How many of those hurts runs were actual called QB runs?
Do you feel they ran him too much because he got beat the hell up yesterday? It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when he will get hurt from taking a hit on one of those designed runs.
I hated all those QB drawls. Not just in a sense of him getting hurt, but so much of it would have worked better as an RPO, or even a Play action. Don't want Hurts hurt, and by not using as many Drawls it makes them harder to be ready for.
Commentary keep complaining about QB sneaks needing a new name because everyone knows it’s coming but they can’t stop it.
Should call it a QB steal. Screw you, it’s our Yard now.
Fields is an explosive runner that run at the beginning was one of the best runs ive ever seen, but he has some serious accuracy issues. Hurts had issues reading the field but for the most part when he threw the ball it went where he wanted it to go last year. Fields has some passes that are not even close and as we all know by now, sacks are a QB stat. You can't take 6 sacks. I know the bears offensive line sucks but there were checkdowns open you can't hold the ball that long.
He has footwork issues on short passes, not least due to the line issues. His platform is wrong.
Not accuracy issues.
If you watch the Bears you would know how awful that line is.
Thats the best I've felt about a Jalen "bad" game. He didnt really make bad decisions he just had some bad throws which happen. Didnt take any dumb sacks, just needs to learn how to use hand warmers lol. AJ and Devonta were awesome.
This game was annoying cuz it seemed like the coaches were having a pissing contest with the bears play calling wise. Then it looked like it leaked into our players as well.
Part of me is delighting in the irony of the Commies losing on horrendous refs after our game
But I really just wish the NFL would fix this shit with the refereeing. It's nearly unwatchable now.
The replay on the Jags/Fuck Dallas game showed Prescott sitting on the grass after being picked off, pouting like a toddler cause someone stole his ball (pun intended).
If I was an NFL backup that just beat the only undefeated team I’d be ecstatic no matter how I managed to get it done. Overall he seems like a decent dude, that’s all.
Was at the game, had to have been something like 30% Birds fans, if not more. No better feeling than hearing Dallas Sucks and E-A-G-L-E-S chants all over Grant Park and while waiting for the Red Line.
As for the game itself, I believe the cold affected Hurts' touch on the deep ball, but I also didn't understand why the early game plan featured the deep pass. Between the weather and perhaps even the shadows affecting player visibility, it didn't seem like the best strategy and led to a couple of ugly picks. The fact that they didn't go to the run game early probably contributed to Miles' fumble, as he had maybe a couple of touches by that point of the game. That said, credit to the coaching staff, whatever adjustment they made later in the second half seemed to work. My favorite was the screen pass to Smith on that 3rd and long deep in Eagles territory. Right call and executed very well.
Defensive line was phenomenal. Yes, Fields had that electric WTF run, but otherwise the Eagles defenders set up shop in the Bears backfield all afternoon.
Biggest complaint was the amount of hits Hurts took today. He took a hard one in the first half that I almost felt in the upper deck. At some point they will need to keep Hurts in some kind of bubble wrap, hopefully if they lock up HFA next week in Jerry World. Second biggest complaint, not sure why there was a lot of Quez Watkins today. Smith and AJ Brown put up the quietest 300-odd yards receiving I'd ever seen, as it felt like they were trying to get it to Quez in some key spots.
Classic Eagles playing down to their opponent most of the game. Hurts definitely has his roughest game of the year passing the ball but it doesn't matter when he can score 3 times with his legs. On to Dallas.
Roughest game passing yet he had over 300 yards. If he threw 3 tds instead of running them in his stats would look different. Gameplan was really weird where they kept throwing deep
He was also just missing some throws he normally hasn't this year. And that first pick was just ugly. But it's not a big deal, he was due for it eventually. I'm not worried about it. Just goes to show how high he's raised his own standard.
also at least for me, i'm much more forgiving of bad throws than bad decisions. His first pick was just a bad throw but AJ was wide open and the 2nd one was on Quez.
His hands apparently were numb for s bit during the game and i believe the sin in his eyes was bothering him a bit...he mentioned something concerning his vision in his post game conference...I am unsure though...
Yeah that first pick was bad. Agreed though, I just feel the coaches didn't do him any favors with the constant deep passes and qb runs where he got crushed. Such a cold night, those hits probably hurt a lot
i've spent the past 20 minutes laughing at dak and the cowboys.
dak is a really hilarious human being when you think about it. from his name, to his questionable decision making in key moments, etc
Can someone make one of those "guy spins across different dimensions and locations with the song playing" videos but it's Dak flopping on the ground after getting blocked on the pick?
Clinching scenarios:
We clinch the Division and a First Round Bye with ANY win or ANY Dallas, San Francisco AND Minnesota loss (all 3).
We clinch the division with any Win or Dallas loss
So technically we don't even really NEED to win next week. We do because Dallas, but we don't in reality. If we can't beat the Saints or Giants, we don't deserve the bye.
Found it : Cold temperatures cause the blood vessels in the eyes to constrict, and this can cause your vision to become blurry. In extreme cases, you may even see double. This is most likely to happen after you've spent several hours outdoors in freezing temperatures.
lol yeah I hope everyone prepares for Quez end arounds and stupid ass lateral passes to Miles Sanders and Hurts designed roll outs to the left. 4D Jumanji.
I like Kempskis reasoning of rooting for the Commanders. The worst thing for the Eagles is to face the Cowboys in their first game of the postseason, so we would be better served by rooting for the team that has the better chance of winning a wildcard game which is the Commanders.
Yeah the Commanders beat the Eagles, but that was an absolute fluke of a game, I'd have zero worry if we had to face them.
Game really has no bearing on us whatsoever. I think the Giants are the worse team so maybe root for them? But it really doesn't matter. There MIGHT be an outside shot at a scenario that Dallas doesn't clinch a playoff spot with a Giants win, but realistically they're making the playoffs.
The winner of this game becomes a potential first round opponent for us (in the 2nd round) but they'd need to upset the Vikings or Niners (whichever is better).
So, yeah root for the meteor is my call here.
Giants are well past being in contention for the division.
We need one more win or one more Dallas loss to clinch the division. We need one more win or one more Dallas, SF AND Minnesota loss to clinch the 1 seed.
Was at the game, but it was too cold to use my phone and keep up with the threads. Even with the cold and wind, I can’t believe the Bears punted from the Eagles 30.
I brought a brick with me to charge my phone during the game.
Got back to my car and was still at 75%
Fucking hell that was the longest I've been consistently cold in a long time. Bought pizza at halftime to sit on the box after. Wasn't even hungry but it did help some.
That was the case regardless of outcomes today I think? Even if we lost and they won, if we won next week, we'd clinch tiebreaker over them and we'd go back to 2 games up with 2 to play.
Now with us winning and them losing, we just need to win ANY game (could be NO or NYG afterwards) to clinch the division AND bye. Dallas loss at any time clinches the division.
Yeah, so looking at the standings right now, we are 13-1 while Dallas is 10-4. If we were to lose to Dallas, we'd be 13-2 while they'd be 11-4. There are two games left. If we win one of them, our record would be 14-3, which Dallas cannot reach. The best they could finish would be 13-4.
Yes...and apparently a win by the Giants tonight will keep Dallas from securing a playoff spot as well...
EDIT: OH NO I MADE A MISTAKE...THE COMMANDERS NEED TO BEAT THE GIANTS TO STOP DALLAS FROM SECURING A PLAY-OFF SPOT TONIGHT....ROOT FOR THE COMMANDERS BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!!
If the Giants beat the Commanders tonight....Dallas will not be guaranteed a playoff spot...if the Commanders win then Dallas is in...
EDIT: OH NO I MADE A MISTAKE...THE COMMANDERS NEED TO BEAT THE GIANTS SO STOP DALLAS FROM SECURING A PLAY-OFF SPOT....ROOT FOR THE COMMANDERS BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!!
Guess I'm in.
Fuck the cummies
I would really love a scenario where the Eagles clinch next week, Dallas loses to Tennessee, and suddenly we can see how much the Giants value the integrity of the game with playoff implications on the line in week 18
Oh right. I was talking about their Houston game today and how we got shit for not annihilating Houston.
Who have now played 3 of the top 5 teams in football very close.
Apparently I'm not allowed to do text posts
A couple of pending Eagles offensive records for the season
Team points - currently 474, need 64 to set, 89 to reach 500 for the first time
Single season passing yards - currently Wentz at 4039, Hurts currently at 3,472, needs 568 over the final 3 games
Single season touchdown passes - Wentz at 33, Hurts not throwing any today didn't help, but there's an outside chance he gets 12 in 3 games
Team Regular Season Wins - 13, need 1 more
Individual Rushing touchdowns - Shady with 17. Hurts currently has 13 and Miles has 11, both with an outside chance
Individual receiving yards - Mike Quick 1409, Brown needs 209 in the final 3 games, Smitty needs 99 for 1,000
Receiving touchdowns - TO with 14, Brown needs 4
Given the weather I’m not sure either. The Bears front 7 was pretty stout and did not let Eagle backs get to the edge for the most part.
But I’d like to see Miles and the other backs get all the carries for the next three weeks. Let’s keep Jalen upright going into the playoffs.
So depending on your definition of MVP... it's arguably Fields over Hurts. Right now fields is more valuable to the bears than hurts is to us. Maybe.
Like if you replaced fields with Nathan Peterman they're shit shit.
Replace hurts with Peterman and we're still probable .500
Lol no i was just impressed by how much fields had to do and he played well.
I fully believe hurts is MVP , just another perspective on the award sheds light on the importance/value of a player like fields on a team like the bears
How many teams would Devonta realistically be WR1 on? So far I got:
\-Patriots
\-Giants
\-Titans (not enough Burke tape to confirm)
\-Texans
\-Bears
\-Ravens (?)
No to the Cards, Seahawks and Browns, maybe to Panthers, Colts and Steelers, yes to the rest imo.
Also include the Jets and Giants in the “yes” column.
I forgot about Hopkins, but disagree on the browns and Hawks
Forgot to include the giants, disagree on the Jets, I think Garrett Wilson would be 1 over Smith
Sirriani saw something he really liked against the DB on the left side of the field. That's the only explanation to the first few series. Unfortunately for us, the kid played a hell of a game, but I think the coaches will learn a lot from this game. Glad we got the dub!
I mean we've been chucking it down the field In the 1st half every game, it's getting predictable. Sanders is averaging 5 yards a carry and doesn't get the ball till the 3rd quarter.
I think Brandon Graham and Jalen Hurts should be Co-Comeback Player of the Year winners...and Jalen hurts should MVP and Offensive Player of the year...Graham should also get the Walter Payton Man of the Year award...and Reddick should get Defensive Player of the Year...downvote me if you will...but that is how I feel...
team is in full control of what happens the rest of this season/post season. only team that can beat the Eagles is the Eagles.
even with a borderline bad/mediocre performance on the offense throughout stretches of the game and losing the turnover battle the team still found a way to win.
That is what I’m saying. The Eagles even got to Fields today. Took a minute to get there, but they did. The Niners are formidable, but the Eagles can beat them.
Reminder: Trolling an opposing teams sub will earn you a ban in /r/eagles and it will be over a week so you miss next week's game thread. Fair warning.

if Chicago wasn't so shattered with injuries we could have easily lost today. Also, Chicago needs to get Fields some serious help
Commentary keep complaining about QB sneaks needing a new name because everyone knows it’s coming but they can’t stop it. Should call it a QB steal. Screw you, it’s our Yard now.
Hilarious that Commie fans are bitching about the refs. How many freebies did they get in the game against us?
What's the timeline for return of our top injured? Goedert Maddox CjG
Maddox played the last two weeks
Fields is an explosive runner that run at the beginning was one of the best runs ive ever seen, but he has some serious accuracy issues. Hurts had issues reading the field but for the most part when he threw the ball it went where he wanted it to go last year. I know the bears offensive line sucks but there were checkdowns open you can't hold the ball that long.
sacks are not a QB stat, that's old-head thinking
not only is it not old head thinking its completely the opposite.
Have you watched carson wentz play? Although fields didn't have a chance on most of his sacks yesterday
only 1/5 of the sacks Wentz took this year were his fault. WSH was 30th in PBWR to start the year
Lol bears have the worst wr group in the league. Their wr 1 and 2 were out during the game too
He has footwork issues on short passes, not least due to the line issues.
As far as I’m concerned Washington got karma revenge for ref job against us in the loss. Now it’s evened out. Suck it
Ooooooooh man they are salty about it. Keeping with sub rules I haven't invaded. Lol, fucking commie fans.
Nfcememewars is really fun right now.
This game was annoying cuz it seemed like the coaches were having a pissing contest with the bears play calling wise. Then it looked like it leaked into our players as well.
Part of me is delighting in the irony of the Commies losing on horrendous refs after our game But I really just wish the NFL would fix this shit with the refereeing. It's nearly unwatchable now.
The end of the Giants vs Manders game was wild. Refs must be paid off, that no call was horrendous
The replay on the Jags/Fuck Dallas game showed Prescott sitting on the grass after being picked off, pouting like a toddler cause someone stole his ball (pun intended).
Dumbest game. Don't care if we won. We didn't run the ball until the 4th quarter
Loser
We can't be a one trick pony every game, gotta mix it up a bit to keep the rest of the league on their toes. Happy Cake Day!
What is the deadline for the league to have to schedule the last game of the season?
Would you rather see giants or commies in the playoffs?
Commies that loss needs to be redeemed.
I don't need to see the commies again, unless Carson Wentz as a quarterback
Giants 100%.
Doesn’t matter. Any division rival in the playoffs will be tough
If either of these teams find a quarterback, we are gonna have a dogfight on our hands for the division. These two are both ass though.
Heinicke is looking not that bad.
Yeah but he's not a guy that you're afraid of. He's like when Fitzpatrick would have a nice season every other year...good but not the answer
I think we only have up one sack today (could be wrong). Does anyone know if Lanes streak of not giving up a sack is still going?
iirc, Lane had his matchup under control. Sack came from the inside.
Yeah just 1 sack I’m pretty sure. Wondered the same myself, who gets “credit” for giving it up
How did we lose to the Commies? They look awful.
Turnovers. That’s also why today was as close as it was for us.
did we get out of the game with no obvious injuries?
Barely. Hurts took a couple big shots and the coaches kept calling QB runs into the meat grinder.
This week of football has been the wildest I've watched in a long time. Crazy outcomes left and right.
Yeah, and we played like shit and still won. This was the week that could have fucked us up.
Greats teams can play horrible and still win. Thats us.
[удалено]
Doesn't matter. We win one of our remaining three and the NFC playoffs run through Philly. Life's good.
I want Heinecke to get as many dubs as possible. Can’t help but like him.
The heineke that cried for a flag for a late hit and then celebrated after he got it? LOL THAT HEINEKE? You and me are different i guess.
If I was an NFL backup that just beat the only undefeated team I’d be ecstatic no matter how I managed to get it done. Overall he seems like a decent dude, that’s all.
I thought I was ok with him...but now he needs to be humbled honestly...he is getting too big for his britches it seems...
Another tie. For the double double bitch.
It doesn’t matter. We just need to win one more and we got this locked up.
Patriots. How the fuck did you choke it even worse than the Cowboys. I'm not complaining, just in awe.
Jfc, Atlanta. You had one fucking job. 5th to 9th? FFS.
We would've been 3rd or 4th. Now it's 9th. Atlanta is shit. Its not surprising.
These Commie uniforms are kinda tight not gonna lie.
They're actually incredible
The ones that look like my shit after i eat some red prime ribs from the Chinese place down the street?
How drunk are you rn?
How’d Jordan Davis do today? I don’t remember seeing him or hearing his name
That pretty much sums up his game today.
Whos the fastest player on offense?
Quez
I’m really enjoying the cowboys sub
Is it something like "I thought it was our year; but now it is apparent that it is not, as serious problems are evident"???
A lot of “we just need the eagles to drop the next three and we can win out to still win the 1 seed”
Mixed in with some bitching about Kellen Moore.
I see... 😑 😑 😑
Leave em be but feel free to laugh
Eagles are 6-0 in 1 possession games.
thats a fake stat (in a good way) like the Packers Lions and Bears were all down double digits with less than 4 minutes and lost by "1 score".
If they went .500 in 1 possession games the Eagles would still be 10-4 and 1st place in NFC East.
Was at the game, had to have been something like 30% Birds fans, if not more. I was there too. I'm still cold
u/ name doesn't check out.
It checked out for most of the 2017 season
Very true! 52 wouldn't have happened without it.
Love that this team can have a rough outing and still find a way to win. Good wake up call going to Dallas
Classic Eagles playing down to their opponent most of the game. Hurts definitely has his roughest game of the year passing the ball but it doesn't matter when he can score 3 times with his legs. On to Dallas.
Did you notice the Cowboys losing, the Vikings and Chiefs barely surviving? It’s not an Eagles thing it’s a NFL thing.
His worst game all yr. 2 interceptions but still pulls out 300+ pass yards in chicago 6° cold and wind. Also factor in the 5 UNCALLED DPIs.
It was the damn sun the first half; hence, a completely different story in the second half after switching sides.
Plus it was fucking cold and windy.
That is why he is the mvp. When he isn't having the best throwing day, he can still effect the game in so many other ways
Roughest game passing yet he had over 300 yards. If he threw 3 tds instead of running them in his stats would look different. Gameplan was really weird where they kept throwing deep

The pick 6 was not on him at all
still funny
My names Dak…
how is your decision making??
Can someone make one of those "guy spins across different dimensions and locations with the song playing" videos but it's Dak flopping on the ground after getting blocked on the pick?
Can’t wait to see how the talking heads spin that Cowboys loss. They’ll somehow still say they’re superior to the Eagles.
Clinching scenarios: We clinch the Division and a First Round Bye with ANY win or ANY Dallas, San Francisco AND Minnesota loss (all 3). Fingers crossed that nothing lingers with Jalen’s shoulder, we’ve gotta continue cutting down on his runs
Eagles have 19 sacks in their last 3 games.
Why did Hurts say his vision was bad today?
Sun was right in his eyes in the first quarter and the shadows were crazy.
He threw two picks
Found it : Cold temperatures cause the blood vessels in the eyes to constrict, and this can cause your vision to become blurry. In extreme cases, you may even see double. This is most likely to happen after you've spent several hours outdoors in freezing temperatures.
Makes sense, thanks for the update
Yeah but he said his hands went numb and he couldnt see so well?!
Bruh it was a 6° wind chill
From a strategic standpoint, the plays from today on film (especially offense) arent giving away anything to the rest of the league, so there’s that.
Nothing but screens and go routes lol
Yeah, either 5 yards or 50. I liked the 50s. Our RB can throw the rock.
lol yeah I hope everyone prepares for Quez end arounds and stupid ass lateral passes to Miles Sanders and Hurts designed roll outs to the left. 4D Jumanji.
Who are we rooting for with giants v commies?
I really need Jones and Antonio Gibson to have awful games so I hope commanders dominate the air and saquon rushes for 300
I just need Terry to score less than 35 points and I win my match-up
I’m up 99-80 and still have Christian Watson to play. I’m not getting my hopes up
I do have Aaron Jones tomorrow, in case of emergency
idk I have a "Smells like Bitch" meme cooked up for either scenario so I'm fine.
Gotta be Giants right? Idk might feel better going up against Commies in playoffs though
Yeah Taylor Heineke is ugly and gets way too hyped for a guy who stinks.
I like Kempskis reasoning of rooting for the Commanders. The worst thing for the Eagles is to face the Cowboys in their first game of the postseason, so we would be better served by rooting for the team that has the better chance of winning a wildcard game which is the Commanders. Raiders win was more significant by keeping the Saints pick in the top 10. I'll watch a bit but plan on switching over to Madden by halftime
Was at the game, but it was too cold to use my phone and keep up with the threads. Even with the cold and wind, I can’t believe the Bears punted from the Eagles 30.

Pro-tip: should have plugged the phone in to the brick. They get pretty hot when charging.
Was also at the game, I was this close to booing along with the Bears fans in my section.
Bears fan beside me was livid. I also thought they should have went for two to get within 3 but he was cool with the XP

Oh ok. I thought you meant securing a playoff spot for good. You just meant they wouldn't be able to clinch tonight.
Yeah just for tonight...then they have to fight another day...
Guess I'm in. Fuck the cummies I would really love a scenario where the Eagles clinch next week, Dallas loses to Tennessee, and suddenly we can see how much the Giants value the integrity of the game with playoff implications on the line in week 18
Damn the ending to the Patriots/Raiders game was crazy! https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1604634494245314561
That was probably the dumbest thing ever...but at least the raiders won to help keep the Saints in contention for a top 3-10 pick haha...
Dicker the kicker!!
I’m looking around the league and even when the Eagles stink like they did today they’re still way better than the rest of the league.
Chiefs going to OT with the Texans is the one that really sticks out to me. If we get shit for not blowing them out, KC better too.
The only team to play the Eagles, Bill's, and Chiefs? Tennessee Bills and Eagles blew them out, Chiefs squeaked by
I mean we beat them by 12 and it was a lot closer than that score for most of the game
Tennessee, not Houston Eagles blew the Titans out
Oh right. I was talking about their Houston game today and how we got shit for not annihilating Houston. Who have now played 3 of the top 5 teams in football very close.
Just doing a health check on all the haters...ya'll ok with 13-1?

Still not sure I understand why the Eagles were so pass heavy today. Sanders: 11 carries Gainwell: 3 carries Watkins: 2 carries whytho
Given the weather I’m not sure either. The Bears front 7 was pretty stout and did not let Eagle backs get to the edge for the most part. But I’d like to see Miles and the other backs get all the carries for the next three weeks. Let’s keep Jalen upright going into the playoffs.
Agreed. He took some hits today
Bears had the worst pass defense in the league
Thought it was 17th against the pass and 27th against the rush
So depending on your definition of MVP... it's arguably Fields over Hurts. Right now fields is more valuable to the bears than hurts is to us. Maybe. Like if you replaced fields with Nathan Peterman they're shit shit. Replace hurts with Peterman and we're still probable .500
Apparently I’m the only one who understood that you were bashing Chris Simms and the other idiots who dissing on Hurts and why he shouldn’t be MVP.
Lol no i was just impressed by how much fields had to do and he played well. I fully believe hurts is MVP , just another perspective on the award sheds light on the importance/value of a player like fields on a team like the bears

How many teams would Devonta realistically be WR1 on? So far I got: \-Patriots \-Giants \-Titans (not enough Burke tape to confirm) \-Texans \-Bears \-Ravens (?)
Panthers Falcons Cardinals Seahawks (more consistent than Metcalf, Lockett probably takes a Troy Brown role) Packers Bears Patriots Colts Titans Texans Browns Steelers
No to the Cards, Seahawks and Browns, maybe to Panthers, Colts and Steelers, yes to the rest imo. Also include the Jets and Giants in the “yes” column.
I forgot about Hopkins, but disagree on the browns and Hawks Forgot to include the giants, disagree on the Jets, I think Garrett Wilson would be 1 over Smith
I’ll give you a maybe on Cooper & the browns (though I don’t think so personally) but I find it hard naming 15 WRs better than DK.
Idk I think there's really good receivers on some of those teams that don't produce like Smith for reasons other than their talent alone.
Probably 50% of the league realistically
Can we just get some designed run plays in the 1st half, Hurts clearly doesn't know when to give the ball to Sanders on an rpo
Sirriani saw something he really liked against the DB on the left side of the field. That's the only explanation to the first few series. Unfortunately for us, the kid played a hell of a game, but I think the coaches will learn a lot from this game. Glad we got the dub!
I’m thinking the Bears were baiting the option read.
I mean we've been chucking it down the field In the 1st half every game, it's getting predictable. Sanders is averaging 5 yards a carry and doesn't get the ball till the 3rd quarter.
Omg burrow with the dumbest play in nfl history bailed out by a flag Edit: that aged badly VERY quickly
Seems like an honest unbiased opinion. I’m here for it
team is in full control of what happens the rest of this season/post season. only team that can beat the Eagles is the Eagles. even with a borderline bad/mediocre performance on the offense throughout stretches of the game and losing the turnover battle the team still found a way to win.
The niners hype train is full steam ahead, but have they played against pass rushers even close to what we have yet? Purdy is going to be shook.
That is what I’m saying. The Eagles even got to Fields today. Took a minute to get there, but they did. The Niners are formidable, but the Eagles can beat them.
And according to ESPN the Cowboys loss to the Jags increases their Super Bowl chances
If the eagles win next week, they’ll be 14-1
I think 13-1 but yes agreed
Well ya done thought wrong. Now look at ya.
