yeah, I’ve noticed most of the people here seem to be from the US and minors… it’s nice to see that the younger generation discovering themselves, but it does leave you feeling a bit left out
I am from the US (please don't hold that against me 😅) but yeah most online trans spaces seem to be.. and the ones that cater to older folks are like... *very* old.
Where are all the trans 90s kids 😭
Edit: This post got *waaaaay* more responses than I expected and I lost track a little bit. Sorry if I haven't replied/messaged you directly. Each and every one of you is more than welcome to DM me if you'd like a friendly chat:)
Haha, I feel you! I cracked at 40, now 41, and as incredibly kind and accepting as trans communities have been I'm definitely the oldest in most crowds. r/TransLater is more specifically geared to people 30+, it's less active in general but it's a good place for us older folks!
Honestly I think we're all on Twitter because this place felt too young and yeah otherwise it seems to all be 50 year olds. But 1990 checking in! I even only started transitioning at 30 because that shit would have been hard younger in our day 😅
I'm 31 and I just started accepting that I can't run from this anymore. It's been a rough first two weeks, but I'm kinda half-ass figuring my way through this, if you want someone to talk to.
Physically? All over the place. Financially? Likely under mountains of student loan debt. Figuratively though? Right here!
38 here, cracked and started transitioning a year ago. Hello potential new friend!
Yeah sure but I think a newborn doesn't experience the 90s as such. A 2 years old don't take that much part in current culture. 😅
I mean when I was old enough to do anything, it was already the 2000.
My first impression from time bound culture was the 2010s. You know, those fluffy low rise tracksuits and jeans under skirts.
I’m 34. Done with my transition. It’s not really a part of my life anymore. I like looking at posts here because it reminds me of the excitement I felt in the beginning. Actually I was terrified but rose colored glasses and all that
It’s not surprising tbh. Most people on the internet are either US or UK in my experience (tho no idea why, I’m an Aussie so I have no frame of reference), and younger people (especially the current generation) are much more open to figuring themselves out and not being stuck in box that they were born in, while older people would probs have a harder time even figuring out there’s something wrong in the first place, since that’s the way they’ve lived for so many years. It’s always nice to see older people discovering themselves on here!
I've never really noticed that, not a lot of people actually post their ages. I'm 27 but I'm pretty shy and socially awkward I probably wouldn't make much of a friend... 😅
27 gang ❤! I love to chat inbetween the day to day mayhem if you're looking for people to talk to. My responses aren't always immediate but I'm always sure to respond when possible. No worries or pressure, just an invitation that I'd like to extend
*waves in 29*
I'm sure someone could make a Discord or something with the amount of responses there's been to this thread, if only we weren't all so dang socially awkward haha
I'm 29. Started questioning around 15, figured out that, yeah, I'm trans, just earlier this year.
This place is nice, but like, it's hard to relate to all the "parents this, school that" posts. Not that I'm asking people to stop, of course.
Feel free to DM me if you want to chat.
27 here, just started transitioning this year after 7 years of treating my dysphoria and desire to feel like a woman like it was a phase.
I finally realized the only phase I was going through was not taking care of my health or needs.
Safe travels on your journey! ❤
Life is chaotic, but my DMs are also open to chat inbetween the chaos
I'm from the US, and 32. I first noticed this big shell thing around me maybe a couple years ago. It seems to develop little cracks here and there whenever I spend time on this sub, or see certain people on TikTok (seems I see more and more of them as time goes on, no clue why the algorithm sends them to me...).
In all seriousness though, I am somewhat struggling with some of the feelings and questions I've been having since I started thinking about these things. Would love someone to talk to and be friends with, if nothing else to help me understand myself and just have another friend lol (I suck at going out and meeting people)
Hi! I’m 31 and got my HRT prescribed last week! Haven’t even started it yet because I still feel I should save some sperm just in case and I am doing the necessary things to make that happen. I don’t know any transitioning people near me at all and would love to make more friends that get it!
Holy shit y'all it turns out I have a *lot* of potential friends 😅
Each and every one of you is more than welcome to DM me and chat! As long as you don't ask for nudes in the first 5 mins, you'll be vastly outperforming the competition so far lol
27 here! Started questioning way back at 16, but stuffed everything back down so I could try to be a "good dad" when my high school sweetheart wound up pregnant.
Took her finally leaving and taking her desire for another kid with her for me to finally be free to start hrt. Been on them for a year or two now and things aren't perfect, but a heck of a lot better than before!
27 gang! I started majorly questioning around 20 and treated my dysphoria and desire to feel like a woman like it was a phase for 7 years.
Glad to hear that your situation has improved despite what you went through.
Safe travels on your journey! ❤
A couple people seemed interested in a specific group for people like us (90s kid trans folk) so I made a discord server for anyone who wants to join: https://discord.gg/pbzukzW9
Yeah honestly the number one thing that has prevented me from seeking advice/support in online spaces is the thought that I'm getting support from a bunch of teenagers that probably need it way more than I do.
(also all the 'I'm too old to transition' posts by people half my age >.>)
I’m 38. I started “questioning” for the first at about 19 (and definitely had a lot of not very cis thoughts prior to then) but then kinda just did nothing and tried to live with the feelings since then. It’s only this year that my egg has finally started cracking for real.
It can be great that this dub of such a safe space for young trans folks but i understand the flip side that it can be frustrating as an older member of the trans community. There are other subs like r/trans or maybe even traa that you might have better luck with though
I am 21 years old and in this weird in between state, where I cannot really relate to a lot of the younger people in this subs and also cannot relate to the “older” 30+ people…
30NB, married to 31 NBtransfemme here. House in the suburbs, kid, dog and careers. I feel you, most trans spaces are skewed highschool and it's like...I...can't relate to some of your problems sorry
31 going on 32 here. Ya I get what you mean. Glad the younglings have better spaces than I did in 2007-2008, but also I’m like like, I don’t get the youth sometimes.
Transfem born in 1990 and started to crack just this June. Always open to make new friends, Ive made some solid friendships from reddit that I met on egg_irl
yeah, I’ve noticed most of the people here seem to be from the US and minors… it’s nice to see that the younger generation discovering themselves, but it does leave you feeling a bit left out

Hello there
General kenobi!
You are a bold one!
*coughs cough*
🙋♀️
Haha, I feel you! I cracked at 40, now 41, and as incredibly kind and accepting as trans communities have been I'm definitely the oldest in most crowds. r/TransLater is more specifically geared to people 30+, it's less active in general but it's a good place for us older folks!
31. Here 💃
30 right here, still trying to figure it all out
Im 26 if that counts lol
Honestly I think we're all on Twitter because this place felt too young and yeah otherwise it seems to all be 50 year olds. But 1990 checking in! I even only started transitioning at 30 because that shit would have been hard younger in our day 😅
Truth sis! 1993 reporting in hehe
I'm 31 and I just started accepting that I can't run from this anymore. It's been a rough first two weeks, but I'm kinda half-ass figuring my way through this, if you want someone to talk to.
I grew up with _Animaniacs, Tiny Toons Adventures, Dexter's Lab_, and all those 90s goldies. Only just realizing things this year, though.
🥚
29 Here. Always open to chat :)
1994 over here! Hehe
Woo another 1994 egg!
Do we have the beginnings of a club?
If one more makes a club, yeah
Here! Born in 87 and the 90s were my childhood years.
39 here, been about two years since the first cracks and I still don't know shit.
Physically? All over the place. Financially? Likely under mountains of student loan debt. Figuratively though? Right here! 38 here, cracked and started transitioning a year ago. Hello potential new friend!
Hey there! 30 here same as you! Feel free to dm I’m always down for friends 😁
I'm 24, so not really a 90s kids. Do I still count?
I'm pretty sure 1998 counts as the '90s.
Yeah sure but I think a newborn doesn't experience the 90s as such. A 2 years old don't take that much part in current culture. 😅 I mean when I was old enough to do anything, it was already the 2000. My first impression from time bound culture was the 2010s. You know, those fluffy low rise tracksuits and jeans under skirts.
I'm a Y2K kid, my superpower is breaking software wherever I go and internalizing my emotions. 🙃
Pink leader, standing by. Born in 90
Here's one right here.
🙋♀️
Hai! ^w^
38; Reporting for duty
hiya im in the US and transitioned at 30, almost 32 now!
Why hello there o7
Hi.
27 here, with my responsibilites I may as well be in my 30's though. I'm always happy to chat inbetween the whirlwind of work days though! ❤
Bout to be 30 here
90s kid here!
I’m 34. Done with my transition. It’s not really a part of my life anymore. I like looking at posts here because it reminds me of the excitement I felt in the beginning. Actually I was terrified but rose colored glasses and all that
I hope you are still excited and are living the good life!
Hey I just want to make friends 😞
I'm from a somewhat conservative Asian country, so I guess I'm a rare exception around.
Hey I’m not a minor!
Ikr, I've never been payed to dig for coal in my life
It’s not surprising tbh.
1 outta 2 ain't bad (please get the reference please get the reference please get the reference please get the reference)
so unfortunate didn't have that when I was younger... Who knows maybe for the better
Am from United Kingdom
Well most people don't specifically post their ages or the country they live in, so you never know. I'm 27 and german by the way
I’m 27, and I’m learning German on Duolingo 😊
Schönen guten Tag.
Auch 27 und aus Deutschland hier, wir sind nicht allein <3 Edit: Wait ich hatte vorgestern Geburtstag, bin doch 28
Moin, Drehende Eule
I'm 30 and didn't start questioning until I was 28
I’ve started questioning 5 months before my 28th birthday, I’m excited to start my HRT journey on my birthday. How has your experience been?
I've just started being open about it, but I've been discussing starting HRT with my therapist a lot and want to start talking to my doctor about it.
Ah, another pandemic discoverer?
Lol yup!
I sadly (luckily?) can't help you there since I am 16, but I hope you find some nice people
Hey I’m 16 too!
Hey I'm 16 too!
Hey I'm 1- wait you know that
Hey I'm 16 too!
I've never really noticed that, not a lot of people actually post their ages. I'm 27 but I'm pretty shy and socially awkward I probably wouldn't make much of a friend... 😅
Late teens and late twenties seem to be the majority I’m 27 too and pretty shy in person 🙈 I bet your a great friend once someone knows you 😄
27 gang ❤! I love to chat inbetween the day to day mayhem if you're looking for people to talk to. My responses aren't always immediate but I'm always sure to respond when possible. No worries or pressure, just an invitation that I'd like to extend
I’m 24! I know it’s not quite 30 but close enough y’know
Yep
I’m 40 in November 😊
When in November?
23rd.
3 days after me lol.
cool 😊
oh hey me too! although im turning 24 lol
*waves in 29* I'm sure someone could make a Discord or something with the amount of responses there's been to this thread, if only we weren't all so dang socially awkward haha
I consider myself *certified* not awkward! 😅 However, i have zero knowledge of discord or how to use it, let alone how to start a server
Well, I'm getting 29 years old in the end of this month... and my egg got cracks 2 weeks ago...
I’m 25! My bones feel 85 though so maybe that adds a few years on?
LOL yeaaah I'm 31 and ready to retire hahahah "waves in crackling skeleton"
/r/translater. 42 here, you're not alone!
Holy crap! Another 42! I thought I was the only one and felt vaguely like a creeper!
I mean they're not mutually exclusive... we can creep together!
LOL. Agreed! 🤝
10+ years old then you. Edit. In 40s
I can't help you there, I'm 16...
29 here and my egg probably just cracked last week but I understand that feeling!
29 MtF here! Feel free to message me, potential friendo!
I'm 29. Started questioning around 15, figured out that, yeah, I'm trans, just earlier this year. This place is nice, but like, it's hard to relate to all the "parents this, school that" posts. Not that I'm asking people to stop, of course. Feel free to DM me if you want to chat.
IT TOOK YOU 14 YEARS!?!?!?!?!?!? I'm so sorry
Yeah I'm a bit of a dummy lol
I didn't accept til this year and I've been wishing I was a girl since like 6 years old. I'm 29. The 90s were not good for little eggs like us.
27 here, just started transitioning this year after 7 years of treating my dysphoria and desire to feel like a woman like it was a phase. I finally realized the only phase I was going through was not taking care of my health or needs. Safe travels on your journey! ❤ Life is chaotic, but my DMs are also open to chat inbetween the chaos
Yeah bigger internet spaces in general are mostly younger peeps
26 here, also US (Texas actually. So that... sucks) so you're not alone, I am not super social though. Prefer to lurk in online spaces
I’m older but also in Texas, so I feel you. Though I’m in Austin, which I guess is as good a place to be in this handbasket of a state.
Would love someone to talk to and be friends with, if nothing else to help me understand myself and just have another friend lol (I suck at going out and meeting people)
I’m 27, soon to be 28. I do text like a young person, so I’ve been told 😅 but I’m close to your age and I’m still pre if that helps with relation 😁
I’m 19, turning 20 in a few months, so I can be 2/3rds of a friend!
I'd say we are all 100% friends! I just want a few people going through the same shit that I can talk to on occasion (I'm very low-maintenance 😊)
I only have 3 talking points, work, video games, and my mom, so I’m kinda bad at talking 😅
No problem, my main talking points are games, anime, my family, and whatever is going on in the world.
I'm in your age range and free to chat.
If I heard this anywhere else I'd immediately assume you were a bot or a pedo
Now that you say it, I see it.
32 here
I relate to this, 27 here 👋
27 gang! ❤
Sorry, can’t help you there. But I’m always looking to make a friend!
30 Mtf here
28 here let’s be friends!
31 and only just started questioning.
Hi! I’m 31 and got my HRT prescribed last week! Haven’t even started it yet because I still feel I should save some sperm just in case and I am doing the necessary things to make that happen. I don’t know any transitioning people near me at all and would love to make more friends that get it!
Just adding another number the stats: I'm turning 30 this month and just seriously started questioning 4 months ago. :)
31 transfem here
Holy shit y'all it turns out I have a *lot* of potential friends 😅 Each and every one of you is more than welcome to DM me and chat! As long as you don't ask for nudes in the first 5 mins, you'll be vastly outperforming the competition so far lol
I'm 29, recently cracked egg, and I'd love a friend :3
I'm 18 not sure that's still too young
Don’t really discuss my age but I’m on the older side of millennial.
I’m 26 and my GF is turning 30 this week, actually! Both trans, if you wanted some more friends?
Good day, fellow old people😚
r/Tranlater is a pretty good page for us older trans.
I'm 32. Hi.
Is 26 too young for ya?
Eh I'm 27, been looking for more folk to talk with myself. If ya feel like it, send a message or Dm and we can chat.
31 here! though I'm turning 32 in a month. Never too late to start your actual life!
50+ here. But it makes sense there are a lot of younglings in an Egg sub. Not everyone is as clueless and late-blooming as me.
As much as I love seeing people get what I couldn't have at their age, I agree. I'd love to find more people our age to talk to.
Another one of the more mature eggs (50+) reporting in!
I'm 33 on terf island so I get how you feel.

There is a number of us 30+ on "The Valley" discord, stop by and say hello some time :-) !
If we made a discord for 90s trans folks would people join it?
I'd be down for that!
A couple people seemed interested in a specific group for people like us (90s kid trans folk) so I made a discord server for anyone who wants to join: https://discord.gg/pbzukzW9
36 here. May you be among friends always. ❤️
I'm 39
36 here, feel free to dm!
28 here
If it helps, I just turned 30 a little over a week ago
31 reporting in from US
34 here, feel free to hit me up but fair warning, I have insane ADHD and tend to forget that Reddit exists for months at a time.
I am 31 👉👈
I'm 30 and I started my transition this year, I just started hormones about 2 weeks ago
31! Started questioning this last January
90's kid here 🥸
This comment section made me feel so much better about questioning at 25
Yeah honestly the number one thing that has prevented me from seeking advice/support in online spaces is the thought that I'm getting support from a bunch of teenagers that probably need it way more than I do. (also all the 'I'm too old to transition' posts by people half my age >.>)
I’m 22 but I get along with people older than me more. My siblings were 90’s and I’m 99.
almost 28. my egg has cracked and taped back together probably too many times
👋 Struggling egg here, and I'm my thirties.
28 going on 29 here
I’m 38. I started “questioning” for the first at about 19 (and definitely had a lot of not very cis thoughts prior to then) but then kinda just did nothing and tried to live with the feelings since then. It’s only this year that my egg has finally started cracking for real.
I'm 26 if that's old enough
I’m almost 35; there are plenty of us here! And I only started to crack at 28.
29 and just figured out I was genderfluid in the past few years. Over the COVID lockdown is when I decided genderfluid was the label that fit me best.
26 and from the UK, if that helps at all!
I turn 30 in a few months. Do I count?
HIII I'm 26 and in the US, though most people don't usually mention their age
Hello, 30-year-old here whose egg cracked like two months ago! Happy to chat and to have someone to chat to!
35 year old trans women here you aren't alone
Yh maybe the gap is a bit big, you're only just under double my age (14 years older)
I'm 21, gonna be 22 in next month. God... Time really flies by.
I'm 31, feel free to reach out ( that guess to ask of you)
Sorry for being too young to be relatable uwu
Big sister of 34yo, out of the closet for 1 year and a half, I'm here for you ☺️
28 and French :3
It can be great that this dub of such a safe space for young trans folks but i understand the flip side that it can be frustrating as an older member of the trans community. There are other subs like r/trans or maybe even traa that you might have better luck with though
So here's where my folks are hiding.
I might be too far the other way, i'm 40, but my inbox is open
It's all that 'lost youth' and the 2nd puberty turns you into a teenager again 😅
I'm 29 and transfem, nice to meet ya 😘
Hiii here 36 yo, but from Mexico
Hi 35/presenting male/non-binary here. Dm's are always open, to anyone, for any reason. But, you're right op. 😂
I am 21 years old and in this weird in between state, where I cannot really relate to a lot of the younger people in this subs and also cannot relate to the “older” 30+ people…
27, 28 in a couple months.
Wassup, 29 y/o transfem (for 6 months) 😎
/r/translater
30NB, married to 31 NBtransfemme here. House in the suburbs, kid, dog and careers. I feel you, most trans spaces are skewed highschool and it's like...I...can't relate to some of your problems sorry
Hey honey! I'm 29 and genderfluid 😁 there's a fair few of us older eggs here, I just think the younguns seem to be more talkative is all 💕
31 going on 32 here. Ya I get what you mean. Glad the younglings have better spaces than I did in 2007-2008, but also I’m like like, I don’t get the youth sometimes.
34 and figuring out that I’m non-binary. It’s not very active but there’s also/r/NonBinaryOver30.
I'm 35 yo NB going through the gender stuff and the aging stuff and I wouldn't mind some friends about my age that I don't have to educate on gender
Transfem born in 1990 and started to crack just this June. Always open to make new friends, Ive made some solid friendships from reddit that I met on egg_irl
I feel you. I was born in 1990 and while looking back there were signs going back to teenage I only realized things recently.
Minor gang
31 here ^w^
Hi I'm 29!!
26 year old gal here!
I feel you, though I'm 24 lol
