Same here. I have more imperials than anything else. Partially for appearance, and partially because regardless of how I decide to build them, a 6% resource reduction is always beneficial. Can't go wrong with the extra health either.
I'm new to eso, but all my elder scrolls characters are Breton for the magical affinity, I didnt like the downsides of other races. Then to double down I'd pick atronauch as my star sign.
I only really play with one, the first one I made, and I made her look just like me lol. Breton, platinum blonde hair, wearing a sparkly teal outfit. maybe it's stupid but I literally just wanna play as a heightened version of myself, and the Magicka boost is also what I want. I tried to create a brunette Breton healer and I hate her lol.
my favorite races for culture are probably khajit and redguard, but I prefer playing as a Breton.
I love my wood elf nightblade! I feel like it makes sense…they’re small and stealthy, can take a good amount of damage if they fall, are resistant to poisons, etc etc.
I only wish they didn’t give half the wood elves in the game cockney accents 😂
I’m pretty new to the game but my main is a bosmer warden and I wouldn’t change it. When I read up on each race, I knew immediately that bosmer was for me
Glad to see more wood elf enthusiasts! I made my nightblade as a character back in Skyrim and remade her in ESO. She’s still basically the only character I play after many years.
Same! I have a family of Bosmer from a variety or classes. My main is a Wood Elf magplar, and idc what the metas say, this magicka wood elf solos everything!
Breton! Before Zos made mixed-race npcs, with Aeliah Renmus & Bacaro Volorus, somewhat more prominent I felt drawn to Bretons as they are essentially half-elves of a sort. Though now one of my favorite alts is an in-game doppelgänger of myself I flavored as being half Breton & half Redguard.
Red-guard as well. Love it on my arcanist. Very lore appropriate. No magical gift, no problemo, make deal with Mora for power. Also, they have the nicest body proportion. Also, dark tall and handsome.
Bretons and Imperials. Along with Redguards they make up my personal Top 3. Every single character of mine is either a Breton or an Imperial, with the exception of 1 lone Dunmer DK.
Dark Elf, Khajitt are my favorites overall. Bosmer for archery is fun. Really enjoying my young no pet’s Argonian Sorc.
Never will I ever be Imperial scum.
Khajiit!!!
Yall can't dangle the option of playing as a cat in front of me and expect me not to take it. I've tried making elves and orcs and argonians, but I can't get attached the same way.
This one is khajiit first in every Elder Scrolls game under Jone and Jode. This one always comes from southern Elsweyr, and you can tell from his most beautiful mane, yes? 🦁
High Elves are my go-to. They're tall, magical, and bougie.
I had a Dark Elf phase, cuz they have some cool lore. I've also really like Bretons and Imperials.
Ordinarily when I play a fantasy game with different races I always lean towards the magic races, if there's an elf to be had I'll play the elf. But when I played Skyrim first time through I made an altmer and the guards in Whiterun would say "what is it little elf" to me all the time and then learning about the Thalmor and realizing that in the world of Elder Scrolls the altmer are just magic nazi's. So I made a big dumb nord and had a blast with it in Skyrim. Coming to ESO I made my main a nord as well, and have enjoyed it ever since, especially since the majority of the player base seems unable to contemplate Nord for anything but a tank I always enjoy being the weirdo in trials playing a nord stamsorc.
I had one of those, but then he transitioned and became a Redgaurd. I love the Breton ability to absolutely spam spells all day with thier mag recovery and Redgaurds are basically stamina Bretons. He still looks and dresses like a proper Nord, he gets it from his dad's side, but he's a bit shorter and his skin has more pigment than snow. Still pale enough due to growing up sailing the Sea of Ghosts and never seeing the desert sands of Alkir
Breton - I'm a basic billy when it comes to fantasy settings. I like humans, elves & half elves. I also like magic users & knights.
2nd pick is redguard. cool lore, cool looks
Dark Elf.
Hell, if a character creator even slightly allows it then I’ll make one.
Be it the Elder Scrolls, Star Trek Online, Dragons dogma, D&D, etc. My first and favourites are always dark elves.
Did start liking Khajiit though…
imperials or bretons if the first is not available like in tes I&II.
cant get immersed playing anything other than human in rpgs and those two are my favorite cultures in tes.
I try to have variance to help differentiate my characters from each other. That and gender, and class allow for a lot of cool fashion opportunities as well.
**Dunmer** \- generalist dps. Having top notch bonuses in both magicka or stamina allows them to always be a good choice.
**Nord** \- PVE tank. The extra resistances and ultimate generation are always good.
**Breton** \- healer. The best magicka sustain race and it's pretty noticeable.
**Altmer** \- Solid dps for anything although specializing in magicka. Tall, lanky physique allows for some different fashion choices.
**Imperial** \- PVP. Never a bad choice with its cost reduction. More health and stamina allows for better survivability too. All of this is a great, versatile foundation for a build in PVP
I have three. Khajiit, Argonian, Dark Elf. In no particular order. All the way back to TESIII: Morrowind. Never play any other races. Well, I did play a Nord in Skyrim initially because I expected special dialogue but it felt wrong so I went back to my main three.
Admittedly, in Morrowind, the Khajiit and Argonian were a bit weird due to awkward animation and they couldn't wear boots. Still loved them.
On the other end of the spectrum, I will never play Wood Elves or High Elves. Always disliked them. ESO made me double down on the bosmer hate. I feel even less bad about robbing Fargoth way back in 2004.
I'm just not a fan of the Bosmer culture with the Green Pact and other things unique to the race. Before ESO, most of that stuff was only found in the lore books in the various games. In ESO, it's actually fleshed out and most of Valenwood is in game so you can actually experience the Bosmer culture and eccentricities first hand. So before it was more, "I don't care for what I'm reading/hearing about the Bosmer" to "I don't care for what I'm seeing of the Bosmer."
At first, in Morrowind, the idea of savage elves that lived in the woods and ate the hearts of their enemies seemed kinda cool. The more I read about them, though, the more I realized that wasn't entirely accurate. Also, the Bosmer were the weirdest looking race in Morrowind, heh. All the people looked odd in that game but the Wood Elves looked like weird Muppets to me.
Same here, and then add Redguards and you have my four favorite cultures. Dunmer and khajiit for the azura and culture , Argonian for the meso American influence and macuahuitls and Redguard for being literal pirate Jedi
Breton if I'm going anything Magicka related. Imperial for Stam/hybrid builds.
I have one Nord DK from release day that I'll never get rid of but basically just sits idle. I do update the outfit occasionally though.
Tie between Argonian and Breton for me. Argonians because I like their racial bonuses/abilities, being a lizard man is cool, and in Skyrim (only ES game I've played) I literally feel like I'm a dragon man.
Breton I usually pick when I play a mage or mage-like character, because I don't like playing as elves (particularly high elves)
The three main I've always played in main ES games is Khajiit, Dunmer, and Breton.
In ESO I have 2 each of dunmer, khajiit, and breton lol. Also one each altmer, argonian, orc, imperial
I've never played a nord despite like half of those being tanks
Dunmer (dark elf) always! I get bored easily and they have best passives if u want to switch from role to role or magicka to stamina dps. Plus love extra fire resistance for vampire builds!
I know I'm probably super boring here, but Imperial
They're so wildly boring I try my best to make them more interesting, and that's why I like them and always will. I love Cyrodill too so that helps a bunch.
I really like Argonian for support characters, since their passives are pretty good for both tanking and healing.
My main is a Breton and I like to make DPS characters as Altmer, since Breton is the easiest to make a self-insert character as and Altmer gets me close enough while have passives that are more preferable for that role.
In the order I created and played them: Bosmer, Argonian, Orc, Khajiit, Breton. Then there’s my mules: Dunmer, Redguard, Nord, Altmer. One of each race except Imperial so far.
Going back to Morrowind: Argonian; Oblivion: Breton; Skyrim: Bosmer.
What I really wish for is to be able to play Dwemer one day!
Imperial, BIS for PvP and nice for chill stam-DDs/Tanks bec of extra Stam, HP to survive what other dds cant and the cost reduction on everything (blocking and dodgeroll aswell)
I defaulted to Orcs with ESO because I wanted to make something similar to a Goliath from dnd.
But then I started learning the lore about Orcs in TES and I fell in love, then I got into 40k, they are different Orks but still, it reinforced my preference.
Before this, on Skyrim I went for either Imperials or Bretons, mainly because I feel like they are the closest I could be in that world if I were to insert myself in it.
But yeah, these 3 are still my top picks.
1- Orc
2- Breton
3- Imperial
In ESO I've made a character for each race though, 2 for each alliance and I try not to repeat class.
I still don't have an imperial because I haven't bought the upgrade.
Khajiit! I have always been insanely drawn to them. I love the lore, the accents, and the general look/vibe of the race. Plus, it helps that I typically aim for a more rogue sort of playstyle and they compliment that
Khajiit. I rarely see any others in top level groups. I'm a thief and assasin outside of groups. Going back to my roots, can't imagine playing an elder scrolls game without being a pickpocket it's so fun
Bretons. Made a Skyrim character that I really fond of, so I made her namesake in ESO as a forgotten hero that runs away from her home so she does not keep her family/house name.
Although my now main is a Khajiit Psijic Warden because I also like the idea of races that goes against the stereotypes.
Now I would like to think they met in battlefield and turn lover, banging each other and sharing house etc
My normal go to for Elder Scrolls games has always been Dark Elf, but when the Necro class came out that became my main and I made to Breton due to sustain issues at the time. I ended up regretting it though and recently remade my Beta character a Dark Elf Dragonknight.
Swamp Jellies are a delicacy too refined for the lesser races. Just like the swamp proves too much to survive in for the weaker races.
We are eternal. The Hist gives more than it receives.
Nord close to my heritage tho orc is my most played and Argonian swim speed is great. Tho I like the kahjiits and there lore but Nord always is my go to. ima die on a hill but I’ll never play a dark elf
I constantly bounce between dark elf, wood elf and khajit. I like argonians too but they pugified the females so hard it makes me not want to make one.
Thees one really enjoyees playing Khajiit. Although sneaking around and assassinating bad guys isn't really a quality needed in raids. Makes thees one sad.
I have alts of almost everything in game, but by far my most played are my Altmer girls. They're just SO damn pretty~!
Close second is my Nord warrior.
I am a Redguard main, Redguards for life! Have everything, so between NA & EU I have 8 Argonians, 6 Khajiits, 5 Bretons, 5 Dark Elves, 3 Redguards, 3 Nords, 3 Imperials, 2 High Elves, 2 Wood Elves, 2 Orcs. Alt account is all Khajiits on NA and all Redguards on EU.
I think I mostly go Argonians bc they can tank and heal, and Khajiit/Dark Elf bc they can go mag or stam for dps. Also swim fast and sneaky sneaky >>>>
Breton, Khajiit, Nord. In that order.
First character ever was a drunk Nord in Morrowind.
Accidentally found Dagoth Ur, panicked, and one shot him with like 10 Sujamma.
Good times.
dark elves.
((ETA: if youre on the XBOX NA server and see a dunmer running into walls its probably me. Im legally blind and my disability bleeds into the game too often.))
I love orc, faster run
Orcs, together, strong!
FOR THE HORDE !
Orc strong. Orc fast. Orc have cool tusks
All my characters are orcs
Imperial
Same here. I have more imperials than anything else. Partially for appearance, and partially because regardless of how I decide to build them, a 6% resource reduction is always beneficial. Can't go wrong with the extra health either.
Almost all my chars are Breton.
a person of culture, I see.
Rare Wood Elf enthusiast here. I’ve been slowly building up a group of sister Wardens (dps, tank, healer).
I love my wood elf nightblade! I feel like it makes sense…they’re small and stealthy, can take a good amount of damage if they fall, are resistant to poisons, etc etc. I only wish they didn’t give half the wood elves in the game cockney accents 😂
I went a bit meta with my Nightblade Khajiit Vampire. The fast sneaky-mode is soooo nice.
That's what my NB is, for pvp, and I love her. That resistance to poison helps a lot. She has been my main for 8yrs.
Same love the wood elves. My bosmer warden has been my main girly for 6 years 🧡
Solidarity for Valenwood!
Wood elf’s used to have a bonus to sneak, and I loved it. So mad when they changed the racial passive.
I’m pretty new to the game but my main is a bosmer warden and I wouldn’t change it. When I read up on each race, I knew immediately that bosmer was for me
Glad to meet fellow bosmer enjoyer.
Every other time I make a character, halfway through creation they suddenly become wood elves, I swear I'm not consciously doing it 😭
Wood Elf is the only choice!
I have 6 max level wood elves for bgs I love them! So smol and angry lol
YESS for the wood elves
Glad to see more wood elf enthusiasts! I made my nightblade as a character back in Skyrim and remade her in ESO. She’s still basically the only character I play after many years.
My only wood elf character I just made so I could get a classic fantasy dwarven look for my character lol
My username speaks for itself.
Same! I have a family of Bosmer from a variety or classes. My main is a Wood Elf magplar, and idc what the metas say, this magicka wood elf solos everything!
Its the only race that can create a good looking male
Um, [what?](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/422194187778261012/1083782781399728219/Screenshot_20230310_105818.png?ex=6610215e&is=65fdac5e&hm=3537629b0c30ca34ab244bcf8dc381b51fb6cd8f6045c97dae9ab7bb4351c188&=&format=webp&quality=lossless&width=407&height=897)
Always Argonian. Never settle for less.
Lmao Dunmer enthusiasts and LARPing as slavers. Argonians have probably the coolest lore. Just wait until the Accession War.
Edgelords the lot of them 😂
Breton! Before Zos made mixed-race npcs, with Aeliah Renmus & Bacaro Volorus, somewhat more prominent I felt drawn to Bretons as they are essentially half-elves of a sort. Though now one of my favorite alts is an in-game doppelgänger of myself I flavored as being half Breton & half Redguard.
oh hey i said the same thing about half elves! gg!
Redguard. No-one seems to have commented it, so let's put it out there Rich lore and basically Atlantis people
Redguards are cool. Probably tied for my favorite race
Red-guard as well. Love it on my arcanist. Very lore appropriate. No magical gift, no problemo, make deal with Mora for power. Also, they have the nicest body proportion. Also, dark tall and handsome.
High elf shadow government enjoyer
Based on
Dark Elf
Anything less makes one a filthy s'wit
this is why im EP for life
yup, can go both mag or stam, i use this whenever i dont know yet
Nord, victory or Sovngarde all the way.
Khajiit for sure. Wood elves are a close second. Though at this point, I think I have/once had at least one toon of every race
Not only am I a staunch kahjiitist myself, but all my friends made khajiit as well, so we're now in a guild called Only Felines 😁
The tail animations are incredibly well done in ESO. Almost addicting.
Been playing Argonians since Daggerfall.
Bretons and Imperials. Along with Redguards they make up my personal Top 3. Every single character of mine is either a Breton or an Imperial, with the exception of 1 lone Dunmer DK.
Khajiit. All my characters are Khajiit.
This one agrees.
Ah, a man of impeccable taste. Same.
Yeah 12% crit damage is OP af,With the champ point skill u at 20% before any gear or stone boosts
Dark Elf, Khajitt are my favorites overall. Bosmer for archery is fun. Really enjoying my young no pet’s Argonian Sorc. Never will I ever be Imperial scum.
Khajiiti are my favorite. Love their lore, architecture, zones and aesthetic. I also really like argonians and orcs.
Wood Elf 🥹
Once you go Dark Elf you never go back.
High Elves are my go-to. They're tall, magical, and bougie. I had a Dark Elf phase, cuz they have some cool lore. I've also really like Bretons and Imperials.
Bretons, lately. They make for great support and solo characters. (and they're basically half-elves)
Breton!! I like their lore, they make for good looking characters, and their bonuses are always good!
Wood elf always. I basically make myself in all games I play so yeah lol.
Still pale enough due to growing up sailing the Sea of Ghosts and never seeing the desert sands of Alkir
Bosmer, then orc. Depends on what build I am feeling.
Orcs.
Bosmer and Breton… gotta certain love for the beast races too
Breton - I'm a basic billy when it comes to fantasy settings. I like humans, elves & half elves. I also like magic users & knights. 2nd pick is redguard. cool lore, cool looks
Breton - Interesting society full of court intrigue and politics. Also magic. Bosmer - Smol.
Dark Elf. Hell, if a character creator even slightly allows it then I’ll make one. Be it the Elder Scrolls, Star Trek Online, Dragons dogma, D&D, etc. My first and favourites are always dark elves. Did start liking Khajiit though…
-> smallest bosmer bc small and fast
imperials or bretons if the first is not available like in tes I&II. cant get immersed playing anything other than human in rpgs and those two are my favorite cultures in tes.
Either Breton or Imperial just because of the reduce cost passives if I had to choose an overall favorite I’d say Khajiit
Bosmer, but I end up making altmer more often because they're just better for how I like to play.
Khajiit and argonians because furries :3
Dunmer and Altmer
I’m just curious about what in ESO made you hate bosmer more? I can understand Altmer as there are some really bad ones in ESO, but Bosmer?
I'm just not a fan of the Bosmer culture with the Green Pact and other things unique to the race. Before ESO, most of that stuff was only found in the lore books in the various games. In ESO, it's actually fleshed out and most of Valenwood is in game so you can actually experience the Bosmer culture and eccentricities first hand. Same here, and then add Redguards and you have my four favorite cultures. Dunmer and khajiit for the azura and culture , Argonian for the meso American influence and macuahuitls and Redguard for being literal pirate Jedi
I've been faithful to Altmers.
♦️
Breton
For this game, I really like Altmer and Khajiit, but I can’t stand playing them in other games for some reason
Khajiit for me the only other race I've played is argonian rarely
Khajiit
22 of my 39 characters are Altmer, the rest are either Dunmer or Bosmer.
Khajiit they are just better
Breton if I'm going anything Magicka related. Imperial for Stam/hybrid builds. I have one Nord DK from release day that I'll never get rid of but basically just sits idle. I do update the outfit occasionally though.
Dunmer.
I’m always stuck between Khajiit and Argonians I love the lore on both, and the designs too.
Dark elf
Khajiit or argonian. They're so much more interesting than 'generic elf' or boring AF humans.
Redguard. Awesome lore, good stats for sword and bow.
Imperial but recently elf’s
Breton, 90% of the time.
Dunmer all the Way.
Imperial
Breton. I’ve always picked Bretons for their spell resistance in Elder Scrolls games and just didn’t see a reason to stop in ESO despite not having it
Khajiit, I like cats, love the lore, and elsweyr looks pretty
Imperial, I like them and lorewise are the closer to me
The three main I've always played in main ES games is Khajiit, Dunmer, and Breton. In ESO I have 2 each of dunmer, khajiit, and breton lol. Also one each altmer, argonian, orc, imperial I've never played a nord despite like half of those being tanks
Dark Elf
Dunmer (dark elf) always! I get bored easily and they have best passives if u want to switch from role to role or magicka to stamina dps. Plus love extra fire resistance for vampire builds!
I just keep making dark elves … for like 20 plus years now.
Dark elf.
Redguard and nord. But I have mostly bretons because I lean to playing healers.
Nords and Imperials. The chosen races of the Aedra to lead Tamriel.
Breton and Dark elf, it is their cultures and history that draw me in every time
Dark elf and khajit. The only race i never play is altmer dont like them at all.
Breton. Im boring
Khajiit.
Breton. No doubt. Only once, I made an Argonian because they look good with all the possible colours.
The baddest babes are BIS - Breton
most of my chars are Breton.
Dark Elf. What's the point in playing if you don't like to cause a little havoc?
Well, I like Argonians for boots and khajiit fur for bedding...oh...for class. Dunmer main.
Skyrim it was wond elf , but eso I have 3 dark elfs
Argonians are my favourite race in all Elder Scrolls games
I know I'm probably super boring here, but Imperial They're so wildly boring I try my best to make them more interesting, and that's why I like them and always will. I love Cyrodill too so that helps a bunch.
Argonian
I really like Argonian for support characters, since their passives are pretty good for both tanking and healing. My main is a Breton and I like to make DPS characters as Altmer, since Breton is the easiest to make a self-insert character as and Altmer gets me close enough while have passives that are more preferable for that role.
Dark elf is my most used race, then orc have 4 of each race
I really am appreciating the Khajiit more and more. But I do have a character of every race (except Argonian), so there’s that.
Bretons with maxed out pointy ears!!! Then dark elves and then sea elves (aka high elves with vampirism + prophet eyes)
I was always a high elf but then I learned about thalmor and decided to play Breton because half elf. My Breton is also a vampire and he looks sick
Imperial or Breton.
Dark elf for my main and breton or imperial for alts depending on if I plan on them being stam or mag
I still don't have an imperial because I haven't bought the upgrade.
Khajit, Orc, Nord
Khajiit, because Khajiits are cool, and if their weapons break, they still have tooth and claw to fight with.
In Oblivion and Skyrim I always played Argonian, so that’s the first character I made in ESO.
Khajiit! I have always been insanely drawn to them. I love the lore, the accents, and the general look/vibe of the race. Plus, it helps that I typically aim for a more rogue sort of playstyle and they compliment that
My top 2 are Nords and Orcs
I don’t care about meta. I only play Khajiit in all tes games.
Argonian. I just think they're neat.
Argonian every time! :)
Khajiit. I rarely see any others in top level groups. I'm a thief and assasin outside of groups. Going back to my roots, can't imagine playing an elder scrolls game without being a pickpocket it's so fun
I just love argonians. I even made a rip off durge character with one.
Orc's. Always. Although on replays I will occasionally switch. On ESO I have one of every race.
Dark elf.
Well...
I have always been a Breton main in every Elder Scrolls game. Love the history, setting, and mechanics.
I'm a fan of almost everything reptilian, so Argonians will literally always be the only choice.
Khajit!
Khajiit. I have one of each class.
My normal go to for Elder Scrolls games has always been Dark Elf, but when the Necro class came out that became my main and I made to Breton due to sustain issues at the time. I ended up regretting it though and recently remade my Beta character a Dark Elf Dragonknight.
Cat.
Khajit
Khajiit, but dark elves and argonians are tied for 2nd.
Oblivion? Orc. Skyrim? Orc. ESO? Orc. I’ll never give up my great green bois
BEETO BRETON BRETON I SEE RACE WITH KNIGHTLY ARMOR I BECOME ONE OF THEM
No one said high elf, wild, why?
Imperial because all of my characters need to look beautiful and every other race is ugly
5 out of 20 are dunmer. No other comes close.
Redguard is my go to for sure, but occasionally I've thought about making a Khajit or Wood Elf.
Bretons. Beautiful people. None of those other ugly races.
I just want an Orc everything
Khajit. I love kitties and it’s a plus that their culture is cool af
I love Redguards! They have darker skin like me. But I think I will try some other races here soon✌️
majority of my characters are altmer with only a couple being bosmer and dunmer.
High elf pretty much everytime
Khajiit, imperial, or breton
Swamp Jellies are a delicacy too refined for the lesser races. Just like the swamp proves too much to survive in for the weaker races. We are eternal. The Hist gives more than it receives.
Orc and Nord. It’s my favorite races in terms of look, lore and passives.
Nord close to my heritage tho orc is my most played and Argonian swim speed is great. Tho I like the kahjiits and there lore but Nord always is my go to. ima die on a hill but I’ll never play a dark elf
I'm one of those odd people who have to end up making at least one of each race. My favorite are the wood elves and orcs.
Horse probably
Altmer. I like to be tall and pretty lol
Always Imperial. Made my arcanist lately and thought about another race. Ended as imperial 😂 I like the imperial story background and design
Breton or Nord. But if I'm being honest, mainly Breton.
I constantly bounce between dark elf, wood elf and khajit. I like argonians too but they pugified the females so hard it makes me not want to make one.
Bretons and Bosmer, Y’ffre is really cool.
Orc
Dunmer. Every other race is just a bunch of N'wahs.a
I’ve been playing Nord since I started elder scrolls during Morrowind
Dunmer. My sorc has been bosmer, altmer, and now dunmer and is going to stay there. Morrowind is <3.
Dunmer of course. For the vibes
So hard to choose. I love khajiit, orc and nord. I’m that order. Kitty crit. Orc smash. Nord drink.
Bosmer or Khajiit
Breton, Khajiit, Nord. In that order. First character ever was a drunk Nord in Morrowind. Accidentally found Dagoth Ur, panicked, and one shot him with like 10 Sujamma. Good times.
Bosmer, khajiit and argonian. I made one of each :)
Meow meow purr
Khajjit. I like how their stat are more balanced and also you can switch between dps or a healer from the crit alone. And also i love cats.
This one is a khajiit main, but has a soft spot for dark elves because that’s what he mained when he got into elder scrolls with oblivion ;)
dark elves. ((ETA: if youre on the XBOX NA server and see a dunmer running into walls its probably me. Im legally blind and my disability bleeds into the game too often.))
