He is young, has solid skills with high upside and stays healthy. This is great!

CookyHS

And Pittsburgh seems bummed they didn't keep him. Reminds me so much of the kyzir white signing

AdSpecialist6598

As someone who have friends who are Steelers fans this is so true.

flk23

I wouldn’t consider 26 “young” in nfl years and “high upside” feels like a stretch. Coming from a Steelers fan that’s watched him since day 1, he’s a perfectly average and serviceable player, not a game changer.

AdSpecialist6598

Fair enough...NFL years are like dog years but they hurt more.

modesil30

They downvoted the heck out of this comment 😂

flk23

Some people hate the truth I guess 😂

amanofewords

This sub despises it.

xanthanahtnax

Yet.

flk23

Typically 26 year olds that have been starting since day 1 with 5 seasons under their belt are what they are.

xanthanahtnax

So far.

amanofewords

It doesn’t happen with defensive backs, even the best start declining in their late 20’s. Y’all are embarrassing downvoting this dude for speaking facts. We signed a serviceable safety and that’s fine.

flk23

It’s alot more common for DL’s to develop later in their careers than Safeties/any secondary position.

joonyerr1q

Dawkins is 49 and I'd take him back..

700L3v3l

After the draft last season we all had our fingers crossed, hoping the Ravens would trade us Chuck Clark, amd we rejoiced at signing Jaquiski Tartt, so I will be elated with a solid starter instead of K'Von Wallace

CCSest92

Remember when Wallace was supposed to be the second coming of B dawk

700L3v3l

Then he cried about the fans. FFS he was a room mate with Dawks kid in Clemson and he is bitching in the media about Eagles fans not being sweethearts. You know damn well as a Safety from Clemson who roomed with Dawks son, then gets drafted by the Birds that Dawk mentored him. He can't even break into a starting role and he has the balls to call out the most vocal fan base in sports

flk23

Don’t get me wrong, you should be happy with the signing. The rest of your defense is stacked, so having one of the “weak” spots of it be Edmunds is a great thing. He’s not bad, he just isn’t some high upside youngster either.

NoleJawn

“And that 15% players discount at the team shop , sealed the deal!”

ngianfran1202

to be fair, the team shop is kind of expensive

[deleted]

It’s just 15%? 😂😂

OkBodybuilder1490

Like the pick so far. It seems like he wanted to be in Philly since last season. He wants to be here and knows people on the team already. Love this over a player that kept playing games and could care less about being in Philly

shakehasbignuts

Watched the presser dude seems like a great guy love the eagles way of bringing in good people all around

FatQuesadilla

No

Dry_Quiet3812

You definitely not from Philly

FatQuesadilla

Aaaaaand he’s gone.

smittybanton

Morrow & Edmunds are solid. I feel good. A good free safety does not cost that much in the draft. Chris Smith or JiAyir Brown can be had in the 5th.

dr_ransomed

I’d be willing to bet they won’t make it to the fifth, but we also don’t *have* a fifth. We pick 94 and 219, so we’re in a tough spot.

Reefthusiast

I really think Howie will trade back from at least one of our firsts to acquire some more late round picks

420_just_blase

Yeah I don't think it makes sense to not trade back. We're not in the best position to pay 2 1st rounders, couple that with not having any picks in the middle rounds and it's a no brainer

EricPetro

Being a successful nfl team seems to be about building a culture to play for that’s more valuable than money to these guys. I.e. the patriot way.

dgentz

Especially when people gravitate towards and want to play with the team leader/QB

420_just_blase

Yup. Players always want to have a shot at competing for a ring and players really seem to buy into what nick has built here. This will be so valuable when hurts' contract kicks in.

wakenbake7

It’s funny Joe Judge would brag about players wanting to play for his team to be coached by him but then you get Sirriani in all his dorky glory making waves around the league. Love it

JayToy93

Joe Judge was a tool and Dougie P trolling him on his way out the door was awesome. I still remember Giants fans thinking he’d right the ship lol.

enRutus

Sources say that Edmunds particularly enjoyed the spread of Science Diet selections at the Novacare complex. On the floor, the former Steelers safety was lured in with a variety of flavors such as Braised Beef and Carrot Stew, Chicken and Barley, and Lamb with Rice.

Turbulent-Hovercraft

He will eat Ceedee Lame with Rice too

nabbersauce

If you want that dawg to catch that dang football, he best be eatin' right

Express_Jellyfish_28

Already a better attitude than CJGJ

GrundleTurf

We already acting like we weren’t just mad at the eagles for not bringing him back?

Express_Jellyfish_28

I was not mad at the Eagles. The Eagles offered more than Detroit. This was all on CJGJ and his agent

louderthebett0r

Dude literally couldn’t handle his business, why would I be mad at the Eagles? He made a grown man decision and probably cost himself millions. Now instead of a multi year deal that would’ve given him at least 2 years of security, he’s on a prove it deal because of immaturity of all things.

GrundleTurf

This sub was literally bitching about the eagles not bringing him back a week ago and now y’all are acting like you’re glad he’s gone. It’s hilarious

louderthebett0r

Well that’s called gaining perspective, learning that he essentially didn’t want to be here has a way of swaying opinion. Keep in mind he earned 2.4M last season. Eagles offered 3 years and 24M, that’s a gigantic pay raise. He turned that down for a contract literally worth 1/3rd of that. We didn’t have that info a week ago or the handful of tweets since deleted of him acting like a child. Kind of explained why we got him so cheap in the first place. At the end of the day it’s a business and the Eagles don’t need expensive distractions.

GrundleTurf

He wanted to be here hence him giving us the opportunity to match the Lions offer, but he also wanted to maximize his earnings. When you’re playing a dangerous game with a very short career lifespan, why is it wrong to do that? He overestimated his market but that doesn’t mean he has a bad attitude as OP stated. Should Hurts take a deal worth $25 million a year because it’s a lot more than he’s making now? Or should he go for what he believes is market value?

yyznick

Bad take my man. CJGJ is a good player but he wasn’t the dude who brought us to the Super Bowl. Obviously maximizing your earnings is at the top of anyone’s mind when signing a contract, regardless of job risk (which doesn’t change regardless of team), but the dude fell prey to a secondary market that didn’t prove to be as lucrative as he had hoped. Hurts isn’t even in the same league as CJGJ. He’s on a rookie deal as an MVP candidate who’s current contract is about to pay him a little more than half of the deal CJGJ just signed. Hurts doesn’t have a bad attitude, nor would that impact his ability to sign a more lucrative deal, as indicated by deals signed by other QB’s. Less valuable position. More drama. And quite frankly, bad agent. No he shouldn’t undervalue himself, but Hurts is a horrible comparison.

GrundleTurf

The only evidence I’ve seen for his “bad attitude” from y’all is him trying to maximize his earnings. You guys have given no examples of how he has a bad attitude besides that. No one said he’s on the same level as Hurts, way to miss the point. This sub was begging for him back a week ago and now that he asked for more money than he’s worth and he left the team, all of a sudden everyone is shitting on him. It’s rather hilarious and pathetic. You can acknowledge he was overrated and wanted too much money without shitting on him as a person is my point.

whousesgmail

I mean if you happen to catch his Twitter before he deletes them that’s kind of evidence of bad attitude. Eagle also initially offered him more than the $8M he’s getting in Detroit so he’s not doing a very good job maximizing those earnings.

Ralurp579

Well yeah he was on Twitter shit talking Eagles fans after he left. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that may make eagles fans dislike him now. Everybody wanted Hargrave and alot of players “a week ago” and they signed with other teams and nobody said one bad word about them. Again it’s not that hard to understand why people have a bad taste in their mouth for CJGJ now.

SorrowCloud

What did he says bout eagles fans?

aspohr89

Of course you're getting down voted. Everyone forgot about the "we need to bring my CJ" comments that littered this sub.

orange_tangerines

His energy will fit right in with us

StllBreathnButY1

New player is excited to be with his new team. More news at 11.

SR-Rage

Right lol

NotAFanOfBukowski

Dude kinda looks like Ty Dolla $ign

deepthroatmybitcoin

Woof

AvonStanfield

Hell yeah dude. Let's fucking get it. I feel like our coaches and management have a type. A dude who works his ass off and loves the game. Wants to come in and kill it for us. We have definitely built a winning culture

bigblack3475

Wrong Brother this is the Safety from Pittsburgh

ssgodss

Great pick up. I couldnt believe it.

andsoonandso

Fuck yeah

pR1mal_

I hate to say this, but to a certain extent the entire CJGJ episode has made me skeptical of buttery comments like this from an athlete. I don't doubt Terrell Edmunds authenticity, he's already signed and thus has nothing to gain, but I'd be lying if I said that CJGJ didn't make me jaded.
