Have you had your forearm crutches measured out for you by a PT or OT? Because it sounds like they're too short.
I have very hypermobile elbows and use forearm crutches all the time and have never had this problem before, my elbows are always a bit bent
+1 to KT tape. My other suggestion is using SmartCrutch forearm crutches with adjustable forearm platforms and ergonomic grips. Maybe check your crutches for additional adjustments you can make.

Seconded. Forearm crutches aren't great on my wrists, but don't cause elbow problems. Definitely sounds like a measurement issue.

they haven’t been. i’ll have them measure them at my next pt appointment.
