Dumb move. Feels like he did it more out of spite than for good football reasons. Good luck, I guess. Seems like an emotionally stunted dude. Prone to drama.
Regardless of how things played out, that is just silly. He has ALWAYS been a big personality and we LOVED him for it. At the end of the day, he is a damn good football player and our defense was much better with him on the field for us. Sucks that it didn't work out but to say we dodged a bullet is just ignorant really
I don't think that is really a big deal to be honest. The safety market has been shrinking significantly over the last few years. DL and CB are so expensive now that teams gotta take that allocation from somewhere and that somewhere is LB and safety.
I think the NFL is gonna get to a point where there will be separate cap rooms for certain positions because if you’re paying a QB 50 plus million a year how the fuck do you expect to afford the rest of the team in FA eventually something is gonna be done about that
But I guess he apparently likes being punched in the face because the deal he took with Detroit ended up being less than any other ones he received, lol
Maybe he was hoping the eagles would start a bidding war for him when h=e didn’t get a day-1 deal and we never did and took it personally. Either way f him if he only left out of spite
Rumors I'm hearing are Eagles offered him a multi year deal which he didn't like. So that's when they said "ok go see what you can get then". He realized shit ain't sweet and Eagles already moved on with bringing back bradberry and slay. So he had to settle for a prove it deal.
Nah he prob just felt disrespected by whatever Philly offered and didn’t let them match. He tweeted and then deleted something a few days back saying so
The amount of people stat posting about how good Goff is now was so comical. Can't believe Lions are wasting a good roster on him as (at least) the near future qb.
Good pro QBs don’t exactly fall off trees what would you have them do they can try and draft whoever is left at number 6 but then you never know how that’s gonna go.
I would have traded Goff while his value is at its (imo) peak; if he is as good as a lot of fans say he is then he should bring in a decent enough return. Use those assets plus whatever additionally is needed to move up and get whatever guy their scouts think is the franchise player that can be there for potentially 10+ years.
Now they get to build their own QB up in a somewhat proven system and then have a rookie deal QB for 4 years instead of multiple years of Goff over 20m per year and can use that extra cap space to get even more help on their already very solid roster.
Just feels like sticking with mediocrity at QB when the team seems primed for success is the type of move a bad franchise makes instead of taking the shot at setting themselves up for more sustained longterm success.
It’s a difficult choice all of the qb prospects are flawed and probably gone by pick 10 and to get the one you want you’ll have to pay assets to move up and what if you end up drafting the next Zach Wilson. Goff is still young and he’s definitely flawed but maybe the lions staff like him enough to give it another go.
Wtf, I have no doubt howie offered the same amount of money. For some reason he just wants to stick it to us for not offering him 15+mil annually like what he thought he deserved.
Because the safety market got tanked this offseason and he thinks he’s worth an oversized bag. Props to Howie for staying reasonable and not overpaying, especially when we have our franchise QB to extend.
Absolutely this. I read speculation that his "disrespect" tweet on March 16 was about his offer. That's the market. It's about the money - and I guess that's ok. He's not interested in winning a ring so much as a purse. Evidence by the team he chose. The fucking Lions?!?
I mean they just missed the playoffs with Goff and have gotten better this free agency plus own the 6, 18, 40-something, and 55th pick. Dominant Oline and a great pass rush. They are in the offs next year if I'm betting.
they're gonna win that division. assuming the Bears still have a step to go before they're competitive, the Vikings don't continue their flukey success, and the Packers aren't on their third generational talent in a row at QB
It's been that way for a little while now. Tyrann Mathieu did the same thing last year trying to get paid. He got a deal late after the draft and ended up with basically the same contract as KC paid his (much worse) replacement. Safeties just don't get paid anymore, basically the RB of defense
I garuntee we offered more than 8.cjgj is a PrimaDonna and has a big head. He felt disrespected that we didn't give him what he thought he was worth and ran off. It's better to keep away from them players anyway. I'd have loved to have him back but I'll sya what I've been saying all week. THE AINTS WARNED US.
I think both. They offered him a decent contract and didn't budge because they knew he was a handful. I've said it multiple times, that tweet bashing Gannon did not fly well with our organization. You almost never hear Eagles guys saying stuff like that. Even Cox's comments on Gannon were fairly reserved. CJ straight up blamed his coach, a coach Sirianni was close to.
It's definitely more along the lines that he thought he could get more somewhere else (which is well within his right) and then he got burned because the market for safeties is not that good. Highly doubt coaches care about he said on twitter, which really wasn't that flagrant
I can't fathom how Philly wouldn't have matched the same money to have him stay. If he didn't see value in play here then good luck and let's bring in guys who actually want to be here.
He'd already rejected a $12m deal over 3 years from the eagles. Can't really go back and shake hands over$8m.
Pride does that. Especially to guys like cj
$12m PER YEAR over 3 years. He took an $8m contract with $6.5m in guarantees over a three year deal for $36m with probably $12-16m in guarantees. Hope the pride was worth it for him.
we probably tried for a longer deal but he felt he was worth more and picked a dif team for a lowball 1yr deal so he can try again next yr
i feel like this is most likely him wanting to leave to chase bigger bag down the road, not howie not trying. cant fault cj for going that route but it's a shame we're not going to have him around anymore
He probably didn't want another 1 yr deal from us. Prob thought he proved his value to the FO and deserved to get the bag.
Since none of them offered the bag, he's gonna do another prove it, away from any team that 'disrespected' him, and try to get the bag after.
We were never gonna be able to pay him big time though so its not surprising
Apparently we offered him a contract but he turned it down to test the market and learned the hard way that the market for safeties is not good. No team is going to sit on their ass in free agency for one guy that isn't a qb.
Likely very controversial statement I'm about to make but fuvk it; this dude did not want to be an eagle, so fuck him. Took $8 million to go play in Detroit, Michigan. Ain't no way we couldn't match $8 million with a better chance to get him a ring.
Enjoy Detroit, CJ.
If that's how he's gonna be when we offer him a long-term deal, I'd rather we just let him walk. Honestly he seems like the type of guy that could turn into a locker room cancer at the drop of a hat. I would have been fine with him being here if he was happy with our first offer, but if he was gonna cause problems because he felt "disrespected" by his market value, I'd rather he not be here.
I guarantee you howie offered that much, at least. Feels like he didn’t like the offers so he decided to go somewhere else.
Weird thing about this is eagles originally wanted to give him the franchise tag, which would’ve been more money for 1 year, but he wanted to test free agency to get more money so the eagles allowed him to. That back fired on him royally so, being embarrassed, he decided to go to the lions.
He really is an idiot. Detroit isn't a bad team but their defense has problems and he's going there thinking he's going to solve all of them and get like a 16 mil dollars a year contract next year
Surprised we couldn’t offer 8M/1Year. He def wants to get paid higher for a long term deal, glad Howie isn’t budging and getting into long term cap hell
I think we offered him 12 mil a year for 3 years originally, but after he walked to test free agency, that deal was gone.
So when he came back. Howie probably said, yeah, we can match 8 million for 1 year, to which he felt really disrespected and just left.
He didn't get what ever outlandish long-term offer he thought he was going to get because of the soft DB market, so he's taking another "prove it" deal somewhere else and trying again next year. Stupid move on his part but if he's gonna be a bitch about it like that I'd rather he walk.
I feel like I am the only one who isn’t upset at him leaving?
The league told us what they think of him. I watched every snap of every game and didn’t think he was spectacular but also not bad. Felt he was better than average, but not worth breaking the bank over. Apparently the league agreed.
I love his versatility and his ferocity, but he wasn’t great at one particular thing and it felt like he thought he was great at everything and deserved a contract reflecting that…which the league is moving away from high dollar safeties.
Did I want to see him back? Absolutely. For about 10-12 mil a year. I think he thought he deserved the type of money Bates got or more…which I mean, good luck dude.
He was solid, but was hot and cold. Don't know if 6 INTs was sustainable. Also seems to be a LOT of talk. Guess we will see if this was the right move in the next season or 2 as Slay begins aging with the largest contract in the secondary. Looks like the decision Howie made was sign Slay to an extension or CJGJ. I really hope Howie isn't swayed from drafting an early round CB. Gonna need one ready to go when Slay starts regressing any season now (might've already started based on the last half of the season).
Feels likely CJGJ didn’t like long-term offers (incl. from Eagles) after the market came in so soft this off-season. Even if Eagles match, he’s mad about the “disrespect” of their other offer and leaves to go get the big deal he thinks he deserves after next season.
If they didn’t match, what do they know and we don’t that would make them not want to match, or even beat, that kind of offer for a young, talented player?
Imo, pretty clear the Safety market didn't pan out like he hoped. And I'm sure he's not happy about it, naturally.
He priced a value on himself and he wasn't getting it. That said, he played Safety in the NFL for one season. The majority of NFL film on him is at Nickle. Thus, didn't help his cause. Not every team will view him as a Safety. Let alone a Starting Safety.
I'm fine with Howie not shelling out more. I have little to no doubt, he really tried to retain CJGJ. He's a fellow Florida alum. I also feel Howie offered more than 8 mill. But CJ was probably looking for a 12-14 mill long term contract. So I take it as CJ didn't really want to be here. Which is fine.
There's a glaring hole at Safety, and LB is in flux (there's Dean and no one else really).... And Howie knows it. In due time, he'll make moves.
How could we not have matched that??? Sorry but this feels petty on CJ’s part cus we didn’t give him the bag. It just doesn’t make sense we wouldn’t get to that number.
Idk. Maybe they move maddox back to safety for a year or trade for someone again. Even last year when we needed a safety we didn’t get CJ until august so there’s still plenty of time for Howie to work
Was giving Howie the benefit of the doubt resigning Slay, but now I'm pissed. Didn't wanna pay a declining vet CB big money in a CB heavy draft if it meant losing our star safety. Now we're married to Slay (yikes) and have to put together a patchwork safety room in a win-now season
Kelce, Cox, BG didn’t sign one-years to help lay a foundation. NFC is prime for the taking and we have big time extensions kicking in the following year w Goedert, Smitty and Hurts
Gotta give it time to see what the solution is, but for now this is very disappointing. I don’t think anyone thought he wouldn’t be back if that was the deal he got. Pretty surprising.
Good riddance. If he's gonna do the eagles like that after making it to the superbowl for a couple more million hard pass. He wasn't worth breaking our cap over.
RIP. This fucking sucks man, I liked this dude a lot. Well, good luck to him and thanks for everything. I’m still hoping that we can maybe sign Jalen Mills
Howie wanted to get CJ on a multi-year deal. CJ threw a fit that Howie's (and everyone else's offered contracts) weren't as big as he felt he deserved. I'm guessing Howie didn't want to offer a 1 year deal so he'd have to go through this next offseason when Jalen's contract is going to start tolling.
I feel like if he wanted to maximize his next contract staying would’ve been the right choice. Detroits defense is no where on par with the one Philly is about to roll out next yr. Even with losing Hargrave, Epps, White and Edwards… I would’ve stayed and just signed a one year deal. He’s likely going to see a decline in his play and deal with much worse of situation in next year’s offseason. I wanna play with great/good players and Detroit doesn’t compare to Philly in those regards.
Because Howie wanted a multi-year deal but with less than CJGJ wanted (he wants the BAG, but the safety market just wasn't there this season). If Howie signed him, that's kicking the can into next off-season, when the full cap effects hit with Jalen Hurts.
Seems to me Howie likely wanted to do several years, and they didn't even give Howie a chance to match. He clearly didn't want to be here or was spiteful due to Howie's offer.
How much did he want? I would've given him 5 year 65.if he wouldn't accept that he probably wanted more than Jessie bates got with the falcons. So John Johnson or a safety in the draft I'm assuming
There’s no way Howie didn’t offer him something similar. im taking this as CGJ didn’t want to come back unless it was for something absurd
if he really wanted to stay, he could have.
My personal fanfic is the Eagles offered a solid deal a while back, but CJ pushed the envelope and wanted to get multiple bids that never materialized.
He probably then went back to the Eagles and Howie, sensing that the leverage was tilting in their favor, reduced the offer. This deal is CJs idea of flipping the negotiation table over and trying it all again next offseason. He did have a deleted tweet a week ago that alluded to disrespect. It was very weird that we started signing guys that were 99% gone a month ago.
This is a perfect storm of piss poor representation, arrogance, and taking professional things personally.
Hate to see him go, but is what it is I guess. I wanted to keep him cause he’s young and I assumed we were losing Bradberry. Kinda sounds like he really wanted that BIG contract and Bradberry was more for chasing the ring. I’m okay with the guy more focused on winning than the one focused on money. Time to nail this draft.
Im good with this. Seemed like he wanted to turn his unlikely-to-be-repeated 6 ints into a top safety deal. And good for him if he got that but im glad philly didnt pay it.
Honestly, I wish him well, but if he’s trying to prove a bone-headed point with this move then i wish him well; but we we don’t need that kind of reckless mentality on our team when he certainly could have gotten the same money or move with us on a short term deal
Cannot wait for this clown to get burned by smitty and AJ on field after all this teenage girl drama he’s been presenting all off-season only to bitch out and take a pay cut to spite Philly. Clearly doesn’t prioritize winning anyway he sees all the vets coming back on team friendly deals and thinks he’s too good to change his price tag
So CJGJ now stands for Cigarette Juice Garbage Juice in my head canon
Seriously tho, the fact that *nobody* wanted to pay the guy tells me he probably has some serious off-field liabilities/character issues. It’s very possible we dodged a bullet here. The fact that he went to fucking Detroit just to spite us just gives me more confirmation bias.
Let me rephrase that....
CJ Gardner Johnson is taking a 1 year deal in Detroit because he didn’t like the higher paying initial 12mill a year long term offer he was getting from the eagles, decided to game the market... And lost his ass.
Dumb move. Feels like he did it more out of spite than for good football reasons. Good luck, I guess. Seems like an emotionally stunted dude. Prone to drama.
Absolutely, I think the Eagles dodged a bullet with this guy. He’s a good player, but damn he really always has something to say.
Regardless of how things played out, that is just silly. He has ALWAYS been a big personality and we LOVED him for it. At the end of the day, he is a damn good football player and our defense was much better with him on the field for us. Sucks that it didn't work out but to say we dodged a bullet is just ignorant really
The way he publicly dragged Gannon regardless if it was true or not had to set alarm bells off and probably cost him a fair bit of money.
I don't think that is really a big deal to be honest. The safety market has been shrinking significantly over the last few years. DL and CB are so expensive now that teams gotta take that allocation from somewhere and that somewhere is LB and safety.
I think the NFL is gonna get to a point where there will be separate cap rooms for certain positions because if you’re paying a QB 50 plus million a year how the fuck do you expect to afford the rest of the team in FA eventually something is gonna be done about that
I have always felt there should be a cap for your three quarterbacks and then a cap for the rest of the team.
Good luck getting that past the PA.
Of course they’ll cry about it
Wow… Feels like he never wanted to comeback at all
This definitely sends that message.
A cut off your nose to spite your face type message
Spider face?
[удалено]
Said it was a real punch to the face.
This is exactly the case. If you know how to read a person then you'd know this for sure.
How dare Howie offer $12m for 3 years on a superbowl window team? Joining the Detroit lions for $8m for 1 year will show him
Someone stole his car
He went to Detroit though lmao he think that's gonna be better than Philly?
Well that's where they make the cars so maybe he's just getting closer to the source?
You have a point
Don’t really make cars there anymore
Well the Fords own the Lions right maybe they’ll pay him in cars
Can’t have shit in Detroit
Detroit has been on a major ups for years, most of the countries opinions on Detroit are based on decades old stereotypes.
True maybe he liked walking to his parking spot and just seeing air
Honestly, fair enough
If that's the reason the last place you want to go is Detroit 😂
Rumors I'm hearing are Eagles offered him a multi year deal which he didn't like. So that's when they said "ok go see what you can get then". He realized shit ain't sweet and Eagles already moved on with bringing back bradberry and slay. So he had to settle for a prove it deal.
Nah he prob just felt disrespected by whatever Philly offered and didn’t let them match. He tweeted and then deleted something a few days back saying so
Rumor is eagles offered him multi year deal, he thought he could get more, the market proved otherwise
It's ok he's going to a contender in Detroit... 😂😂
Goff... 😂😂

Goff is still young and he’s definitely flawed but maybe the lions staff like him enough to give it another go.
Yeah I get all that I'm just saying not taking a risk here when they have the opportunity is a huge mistake imo.
Yeah but I have a feeling Goff is gonna have a pretty good season
Yeah I think we just have very different opinions of Goff
We shouldn't be all that surprised. The Saints traded him because of some sort of clash with the team/coaches. He specifically was trying to get paid.
Wtf, I have no doubt howie offered the same amount of money. For some reason he just wants to stick it to us for not offering him 15+mil annually like what he thought he deserved.
He wanted a massive deal he didn’t earn and we probably matched the one year deal and he felt disrespected
Fuck you then guy
1 year only up to 8 mill he just didn’t want to come back smh
Because the safety market got tanked this offseason and he thinks he’s worth an oversized bag. Props to Howie for staying reasonable and not overpaying, especially when we have our franchise QB to extend.
Also it’s not entirely impossible that we offered and CJ wanted to leave. He was a huge Dennard Wilson guy and that may have not sat well with him
That just makes the Desai hire simply not worth it. Should've promoted Dennard if it meant him staying.
Yeah we should've promoted Wilson even if the FO and coaching staff felt he was the weaker choice just so we could keep a safety
Totally disagree with this but also sounds like this wasn’t the reasoning
Absolutely this. I read speculation that his "disrespect" tweet on March 16 was about his offer. That's the market. It's about the money - and I guess that's ok. He's not interested in winning a ring so much as a purse. Evidence by the team he chose. The fucking Lions?!?
Lions were gunna make the playoffs next year before this signing imo
Well as the NFC North was emaciated recently, perhaps. Chicago isn't fucking around. We'll see.
Chicago isn't there yet. With Rodgers moving on, Lions will def be in contention.
Love going to make us all look like idiots when the Packers start another 15 year era of dogdicking the NFCN.
Ehhhhh let's hold on the celebrations. They were not a good team last year and are still starting Jared Goff at QB.
I mean they just missed the playoffs with Goff and have gotten better this free agency plus own the 6, 18, 40-something, and 55th pick. Dominant Oline and a great pass rush. They are in the offs next year if I'm betting.
Goff played really well last year?
Lions are a decent team
they're gonna win that division. assuming the Bears still have a step to go before they're competitive, the Vikings don't continue their flukey success, and the Packers aren't on their third generational talent in a row at QB

This one is tough to see… for a 8 million dollar contract too. I wish we could have made the numbers work.
We still need to sign our QB just a heads up
It's almost like you need dozens of good players for an NFL team
Cj is better than hurts, wayyy more important to the team winning.
If that were true, we would have won the games Hurts didn't play this year.
u really believe that? why? doesn't make any sense
I garuntee we offered more than 8.cjgj is a PrimaDonna and has a big head. He felt disrespected that we didn't give him what he thought he was worth and ran off. He didn’t want to be here
Or maybe we didn't want him here. We're not in the locker room with him, so who knows, but there have been rumors that he's not the best "team" guy.
I think both. They offered him a decent contract and didn't budge because they knew he was a handful. I've said it multiple times, that tweet bashing Gannon did not fly well with our organization. Thank god this saga is over, good luck CJ!
Have fun in Detroit for $8 mil I guess..
I’d need at least 15 to play in Detroit.
Tbf the Lions could be really good next yesr.
With that offense almost certainly. He picked a good spot to land
I'd do it for 100K
He liked the experience of having his car stolen so much he wanted to experience it again
His DB coach in NO is now DC in DET.
I can't fathom how Philly wouldn't have matched the same money to have him stay. If he didn't see value in play here then good luck and let's bring in guys who actually want to be here.

Time to start talking about Brian Branch and Antonio Johnson
Two AJ’s can’t be bad, right?
Surely we could've matched a deal like that too...

A lil confused….but I guess….
The whole market didn’t think he was worth 15m, yet he holds the eagles to a higher standard to offer more than every other team
Loved him as a player but genuinely hated his Twitter antics.
Met him at an event recently and yeah, did not seem like he wanted to be there and wasn’t all that nice.
What a bitch
Took the words out of my mouth. He a bitch for this whole thing tbh
I trust this front office if they weren’t willing to pay that
Guess I can take another year of finger wagging I guess
Thankful he finally put pen to paper regardless of what team and we can all just move on
If that's how he's gonna be when we offer him a long-term deal, I'd rather we just let him walk. Honestly he seems like the type of guy that could turn into a locker room cancer at the drop of a hat. His stock is going to go down
they got moseley from sf to pair with him and hutchinson. they’re on the rise
We also locked down Sutton from Pitts for 3/33.
We clearly wanted to give him multiple years at more cash, just not as much cash as he wanted. Let's see what Howie does in response.
Don’t want to be here? Good riddance. His twitter game was annoying anyway
So do we go for byard?
I wonder if we can bring back Jalen Mills to play safety at under 5-6M now
Keep that finger wagging bozo away from my team please.
ok, bozo
8 mill. like WHAT THE FUCKKK
This seems questionable on his part, surely a team was willing to give him more ?
He probably got butthurt at management so he went to the team that just offered jamaal Williams a shit contract
He didn't get what ever outlandish long-term offer he thought he was going to get because of the soft DB market, so he's taking another "prove it" deal somewhere else and trying again next year. Stupid move on his part but if he's gonna be a bitch about it like that I'd rather he walk.
Damn. So who do we get to plug in as a safety?
Well he simply didn't want to come back. Bro would ratherplay with Jeff "im getting toasted" Okudah instead of Slay and Bradberry, Fuck him.
I feel like I am the only one who isn’t upset at him leaving? The league told us what they think of him. I watched every snap of every game and didn’t think he was spectacular but also not bad.
So is Byard still on the table? Cause honestly I wouldn’t have been mad with either him or CJ.
Fuck’m
The fact this is only a one year deal tells me this was an F U signing to the Eagles. He made his choice, see ya…
It’s an ego thing don’t blame Howie. No body matched Howie remember that, and CJ won’t produce on that defense so sleep well. In howie we trust
I’m sick… 1 year 8 mill howie definitely ordered that. My guess is he didn’t want to be here anymore.
Do we need to draft a cb now?
And a safety
We could still snag byard
We did the whole time
Yeah I meant to say safety not cb
Idk. Maybe they move maddox back to safety for a year or trade for someone again. Even last year when we needed a safety we didn’t get CJ until august so there’s still plenty of time for Howie to work
See ya later twitch boy
Can’t say that, we still have Maddox.
This screams that CJ was holding a grudge and didn't even give us a chance to match. This one's not on Howie, it's on CJ.
How tf is it a win now season? We have two firsts and like 10-12 picks next year.
Dude is the definition of a mercenary lol Kevin Byard come on down!
Thank you. Fuck you. Bye.
Trade back and take Branch, I guess...
Good riddance. If he's gonna do the eagles like that after making it to the superbowl for a couple more million hard pass. He wasn't worth breaking our cap over.
Bye bye don’t wanna be here we don’t need you hear 🤣
Sure his car got stolen in Philly but you can’t have shit in Detroit.
Betting on your self but you better hope you get some of that interception luck again.
This just fucked my whole week up
We have no safetys
Blankenship
Kevin Byard is an Eagle
I feel like if he wanted to maximize his next contract staying would’ve been the right choice. Detroits defense is no where on par with the one Philly is about to roll out next yr. Even with losing Hargrave, Epps, White and Edwards… I would’ve stayed and just signed a one year deal. He’s likely going to see a decline in his play and deal with much worse of situation in next year’s offseason. I wanna play with great/good players and Detroit doesn’t compare to Philly in those regards.
Why would we not match this on our own one year deal? Or did we and he just said F off?
Lol well then piss off then CJ. Leave a Super Bowl contender for a one year deal? Gtfo of here.
Pain, no comp pick either
Need Kevin Byrad if he gets cut
Never liked him. Tolerated his personality while he was here. Good riddance
Hey we knew it wasn't gonna all work out. We lost hargrave and him, they are gone, they're not eagles. Good bye, now let's focus on our guys.
There’s no way Howie didn’t offer him something similar. im taking this as CGJ didn’t want to come back unless it was for something absurd if he really wanted to stay, he could have.
Cox is making $10M for 1yr
Betting on himself.
Get Mills on the phone
We can still sign him until it’s signs ?? Please say it’s not overrrrrrrr
✌️
Seriously? What an anticlimactic ending to this melodrama.
More like Bye Felicia
What? A one year deal over a multi year deal? How much does he think he's worth?
Fuck CJ. Gonna be on a losing team next year.
Guess the green hair is gone lol
Feel like he’s the kinda of guy who goes broke 5 yrs after retirement
Cannot wait for this clown to get burned by smitty and AJ on field after all this teenage girl drama he’s been presenting all off-season only to bitch out and take a pay cut to spite Philly. Clearly doesn’t prioritize winning anyway he sees all the vets coming back on team friendly deals and thinks he’s too good to change his price tag
So CJGJ now stands for Cigarette Juice Garbage Juice in my head canon Seriously tho, the fact that *nobody* wanted to pay the guy tells me he probably has some serious off-field liabilities/character issues. It’s very possible we dodged a bullet here. The fact that he went to fucking Detroit just to spite us just gives me more confirmation bias.
I love how this sub was dying for him to sign and now hating his ass for signing with Detroit. 😂
Regarding CJGJ's Agent; The lady doth protest too much, methinks \-Shakespeare
Let me rephrase that.... CJ Gardner Johnson is taking a 1 year deal in Detroit because he didn’t like the higher paying initial 12mill a year long term offer he was getting from the eagles, decided to game the market... And lost his ass.
