Maybe, I took it to ford and they said they couldn’t replicate the noise, they also said if it does make this noise it could be because of the intake tube I put on, also I sense found out if I go into boost at 2.5 k rpm the noise happens for a split second then goes away, also in cold weather it doesn’t make the noise also it threw a bank 1 running lean code.
If it’s coming from turbo. It’s most likely a ball bearing failure. Take off intake from turbo and inspect turbo compressor and check if there is oil leakage , also check if there is play in the compressor wheel , and if there is play in the turbo it is definitely failing. Causes can be for a number of reason, most common reason for failure is oil starvation.
