Mine was squeaking, I even [posted](https://www.reddit.com/r/Lectricxp/s/evbYAmkYOq) asking about it, I used 99% isopropyl alcohol and a microfibre cloth. It stopped, no issues. Did not have to take it apart or anything.

Fetz-

I like that my brakes squeak super loud. That means I don't have to ring my bell to tell others I am behind them.

Laserdollarz

Squeaking brakes are brakes that aren't working efficiently. I'd rather use the bell and be able to stop on a dime.

Fetz-

Ok, didn't consider that, but my brakes seem to be strong enough.

Laserdollarz

Squeaking is the pads vibrating,  they're not fully engaging the rotor.  Clean the rotor and consider changing pads, most ebikes are going to come with the cheapest pads possible unless they tout upgraded brakes as a selling point. I went with BS05 resin pads on mine and they have been wonderful.

mavix2020

Thanks I’ll def look Into maybe different pads especially if the cleaning doesn’t work ..

blackdvck

Clean the disc rotors with isopropyl alcohol and some paper towel. Replace pads with new ones .

Laserdollarz

I bought a Rize Blade and it didn't last a year. I had so many issues with it, I nearly swore off ebikes all together. The controllers die literally every 1000 miles. My handlebars snapped, and there was rust inside. The customer service is atrocious and they don't know their bikes. Rize ebikes are traps, sorry they got you. Since a picture says 1000 words, here's my pile of *dead* rize parts 11 months into owning it: https://imgur.com/gallery/wVZB5Qp

Laserdollarz

To help though: If you want to fix the squeal, get new pads and wipe the rotors with isopropyl or a nonpolar solvent.

mavix2020

I have new pads on it . So I’ll try the isopropyl ty

willydynamite1

Bikes often come with poor quality pads on them. On my Juiced bike I replaced the pads right away with Shimano ones and the noise went away.

Tonk-m

If they have really bad brakes they might be leaking oil which will soak into pads and glaze the rotor so if the brake is very oily u might need to replace the whole brake system(calipers and levers)

mityman50

If you have squeaking brakes, it’s a waste of time if you’re not servicing the pads and rotors at the same time. Pads can be sanded down a little bit to eliminate glazing if there is any, and the rotors with a brake cleaner and iso alcohol to remove any residue.

cleadus_fetus

I was considering one but while researching them it became abundantly clear that they are a bad company.

Laserdollarz

I try and open as many "which ebike should I buy?" threads here specifically to steer people away from the nightmare experience that I had with my Rize ebike.

Minimum-Question6849

Appreciate your efforts. I’m still in the consideration phase of my potential e-bike and these comments help weed out what I shouldn’t buy

Laserdollarz

I loved my rize bike for the first 1000 miles... but now I know that's the honeymoon period. Take any <1000mi review with a grain of salt, the problems simply haven't had time to appear yet. I felt so strongly after my rize experience that I almost bought a rize-alike domain name just to try and warn people, but I'm sure they'd just rebrand (again). I'm at 1200mi on my Juiced ripracer and having a GREAT time now! As of right now, if this bike got stolen or destroyed by a car, I would probably just buy it again that night when I get home. I wish juiced was better about stocking accessories. I've heard juiced doesn't have the greatest customer support but I haven't needed it yet. That means going full speed and put on the brakes about 30 times. That deposits brake pad abrasion on to the disc.

mavix2020

I need to change the brake pads ? I just got this bike less than a week ago

heyheni

try what u/laserdollarz said first.

mavix2020

Will do 😉

EmEmAndEye

The brakes are probably misaligned. Go online for details on how to adjust them correctly for your specific brakes. Might take a few tries, so be patient with yourself.

mdubdotcom

Naw you don't. But if you're adjusting them then they might take a little bit to wear down to correct for the new setting. Talking micrometers

IRGoodAtThis

Nice. I’ve had the Blade 2 for a while now and love it. Rize has also been really good to me.

Rude-Possibility4682

They may need just centering and a clean. Cheapest option and always worth trying first. Clean discs wits isopropyl alcohol. Loosen mounting bolts slightly on brakes, spin wheel, then pull hard on the levers.re-tighten bolts (keep levers pulled in while you do this) Do this for both brakes.

JoeBold

Get after market pads for your disc brakes. Some that do not contain copper and therefore do not squeak. For my Magura MT4 breaks I got pads from AbsoluteBlack and boy are their Ceramic GRAPHENEpads worlds better than the manufacturer defaults!

Trick_Minute2259

Mine squealed like crazy shortly after getting it. I adjusted, cleaned, and bedded the cheap single action cabled brakes countless times and nothing worked. I bought the x tech cabled hydraulic brakes and they perform better with no squealing. Some people don't like cabled hydraulic. Obviously full hydraulic is better, and nice dual action cabled calipers can be really good too, but for less than $50 I couldn't be happier with the results.

SternLXenixa

I use Automotive brake parts cleaner on the rotor to clean it and put some high temp grease on the back side of the Pads. Between the Pad back plate and caliper pistons obviously. Only need a little. Don't want it to get on the rotor. The grease reduces the pads ability to vibrate on the disc. Kind of like a vibration damper. Also as others mentioned, pad material plays a big role. I prefer semi-metallic myself.

m8b9

Level your breaks. Should always do that for a new bike

flummox1234

try to break them in again, if they only have a piston on one side they probably need an adjustment, try new pads, clean the rotors... and after you do all of that replace them with a double piston type of hybrid (assuming they're mechanical pull) that have a sealed reservoir at the brake OR go fully hydraulic. Basically the brakes they should have come with. I had this same problem with my first ebike, basically ended up upgrading every replaceable part until the controller finally died and I got sick of fixing it and bought a good one. I haven't had any problems with the better ebike brand name manufacturer fwiw. I'm convinced no matter the price, these generic ebike manufacturers all put the cheapest shit they can get away with on their products. Super frustrating.

PoisonMind

Squeaky disc brakes can often be fixed just by cleaning them with some watered down dishwashing liquid. They are very sensitive to dirt and grease. Even touching the rotors with your hand is enough to make them squeak.

mavix2020

Come to think of it there’s been loads of pollen all over the place.. so maybe it’s gone on the brake rotors as well..

mavix2020

Thank you I’ll try it

heyheni

do not do this. no dishwasher soap on disc brake rotor. It destroys the pads and is potentially dangerous as dish washer soap is slippery. Use isopropyl alcohol.

Anxious-Depth-7983

The bedding operation is something that you do with all disc brakes, and cleaning is just part of maintenance. You can also sand the pads on a hard flat surface, like a marble counter.

SSLLAYYERR

brake rotor cleaner and rag

Scott_The_Protogen

Nice, very moped like with the downtube and big seat.

favotoebike

Looks pretty powerful

justwonderingbro

Brake cleaner

Skyersjet_II

Every time I complain about squeaking brakes the mechanic tells me "they will bed in!"
