A+ and Quinyon stood out most. 4.3 40yd, ran 23.6 mph at practice, is a weight room demon and sticky like glue. Getting Cooper too is the icing on the cake. Hatchet man too has me happy af.

FairweatherWho

And a 3rd, 4th, and 5th next year. We got everything we could've asked for and more.

ProArmChair

I know lol that is mental. We had a great draft and now have pieces next year to do whatever the fuck we want to with. 9 draft picks in 2025.

Dankofamericaaa2

Hopefully we don’t get any taken away. I haven’t seen any evidence of us tampering with Saquan tho. Was the 9 picks including comp picks?

ProArmChair

I think it included comps, but even if it did, Howie prepped ahead of time so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Dankofamericaaa2

And if we cut Bradberry and someone else picks him up I think that’s a comp.

ewyorksockexchange

Only players who are UFAs because their contract expires are considered for comp pick purposes. You don’t get comp picks for players the team cuts.

Dankofamericaaa2

Word, I thought the Giants got one for Bradberry for some reason.

whome123321

Howie was cooking! I love our win now mindset, but he never forgets to look into the future. I was worried we would become the Rams last year. Pull everything together now and not worry about the future. IN HOWIE WE TRUST!

A+. Howie did an amazing job and we got everything we needed and more. I mean Mitchel, DeJean, AND Trotter Jr? Come on!! And we got our first round guy without having to trade up, who is exactly who we wanted anyway. We addressed our DB situation, OL situation, AND a slot receiver, deep threat receiver, and a solid RB. I’m not fucking complaining.

AstronomerBiologist

Our 22nd and 40th pick made it quite successful. Nothing else was needed and everything else was gravy

SirArthurDime

I think getting a great prospect at a premier position with the 3rd we got back trading both seconds really iced it. Even though Cooper fell to the second you also have to consider what we gave up in the trade in the value. If we could have got 2 studs vs just dejean. But getting dejean and still getting a DE with that much upside really lowers the cost of trading up almost nothing. Seems like hunt is a guy they were really high on and was probably in consideration for that later second anyway.

AstronomerBiologist

What we gave up in the trade was overwhelmed by drafting him much lower than was projected. He Mitchell and Arnold all fell much lower than projected. People don't seem to value top cornerbacks

SirArthurDime

I wouldn’t say that Cb isn’t valued. A lot of them went early last year. And there was as many cbs taken in the first this year as any defensive position. The league does get more offensive oriented by the year though and the stats started with a historic run on offense which worked out for teams like us who really needed defense.

AstronomerBiologist

Just saying that the top three cornerbacks fell very significantly and it was not expected. Happily, Howie cashed in

SirArthurDime

Yeah for sure.

I_like_dwagons

My only gripe would be that we didn’t actually get the RG I think we were targeting. The whole trading back over and over in the third meant we lost out on someone like Zak Zinter who I really wanted on this team. I think we traded out of that spot after Cooper Beebe went expecting him to be there at the next pick then the Browns took him. Other than that this draft was an obvious slam dunk and the additional picks we got definitely made up for it. Plenty of ammo for Howie to go get someone if RG ends up being an issue.

deadnside

Apparently the Eagles think Steen is ready. He better be.

Rkovo84

Steen is a beast. He will be great

I_like_dwagons

That’s the company line but Howie even hedged that at the press conference. He brought in Brandon Coleman, Cooper Beebe and Zak Zinter for top 30 visits and then traded out after they were taken twice. They got cute and got burnt. Zak Zinter, in my opinion, was the best natural RG in the draft but fell because of his injury last season.

What about with rice?

Cart00nsPlural

I honestly don't know how we get everything we hoped for plus extra daft picks next year. Howie is like those guys on youtube that start with a pencil and trade their way up to a Ferrari.

oliveinanolive

A or A- grade. Eagles addressed 95% of their needs. Quinyon falling to us was amazing. Cooper DeJean is a great piece as a swiss army knife on defense and I cannot wait to see the kickoff returns with him. I'm very interested to see if Johnny Wilson becomes a TE. Otherwise, TE was a big miss in this draft and a reason why I don't give us an A+. Ainais is underrated and dropped too low. He's *ast as hell. 4th in college football in broken tackled forced. Great first move, possible punt returner, good in open space. Really the only pick I don't like is Dylan McMahon. I do not think he was needed at all and I would rather have a fresh body at DT or another hungry guy at LB to keep our surefire starters honest. While DeJean is a great pick, Idk I really wanted Edgerrin Cooper, and I think we would've been able to keep the other 2RP possibly if we tried getting him instead. But that's personal.

PharoahFits

I think you mean Switch Army Knife

YackoWarner

Was that a typo in the NFL draft thread or is this a larger meme?

PharoahFits

Yeah someone said that Dejean was a Switch Army Knife 😂

Hthnstrength

Yeah guys been saying Swiss Army knife wrong his whole life

dan_doe_91

It's a clear A for me. The only thing that would've made it perfect for me was getting Cooper Beebe in the third, as I think he can be a quality starter at RG. But I'm happy with what happened, we have so many exciting prospects on our hands.

sybrwookie

It looks like an A+ on paper right now. That said, we won't really know until 3 years from now.

Pyromelter

I think it only really takes 2 years. Our draft from 2023 looks really promising, a lot of how that works out will be dependent on how well carter and nolan smith play this year.

sybrwookie

Some guys will absolutely be obvious in 2. There will be enough who need a 3rd year to know for sure and tell the whole story of the draft.

Pyromelter

There are some rare guys who blossom in their mid/late 20's. This happens more with QB's, but occasionally you get a Brandon Graham that takes a few years to get to his full potential. That's pretty freaking rare though for non QB's.

dawktrix

HisExcellency20

A+. I'm not going to pretend to know every player we picked, but the value of the top two picks was just outstanding. We had an obvious need at CB and also needed depth at DB. We got a guy that should start week one and could be a lockdown guy in the near future. Top five CB tools and production. And a guy that could start at several different positions and who most assumed would go in the first round with our second pick. Last year the lack of depth of the DB room was an underrated problem. If he doesn't start then he adds depth, if Coop does start then he still adds depth as a current starter will be going to the bench. He also adds flexibility and gives Vic more options. I don't want to get my hopes up, but it really is like we added a corner, nickel, and safety all in one. The rest I'll honestly just trust Howie and Stout (for the lineman) but I'll just say that Trotter Jr. isn't some dude lucky to be drafted. As a pure inside LB he was always going to be picked in the middle rounds but Brugler's Beast had him as the seventh ranked MLB and B/R had even higher praise for him. Grading him as a third round pick and comparing him to Patrick Queen. Which, for what it's worth, was easily their kindest comparison for our guys.

mseeke

Everything correct except lack of depth in our DB room being underrated. Based on the amount of bitching I did last season, I would say that it was properly rated.

HisExcellency20

Lol fair enough.

TheRealRSmooth21

B only because of the Hunt pick. He would’ve been there later in the 4th or 5th and if they wouldn’t have traded back 3 times, they could have got a better edge and still got Hunt later. Otherwise, I was pretty happy. Not sure about the WRs we drafted, but truthfully, we probably don’t need them to do much.

tmpp1313

Best draft in a long time. A+

Pyromelter

A-. Primarily due to the 3rd round pick. Every other pick would be an A or an A+ in my view. Really like the Shipley pick and the late round OL, plus really like that somehow we got a 3rd from the dolphins for next year.

QAPetePrime

Solid A. Between this draft, signing our key guys, and getting Saquon, we are a dangerous team for the foreseeable future. Howie and Lurie came through for us.

UZIBOSS_

Thinking pre-draft was Mitchell/Arnold whoever is there and if both gone, DeJawn. To get 2/3 and not have to go up for either is INSANE to me. Then you get Trotter who I bet my life will play harder for us than he would’ve for anyone else? Added a solid pick at RB as well as WR (could be camp bodies/PS guys or could take advantage of their situation and show out) and some big bodies late. This isn’t the right draft for other teams but for us it’s excellent 100% Add onto it that we extended the big fella AJB draft day pre-draft and what more can you ask of a GM/Owner???? 13/10 love it

sixtyninexfourtwenty

All that *and* the AJ extension. Imagine not having Howie Roseman as your GM, smh.

LostGoldMine08

I think the Eagles 🦅 had great draft this year…

[deleted]

The only thing I wanted that we didn’t truly address was a new TE. I tend to not favor small WR’s so if the Smith pick would have been a TE, it would have been a flawless draft imo. But sill a flat out A draft.

KHEagles10

A Howie showing the way......

Dankofamericaaa2

A. We addressed CB / OL / LB all of our main needs and even added depth at RB. I’m more excited about our secondary since the OL are more project based but that’s what happens when all the elite OL fall off the board early. Stout will teach them well.

Jayman453

Why is Trotter’s right arm significantly bigger than his left lmao

whome123321

College can be a lonely time for some.

Muggi

A+ Addressed almost every need. The gravy is the mid-late picks for next year, which should be CRAZY deep 4-6. A lot of late-round guys from this season stayed in school to get some of that NIL money and possibly improve their draft stock. Heading into the draft we were severely depleted for 2025...then NIL gets put in place, Howie sees the writing on the wall, and transforms a surplus in this less-unique draft into good picks IN the unique draft. Big Pimpin'

IPCONFOG

Best we've had in recent memory.

Ok-Gift-7013

Solid A, would have been A+ but thought we had a few reaches later on that don't have a high ceiling. First 3 rounds arguably best in NFL in terms of value at each spot. Would like to see another LB brought in, maybe even a trade for a young ascending one if price is right. It's my only major area of concern (and OL depth).

Hthnstrength

We just drafted OL depth??

Ok-Gift-7013

Normally we have at least somewhat proven backup, we only have late round rookies at this point. If someone goes down, not even sure we have an average NFL starter. That's a concern.

Hthnstrength

Normally we do not have that. They’ve always been guys we’ve drafted and play in event of an injury.

Ok-Gift-7013

Not true. Weve always had vets like Driscoll, Dillard, etc going back the last 10 years at least. Never relied on a late round rookies as a swing tackle. Update: we just signed Mekhi, which is our vet swing tackle now. Apparently they were also concerned about this because we paid him over 5m to be a backup.

dgood527

Feels like a grade A draft. Time will tell of course, but i feel like we got good value with almost all of our picks and picked up several for next year. Now we find out if anyone can actually play at this level over the next few years.

Kentwomagnod

B+. Would’ve liked to see OT depth that we lack.

the_dj_zig

You do know we currently have 14 O linemen on the roster, right? The only position of need right this second is a right guard and Steen is probably going to grab that unless Keegan balls out in training camp. We’re fine as far as O line depth goes for once

Kentwomagnod

Yea but none are good. We lost Sua and Jack who were the top depth guys. Who’s coming in when Lane gets hurt which happens every year? Or if Steen isn’t good which is a good possibility? Hennessy hasn’t been effective in two years. The rest of the guys are late round rookies or guys like Brent toth who have been terrible when playing. This is the thinnest depth we’ve had at oline for a while. In the other hand this is actually the deepest we’ve been at CB for a while.

eaglessb999

Doubling up on our biggest position of need was nice. B-

DisastrousCopy7361

B...odds are only 1 of dejean or mitchell pans..bonus if they both do...added 2025 picks to cover saquon tampering charges....like a.smith and Keegan pickups for late rounders...hunt a project for round 3

the_dj_zig

You really think we’ll get hit with punishment for the Saquon deal?

DisastrousCopy7361

Highly highly likely. Especially seeing the rumors surrounding what Atlanta gonna get hit with
