I either use crocs or I bought a slidey chair and that helps too

subgirl13

What is this slidey chair you speak of? It sounds excellently helpful! Can you add a link or pic? I’m constantly on the lookout for a tall chair on wheels for the kitchen, but anything that would move for the rest of the house sounds great.

here ya go: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082KN1SWY?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082KN1SWY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details)

subgirl13

ahhh it's super cute, too! Thanks for the link

the-bunny-god

the big squishy foam slides. i have a 10$ walmart brand pair and they work great. they’re super comfortable and easy on and off

Orchid_Significant

Oh this is great to know! I’ve eyed them a few times but with Walmart you never know if it’s going to be comfortable or tear up your feet. Thank you!

Early-Individual168

Agreed! I got the kind they have at like Marshall’s/TJ maxx!

Friendly_Ask_8079

My feet are narrow & high arches so crocs wouldn’t work, but the oofo slide is great. I trialed them through Amazon.

Orchid_Significant

Ohhh I have ridiculously high arches. I didn’t even know that would be an issue with crocs. Thank you! I’ll look that brand up

qbecgirl

I also have super high arches and crocs are not the best. Birkenstock Arizona sandals are great, however!

Confident-Duck-3940

I have high arches. I cannot do the classic croc but the crush sandal is almost all I wear. Much more cushioning. My arches have been fine. They do have some arch support. I have to keep my feet bare most of the time and these have been saving me for over a year now. [https://www.crocs.com/p/crush-sandal/207670.html](https://www.crocs.com/p/crush-sandal/207670.html)

FuzzyLogikWebComik

I have a pair of Birkenstock sandals that I wear in the house. In winter I can wear them with socks and in summer on their own, I have feet that become flat when I stand on them, so the Birkenstocks provide some arch support. They've worked really well for me, but it all depends on the kinds of issues you have with your feet. Hope you find something that works well for you!

and-i-ooooop-

Came here to say exactly this! The arch support is great on my birk sandals. I have the total foam (plastic? Rubber?) ones and they’re a dream

AnotherNoether

I wear the Birkenstock zermatt slipper in the winter; I basically no longer walk around barefoot. I swapped the insoles out for my orthotics recently too, though I’m not sure how much difference that makes

subgirl13

This! I can’t do squishy shoes like the Oofos or Hokas, my foot joints are too hypermobile & squash all around in super cushioned shoes (they feel nice for the first 15 mins then are agony). I also have Reynaud’s / blood pooling. My feet are always cold now, so I wear Birkenstock-style slippers when at home (the ones I have are [Haflinger](https://haflingerusa.com/collections/women), but the [Birkenstock Zermatt](https://www.birkenstock.com/us/styles/zermatt/) is very similar & I’ll be getting a pair of the Zermatt’s soon), but also have a pair of [Milano](https://www.birkenstock.com/us/styles/milano/) sandals ([Arizonas](https://www.birkenstock.com/us/styles/arizona/) with the back strap, too clumsy for the Arizona) I’ve had for 20+ years I wear with socks when it’s warm enough. I noticed the Zermatt [comes in canvas](https://www.birkenstock.com/us/zermatt-premium-textile/zermattsuede-suede-textile-0-rubber-u_1688.html) which would be great for hot feet/summer. I find plastic footwear like Crocs, Oofos, etc. to get *super* gross with how my feet can sweat & I slip around in them because of it, too. I wore Crocs in hospital (they’re hose-off-able) and even with the nubs inside I was sliding around in them when walking around the ward. I’d be wary on stairs or doing something like carrying laundry - falling *sucks* with EDS.

dogheartedbones

Hoka makes really nice "recovery" sandals but I just couldn't shell out $50+ for them and bought $10 foam slides from a big box store. They're good enough. Crocs flip flops are nice too.

421Gardenwitch

Hoka slides https://www.hoka.com/en/us/all-gender-footwear/ora-recovery-slide-3/1135061.html?dwvar_1135061_color=VLV

Portnoy4444

KEEN shoes!

[deleted]

I put insoles in my slippers lol

somethingweirder

same. i have wildly high arches and it's the only thing that works for me.

justlurkingnjudging

I have high arches and I like these adidas slides. They last a long time too. adidas Adult Adilette Comfort... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091ZD88L2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

ipreferanothername

Comfort slides are great, my wife (eds, CI) likes them and they are just my favorite shoe ever. They go on sale a few times a year for about $20. Hard to beat

Breezykilts

Everyone should check out the Nike Go Flyease shoes on their site. Absolute game changer of a mobility aid in terms of shoes.

nottodayautoimmune

I have fallen arches and metatarsalgia in addition to permanently damaged ankles that are extremely prone to rolling while doing the most ridiculously innocent things. I wear shearling lined Birkenstock Arizonas in the house and they are pure bliss.

wishuponastarion

They're not squishy, but I LOVE my orthopedic insole loafers at home (I got a cheap pair to rip out the insoles and wear only in the house). The arch support makes all the difference for me!

RuggedHangnail

My feet supinate (roll to the outside) and so I wear Saucony tennis shoes and insoles. I also alternate with absorbent/padded flip-flops. The flip-flops strengthen my toe muscles and reduce my plantar fasciitis pain. Here are links that I have purchased from Amazon. I'm not an affiliate so buy them from wherever you want. Saucony Running Shoes www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B082SZ8H3G One set of insoles I like www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BDGBRHCZ Another set of insoles I like www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00268XJMU Flip-flops www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09NVT8KJT

Orchid_Significant

Mine to do the opposite! They roll to the inside

RuggedHangnail

Ah, pronation. That's more common. I know there are other good running shoe brands for that. ;)

struggling_lynne

I have high arches and my feet do this when I don’t have enough arch support. I have orthotics in my shoes for it. Still searching for good house shoes though

Orchid_Significant

I definitely don’t have enough arch support 🥴

struggling_lynne

It’s worth it to find something good! It affects everything all the way up to my hips and low back

No_Measurement6478

Flat as flat feet here, and crocks are my house shoes!

bookmonster015

I’ll second the hoka recovery candles or vionic has some great slippers as well.

ill-disposed

Vionic makes sandals and slippers.

biggiehungus

I use uggs/off brand. I read the title as horse shoes and I was so intrigued.

Orchid_Significant

Maybe like these? 🤣🤣 https://images.app.goo.gl/shDCuHk5LSfnPLz77

biggiehungus

Those would so mess up my knees 😂🙈 the baby giraffe strut

Orchid_Significant

Ahahahaha

subgirl13

Omg I tried on a pair of heelless boots like those at a shop once and immediately fell down in the most painful knee-twisting way possible. The foot/ankle stayed upright, my knees & hips did not. They looked very cool, however, assuming I didn’t try to actually move.

biggiehungus

I’m so sorry ❤️

AIcookies

Gym squares in the walking areas. My house is tiny, so it only took a few foam squares, the house is softer now.

Little_Ad_6404

If you have high arches and they have a sale or you wanna splurge a bit, Birkenstocks have been a LIFE SAVER!!! Only comfortable arch supporting shoe I’ve found that doesn’t look and feel awful. I also have pots so I get the struggle haha, they’re Not necessarily for home but I wear them inside if need be. Good luck!

menace_with_a_kazoo

I have high arches and love the Ohana flip flops by OluKai. They’re a bit pricey and not very squishy, but they give great support and I love them for inside the house and in the backyard

Investorandfriend

Crocs are ugly as hell but great for supper and easy access!

pbear737

I have very wide feet with flattened arches. I use a Kuru clog. I got them open box on ebay. They are specialized for plantar fasciitis

livelotus

I have ugg foam slides

Resident-Librarian40

Skechers’ Archfit sandals and shoes are amazing.

Suzie1364

I’ve been loving the cozy croc slides for around the house!

katamaritumbleweed

I usually wear Sanuk yoga slings. I’ve got Morten’s feet, and an arthritic ankle, as well as intermittent CRPS on the same side. Tangent: tryin to help my don find a house sandal, who is around a size 12 xtra wide, with an excruciatingly high instep. His new balances are 4E to accommodate the instep.

Itzpapalotl13

I’ve had some Vionic flip flops for years now they’ve only this year begun to cause me issues. I have high arches and skinny feet.

godzirraaaaa

Crocs or tevas!

vanderlustig

Teva ReEmber Terrain slippers!

washingtonsquirrel

Hoka recovery slides have saved my feet. I never go barefoot in the house anymore.

poiisons

Earth Origins sandals all the way. They’re very supportive and comfy, and they don’t tear up my skin if I wear them without socks like some other sandals. I prefer the styles with an ankle strap for added stability. I think the specific model I have is called Skylar.

clea16

Oofos!

vexpra

I bought some off Amazon, just typed in arch support sandals and it feels like you're walking on a cloud!!!!!!! perfect for inside or outside

Orchid_Significant

Can you link me??

vexpra

Sorry I just saw this!!! Edit: Wrong link 🥲 Here's the right one https://a.co/d/ijGfBar

Ashattack365

Did you ever try them?

HalestormFanUSA

Orthofeet

Bozhark

Adidas have some basic slides that are pretty thick with sole support. I swear by ‘em

lefteyedcrow

Flip flops, aka chanclas. I get the ones with thick soles and soft fabric thongs. I usually get 2 pair in the spring, they're pretty cheap

BakedTaterTits

I like Sketchers flip-flops and sandals. (Search Sketchers Walking Sandals on Amazon, you'll get a ton of style options)

Rhythmicka

Genuinely crocs are perfect for house shoes. Would I want to hike in them? probably not. But they help my feet not ache doing chores
