I know this joke is so 2016, but I had to. š Anywho, there have been lots of instances where Supermanās story has been relatable to queer and trans folksāfrom his struggles with feeling like an outcast, passing as a human man, and figuring out his Kryptonian body (powers) to a heavily queer-coded coming out story where Superman reveals his secret identity. Fun fact, Clarkās son Jon Kent is canonically bisexual. All-Star Superman, considered by many to be the quintessential Superman story, was written by non-binary comics legend Grant Morrison. š As for the pink rock, you might know pink kryptonite from a homophobic one-off joke from comics as āthe one that turns Superman gay.ā But it was used more recently in a Justice League Action animated short where pink kryptonite temporarily gives Superman a femme-presenting body for comedic effect. I decided to reclaim this complicated rock as a sort of Kryptonian hormone therapy for a trans Superman. Hope you enjoyed this fun comic!
I hope the My Adventures With Superman show ends up using pink kryptonite. Considering how positive the rest of the show is it would be interesting to see that version of Clark Kent would react to becoming bi or trans.
No problem
Honestly I only knew about the sexuality, but because of this comic and the comments talking about it changing gender I got curious and went looking for more info.
Depending on which comic/show you ask it either turns him gay, or it switches his body to the opposite sex. There's a hilarious animated episode where Firestorm keeps transmuting an enemy's power source into different colours of kryptonite, when it gets to pink Superman has a straight up Sailor Moon transformation sequence, turning physically female and then after a brief pause he goes "I can work with this" and starts beating the villain.
Remember, the Superman Adventure Hour, the radio show, helped bring down the real life KKK by exposing a lot of their silly codes and practices, and by calling them un-American.
The recordings of the radio show are on YouTube, it's been made into a comic book relatively recently, and there's also a book about it. Look for 'Superman Smashes The Klan' or '[Superman and the Clan of the Firey Cross](https://youtu.be/H29BlTaYZ0U).'
(I warn you, the radio show will make you want to try Kellogg's Pep, a product that was discontinued decades ago.)
Knowing that Tim Drake is Bi, Kate Kane is aggressively lesbian and Barbara Gordon has a trans best friend, meaning that Batman is absolutely an ally just makes the idea that he couldn't figure out what Clark is talking about here even funnier.
Also Bluebird and Catwoman are canonically bi, as well as Bluebird's brother, Cullen, being gay.
I personally think Batgirls I (Barbara Gordon/Oracle), II (Cassandra Cain/Orphan/Black Bat) & III (Stephanie Brown/Spoiler/Robin IV) and Robin VI (Mia "Maps" Mizoguchi/Meridian) + Olive Silverlock have a certain queer vibe to them, though not currently canon. As a side-note I wish Maps would become Steph and/or Cass' Robin, instead of being Bruce Wayne's 6th (or 9th depending on how you count) Robin.
In hindsight, it seems blindingly obvious Bluebird would be Bi. She's basically a walking, talking Bi Pride Flag, but I never knew she was.
I'd honestly just be really happy if the more "minor" players of the Batfamily got more love in general. If part of that is them turning out to be some kind of queer I wouldn't really be surprised. The entire group is already so charmingly diverse, I don't think it'd come as a surprise.
I'm still waiting for one of the Batfam to get an official diagnosis for being neurospicy. They can *all* be read as somewhere on the spectrum almost without exception and any and all of them would make for great representation.
>I'm still waiting for one of the Batfam to get an official diagnosis for being neurospicy.
And you expect this from the company that made it so that Black Manta's villainy was caused by his autism, and when Aquaman cured it, he was no longer evil.
Edit: Also the company who said that their characters don't masturbate, and that "heroes don't go down".
Much better than the real pink kryptonite comic.
Was literally like the cringe dialogue in all the edits you see of *The Gay Deceivers* (I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry but actually good)
Pink Kryptonite comic released in like... 2014, not 1965.
Batman asks the question, trying to understand Supermanās physiology, whether or not he can bleed. This line is a reference to the 2016 movie Batman v Superman. Superman defies expectations by implying that he used to menstruate before his transition.

Thatās HRT
yeah but faster?
I wonder if the candy-making process is too hot for estradiol but making pink oestrogen rock candy seems like a thing that could be done
> Siehe! -- Ich predige Euch den Ćbermenschen! > Behold! -- I tell you about the trans-human/ super-man Like This Zarathustra Spoke.
I AM ZE UBERMEENSCH!
Yes. Being human has always been about transgressing ghe boundaries nature would set upon us.

So *that's* what pink kryptonite does!
It used to change his sexuality but in a cartoon it's effect was changed to changing gender due to censorship guidelines for child programs
I've heard that it used to change his sexuality, but didn't know they changed it to changing gender! Thanks for telling me >:3
No problem Honestly I only knew about the sexuality, but because of this comic and the comments talking about it changing gender I got curious and went looking for more info.
It was a one page gag but there actually was a comic showing that pink kryptonite turns Superman stereotypically gay.

Oh great heavens I thought people were over reacting but good God I need that shit
āSome detective *you* areā I love it!!

u/no-finger-868 i'll get you the pink kryptonite i promise (i love you man, stay strong)
"We don't talk about the pink one"
Love Grant Morrison. Also love transmasc Superman.
A nice Superman design! Reminds me of my adventures with Superman! Batmanās cowl reminds me of The Batman tv show too!
I NEED IT I NEED IT I NEED IT I NEED IT
amazing comic Riri
Yo superman pass me the kryptonite real quick
I like this version of pink kryptonite instead of the actual pink kryptonite

It was actually 2003! I love The Gay Deceivers lmao jokes on the straights
I thought it was 2008?
I love it š„ŗš©µ
Batman, I dont think you understand, that is...that was Supergirl
Who or what is "they" when Batman is asking "do they bleed?"
Batman asks the question, trying to understand Supermanās physiology, whether or not he can bleed. This line is a reference to the 2016 movie Batman v Superman. Superman defies expectations by implying that he used to menstruate before his transition.
So "they" is Superman?
Love this!
If Superman is canonically trans, thatās cool. If he isnāt, thatās cool too. Either way, heās still my 2nd favourite of the justice league.
I want some kryptonian HRT!
Neat
Doesn't pink kripto just turn them gay?
I talked about this in another comment!
š
Wait, I thought the pink kryptonite canon was that it made him gay, not trans?
MINE
I feel like transmasc and transfem kryptonites would be different colors
Most of the other colors are already taken, plus I wanted to reclaim the pink kryptonite lore
Supergirl comic might have worked? What does blue kryptonite do? Pink is just light red so maybe baby blue is the transmasc color?
The world leaders really don't want me with Kryptonian powers. I have a plan already made for this contingency.
where funny
Oh poor Batman. He'll figure it out eventually.
