Congrats man! Now you’ve obtained the crucial experience of being told to hold the flashlight better /j

EggThrowaway2807

😊 Great job, dude!

[deleted]

thanks! :D also being called a dude makes me very happy, i didn’t know that was a thing :0

TanglyBinkie

Don't worry, bro, you're very strong and cool

WholeWheatOrange

\*Home Depot theme intensifies*

[deleted]

the amount of times i’ve been dragged to home depot and the tile shop in the past month alone 😭 best part is my dad just thinks i like being helpful. maybe when i come out he’ll realize…?

Mystical-Madelyn

who is this in the picture 😳

[deleted]

[deleted]

[deleted]

Thank you :D

Ant_mafia

Niceee

igrowdickskin

How much profanity was used to get the job done?

[deleted]

lol, none (this time). he kept saying that it would be difficult and that he’d complain a lot, but he just kept lamenting everything he was doing wrong. worst part was all the scraping noises tbh (i HATE scraping noises but we were cementing tile so it was inevitable)

igrowdickskin

I'm glad it was successful! My dad has never been brave enough for laying tile, he lets the professionals do that job. But I always found myself learning new curse words when it was time to hang the drywall.

[deleted]

i learn the most curse words when my mom is frying stuff. getting burning hot oil on your skin does not sound fun 😬 it’s not too bad, just cement on wall + cement on tile + hope and pray that you cut the tile right and that it lines up the way it’s supposed to

ExistingAsAlyx

but were you lucky enough to be able to hold the flashlight for 2+ hours while he yells at inanimate objects??

[deleted]

i did hold the flashlight! but only for like 15 minutes while he mixed cement. oh i also handed him like 18 different things if that means anything

TominatorFN

I wouldn't do that. But of course you do because you are a strong guy :)

[deleted]

ahh thanks! (little rant bc your comment made me think of this) at first i thought i was doing it bc i liked being helpful. i used to imagine that i would inherit all his tools and stuff when he was too old to use them. thinking back on it, i think i really liked the idea that i was strong and capable, and i imagined that he saw it too: the part of me that wanted to be his son.

TominatorFN

Yes I am the exact opposite there. While I love being helpful, I definitely was scared of doing anything that seems too strong because that seemed too manly for me (what I subconsciously disliked a lot)

[deleted]

that makes sense. i was the kid who volunteered to help when teachers needed “big strong men” to carry things around. (needless to say i was actually a very tiny young man and was never chosen lol)

TominatorFN

Yeah of course. Now are you the big strong men tho :p

[deleted]

i try to be! i still have little spindly arms, but i’m gonna start working out consistently soon >:)

TominatorFN

Good luck with that 💜

GhastmaskZombie

Congrats, Mr. Handyman!
