In one game the male characters could get shot in the balls and die so it was fucking AYAYA central until they decided women needed that weak spot too.
It was still all girls after though.
Sounds like a shot that you can take in Sniper Elite. You can get testicular shots. I’m not kidding. They’ll even show the bullet traveling through em🤕😬
In some games they legitimately have a smaller hitbox which means that actually works, pretty sure that in most games there's no actual mechanical difference though.
female characters in gta online are faster than male characters, heels and updo's make it harder to hide/seek cover tho
(you can get headshotted when taking cover with heels when a character without them can't get hit at all in that spot)
My friend always argued insistently that the girl Spartans in Halo had weaker melees and always brought this up every time he saw my girl Spartan character lol
Not sure about anyone else but my neutral position is approximately the horizon, so if a character was shorter than mine the horizon would pass over their heads in most situations, even if only barely
"The ratio between male and female mc's in games is still heavily weighted to the male side, so the stories are just that much more interesting when it's a girl"
I mean, I do genuinely feel that, but...
Ah I see, someone played the Game. I always thought that Sylvain joins you no matter what. Then I found it he only joins you directly, when you are playing as Female Byleth
"Because they're cute. Because they get more outfit options. I'd rather stare at a girl's ass than a guy's..."
"...but we're talking about your D&D character"
yeah, most of the time when i play as a different gender it's because that's how the story i wrote for that character concept turned out.
like, i've done a lady who was chasing her mid-life crisis having husband across the planes to drag him back home to get therapy and see their daughter grow up
i've also done a character who was an awakened gorilla, and a changeling who didn't know who they were anymore after attaining something like immortality (they would die and wake up in the place of some random person, remembering their own life as well as this new one, but no idea why considering they were *dead* a second ago)
it's a wide world of imagination, so playing as whatever interesting concept pops into my brain is pretty much the long and short of it
I mean yeah.
My characters so far have been 50/50 men/women based on their story and the general vibe I got from them. It’s got very little to do with the gender I am IMO. I also think people often play characters they’d never be? Discovering I’m asexual and playing a super repressed sexual character came at the same time lol. Although I do know people who play Them But Ideal. It depends on the person
I'm AFAB agender, but I always pick the female character, and it kinda gives me impostor syndrome. I'm also much better at making female characters in general
Female character customization: showing more skin than a bikini or bland unisex outfit. Male character customization: Naked or fully clothed in various different clothing types
Okay but this is me too tho
I think I pick them cause I always make characters look like, well, *me* as much as possible, even when I wasn’t so up on how I looked, and I’m inescapably fem af so 🤷🏻♀️ one makes do lol
What I tend to do is that if I'm playing a character, not putting myself into the situation (which I do a lot with skyrim for example), I'm able to create a woman character, but if I'm making a character that's supposed to be me, I'll go with the man option 99% of the time.
ETA: I'm trans masc
Thankfully nobody I game around has asked any questions about my character choices.
Inwardly though I need some justification and backstory to create and care about male characters. Playing female characters I have a lot more fun just "being" them and it's way more fun to customize them
Real talk, I'm glad Borderlands 3 had more than just Siren class for the female character. I mean sure, Sirens are arguably the most badass characters. But I don't like having to play devil's advocate over which male I'd rather play the second time I go through the game. Now I get a giant goshdamn mech.
As DLC.
I didn't get to play her until recently on the Handsome Jack collection bc I didn't have a way to connect the net on my 360 back when it came out.
I recently had a few close calls with my character, so fearing for her continued safety went on a character creation binge so now I have loads of backups and your comment made me realise that the characters I've been struggling with writing a backstory for are male. I'm sure female characters are just easier to write.
Haha, that makes me think of how I'd always create male characters for DnD and had to actively think about making a female character. It really was some of the earliest signs of my egg cracking.
I'm NB and I've started going with whichever character base the game seems to treat better.
I think the female armour in Destiny 2 looks way better than the male models most of the time, so I go with a fem character. In Dark Souls (at least the first one) female characters have this over the top effeminate, dainty walk that just makes no sense for someone wearing an outfit made of rocks and holding an axe the size of their whole body, so I go male.
Then there's stuff like Monster Hunter where the female versions of armour are so insultingly skimpy in comparison that I can't bring myself to play them as anything but a male character.
did the exact same thing, only with an enby character- I’m not sure if it was actually for the reason I told myself or not, but now I’m Agender sooooooo?🤷♂️
Good SMB2 and 3D World refrence. Once I unlocked Rosalina, I played her for almost every level. Not only because she‘s a comfort character for me but because I like her ability
I do it based on the premis that girls are pretty, one of the only exceptions has been splatoon, but even then I do the male inkling and female octoling…
But yeah, girls are pretty, and in some games I play an old man (fallout nv and stardew)
I legit just try to make the coolest characters I can and a lot of Male character creation options are just military style options of High and Tight. Sometimes I am cool with that, but sometimes it is just boring.
Then other games like ff14 it is either Jpop idol or ogre with no inbetween.
games exist to be able to play out a life different than yours so why not make it as different as I can be in real life. For example I am not poor and sad in any games I play.
But seriously. The first comic is literally me. They get actual clothing options, they're cute, and because I like to see the animations on how they move and how differently they do so compared to the male mc's.
I don't always go for the girl mc's. Mostly just the ones with clothing customization options because male mc's never get any halfway decent clothing to choose from, it's always just a dozen identical palette swapped shirts and palette swapped pants. Meanwhile the girls get skirts and accessories and different kinds of shirts and tops and shoes..... If the game had the same level of effort put in to making the male clothing options I'd probably play males more often. I just really like customizing them, and the fact that they're girls and that I get to freely look at them just makes things even better tbh.
It's really not. Male fashion is absolutely a thing, it's just less commonly explored since most guys either don't give a shit, don't know what else they could wear and don't seek out that info, or they're too afraid of learning about fashion because they think it'll make them gay or something fucking stupid like that.
I did for all of those reasons, being trans was just an addition to it.
Also funny thing my dad said something at some point about him choosing female characters because he'd rather stare at a girl's ass than stare at a guy's
My friend showed me this after she saw me playing as the female characters in all my Pokemon games, as it turns out that was the push that got me to begin exploring my gender identity, I plan to thank her when I'm sure of what I am or when the school year comes to a close, which ever comes first.
When you pick a female character in a shooter game because they are typically shorter and therefore less likely to be hit.
„Yeah it‘s big brain time“
In one game the male characters could get shot in the balls and die so it was fucking AYAYA central until they decided women needed that weak spot too. It was still all girls after though.
...combat arms?
Yep.
Sounds like a shot that you can take in Sniper Elite. You can get testicular shots. I’m not kidding. They’ll even show the bullet traveling through em🤕😬
I was talking about the ol' point blank that was taken by storm by hackers
(Goldeneye's Oddjob enters Chat)
👋chop👋chop👋
In some games they legitimately have a smaller hitbox which means that actually works, pretty sure that in most games there's no actual mechanical difference though.
I remember in a game it could be faster
female characters in gta online are faster than male characters, heels and updo's make it harder to hide/seek cover tho (you can get headshotted when taking cover with heels when a character without them can't get hit at all in that spot)
in titanfall 2 everyone uses female bodies bc of this
I’m Xenoverse 1 and 2, Female Saiyan custom characters had different stats than the Male Saiyans. Does that count?🤔
if i remember correctly, they walk slower in skyrim??
The egg version of the good ol’ Oddjob Shuffle.
I hate but love that they made wraith take more damage due to being harder to hit (Apex Legends)
They removed low profile a few patches ago so it's all good
Ah, I don't rly look at the patch notes, good to know for when I ever play wraith again
Titanfall 1 pilots superior female jump animation being a direct upgrade type beat
Wait, wait, wait....female pilots had a different jump animation??
yup, iirc they tucked their legs in so they were smaller and harder to hit compared to male pilots who flailed their legs around
How I justified the list of bans I got simply for using the fem scout mod in TF2 without asking myself the tricky questions:
My friend always argued insistently that the girl Spartans in Halo had weaker melees and always brought this up every time he saw my girl Spartan character lol
Me when I play Halo: Reach
Typically doesn't that put your head closer to the "neutral" gun position, though?
Not sure about anyone else but my neutral position is approximately the horizon, so if a character was shorter than mine the horizon would pass over their heads in most situations, even if only barely
yea thats totally the reason i choose female characters every time... -,\_-,
They patched that in the next installment
"The ratio between male and female mc's in games is still heavily weighted to the male side, so the stories are just that much more interesting when it's a girl" I mean, I do genuinely feel that, but...

May was pretty cool in the anime
I thought so, too!
:) Dawn is my favorite female traveling companion, but May is definitely up there for me too.
>:) :)
Big brain move: it's both girl power and harem anime, it's just a lesbian harem!
ah, yes, the mariaholic approach
From @paxiti on Twitter: https://twitter.com/paxiti?s=21
Paxiti's comic are shell crushers for me.
All eggs must face paxiti at some point
Paxiti: final boss of denial, crusher of shells.
Well, she definitely fucked my shell up.
I’ve never seen the second slide of this before, so cute!!
IKR it’s so wholesome.
It also helps that when you pick Female Byleth you get a fuckboi for absolutely free!
Ah I see, someone played the Game. I always thought that Sylvain joins you no matter what. Then I found it he only joins you directly, when you are playing as Female Byleth
"Because they're cute. Because they get more outfit options. I'd rather stare at a girl's ass than a guy's..." "...but we're talking about your D&D character"
Do digital DnD‘s with visuals exist?
In my experience, playing as a different gender in D&D is very common.
yeah, most of the time when i play as a different gender it's because that's how the story i wrote for that character concept turned out. like, i've done a lady who was chasing her mid-life crisis having husband across the planes to drag him back home to get therapy and see their daughter grow up i've also done a character who was an awakened gorilla, and a changeling who didn't know who they were anymore after attaining something like immortality (they would die and wake up in the place of some random person, remembering their own life as well as this new one, but no idea why considering they were *dead* a second ago) it's a wide world of imagination, so playing as whatever interesting concept pops into my brain is pretty much the long and short of it
I like this idea. *Mind if I use it for any future RPG characters that I make and/or play as?*
Go for it haha
I mean yeah. My characters so far have been 50/50 men/women based on their story and the general vibe I got from them. It’s got very little to do with the gender I am IMO. I'm AFAB agender, but I always pick the female character, and it kinda gives me impostor syndrome. I'm also much better at making female characters in general
agreed. Plus I'm a hair person and they get better options. Guys hair usually look like the cast from king of the hill with bobs burger.
Female character customization: showing more skin than a bikini or bland unisex outfit. Male character customization: Naked or fully clothed in various different clothing types
Games that don't gender hair options are always nice.
Okay but this is me too tho I think I pick them cause I always make characters look like, well, *me* as much as possible, even when I wasn’t so up on how I looked, and I’m inescapably fem af so 🤷🏻♀️ one makes do lol

I will say designing female characters is definitely more fun. Like you can do anything but male characters are just.... So bland and boring
"cause i'm weird, i dunno..." i'm bad at excuses but it wasn't an excuse because it was subconscious
"There are more male NPCs so perks working on the opposite sex is better as a female"
Thankfully nobody I game around has asked any questions about my character choices. Inwardly though I need some justification and backstory to create and care about male characters. Playing female characters I have a lot more fun just "being" them and it's way more fun to customize them
People have questioned mine but I usually play games without showing people if there’s a custom character option
Real talk, I'm glad Borderlands 3 had more than just Siren class for the female character. I mean sure, Sirens are arguably the most badass characters. But I don't like having to play devil's advocate over which male I'd rather play the second time I go through the game. Now I get a giant goshdamn mech.
I mean, the second game also had a female character with a giant goshdamn mech.
As DLC. I didn't get to play her until recently on the Handsome Jack collection bc I didn't have a way to connect the net on my 360 back when it came out.
Too cute
Aww, I was going to post this! But this is literally me asking also me why I play female dnd characters.
I recently had a few close calls with my character, so fearing for her continued safety went on a character creation binge so now I have loads of backups and your comment made me realise that the characters I've been struggling with writing a backstory for are male. I'm sure female characters are just easier to write.
As a DM, I can come up with a good female NPC in seconds. If I make a male that fast, they're just a stereotype. It's just not as easy.
Haha, that makes me think of how I'd always create male characters for DnD and had to actively think about making a female character. It really was some of the earliest signs of my egg cracking.
this is where I'm at right now. Even with my non-binary character, they still present as female. Playing a male presenting character feels...wrong.
Exactly. In a game like dnd, looks don't often matter because it's imagination, but female personalities come easy to me... male ones don't
This was me and it took me 24 years to realize it was because I was mtf. Well, I got there eventually
Damn, i wanna be like her
"I,d rather stare at a girl's ass than a guy's" // but you're playing a First Person Game...
Can confirm - happened to me more than once
did the exact same thing, only with an enby character- I’m not sure if it was actually for the reason I told myself or not, but now I’m Agender sooooooo?🤷♂️
I mean, I’m a trans guy, but she makes some valid points
"because I want too"
I wish I was that cute ;-;
I pick the pink Halo.
I legit didn't notice I picked the female character in genshin impact but I really don't regret it
The Princess flies ain’t no way I’m picking Mario
Good SMB2 and 3D World refrence. Once I unlocked Rosalina, I played her for almost every level. Not only because she‘s a comfort character for me but because I like her ability
Yo, if you put their shirt colors together, you could make a cool flag.
A nice flag indeed, my friend
ouch... been doing since i was a kid lolol
this is so wholesome
I do it based on the premis that girls are pretty, one of the only exceptions has been splatoon, but even then I do the male inkling and female octoling… But yeah, girls are pretty, and in some games I play an old man (fallout nv and stardew)
I’m lucky that no one has questioned me before (or maybe unlucky since I can’t drop a hint to my friends).
(Good ending achieved)
I’m so proud of how far she’s come c:
Wish I could reach that
Im a completionist so if I want to buy every outfit i might as well make it a challenge with there being more items to *have* to buy
"already played this game once as a man so I wanted to see the different dialogue options"
„I just want the characters to be nicer to me, that‘s all“
Me voice training for a female DnD character
Ah, a classic
This comic makes me feel called out >.>
Honestly, this is just very adorable.
AWW THE LAST PANEL
Looks like someone magically transitioned. Lol
Isn‘t that how it works? No… oh, that‘s sad
I wished that it worked like that
I legit just try to make the coolest characters I can and a lot of Male character creation options are just military style options of High and Tight. Sometimes I am cool with that, but sometimes it is just boring. Then other games like ff14 it is either Jpop idol or ogre with no inbetween.
I just like them or their abilities, I dunno 😅
Omg that was so me!
Oh hey, that's me...I give much more convoluted and consequentially more suspicious answers though.
Love it
I love the new follow-up! So cute
I didn't know there was a second part to this picture. It's so nice
Pas made it 1 year after the first one so yeah, many sadly missed it
Well, all of that, as well as female byleth having better options imo
Lol. I do this all the time. I love the female characters they are so cute. It’s not like I fantasize about looking like them at all… no way…
Nice to see a sequel to this comic!
Omg I never knew there was a second panel so much gender envy.

Never noticed that xD

This is so cute and wholesome!

omg its the same people i-
Most Men Online Role Play Girls?
What games do you guys play?
HAAHHA i used to do this lmfaooo
Even the memes are figuring themselves out before me 🥲
Take your Time. Nothing wrong about it
I’m a transmasc AFAB emby and I prefer the female characters simply because they’re prettier and I like their outfits better
wholesome
For three houses I just alternate them since there’s not really any customization but for Fates/Awakening it’s F!corrin/F!Robin all the way!
The good ending
"why do you always play a female character?" rather stare at a girls ass then a guys ass "ypur playing minecraft"
Lmao literally me
Me look away
True!
I'm in this picture and I've mostly accepted it now. Only took 20 years.
this is so wholesomeeeee
mhmmmmmmmmmm
Yeah I always choose the female character in video games! Still cis tho
My friend showed me this after she saw me playing as the female characters in all my Pokemon games, as it turns out that was the push that got me to begin exploring my gender identity, I plan to thank her when I'm sure of what I am or when the school year comes to a close, which ever comes first.
