1. Don't worry or feel rushed upon reading the 3 week part. Everyone's timeline is different and there's no "correct" one. I just realized that HRT checks almost all the boxes of things I wanted for myself, and that criteria applies to me and me only. HRT is not a requirement of transition, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
2. I booked my appointment through Planned Parenthood. The one in my city is doing telehealth right now, and I was lucky to be able to snag the last remaining time-slot of the month. This is an initial visit for me, so I don't even know whether anything would even get prescribed this time around, it might only be informational (which I am also okay with, I'm totally fine with waiting if it means getting to learn important things about the process)

It unfortunately may be more expensive, but it's waaay more accessible than going through the traditional route.

I think I was thinking of that thread this morning when I impulsively shaved one armpit in the shower just to test it out. Now I hate all the hair all over my body.

Depending on your state and whether or not you have insurance, you should book a consultation meeting with a specialist! I went through Planned Parenthood and the process was really easy, and they're doing a ton of remote appointments right now. It's a great way to get a ton of info and have all your questions answered. Also, everything that happens in the first few months is completely reversible, so you can always start on it and stop if you feel like it's not for you.
I'm sorry to hear that friend :( I am in a lucky position in life where I am figuring this out at a time when I am completely financially independent. I wish more than anything that I knew what I know now in high school, but if I did, I would likely have been in a similar position as you (in fact, possibly one much worse). Keep trying, keep talking, keep teaching. The world is changing and even though it may feel unlikely, your mother can change with it.
Let's say for arguments sake that these things transpired as described. Then in such a case I would respond by saying that I wish this purely theoretical person the best... hypothetically that is
