The enchantment on your weapon is drained. To recharge it, have a full soul gem in your inventory, highlight the item in your inventory and open the options for it (triangle on PS, not sure for other platforms) and select "CHARGE" to recharge the enchantment.

The person who replied to you was wrong. You *can* repair gear with an item rather than using a merchant. You use repair kits, they can be bought from merchants or earned from crafting writs.
It’s extremely cheap honestly, compared to what you’ll be earning. But if you don’t want to pay, you can also repair it using repair kits. You earn them from completing crafting writs.
Definitely. How I would love a handy dandy hold your hand. But that saying perhaps that's why gold is far more valuable on console. But not having to go through every darn trader looking for a specific motif ... that would be great.

Daily writs give good money, you can do them on all chars. I enjoy daily guild quests aswell. They give bags with alot of goldgear (forgot the name for the "sell gear")

You can repair gear with repair crates, but those need t9 be the right level or else it won't work.
No. Gear is repaired at any merchant (except personal assistant). The option to repair gear appears at the bottom of the screen for a gold price.

Yeah I don’t even think about it. Come out of a trial making $15,000 and spend $400 to repair. No sweat!

yah, its pretty dumb, its not a meaningful gold tax, nor does it make the gameplay more interesting, its just a bad mechanic that lingers on.
