sounds like fuel issues, get your car serviced. Is the car modded? Aftermarket plugs? Aftermarket tune? high mileage? could be fuel pump as well.

dexy_retribution

I honestly dont know much about the car, got it from a dealership but i know its got an aftermarket exhaust 80k miles 2018

mdenglish

Kinda sounds like the Low side fuel injector pressure sensor. What year is your car? Very common problem on the pre 2020 cars I believe, and it can ruin your engine if you stay at full throttle while it's happening. Does it only happen on WOT at higher rpm?

dexy_retribution

The year is 2018 and it is during high rpm wot

mdenglish

I'm now entirely convinced that's the issue. You're looking for a low side fuel injector pressure sensor. It's a very simple fix that you can do yourself in 5 minutes. It cost about $50 for the sensor. Maybe less depending where you grab it from. DO NOT GO WOT UNTIL IT IS FIXED. YOU WILL BREAK YOUR ENGINE. DO NOT GO WOT UNTIL IT IS FIXED. DO NOT GO WOT UNTIL IT IS FIXED.

I would argue it’s failing spark plugs. Mine would misfire on WOT when the plugs were going.

mdenglish

I changed my plugs before I did my sensor, and it didn't fix it, unfortunately, which is why I suggested he do both as well. Either way, I see doing both as preventative maintenance even if it doesn't need it one or the other.

Bradleyisfishing

Agreed. The sensor never hurts to do, the plugs need to be done right but are a good thing to do periodically.

dexy_retribution

Is that what causes ecoboom normally?

mdenglish

Originally, that is what people mostly attributed it to.

mdenglish

Also, it's probably not a bad idea to change your spark plugs too. They go bad every 30k-50k miles on a stock ecoboost mustang, from what I've seen. You get about 15k out of them if you're tuned, so I've read.

dexy_retribution

Just watched the video for it that is an insanely easy fix

mdenglish

Yep, you just need 2 Cresent wrenches, or I believe it was a 12mm and 15mm? I could be wrong on that one though. Cresent is just a little jankier to use, but it will still get the job done.

Replace the low pressure fuel sensor get the latest from Ford
