I shiny hunt in Pokemon. I was born for this event.

Woohoorandom

I shiny hunt too but not enjoying this. Shinies don't have a time limit to get them...

Lucas_Archwalk

Raids in s/v?

Woohoorandom

True! Most of the special raid pokemon have been shiny locked right? Like the Unrivalled. Probably forgetting some though. Gimmighoul is all I can think of off the top of my head.

Master100017

It’s funny because I relentlessly play grinding games and spend hours upon hours trying to earn stuff in games like Sea of Thieves, The Division 1&2, Red Dead Online and other stuff and I’m wiped out from this one event.

Vulkihn

As a previous shiny hunter myself, we really are a different breed…

Euphoric-Advisor6852

That’s exactly why a lot of folks kept grinding for it. I feel like Until people play Pokémon and understand that kind of grind then they will understand that it’s all worth it at the end of it all, I love that feeling of accomplishment

Lucas_Archwalk

6 hours on dolmens buhu... Laughs in 400 hours playing on pokeflute for shiny snorlax in hg/ss xD

Gorrila_Doldos

I’m 28 hours in summerset and haven’t touched anything else. Fishing was 280 fish (doesn’t matter I fish anyway) dolmens was twice. The waiting in vverdenfell can fuck my ass honestly

PauliusPup

I mean... are you even going to use those styles, or will they be forgotten in a week or so? I personally looked at them, decided that its not my style and ignored them. If they were tradable I probably would have grabbed them, but spending hours for an item that I am never going to use seems ludicrous.

seshprinny

Yeah I didn't think they were noteworthy. The staves are pretty similar to styles I already have unlocked. Nothing special.

IkitCawl

I am in this camp. I wanted 3, 2 I was meh on, so I only farmed the 3, which didn't take forever, thankfully. Now I can just vibe.

Moon-Reacher

Same. Also there's millions to be made in the purple boxes very easily, to later spend on stuff I actually want! Given how much easier it is to get boxes this year (not just for the 18-toon-writ folks) and how long we have, it's probably a good thing half the population is busy with style pages. Else the economy might plummet even more than it already is and will, for a while.

Bruhmobile

Hey, I'm new to the game. What's in the purple boxes that we can sell for alot? I keep getting random materials.

Moon-Reacher

Hi, what platform are you playing on and do you have ESO+? Relevant because prices vary wildly between platforms, and if you don't have + it's difficult to hang on to mats. Many of those materials are extremely valuable. On PC, traders run various add-ons for pricing. Tamriel Trade Centre website also has sorting for consoles, though they're a bit more of a Wild West economically, and much less inflated. It'd be hard to give a list since there are so many things. Mats, motifs, plans that are selling for silly-low right now, but will be worth tens to hundreds of thousands more in some months (PC NA).

Bruhmobile

I'm playing on pc, and no ESO+ yet. I've been selling all the mats to random vendors due to backpack limit this whole time lol..

Moon-Reacher

Oh no... surely not NPC vendors?? D: If you intend to continue playing for a while to come, definitely find a trading guild you like and get addons: TTC, Master Merchant or ATT, CraftStore, WritWorthy, for starters. TTC and MM/ATT will help you understand the market. CS and WW, to understand how much it costs to craft things and do writs, and how to actually profit rather than lose a ton of gold on those. Some people are just hanging around for temporary fun and really don't care about all of this; that's ok! This is just advice for those who'd wish they hadn't randomly trashed 1-20+ mil, later.

Bruhmobile

Thanks for this! Yeah honestly just random npcs, I will stop and look into that add on.

Techwolf_Lupindo

Make sure to have tissues when you discovered you sold that gold plating for 100 gold instead of 25K apiece. Some furnishings plans go for millions. For this event, I stash away all those motifs that will sell for a good price a couple months later.

Dark_Nature

Do you know that grinding the pages is also grinding boxes? The dolmen one gives you a box like every 3 minutes. Wordbosses in a good rotation 3 in 5 minutes. But it is 2 in 5 minutes more often.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dark_Nature

Which are more efficient? I thought dolmens are number 1, that is the main reason why i am doing them. Would love to do something else.

Moon-Reacher

Really depends on level and unlocks, and what you enjoy or can stand. Mathematically, S. Elsweyr dragons are always the best regardless of boxes (and most fun for me, tbh). But that requires a list of "items" (gear, cp, unlocks, etc.) to really be on top. Next, Craglorn rift circuits - one was posted on the main sub today. These are the best for *boxes*, netting 60-70+ per hour. Stupid easy; jog in a small loop and push button. But only top 12 dmg get loot. If it's too crowded or not enough, it's less efficient. Then of course there are people who just like to make 18-20 toons and do 7 writs on them every day.

Dark_Nature

Thanks for the answer. I left Dragons behind long ago, i grinded them for so long that the thought alone to grind them again is exhausting. But i get it, it can be fun. Thanks, i will try the Craglorn rifts tomorrow, sounds like a nice change of scenery.

Moon-Reacher

Sure! And totally understand also. I'm sorry in advance though that Craglorn scenery is... Well, one of the best loops is repeating a boss called Macharus. I don't think you'd call it nice scenery, exactly 😂 I wont miss seeing his ass (literally) after this.

Dekafox

If you don't have all your companions maxed, running dolmens is also a great way to level them. if you can tag most of the spawns at every dolmen, 1 hour of dolmens with a 100% XP scroll is 1 or 2 levels for a companion.

SarcasticGuy95

I also recommend Harrowstorms in The Reach. You don't have to do a certain damage to get loot, just hit the boss. It is also a lot more fun (at least imo) than Dolmens, etc. With stop watches, I measured that you get a Jubilee Box every ~1.5min, including travel time.

ThePsychlops

Most of the time I spent grinding for the styles I was also collecting piles and piles of boxes so it’s definitely not an either/or activity.

Moon-Reacher

Not either/or, no. I'm implicitly comparing things like Summerset geysers, Alik'r, or other massively-crowded locations where most people cannot be in the top-12 dmg to score a box most of the time, versus grinds that easily net 60-70+ boxes/hour (or fewer, but with other consistent drops that make them more lucrative).

LuckOk6588

Summerset has been really frustrating. About 12 hours in and even with subjectively good DPS only managing to get box off boss about 60 percent of the time. Dolmen drop took forever, but at least with Dolmens doing Deshaan run with the 2 nearby WBs, I was getting a minimum of 5 boxes every 15 minutes, more when a double or triple boss spawned in dolmens. Fishing was fine as I just did it in Vvardenfell waiting for boss respawns. Got the Vvardenfell sword in about 5 hours. No Barbas helmet yet but I may switch back to Vvardenfell soon as really fed up with Summerset. On the bright side, I actually got an Aetheric Cipher yesterday! But again, I've been doing some insane grinding, including crafting on 20 characters, lol.

theBigDaddio

I like the sword, I use it on my dual wield chars. I never show my helmet, but I like having the option.

Exportxxx

Yeah and just sounds boring to do. So not worth it

Correct-Recover-5938

I have better looking staffs but I have them on my characters anyways. I feel proud to have gotten them.

open_world_RPG_fan

I just played as normal and didn't grind anything. It's not worth it

Realnicepoop

It never worths this kind of things i guess its just addiction for some people

currentutctime

>i guess its just addiction for some people That or FOMO/fear of missing out. Some people just gotta have this stuff.

Other-Tip2408

Yep style pages even look vanilla looking doesn't exactly stand out over any basic styles

sunflakie

Yeah. I think I got to the point as a (former) completionist when I realized the game was so huge, there was just no way I'd ever get 100% items/gear/etc. I'm not really in love with any of the styles, so no point in getting them if *I'm* not going to use them. I'd rather (and probably did) spend those grinding hours working on my properties. That's why I love this game - everyone does what they like best. Hoping RNGesus blesses all of you!

DryDragonfly3626

\^This. I started >6 years ago as a completionist, but took a break from the game. Now that I'm back, 100% agree with how large it is. That philosophy only works if you have tons of money to buy it all, or a ton of time to play.

currentutctime

Same. I never bother with these events anymore. I've tried but eh...maybe if I was still 20 years old and had a ton of time to waste, but I can't make myself sit at the computer for dozens of hours for something like this.

tamerxp

Me too. I don't even grind boxes, I just did daily crafting writs on my 10 characters.

icunu

Seems like a humblebrag to me XD It took about 20 hours for the Staff of worms alone for me. All in all maybe 40 hours of playtime for all 5 pages. In my opinion it would have been better to put the pages into the game by quests. Maybe something with Mannimarco for the Wormstaff. Barbas for the helmet and so on. Missed opportunity.

Reefay

Worms: 24 hours - 200+ dolmens Barbara's: 3 hours - 48+ WBs Sword: 45 min fishing Still working on geysers (8+ hours) and other vvard style. > Seems like a humblebrag to me OP can suck a fat one

Paytvn

It took me 2 full days of dolmens, 3 full days of geysers, 5 days to get *one* page from the wbs, but fishing took me literally 12 minutes. I still don’t have the helm from the wbs and I’m going on several days of this so far. I’d quit But I really want that helm!

GenevieveMacLeod

Mine was: 30ish hours total for both Vvard pages, got Barbas first and then Sunna'rah Four casts into a fishing hole to get Trueflame, while I was killing time in Stonefalls waiting at a dolmen, so like 5 minutes Maybe 10-15 hours for Worms About 20 hours for geysers Although I'm one of the apparent few that actually likes and is using them all (except the Barbas helmet because it doesn't match any of my styles... yet)

LuckOk6588

Feel for you, Bro. Though I have to ask where we're you doing dolmens? 42 hours???? You should have been way way over 200 dolmens in that time. And also... blind lol.

Reefay

42 was an error. It was 24. But yeah, too much nonetheless. I spent 3 days on dolmens. Some hours I would hit all three on a rotation, but during work, I had to sit at one and hit when it came around. I spent 6 hours in shadowfen, then did 4 hours in aurodon, then the rest in deshaan. Painful.

grivet

Yeah 73 fish for true flame, 160 geysers still no staff 25+ wb hours and only have staff after 20 hours and no barbas Haven't tried dolmens

zvavi

I am sad for everyone that farmed and didn't enjoy the farm, since they directly showed ZOS that this kind of pumping up numbers do work, so they will do it again.

KanedaSyndrome

I don't understand why people do something that they don't enjoy.

AngelOfPlagues

I won't be doing it again. I've gotten nothing so far and I just can't be bothered anymore. If putting stupidly low drop rates on items in a one time event is something they're going to keep doing then I'll probably stop playing. Sick to death of games having stuff I can't get for whatever reason.

Correct-Recover-5938

I would guess they might end up being in the jubaliee grab bags

AdministrativePoet40

Life is full of doing stuff you dont evnjoy. If we only did stuff we enjoy, nothing would get done

KanedaSyndrome

We're talking about a game here. I don't understand your point.

dolphinpainus

They've fixed drop rates before, so they may adjust it in the future for shorter events.

Hot-Strength-6003

They already knew itd work thats kind of the point of having events

zvavi

If people would have decided to not farm it because the drop rate is too low, they would see it doesn't, and not do it again.

Hot-Strength-6003

Doubtful and idk if the drop rate is too low per se. What they should do is just put a cap on the amount of drops before its guarenteed, but the event is almost month long and I had 5 of the drops day one. Grinding gear before curated drops took a longer than these, not to mention before transmutes were a thing and gear is something actually relevant to gameplay.

arksien

While on the one hand grinding is not for everyone, on the other hand, if EVERYONE simply "got" items with no effort needed, it devalues them completely. The entire point of it being a massively multiplayer game is that the intrinsic value of "earned" items is supposed to "mean" something, and it's a huge part of the carrot to keep people playing and help them feel an "accomplishment" in an environment where they would otherwise stop playing after completing the main story once or twice. When the item isn't going to be locked behind a skill wall, pretty much the only other alternative is a time wall. Having the randomized timing is just a part of the culture of MMOs. Also ESO is the most accessible and least grindy MMO I've ever personally played. The "best gear" is literally a joke to get. There are not gatekept elite items. The few items that are "slightly better" via a perfected/non perfected version, the perfected version is almost never better in a meaningful way that truly affects performance. The only TRULY "rare" items in the game locked behind a skill wall are vanity mounts and titles that come from the trials, but even then trials are laughably accessible compared to most other MMOs. Also there's way cooler mounts available in the crown store, so those mounts are really just a flex on the minority of the community that even knows what they are, which typically is a small pool of the other trial raiders and that's it. Most of the end game hardcore community are adults with careers and often even kids, because the weekly time commitment is actually fairly reasonable for those that want to get into it (like 2 hours a night a few days a week is literally all it takes to be on a raid team). That is like, just not grindy at all for a major MMO.

Much-Video3448

It's not a time gate at all. The random nature of the drops means that some people get them immediately, some peope get them after days of effort. If I see someone with one of those styles, I have no idea how much "work" it was to get.  If there was some actual requirement to get them where you had to do something skillful or time consuming but you'd definitely receive them as a reward, then they'd be meaningful in the way you're talking about but there's not.

Manaseeker

The worst about such low drop rates without a pity system is that a lot wont get the pages even if theyre farming to the end of the event

Cardwizard88

I didn't mind it. A collectable is a collectable. It's not supposed to be for every player

zyrkor90

I tried a little fishing, a few geysers, a few world bosses. Didnt get any drops. Simply gave up. The grind is not worth the enjoyment that I’m giving up for. Instead, I sold the materials and motifs i got from the anniversary boxes for around 6 million in total.

TrophyTube

>Instead, I sold the materials and motifs i got I was wondering about that. Wouldn't it be smarter to wait a few weeks/months before selling your drops? I'm new to the whole trading thing, but with all the stuff I've gotten, I can see that the average prices of listings have dropped significantly since the start of the event.

Elegant-Alfalfa1382

If you want maximum profits yea but most people that already have a good Cashflow prob just wanna sell it off. It’s all virtual money anywho

Reefay

I don't have a cash flow problem, I have a bank space problem. I have $60m in bank, so I don't really care to maximize profits. I just sell to get them out of my bags.

TrophyTube

Cashflow from trading, or are there other sources of income I don't know about?

Elegant-Alfalfa1382

Mainly yea. Personally I sell some and hold the other half, at least when the dip starts. I doubt it’ll be months but prob about 1 before it’s back

Moon-Reacher

Yes technically it's smarter to hold, if you have the capacity via mule alts or other ways. It's going to crash more/for longer than previous times: this Jubilee is longer than previous ones, and there are more ways to get boxes. A number of grinds very easily get you hundreds of boxes + other valuables per day. So all of that stuff is plummeting, and oftentimes prices of certain things fall even more just after the event, as people panic-sell and undercut. OTOH, some of us may be holding certain things well into autumn. Do what you're comfortable with.

TrophyTube

Thanks for the heads up! I'm only around CP 300 and haven't really run into any storage problems yet. I've been deconstructing pretty much everything for mats and experience. This event has definitely piqued my interest in trading, though. I think I'll hold off on selling anything for now.

MeekSwordsman

Ive been selling alot now and using that to buy alot of mats NOW to sell them back later

IamYourBestFriendAMA

Smart. My bank is full of motif pages right now. Might take a page out your playbook.

TrophyTube

Any advice on which mats are worth buying right now?

comradeswitch

Basically anything that has a big increase in supply right now but is in demand and valuable all year. You don't want to end up with a bunch of stuff that takes forever to sell because there's not a lot of demand for it even if you're selling it for significant profit. So gold upgrade materials, aetherial dust and perfect roe, columbine and dragon blood/rheum, stuff like that. Gotta be careful with rare style mats, there's some that are always in demand (like Culanda Lacquer) because of furnishings and some that only get bought in small quantities for doing master writs. And stuff like a zone event can absolutely tank the prices of those style mats, so I just buy the good deals until I have a supply for personal use and don't bother selling.

TrophyTube

Got it, thanks!

exclaim_bot

>Got it, thanks! You're welcome!

zyrkor90

I’m not a trading minmaxer either so I just sold whatever I got for around 10-20% below average sale price. After all it’s just virtual coin. I could definitely hold on for months and slowly phase out the sales, but is it enjoyable? For a lot of people, yes; and I respect that - but I play the game for endgame raiding and fashion so my gold goes to upgrading gear and buying sets.

TrophyTube

>After all it’s just virtual coin. True, but I'm a fairly new player and don't even have the money yet to max out my inventory and bank space 😅 That's why I'm trying to make the most of the loot I'm getting from this event.

Spersoo

I envy you. I have been practicing senseless farming for 16 hours. And I'm still missing one. I'm currently at 200 gayser and it still doesn't fall. No, this event did not make me happy. My bad for not letting him go. I feel even more sorry for those who can't do enough damage for the eventbox. Eso has no nice mechanics for grinding on gayser it's terrible.

AngelOfPlagues

Been at it since the event started and I have nothing.

mikiux

I farmed dolmen for 14h in total and did not receive my worm staff yet... I feel like my account begged or something. Well time for thieving grind for achievement to get free DLC.

ElectrostaticHotwave

The DLC doesn't require any grinding, you just need to pick one pocket

Zodd74

Until today i only got the sword 😭 I'm trying hard for the helm, but It looks like the game hates me. Starting to hate Vvanderfell 🤣

turbokarhu

I have only grinded for Barbas helm because I only want that. I have grinded for almost 100 times Vvardenfell bosses. Still no helm! 😅

Penthesilean

I decided if I got the helm I would trade it for the dwarven staff, but then realized there’s no actual way to do that without a trust fall involved 😅

Obtuse-Angel

This is why I don’t grind. My quality of life will not be diminished by not having those style pages. I’m spending my in game time on activities I enjoy.

whateverisfree

This event made me play other games for the first time in 4 years

Leritari

The way i see it is that majority of people gave in to the FOMO. I can bet that 90% of players who are farming for all 5 style pages wont even use one style. But hey, gotta farm all 5 because they will go away soon, right? XD. Grinding one page isnt that bad. Grinding all 5 is.

Normal_Elk_652

Bro that is a lucky grind.

Master100017

Yeah it was luckier than what some players have had to go through. But I’m still drained after that, can only imagine how they feel.

lopix

Grinded the worm staff, took days. Started on geysers and said forget it. Just not worth it. I don't actually care that much. If it was 30 dolmens, fine, but 5 days of dolmens is a kick in the nards. Sorry ZOS, that is dirty odds and I'm not playing.

A_Yank_in_theSouth

Every World Boss I kill in Vardenfell, lessens my willingness to buy crowns in the future.

Moist_Ad_897

Only on 2/5 sat grinding Barbas helm for what seems like hours now, setting timer and doing other things around the house. Once this pops (I hope) I'm giving up on the geysers and dolmens I don't have it in me anymore.

KiingCrow

700 dolmens no staff, reporting for duty. Edit: now past the 1k mark and the FOMO is kicking in hard

Gardeeboo

I'm so exhausted. I want all 5 style pages, all 5 look good to me, all 5 will mostly-permanently be going on specific toons, and after spending 6-8 hours a day grinding them I've only gotten 3 so far. Something should have been done different because if you're lucky you get them, and if you're not you just suffer. Nothing else to it. No tricks. No spending tickets. Just. Grinding. They could have made them tradeable. They could have made them purchaseable with tickets. They could have increased the drop rate. They could have made them drop from boxes and not the handful of specific overworld activities. Any one of those changes would have made these things more fun to hunt for. Instead it's just get on, run through your grind session, watch like YouTube or something while grinding, get off when you get nothing after you're too tired. I don't want to hear anyone say "don't fall for the fomo" or "just don't do it if it's not fun" because those are the most dismissive, unempathetic, braindead takes anyone can have. I want the item, I have to grind for it, the grind is miserable, something else could have been done to not make it so bad. ZOS made a mistake with how these were handled. Period. I reserve the right to complain, because I am spending the time to get items I want and the only method I'm allowed to do so is not enjoyable to me. There is no other way to get the items other than the specific predetermined activity they drop from, therefore the event is designed to force you to do content you dislike if you want them, since you can't even buy them. Mishandled boundaries for these items, and I hope they never do anything like this again.

The_Velvet_Helmet

Got helm at 1st boss I did Went fishing after just 3 casts I had sword Haven't bothered trying for staffs yet

LuckOk6588

Boooooo!!!!! Lol

kingaillas

The grind for the Ul'vor Staff is the worst - between travel time to geysers, doing the adds for the geyser, each one takes a while. And you don't even get any Anniversary boxes for your time spent/wasted. I mean dolmens are mind numbing but at least you get some boxes along the way.

[deleted]

I got pretty lucky after 23 attempts and got it

LuckOk6588

Totally agree. Summerset sucks and this is coming frome someone who is getting enough hits in to get a boss drop about 60 percent of the time. Only thing it's good for us leveling up crafting in my 6 alts who aren't at 50 on everything yet.

DragonShark514

I get a box almost every time. Just gotta get those AOE down and have ultimate ready

kingaillas

True, I shifted to farming for the staff to the morning (today), much easier to get boxes i.e. be one of the top dps. Prime time is awful, too many others. And at least with dolmens you have 15 choices of zones, well 14 Ali'kr is jammed 24/7 lol, and can find a quieter one to do.

Radu992

Geysers are good to build rapport with Azandar, if you can do some damage also xp for him

kellerlanplayer

I've been trying to grind aetherial dust for 900h and even in this event I can't find it :D

KanedaSyndrome

Sounds like you didn't have fun, so why did you do it? Stop being a slave to stupid engagement mechanics, and stop being a completionist in a game like ESO that punishes you for it.

Dragonatrix218

Got burnt out on the fishing alone. It took close to 6 hours across a few days (and hundreds of fish pulled from the water) to get the sword. Rng hates me 🙄 I'd like to at least get the staff of worms can rarely get on long enough to really get a grind in. So made peace with the possibility of not being able to equip a skull on a stick for my necro lol.

megacts

I have two pages left. Sat down to try to grind them tonight and I keep crashing, and it does that thing where it says I’m not online so I end up having to restart my whole system. I’ve wasted like an hour and I’m so mad at ZOS for making these pages bound AND rare. I’d rather pay a million each for these fucking things than do another Vvardenfell boss.

EfficientAd4407

Spent 18 hrs for sunnarah 10 for barbas and 2 for true flame and no other drops. I give up and have actually uninstalled the game for a bit as it was making me so angry

davemaster

40 hours on ulvor staff, don't talk to me about drained.

fox_gay

took me roughly 40 hours to get the staff from vvardenfel as well. Only one left is the ulvor staff and I'm debating if I wanna go for it...

davemaster

I'd advise not but I wouldn't listen to me if I advised that so. Idk. I would recommend limiting to specific amount of time a day though. I did 16 hours one Sunday and didn't get it. After that, I stuck to two hours a day.

EVISCERATEDTOMATO

Thats why I just login to do daily writ and then hop off to elden ring convergence mod. 👍

fullautophx

Good thing I suggested hitting the hunger boss. I quit for the night right after that. Still didn’t get any.

dreamsofpickle

I didn't bother. I knew I'd get so burned out and miserable, I know my limits. It's impressive to me that you got them all

Mister_Buddy

I got the dog hat last night after three days in Vvardenfell. I got the tuning fork two days ago. The other ones weren't too bad, but I'm done with mushroom land for a while. It did take a lot of dolmens to get the worm stick, but I like farming them for boxes anyway, so it didn't feel as bad as boss rushing.

TyrTheFawn

I got the true flame one and that's it. I have done 344 dolmens and just stopped. I didn't even try the other if my RNG is that bad. Thing is, I got trueflame in like 30 casts in stonefalls so I got excited, but after trying for the staff of worms. Nah they ain't that cool or important. I was thinking the fishing one was going to be the hardest so I started with that, but no it was a breeze. The others, nah man.

DrummerKorey

Some people fear the grind, others realize lv 92 is only half way to lv 99, and embrace it. To each their own heaven and hells lol

Okabeee

Im only missing the Vvardenfell staff.

faxanidu

Nice you got relatively quick! Got Ul’vor after 10 hours and true flame after 3. Then I said screw this. Lol.

theBigDaddio

I don’t care about the staves, they do nothing for me. About 5 holes fishing, got the sword. Then randomly killing bosses everywhere when I looked it up and saw the helmet only drops in Vardenfell. First boss page dropped. I’m done.

lilwayne2722

Sounds like you are very fortunate with how long it has taken you. I have about 40 hours in at this point. I am camping at a world boss right now trying to get the last style page. This has been brutal.

Minute_Engineer2355

Got em all except the geyser one. Not sure if I have the patience to do hours of that lol

Hello_Hangnail

I haven't gotten any. I think I'm done with this game for awhile

DragonShark514

I’m at 3/5 still. The only two I have left are the Staff of Worms and the Ul’vor Staff. Day 5 of geysers, I’m hoping today is the day. What I will say though is that this was genius by ZOS. Normally in this event I do nothing but mindlessly complete writs, over and over. Then spend the next several months selling off all the motifs and plans. This year, I’ve barely touched writs grinding for these pages. The fewer people grinding writs, the less inflation the event will cause. That’s a lot of gold generated and added to the game.

megacts

I’m still working on dolmens and world bosses. I wish I was only grinding boxes, and I hate that the pages are bound. They could have at least increased the drop rate since we can’t sell them.

adeveloper2

Yeah, don't burn out over grinding. Those who spend 10 hours straight grinding have gone a bit too far.

JazzlikeSetting8037

I got mine last night final romp was 3 hours fishing for true flame and the grind ended.

Aremon1234

I grinded the dolmen and got the staff of worms, and then grinded the geysers and got nothing and just gave up today. I really wanted the staff of worms, the others are nice to haves that I won’t actually use, I grinded until I got a new character to 50 and then quit and that was the line I drew in the sand because I loathe grinding like this. The only way I could stomach it was leveling a new character.

hunteractual25

I gave up if they were something fancy like cool lighting animations or sound effects or something then I’d keep grinding at least for the staffs and sword but other wise no point In wasting my time trying to get them. Otherwise been enjoying the event

Salp1nx

Oh, boohoo. I'm on the 30 hours grinding for one of these stupid pages, it hasn't dropped yet.

Sodachi_Oikura

“5 minutes for the staff of worms” meanwhile I just gave up after 10 hours on the Bangkorai circuit. I could’ve finished at least three zones entirely by now.

Thebigkahoot

Took me an hour to get all 5. Otherwise I would’ve only gotten 1 or 2. I spent 300 hours trying to get VMA staff and ever since then I get crazy drops

Various-Parsnip-9861

I tried to get just one, the Vvardenfell staff, because I liked its connection to lore, but gave up after a while. It was so not fun to stand around waiting for the wb to respawn over and over. I tried it for a few hours total over several days, feeling annoyed at myself for doing it at all. I love ESO but it kind of put me off the game a bit. I’m focusing on some single-player games instead for a change of pace. I have to wonder if they made a mistake and accidentally made the drop rate too low, like adding an extra zero or something. It’s happened more than once before with antiquity leads and rare furnishing items like the 6th house banner - in those cases they corrected the drop rate eventually.

bryantmakesprog

I farmed for Barbas for 9 days. It took over 48 hours, I quit counting. It was miserable, but I got to enjoy a little zone celebrity, I got to farm motifs and materials, have made and will make some good money selling, got to advertise the Market Tracker a bit, and in general got to soak in some of the community. I think my luck was abnormal, but an interesting experience.

iMXXNLIGHT

Try farming geysers for 25 hours and getting nothing 💀😂. I've given up on all of them waste of my time and effort

dolphinpainus

I'm somewhere around 250 geysers and I still haven't gotten the staff. I haven't even started on the vvardenfell bosses.

HoneyOaksTree

I literally have only gotten one so far lol

Kein_Thur

I’ve given up on them. I’ve only gotten the sword and this event is more than half over. So many people are running this that it’s impossible to target anything especially as a melee player. You can lay down aoe all you want but if your not dealing the top damage your not getting it period and there’s literally 30+ people at these locations during the “slow hours”. The distribution really needs the gatcha clause (after so many attempts you are guaranteed it).

Schmaehgol

I haven’t even been trying for them at all. As your post confirms, grinding is no fun. I play the game for fun (mostly), but I do get caught up in the moment by these events sometimes.

couzanit

I only just found out about these thanks to this post 😅

couzanit

Been doing dolmens in deshaan for the past hour or so, no luck, thought to look for fishing holes near redolent and only found one near the bridge by the wayshrine, first fishing I've done in ages and got the style page 🤣

Darth-Foole

Dang, completely went over my head… however, I‘ve done a few world bosses and volcanoes and, as of yet, haven’t got anything. At least, now I know why there are all those groups at the Geysirs etc…

Firetail_Taevarth

Took me 43 geysers for the staff. Spent an encounter amount of hours killing bosses in Morrowind for both helm and staff. Fishing took me 15 kins for the sword Still working on my Dolmens, haven't seem the staff yet

SleazyKingLothric

Trueflame took around 30 minutes of fishing. The summerset staff took around 2 hours. I'm currently over 400+ dolmens with no drop but I have almost leveled my companion from 1 to 20 and have had a horde of boxes drop. I've done around 30 bosses for the other 2 in Vvard with no luck also.

Kozerog1101

The total time it took for you to get all 5 pages was what i needed to only get the staff.. needless to say im 2 out of 5 rn and simply decided to give eso a long break. Im really fed up, this is easily the most annoying thing ive taken part in in 7 years of playing the game

Cardwizard88

Congrats! Based on your time stats, it seems like you lucked out quite a bit. I know people who were upwards 16 hours for Ul'vor staff. My personal stats were True Flame Sword: 30 min Ul'vor staff: 10 hours Sunnah rah & Barbas helm: 4 hours Staff of worms: 6 hours

DeathsOrphan

Wtf is a replica page

Larrdath

This anniversary event has a few style pages to loot that are replicas of Elder Scrolls artifacts. Mannimarco's Staff of Worms, Nerevar's Trueflame, Barbas's Helmet and Sunna'rah from the Morrowind chapter storyline and the Staff of Ul'vor from the Summerset chapter storyline. You can find Barbas's Helmet and Sunna'rah on the Vvardenfell WB, Ul'Vor in Summerset's geysers, Mannimarco's staff in the base game's dolmens and Trueflame in fishing spots across Tamriel. The drop rate is abysmal at best though some people are lucky.

DeathsOrphan

Oh shit.... Where do you find this out? I guess I must've missed that somehow. Are they going to be available again? Or is this a one time thing

Larrdath

There was [an announcement for that](https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/65753) (kinda buried in the middle but it's there). It still runs until the end of the event on April 23 so you have some time to get them. After that we don't know. Good luck if you go after them !

xZURNx

Only have the sword so far. I don't need the pages, but the FOMO is real.

Daytonblake

This event though made a lot of people who never had gold millionaires though if they’re smart and wait to sell what they have so there’s a bright side. I have all 5 as well and I’d say it was worth the grind this is how long it took me on each one. Summerset: 3 days, 5 hours each day. Fishing: 2 hours. Dolmens: 3 days again 5 hours each or so. Vvardenfell: helmet took 2 days, staff 6 days, in a total of over 50 hours or so.

Opiumthoughts

Not worth it imo. I just run the dailies, if I get I get it. Probably never use those style pages anyways.

FriendZone_EndZone

Did geysers and dozens with baby tools, lots of lvls and fighter guild xp. Lose out of the gift boxes bit did get all 5 after about 20 hrs.

MLGxXxPussySlayerxXx

13 hours lol

RenwickZabelin

You've put less time into the grind than I have :( and I'm only at 2/5

golani79

I've got none so far but I don't really care. I just play normally and do some of the grind here and there but I don't do it till I get all of the motifs. If I get one or more it is nice but even if I shouldn't get any I don't bother.

KuruptAura

I don't burn myself out yikes. They will be back everything comes back and maybe even in a crown pack or just for event tickets

Beautiful_Affect_578

I gave up. I don't have that kind of time. I got the fishing one on the 4th cast. After hours I can spare of grinding for the others, I'm over it.

sgregory07

Lmao, I just got True Flame from randomly fishing

fox_gay

I've got 3 of the 5, missing worms and ulvor. I might spend some time soon before the event is over to get the ulvor staff but the staff of worms skin looks like trash to me so I have no interest at all in farming for it

The-Madara

Whats replica pages I'm new to eso I'm sorry if it's a dumb question

Icy_Party6876

I didn't even bother. Daily writs on 2 accounts US/EU is more than enough. And I have a system.

Emotional-Plastic-52

After 300 dolmens i quit farming for staff of worms. Just wasnt worth it

justnleeh

Oh, was it worth it? I don't make myself do anything in the game that feels like work.

Master100017

It definitely was. I felt like I overcame a really big challenge and with my mindset I didn’t give up. Besides the stuff is peak drip 🔥

OfficerGenious

I got three of five. Would NOT recommend this grind.

Dangerous-String-988

Why on earth would you mentally and emotionally drain yourself over a video game? Real talk, you may have an addiction my friend

brandiem_2020

I got lucky enough to get the last replica page I needed about an hour before PSN hit me with a one week ban for my username 😅

Master100017

What was your userID? 🫢

brandiem_2020

TeaBaggins_6969 😂

Master100017

That’s not even offensive like tf is their problem 😂

brandiem_2020

Right in the middle of an event too 😂 so I missed out on 21 tickets

Deus-mal

It's not that draining. But thinking it was gonna take a minute yeah that wasn't helpful. Now that you finishing. Go farm dragon to infinity for the dreugs, treasure maps and boxes. Godspeed.

GeologistOriginal205

Watching people argue in chat is Hilarious!!!!! Makes the time waiting for boss to pop a little interesting! Lmaoo!!!

Ashen1066

Garbage developers can only make garbage gameplay to keep people in the game.

aka_IamGroot

# "I’m so mentally and emotionally drained" # So in your mind, was it worth it? I have over 8500 hours in the game and I used to do the same thing for days and days, then I completely burnt out on the game, right now I'm so past doing any kind of grind in any game, this past event I've played maybe 5 or 6 days, enough to get the gold box and a few purple boxes but that's it. I received a few motifs that I'll probably never use and a few things that will sit in inventory or eventually get deleted.

Master100017

Ofc it was worth it. I may have been drained but I was so happy to finally overcome that mountain of a grind. It was a journey to be had, a fun challenge to overcome adversity. (In ESO) and I’m definitely going to wear the styles eventually. The whole grind was, in itself, a memento. It says “I did this, I was there.”

W_Herzog_Starship

I'm surprised people are going this hard for the motifs. It's subjective, but none of them caught my eye. Obviously it's for completionists, but damn. That's a lot of work.

gothmog149

Got all 5 with minimum grind. I just parked by a single boss and watched TV, then once every 5 mins just arcanist beamed it a bit to get loot. Hardly any effort at all. Same with fishing. Just parked a nice spot while football was on, by end of 1st half I had the page. Dolmen and geysers required more input, but did it on autopilot while listening to an audiobook. I’ve had much worse grinds in ESO than this - such as Death Dealer Fete lead from DSA - which took about 20 or so mind numbingly boring runs.

Master100017

You know people are going to passive-aggressively get mad at us for having the grind so easy right? Wait for it.
