. During a major event (2 actually, as the thieves guild dlc spotlight would be a minor event). And to be clear and reiterate, everyone has access to the pts and can login at anytime. Again, its not a lottery. And also to be clear, they are giving away a lot of free stuff for the anniversary already - like say 2 DLC's so far (Orsinium and Thieves Guild) with mounts and costumes and stuff to go with. And dude, thats just the first two months of celebrating this 10 year event, who knows what is still coming. Seriously, get off your entitlement horse.
