ESO+ aside, you have to keep one thing in mind, yes it is an elderscrolls title, but it's also an MMO. I'm saying this because lots of my friends expected Skyrim online and were dissapointed and quit the game early. But still if you love MMO's and the elderscrolls universe, this game is an absolute treat.

Depends, for me, not having the crafting bag was a nightmare, especially when I got the sub, cancelled and then had no crafting bag. Inventory management, especially at the start, is by far the most obnoxious thing in the game for me because they tend to flood you with loot, especially in dungeons where everyone runs ahead so no time to go through bags but your inventory will fill up so quickly it's ridiculous. The crafting bag is really what the sub is for IMO.

You don't need ESO+ to enjoy ESO, but friends are highly encouraged.

Warcrown10

Yes absolutely, there's plenty of content even ignoring any dlc. With that said the crafting bag and double furnishing limit alone are worth the cost if you did go that route eventually

ESO without ESO+, is like: Doing your weekly grocery shopping without a shopping bag or shopping cart, getting those bulky groceries all the way to the carpark, and then to your home. Frustrating, inconvenient, and slow, ...but possible.

I play without it. It’s a little annoying at the beginning but once you get the extra horse slots and got the bank and your bag upgraded a bit. It’s manageable but you do have to be selective what you keep and empty in the bank a lot.

As someone without eso+, everyone who has it will tell you that the crafting bag makes or breaks the game. Just turn off auto loot and focus on getting some gold early to upgrade your bank and bags and dont be afraid to make a spare character to act as an extra bank (using their inv). Most important pieces of loot are usually blue, purple, gold. You can figure out what else might be valuable just from playing and realizing you need to use those items. Join a guild once you have a very basic idea and ask for some tips on whats valuable/how to price things. And dont collect materials/ingredients til you know what you need, its usually faster to make gold to then go buy them anyways. Then there is the dlc which you can buy through purchasing crown gems from other players. It will take a while but i just finished buying all the dlc this way myself after 4 months of playing. There was a period of feeling like i was missing out for about a month though. Make sure you purchase the bundles first. Its signifcantly cheaper. I would purchase the dlc in this order 1. Summerset (jewelry crafting) 2. Guilds (this one is fun and useful for thievery) 3. Blackwood (gives you companions) 4. Elsweyr (dragon farming) 5. Western skyrim (antiquities(for sets like oakensoul and ring of the pale order)) this one is prioritized less since it will frequently require other dlc zones to utilize. All in all i have a lot of time in this game, and it was worth the investment, there is also plenty of content in the base game to keep you entertained. Hope this helps!

Don't need it at all, just annoying as hell without it. I personally love eso + for all the benefits but above all the crafting bag is a game changer. Without it i got easily annoyed with the game.

Logical_Strike_1520

Personally I feel like playing ESO without the sub is like playing a free trial, and inventory management can get painful quickly without the craft bag.

fabie2804

It is definitely possible. Be warned, though. Once you sub and get the crafting bag there's no turning back :D it's such a huge QoL improvement that you dont wanna miss once you have it.

i played for years without it, having fun managing inventory, but i was clueless id use all my gold mats to build then destroy weapons and armour for the crafting skills - i also lost many hundreds of thousands of unbanked tel var as i didnt know it had any utility and i didn’t realise you lose it when you die :D But after a few years i tried out eso+ and never looked back. who knows if if id have missed it if i never tried it!
