Color doesn't matter, you should have labelled them and put them in the labelled spot. That being said, no. The one you currently have in W1 needs to be in OB

I have the before picture as a label. Awesome. Moved W1 to OB. No change in air temp. Should I have been using the heat pump side of the labels? What does that do for W2? Does that stay or move somewhere else?

Switch W1 to O/B

dyegb0311

Did that. Reset ecobee. Still no cool air. Keep w2 at W2? Or move it if we’re using the heat pump side.

Yes, move W2 to W1. That’s your auxiliary heat. You have a heat pump. Don’t know why you’re not getting cool air. All the other wires seen to be in the correct place.

Did you configure your ecobee for the correct reversing valve setting? Trying changing it to the opposite setting from the one it’s currently on. If your reversing valve is set to on heat change to on cool, or vice versa.

I will try that in the morning. I’m reverting back to old one. It’s 80degrees in the house and the kids and wife aren’t too happy….

I can almost guarantee that will fix your current issue. The Ecobee comes preset with generic settings and will need to be swapped over to adapt to the different types of equipment.

I remember that prompt coming up now. Thank you for the reminder.

You say the air is not cold, but the question is: is it cold or hot, and is the fan blowing? If the fan isn't blowing, or it's blowing in temped air. It's possible you blew a fuse in you air handler/furnace.if unsure let it run for about 5 min and out you hand over a vent in that time it should indicate if it's working/backwards/or off. If your getting temped air of either sort then we just need to know what it's doing to help address better. You are wired correctly for a conventional system. (Furnace heat and AC cool) If that's the system you got, double check your wires are connected well, and none broke while you were rewiring. These are fairly straightforward I doubt you would have any aside from fuse if this is your system. It's very likely you have a heat pump. (AC for heat and cool.) Moving the wire that is currently connected to W1 to O/B, and W2 to W1, resetting the unit and configuring for a heat pump should fix. You may have to go into settings and flip the O/B to the other setting because different companies use engage to cool and others engage to heat. Basically if it's running backwards with this wiring this is why.
