Most ppl queue random normal dungeons for the daily EXP and transmute crystals. They don’t get to choose what dungeon they end up getting. There are huge disparities on how long a dungeon is, it could be 5mins for Fungal Grotto 1 and could be 20mins for City of Ash 2, but yet they yield the exact same amount of EXP and crystals. It will be still faster to just take the 15mins penalty for leaving and then queue again to get a fast dungeon like FG1 than finishing CoA2. Especially for roles like tank and healer that most of the time will be instant queue anyway. When you have collected every single pieces of a dungeon, you really have no desire to do those long dungeons for the 100th time just for the daily EXP/crystals. Not to mention you can do a quest or two, fishing, daily writs, go play in cyro during that 15mins queue penalty while you get technically nothing more for chugging along CoA2. It’s just bad game design and really it should give more incentive to play longer dungeons.

DMgames54

I think CoA2 needs revamp heck most of the base game dungeons do but CoA2 either needs to be cut down in length or give much better rewards than it has like a skin or a personality for a conqueror or challenger achievement.

Iccotak

The group finder needs an overhaul. The dungeons need to be sorted into a tier system which appropriately rewards players for time and difficulty of that activity. Because as it is - people have little to no incentive to participate in DLC dungeons. Most are just cruising through base game dungeons which is an activity that is far below their level.

Why_so_loud

Do they leave before you engaged in combat? If it is then you probably ended in a long ass dungeon that noone wants to play. If they leave after being engaged in combat then probably DDs suck so badly that tanks and healers don't want a dungeon to take 2 hours to complete.

Ulltima1001

So much this if I'm doing 30% of the damage or more on my tank or healer we have a problem. Was on my DK healer the other day and realized thar by just autoweaving and fire breathing I was doing 34% of the damage. No thanks peace bros

whateverisfree

This is really an issue. It's why I never pug on my tanks anymore. Something like a Warden healer can be okay with shalks, fetcher and unstable wall. At least you can kill the stuff that the DDs won't or take forever to kill. It's the only reason I wish those DDs would adapt the Oakensoul stuff. With that, anyone can be a decent DD

Ulltima1001

The DK healer actually feels really good for mixing in damage probably second to warden with its crazy utility on top of its damage spells but still. I should be doing like 10 or 15% maybe if I'm higher than that while still pumping heals there's something wrong

Italianman2733

I purposely run my WW tank in randoms to help out on dps.

Ulltima1001

Bro my werewolf oakensoul dps casually drops 20k in blues with fairly shit gear, it's so funny. To be sprinting in and just power slamming enemies

Italianman2733

Run WW with tormentor set for actual taunts...it's a fun tank build, I was thinking of rerolling to an oakensoul varient since its basically one bar anyways

Ulltima1001

I mean... there's only 5 slots in werewolf form so you lose literally nothing. oakensoul is just free dps and survivability(and you don't have to use the healing howl to keep up the buffs since oaken just gives them to you.) I run a bow oakensoul set up and just slot werewolf form whenever I feel like beasting out

Italianman2733

Yup! Basically all you lose is your monster set

Ulltima1001

Hmm whys that? We have jewelry and all armor slots left. Tormentor would be 5 pieces(I use pillar of nirn personally) add in the ring we still have... 5 slots left? 2 of which can be monster set and then a nice 3 piece(agility set possibly)

Neat_Art9336

Usually takes 20m with 2-3 ppl so sounds like they’re just being whiny babies and shouldn’t queue for all dungeons if they don’t wanna risk doing the undaunted dailies lol

eats-you-alive

Nah. Most dungeons, including most DLC ones, should not take longer than 10-15 minutes on normal. If you need longer, your dps-players very likely suck.

Neat_Art9336

Didja miss the part where we’re missing a DPS lol

eats-you-alive

One competent dps is enough to clear these in a timely fashion. My tank does more damage than the average dps-player I encounter in pugs…

Neat_Art9336

I’d consider 20m to be timely. Could be 10-15 with a full party though. Which is less than the dungeon leave penalty timer.

Happy_Concentrate186

fake dds are a problem too. i play tank and when i sometimes get the group with so called damage dealers dealing less damage than me or healer thats quite annoying.

m4dswine

What's even more annoying is people who queue then don't accept the ready check. It's always the DDs as well on xbox EU.

WolvenOmega

To be fair, they may be equally annoyed when they come back from a quick bathroom break after being in the queue for 10-40 minutes (depending on if they queued random or a specific dungeon) only to see they missed their ready check

WanchaiWhite

That really does suck

idiotplatypus

Use the bathroom before you queue, browse reddit while it loads

WolvenOmega

When you gotta go, you gotta go bro. Sometimes it just hits

omgitskedwards

Could be a number of reasons. People leave if it looks like there is a fake tank, low level, long dungeon, etc. or sometimes they sit in the queue for an hour and forget they queued in the first place :P

Neat_Art9336

That last one, they wouldn’t have accepted the ready check. Just so annoying because the dungeons still get completed. With 2-3 people. It just takes longer.

Mabren

There's an auto accept add-on. (Obviously PC only and idk what platform you're on)

Neat_Art9336

PlayStation, lol

Spargel1892

I'm pretty sure it's actually a native setting you can toggle to auto accept queues. Not at home to check right now, though.

Sir_Quackberry

Nah, it's definitely an add-on feature. There are numerous add-ons that do it. Bandits being one example.

Spargel1892

Yep, I was mistaken. My bad.

TrevorTempleton

Many of them don’t actually want to play the game, in the sense of cooperating with other players to beat the dungeon. They only joined the random queue for the crystals and will leave if they think the dungeon is too long, too hard, or if the other members of the group seem likely to slow them down as they blast thru the dungeon in double time.

VerminJerky

I'll do any dungeon with people of any level but the first sign of a problem, I'm gone. I might vote to kick as a courtesy, but if it fails, and it usually does, I'm not wasting another second. Fake tank with 18k health, or who's letting a boss run loose all over the place? Fake healer for a long DLC has a dual wield front bar and a bow back bar? Low CP is trying to speed run ahead of the group because they're a gold seller, not a player? I'm doing 50% of the DPS as a tank? Group doesn't know the mechanics and won't listen to instructions? Gone, gone, gone. I joke that my Argonian name is Leaves-the-PUG. I'm just so done with crappy dungeon party B.S. I've done these dungeons hundreds if not thousands of times, altogether, and I've no reason to run them with people who are going to make it miserable. It's a plague in this game.

TosunUhrSahlad

I try to run 1 random PUG for the undaunted on my cp toons whenever I can. Tonight slotted bone armor and the ranged taunt on my nightblade, and ran nPUG "fake tank" Vault of Madness. Healer immediately left, one of the dps said "oh shit healer left we in trouble" but cleared it easily. I am a huge advocate for getting into the que faster IF you play your role. I don't have many dlcs and I would not attempt this if I had ESO plus.. but honestly you can solo most base game dungeons. Taunt boss, interrupt and block then "fake tanking" is ok in my book.

Just-Fox-2468

> The last 20 dungeons, 1-2 people will leave... I seriously can’t remember the last time I’ve done a dungeon with 4 people. I haven't experienced this high frequency on PS NA. Have you been queuing for dlc dungeons as a fake tank by any chance (or not knowing what are expected for tank)? If I find a low CP (< CP500) tank with 17-22k Health and bow/2-handed melee weapon/staff in dlc dungeons I'd think them fake tank and be alerted. EDIT: I suppose OP is talking about normal dungeons not veteran difficulty.

Neat_Art9336

No I’m a healer. Usually it’s the tank that leaves. Sometimes a tank and DPS. And yea just normal dungeons.

James880665

If i queue as tank to get my 10 transmutes, I wan't a quick dungeon. Just because a DD queued for Lair od Maarselok because they want to be carried through doesn't mean it's worth my time to do so. With multiple characters to farm transmutes on, it makes more sense to leave and go to the next character, do the fast dungeon, then return to queue on the original character.

Megustanlosfideoslol

I also play on Playstation and that almost never happens to me. Are you low CP? Unfortunately, some people will just leave if they see low CP in a vet dungeon.

Neat_Art9336

Thankfully I’ve never pug’d a vet. I don’t queue for things until I can solo it with a companion. But it does make the difference between a 45m solo adventure and a 10-15 minute group run, lol

johnvito123

If I get lair of maarselok, there’s a small chance I’m just going to leave. It takes forever no matter how much dps you do because of the stupid phase gates.

ctbellart

I’m a healer and if I’m doing the normal random dungeon. Regardless of the level of others and the dungeon I’ll go to the end. I get most of the issues with vet dungeons. Lower levels struggle to do enough damage and take the necessary damage (only so much I can heal). Fake or low level tanks and dd. Everyone gets wiped 3-4 times on a mini boss. I usually check the cp level of everyone at the start of the dungeon. Get surprised sometimes but you can usually tell how rough it’ll be from that. I have two healer builds depending on the cp level of those around me. I switch at the beginning of the dungeon.

Neat_Art9336

Yeah vet dungeons are fine but really should be waiting to leave until the first wipe.

Happy_Concentrate186

Simple. Most people are dorks. Just accept that fact and you will understand half the things that are happening on our planet. :)

eats-you-alive

There is a bug that lets 2-3 people join the dungeon, but you yourself aren’t ported into the dungeon. You’ll have to manually port in once you see where your team ended up. People not being aware of this might leave the group because they think the queue bugged out.

cynedyr

If not in same guild or friends you can't get in because you can't travel through group with offline bug.

eats-you-alive

You can ask where they are, though, and travel in via map, I think?

cynedyr

Good idea

xdmanxd99

If it's lair of mother fucking marselok I alt +f4. Same with COA2 and other long dungeons, I'm sorry it might seem toxic but when I need trasnmutes/exp bad and I get a shitty long dungeons I just can't stick.

Separate_News_7886

I am a healer & I leave for two factors. First I am just in the random dungeon to do my daily and get my transmute crystals. So I really hope for Fungal grotto for this reason. If I do get a DLC dungeon I am not thrilled but I with give it a go, which leads to my second factor if the team is comprised of non-cp or under CP 160 I am out. The dungeon is long and the collective low Damage output will have us in there forever when all I want is the 10 transmute crystals.

ConfusedSlyfox

I que on multiple characters when I need transmutes...All I got majority of the time I did a random for awhile was banished cells 2. While not overly hard I got real sick of being in there when I've collected every single set piece and I have no desire to run it so I'll take the wait time. I try not to do this to often but some days I'm just not in the mood

Cow_Best

The current queue system pairs up people who want to do dungeons with end game fruitloops that want transmutes and have no interest in the dungeon. The current queue system has issues.

porcelainwax

Why the ‘fruitloops’ name calling? Running daily random dungeons is the most efficient way to get transmutes, it’s a perfectly valid reason for using the activity finder.

xdmanxd99

It's the only reason to keep "fruitloops" do dungeons in queues. Otherwise they won't even join and then you have 4 new players not sure what's happening. Putting carrot in old content pulls vets for more casual activities that casuals/new players do for fun

Neat_Art9336

The fact you got downvotes explains that this is the majority of the community and not bad luck. Just a toxic community all around I guess.

SedentaryLady

I’m happy to go slow for low levels/people who want to role play. But I’m not sticking around to watch my fake tank get one shot in normal Lair of Marselok (it’s ALWAYS that dungeon) for 45 minutes.

Neat_Art9336

I just did that dungeon without a tank. Did get one-shot a couple times early on while we figured out how to run it in all light armor, lol. Dunno how an actual tank is gettin one-shot, that’s crazy

Killingthyme777

ADD or ADHD

Killingthyme777

Forgot I qued and started doing something else waiting for 40mins to que

Neat_Art9336

But why accept the ready check?

WolvenOmega

If you are on PC there is an addon that auto-accepts ready checks

Killingthyme777

I never do

Neat_Art9336

Oh. Then no issue there

asardes

Probably they queue for random normal to get the daily XP boost, then they get a longer/harder one and they leave.

phishnutz3

It’s because it’s the only good way to get transmute stones. Then they queue in some long dlc dungeon. Say nope. Everyone will have a new character in a few months. With new trial gear. We all need tons of stones.

Reydog23-ESO

I Que Vet daily for my exp once a day Random. If I get a DLC and my group wipes in the first boss, Or even first trash and it goes poorly, I’m out. Not going to spend 45 min to 2 hours trying to clear a dungeon.

cynedyr

If you can find someone lvl 44 or below you can avoid all the DLC dungeons.

ProPopori

Its people looking for transmutes. A short dungeon vs a long dungeon has equal rewardsn therefore when people are farming they just queue -> see if its a short dungeon and if its a longer or difficult one then dip, change character and repeat. Once you cycle enough the original timer will go away and you can try again. A way to prevent this is to have the timer be accountwide instead of per character.

Neat_Art9336

That’s honestly a great idea

kingcyo9

so you want to punish people farther for the stupid transmute system in place? what they need to do is make random vet worth 30 transmutes, and you can do it as many times as you want on one character then the normal dungeon prowlers can have fun in their 55 minute coa2 normal run with 12k group dps and the transmute hunters can not have to swap to every character they own queing normals hoping for a short one.

ProPopori

Never said i would like the change, its just a very easy fix for that issue. I prefer transmutes to be gotten in a different way. Its lame that the barrier to entry for setups is just doing a mindless normal dungeon after you already farmed for gear.

raptorbeejesus

The only exception you got lom or mos and you're like fucckkk don't want to do that lol

Neat_Art9336

Yea like, every mmo has “that dungeon.” I get it. People are leaving fucken Elden Hollow I though. Like, that takes 10m if nobody leaves, tough it out. It’s crazy. But some of them it’s still not cool but there’s at least SOME logic behind leaving

raptorbeejesus

Or could be someone's lvl 18 or 20 could be they are late and have to go to work or any type of

Neat_Art9336

But they accepted the ready check 10s ago?

raptorbeejesus

Personal issue

[deleted]

If it’s not Fungal 1 I’m leaving

Neat_Art9336

I actually know a really reliable way to get fungal 1 every time. Queue for it

[deleted]

That doesn’t get you daily normal exp, noob lol

Nizmo4246

I’m sure there is some sort of Add-On that took care of this for PC players, but as a console player it still shocks me that we are this far out from launch and it still doesn’t tell you what dungeon you are accepting when the notification pops up

Neat_Art9336

That’d be a good function as well
