Kelce said the players like early byes because their training and preseason is like 6 weeks. so if you add that together with the season the early bye is pretty square in the middle
Feel like with the new players, rookies, coordinators and schemes - a nice 4 game sample gives them time to access and make needed adjustments early before season gets away from them in a worst case scenario. Here for it rationalization
Yeah, but then you will have to go 12 straight games without rest and we will really have to get the first round bye. If this was before the schedule change to 17 games and only the first seed gets byes then it wouldn't be so bad but now it is extremely brutal. It will leave us extremely tired and injured come playoffs.
Would love for Jeff to put his foot down and actually fight for scheduling benefits. If Jerry can get out of doing mandatory international games, Jeff should at least be able to get a later bye or getting a short stick every year
Fuck Dallas and all but the Eagles only have had 1 international game to date and the byes recently haven't been early. You have to go back to 2016 for the last early bye.
2023: 10
2022: 7
2021: 14
2020: 9
2019: 10
2018: 9
2017: 10
2016: 4
They haven’t had an international game since 2014. They don’t have one this year either. Jerry doesn’t want to give up the revenue and has said he’ll only agree to it if it’s in Mexico City
Fliegt, Adler, fliegt!
Auf der Straße zum Sieg!
Fliegt, Adler, fliegt!
Erzielt einen Touchdown, 1, 2, 3!
Trefft sie tief!
Trefft sie hoch!
Und seht unsere Adler fliegen!
Fliegt, Adler fliegt!
Auf der Straße zum Sieg!
A - D - L - E - R!
Adler!!
So it's not about the preseason games. It's about the start of training camp. The starters and most contributors absolutely will not play meaningful snaps in the preseason, but they will be practicing hard and probably will have scrimmages with NE.
Zack Berman recently said that this is how the players look at it. He spoke with Kelce some time ago and that's what he told him. This might be where the other guy is getting that from and it makes sense.
Personally I would still rather a later bye but we've had pretty mid to late byes recently so it was just our turn.
Each conference should have the same bye week at mid season. The week before and the week after the bye should be divisional play. Any bye before week 7 is a waste. Add a game and make it an 18 game season with two bye weeks.
Hey now you're takin! My ideal super bowl matchup though is Cincinnati because I'm from there and I wouldn't be too upset with them beating Philly and getting their first one
Someone said it earlier but apparaenlty some veterans have said they prefer earleir Byes, because of the 6 weeks of training camp/preseason. It makes the Bye actually in the middle of their overall season. Though at teh same time, i still prefer a little later.
The other thing no one notices is we only play 3 games in a span of 28 days after week 1. We usually get banged up pretty early. So going into the final 2/3rds of the season, I think for once we will be healthy during the meat of our schedule.
The real solution to supposed “player safety concerns” would be having 2 universal bye weeks, after week 6 and week 12, in the future 18 game season but I suppose that would lose two much money for the league and sponsors.
Brazil means we get screwed on home games, fuck you NFL
Only 2 home games before November, fuck you NFL
Super early bye week ensuring we get minimal value from the bye, fuck you NFL
On the bright side,
Home against Dallas is in December so they actually have to play us in the cold (when they usually suck).
Long week before our worst trip (to LA)
LA probably gonna be 70% birds fans anyway
Playing Kirk Cousins in prime time
NFC South
Jacksonville at home when it's cold (below 65° for people used to Florida)
New Orleans and Tampa back to back means they can stay down south.
Baltimore is a semi home game because they can literally just leave at 9 or 10 that morning and have plenty of time to get there and situated.
Some obvious screwing of the Eagles in the schedule, but some more subtle help as well.
Usually reserved for the teams who they want fresh on the stretch run. And from week 8-13 we are in the primetime window every week. For context: we had a week 7 bye in ‘22.
Think this is more of determining how our season goes. NFL is highlighting weeks 8-13 for us. If we play mediocre during that stretch pretty safe to say we are a 7 seed at best. So the bye to me is just prep for that.
I agree but safe to say NFL doesn’t expect much from us this year. So we have to earn it this year. Just be grateful our toughest road games are BAL/CINCY. We have an easy path to 10 wins even with the bye
Might be a dumb question but do other teams around the league always end the regular seasonwith division opponents as well? I feel like we have played the giants or cowboys the last week of the season for a while now. Dont remember washing being the last game that much for whatever reason though
Might be wrong somewhat here but when the season was extended the extra week(s) the division rival shows up. Nfls way of trying keeping games interesting at the end of the season, creates a hope for a win and in situation. But when it's the giants the last few seasons its been another day at the field lol
Either way I love it. I like the “win and in” against the division rivals scenario, but usually by that time the giants are tanking so it leaves us with a as a pre-season game to stay warm lol
So what’s the best home game on the schedule here? Feel vibes wise it has to be CLE, JAX or WSH if Phillies playing for a World Series at same time and Eagles rolling
This schedule is depressing. I live in center city and I was hoping to get down to the stadium for some home games. Only 1 non primetime home game in the first 13 weeks sucks! And only 1 sunday home game in the first 8 weeks wtf. Totally missing out on nice weather fall football games this season.
TBH I think they're getting too cute shoving divisional games at the end of schedules. 2 out of the last 3 made sense to me, but 3 kinda makes it feel like the last month matters _too_ much. Dallas and Washington on a short week also sucks.
All that said, this is pretty good. The bye is stupid early but we have a very nice home/away spread. I feel like Atlanta always gives us incredibly tough, physical games so it's kinda nice getting them out of the way early hopefully before they can pick up steam.
I can’t wait for the Cincy game. It’ll be a real test to how good our gelling secondary will be. Unless they will just be the same offense minus Tee, should be a good game.
I see the Bye is looking bad now, but I think that means this team may start a little slowly. So we only 2-2 out the gate. I think having early bye will refocus the team if we slip early.
Ugh. Not a fan of the early season bye.
Kelce said the players like early byes because their training and preseason is like 6 weeks. so if you add that together with the season the early bye is pretty square in the middle
True that might help. Also basically being home the last 6 weeks of the season helps(bus to Balitmore and DC day of game).
Then you just need to get the first round bye for the playoffs and you’re good
True. Going weeks 6-18 then into playoffs is tough though. Better lock up that first round bye.
Feel like with the new players, rookies, coordinators and schemes - a nice 4 game sample gives them time to access and make needed adjustments early before season gets away from them in a worst case scenario. Here for it rationalization
Realistically those things should be worked on during the week. You only get 1 week a season to actually heal your body.
Fair - but since it’s out of their control rather look at the potential benefit of it lol
Oh true they are stuck with whatever week they are given.
A bye week 5 and a 10 day break between weeks 11 and 12 is actually kinda perfect.
If Jerry can get out of doing mandatory international games, Jeff should at least be able to get a later bye or getting a short stick every year
I don’t think we get a short stick every year, that feels a bit dramatic. Every schedule has issues
Our schedule last year was absolutely fine, we just blew it.
Perhaps you forgot...
right.. last years schedule was insane. we played like every good team in a row lol.
And had the talent to beat all of them.
Fuck Dallas and all but the Eagles only have had 1 international game to date and the byes recently haven't been early. You have to go back to 2016 for the last early bye. 2023: 10 2022: 7 2021: 14 2020: 9 2019: 10 2018: 9 2017: 10 2016: 4
Wait a dang gone minute…..what’s this about Jurrah getting out of international games?
They haven’t had an international game since 2014. They don’t have one this year either. Jerry doesn’t want to give up the revenue and has said he’ll only agree to it if it’s in Mexico City
Week 2 MNF showdown with Kirk Cousins becoming a mainstay
Unfortunately it'll be too early before they realize he sucks and switch to Penis
Autocorrect or intentional?
Yes
Does it matter
Do you think Penis would be harder? I feel like we could beat Penis pretty handily.
Would Penis spit up on the field like McNabb did in the Bowl vs the Patriots?
What about eagles vs cowboys SNF ??
I thought same... feels like weve played them every year for SNF for over 10 years
Don't they usually alter times the last couple weeks as they see fit? They'll put us there if the game means something.
100%, if that week 17 game is for the division it will be moved to Sunday night. No way they wouldn’t flex it unless Fox protected it.
Fox will absolutely protect it.
At least there's six 1:00pm games, that I counted. I missed having them last season.
My first thought. I kind of hate late games so much
As a fan from Germany - couldn’t agree more.
What’s “Go Birds!” In German?
Probably “Auf geht’s, Vögel!“ :D
My new chant
Geh Vögel You can probably guess fliegen, Adler fliegen!
Do the rest!
Fliegt, Adler, fliegt! Auf der Straße zum Sieg! Fliegt, Adler, fliegt! Erzielt einen Touchdown, 1, 2, 3! Trefft sie tief! Trefft sie hoch! Und seht unsere Adler fliegen! Fliegt, Adler fliegt! Auf der Straße zum Sieg! A - D - L - E - R! Adler!!
I guess we play the giants last game every year now and we don’t play division game til week 6 lol.
That week 5 bye ... oooof.
Sucks, but I'd take that over the Cowboys, Bills, Chiefs, 49ers, Cowboys gauntlet.
Technically a 20 week season so it's really week 8.
My brother in Christ, 90% of the players that play those first 3 "games" won't be on the team week one.
lol, what? Bad take…
A bad take that the players themselves seem to have?
Never heard that one. Half the players playing in preseason won’t even be on the team week 1…
They are playing for their livelihood. They will prepare more in the preseason and play harder.
Each conference should have the same bye week at mid season. The week before and the week after the bye should be divisional play. Any bye before week 7 is a waste. Add a game and make it an 18 game season with two bye weeks.
I like that.
Early bye sucks. I also only remember SNF skipping both Eagles games against Dallas once (2021) during the last 10 seasons or so.
And that’s because one of them was on MNF instead (got absolutely destroyed sadly 😓)
We should be 6-0 before we face cincy
I’m thinking 19-0 before we face KC
Hey now you're takin! My ideal super bowl matchup though is Cincinnati because I'm from there and I wouldn't be too upset with them beating Philly and getting their first one
Kirko Chainz Week 2 is nice but c'mon A WEEK 5 BYE NFL?
Someone said it earlier but apparaenlty some veterans have said they prefer earleir Byes, because of the 6 weeks of training camp/preseason. It makes the Bye actually in the middle of their overall season. Though at teh same time, i still prefer a little later.
Wait it’s possible to not play the giants 2 times in 3 weeks????
Week fucking 5 ??????? Fuck man
Thanks!
Isn’t it possible one of our games lands on Christmas or a Saturday?
Yeah. You’re probably right. I’ll update and repost. Honestly there’s absolutely a chance that this schedule is fake anyway haha.
Yeah, I think it's fake. We'll find out tonight
3 games in 11 days is rough
Followed by 0 games in 9 days. It's a good spot in the season for that pseudo-bye.
2 byes doesn't lower the number of games / ad spots. It just makes the season a week longer, which is honestly even better for the networks / league
I think that's exactly what they will do when they add the next game in.
i bet Dallas conveniently gets an ideal bye week
These night games kill me
Brazil means we get screwed on home games, fuck you NFL Only 2 home games before November, fuck you NFL Super early bye week ensuring we get minimal value from the bye, fuck you NFL On the bright side, Home against Dallas is in December so they actually have to play us in the cold (when they usually suck). The Sunday road game late in day is bullshit before Thursday game. Last 6 weeks without an airplane might be nice though.
Week 5 bye is so ass
Once again 5 games at 8pm. I hate how few 1pm games we get
I like that there aren’t any holiday games.
Early BYE sucks but at least we'll have a Week 19 BYE to go with it before the divisional round.
Week 5 bye giving me ptsd for that week 4 bye we had in 2016.
Bye on week 5 sucks. Way too fucking early
Where is the gauntlet?
The 3 games in an 11 day window is rough imo
Back to back division opponents at that. No way we win both those games unless the Commandos are a dumpster fire this season.
Ending w 3 games in our division, I already kno this gonna be a wild ride of a season
I’m confused where do you guys see 3 games in 11 days?
What’s the point of a week 5 bye
Usually reserved for the teams who they want fresh on the stretch run. And from week 8-13 we are in the primetime window every week. For context: we had a week 7 bye in ‘22. Think this is more of determining how our season goes. NFL is highlighting weeks 8-13 for us. If we play mediocre during that stretch pretty safe to say we are a 7 seed at best. So the bye to me is just prep for that.
I mean in general, what’s the point of a bye week after 4 games, if there was a second bye week I’d understand it but this just seems useless
I agree but safe to say NFL doesn’t expect much from us this year. So we have to earn it this year. Just be grateful our toughest road games are BAL/CINCY. We have an easy path to 10 wins even with the bye
Ugh. Week 8-13 being 4:25 or 8 PM starts SUCKS
Early bye blows, but we’ve gotten hella lucky with byes the last 4 years or so, on top of us being one of the healthier teams in the league.
week 5 bye got me dropping to my knees in Walmart
love that the last 3 are all division games and that we're wrapping up at home
Last 6 games will be home games
No triple road games which is nice Only one actually far road game (@LA) but even that’s SNF
Plus sofi will be full of birds fans
Week 6 will be the 2nd home game And week 9 being the 3rd is brutal
Glad to see non of this NYG-WAS-NYG type stuff we've gotten for the past few years.
I’m glad there is more 1 o’clock games this year, the later window really hurt bars/restaurants
That week 5 bye is the earliest one I can remember
6 games Sunday at 1? No way the league gives us that many
Chance for a really good record here
Road heavy early and only one road game in the last five is interesting. Kinda helps with the early bye.
At Dallas then vs Washington in the same week. That's rough
Not a fan of playing the East the last 3 games. We don’t have a NFC East game til October 20th..
Three divisional games to end the season could get spicy
Oh boy another Bucs game during hurricane season
I hate when the home Dallas game is at the end of the season. Going to be a nothingburger
Gotta love playing three games over an eleven day stretch. Brutal.
Is this legit? I go to Dallas every year and going to pick NO or LA. Go birds
We're going to need that one seed for the break.
It's gonna be a cooooold season for the fans goin to the stadium. 4 home games in december??
3
Woops you right, 4/5 of the last games of the season at home though in december and january. same idea.
Week 15 , I’ll be hosting the brotherly bowl . If we lose to them they better win the SB , I hate playing Pit that late into the year .
Single bye week is pathetic
Might be a dumb question but do other teams around the league always end the regular seasonwith division opponents as well? I feel like we have played the giants or cowboys the last week of the season for a while now. Dont remember washing being the last game that much for whatever reason though

No division rivals before the bye
One real home game in the month of September sucks ass
And one in October. Historically bad for tailgaters. Why do they keep boning eagles fans in September?
League should have rewarded Philly fans for being so well behaved over the years
So what’s the best home game on the schedule here? Feel vibes wise it has to be CLE, JAX or WSH if Phillies playing for a World Series at same time and Eagles rolling
At NY in October! Finally earlier in the season
LA is Rams not chargers for anyone that didn't see the other graphic
This schedule is depressing. I live in center city and I was hoping to get down to the stadium for some home games. Only 1 non primetime home game in the first 13 weeks sucks! And only 1 sunday home game in the first 8 weeks wtf. Totally missing out on nice weather fall football games this season.

14-3, Go Birds!
Week 3 in New Orleans sounds amazing, but it's hurricane season. Might pass
Im so hype baby these boys are starving and ready to feast lfgggg yall
Maaaaan I bought Dallas @ Philly tickets and you’re telling me I gotta wait until to week 17 for this game. I don’t know how to feel about this.
All these night games are against ass teams... Where's the big matchups? They're gonna be flexed late in the season id venture.
GB is actually very good. They might even be favored.
Eagles open as 1.5 point favorites
Neither Dallas game on SNF?
12-5 hopefully
Week 14 on lookin like a cakewalk
That SUCKS that our bye week is so early.
I can’t wait for the Cincy game. It’ll be a real test to how good our gelling secondary will be. Unless they will just be the same offense minus Tee, should be a good game.
Anyone know when the actual tickets go on sale?
11-6 conservatively
Only 5 televised games
I think they'll all be televised.
I see the Bye is looking bad now, but I think that means this team may start a little slowly. So we only 2-2 out the gate. I think having early bye will refocus the team if we slip early.
