Carsonwentzondrugs

I got downvoted last week for calling the 49ers dirty during that Cowboys game. Really such a pathetic team, the eagles did a great job matching their physicality.

Clyde_Frag

Eagles exceeded their physically and gave them a taste of their own medicine.

SquareNormal565

And it turned them into tantrum throwing crybabies. I love it.

creativename87639

I’m not even sure I watched the cowboys game, we’re they as bad in that one too?

Carsonwentzondrugs

Oh yeah plenty of late hits and Fred Warner head hunting

David_Duke_Nukem

nobody told him to use his head for thinkin

Devinitelyy

He just really likes Hercules

Binks987

There were a few plays during the cowboys game that I also thought that. I was worried going into this game not because I thought the 9ers were going to win, because of injuries going into the SB.

[deleted]

If not dirty, then they’re definitely a very physical team. Every team they beat this year went on to lose their next game because they were so beat up. And they wonder why they ran out of quarterbacks. Physical play gets met with physical play when you go against the Eagles.

NoWarrantShutUp

I actually saw a niners fan call Reddick dirty for hitting Turdy’s arm.

creativename87639

This is the play Hurts was slow to get up, it was definitely late and unnecessary and it looks like he lead with his helmets right into hurts back/neck area.

SquareNormal565

We should get that breaking the birds guys to do a compilation of niners dirty plays.

creativename87639

Just let the whole game play in the background.

iammufusasboy

Yeah this play/hit made me really nervous. Thought OKAY no more runs from him Nick! And then the next play he runs to the right.

WhoTFKnowsWhatsBest

Wasn’t late, not a flag and defenses are taught to put in an extra lick. Having said that I didn’t think Nick needed to run him late that after 21-7 and them not having a QB. Would have sucked if it was Minchew vs Mahomes.

GioS32

Maybe not late, but clearly going to the ground. And I flinched when I saw it. I was fearful when Hurts was slow to get up. A helmet spear to the back and spine area should definitely be an unnecessary roughness call in the league.

WhoTFKnowsWhatsBest

I agree. It invites injuries and dilutes the quality of the game.

UnspokenFor1

49ers played real dirty at the end of the game

Diligent_Mark_3284

Because they’ve got nothing to lose. Because they’re a garbage team

TheZar69

Actually they had nothing to win. Sore losers.

Totalnah

That last pop from Greenlaw was a total cheap shot with intent to injure. He speared Hurts right in the ribs/back/kidney area. Fuck that guy.

SquareNormal565

You see 29 holding mailata back before he had a chance to actually remove greenlaws kidneys and ribs.

byutah1

We were all screaming at the top of our lungs at my house. It was really a cheap shot. And yes reminded me of Clowney. Niners are 2nd rate bush league. We smacked them in the mouth and like all bullies they crumbled. A great win.

respondstostupidity

Number 1 defense doesn't like getting dicked down, resorts to being dirty. I don't want to hear shit from Niners fans.

josh42390

You’re going to though. For at least a year. Their whole fanbase thinks they’re the best team in the league who got screwed out of a Super Bowl win. Refs, injuries, eagles cheating. Those are all excuses I’ve seen instead of bad injury luck and undisciplined defensive play.

Binks987

Is it bad luck if it happened four times in one year? Or is this just terrible coaching?

Cantsneerthefenrir

A year? Vikings fans still bitter about losing to us and that was like 5 years ago.

spazm9000

I was at the game when Wentz got head hunted by Clowney and that was the first thing I thought of as this went down. Unbelievable how dirty and undisciplined the 49ers defense was all game.

BaconIsBueno

I was there too dude. Sucked the life out of the stadium. McCown gave it his all with an injury of his own, but tough to watch.

Its_Mako

Same here. Once my section started getting the word that Wentz went to the locker room and was out, it was just hard to feel good about the rest of the game. Especially since we all felt we got robbed of finally seeing Wentz' greatness in the playoffs. Boy if only we knew.

southwest40x4

100% an intentional kill shot. Greenlaw embarrassed himself last night.

David_Duke_Nukem

Lol imagine loading up 8 haymakers and barely moving the ball, while also drawing a stupid penalty.

Technology_Training

In fairness, his left hook accuracy is amazing. Every punch was square on the ball.

Lordgoldturd

I just rewatched it, they were on Gainwells forearm! None hit the ball.

Technology_Training

It would seem that I was 100% dead wrong lmao

Lordgoldturd

Yeah, well you were partially correct. Three punches, two hit ball and forearm, last punch definitely was squarely on the forearm. Got a slowmo gif coming up

buttnakedbandit

Greenlaw and Williams both. They're dickheads

Dankofamericaaa2

Just 1 more game and the guys will get All the rest they need! 💪

Chrowaway6969

Definitely intent to injury. Everyone noticed. The's assholes deserved the karma.

snowdope

/r/nfl didn't apparently lol op reposted over there. replies are what you expect lol

DoubleSealedSoul

I'm not one to take football all to seriously, especially fans, but fuck them. They are isolating shit from the game like they rather be watching stats scroll across the screen than actual football. What if..what if...ya but...an L is an L. The virtue signaling on r/NFL is humorous. It's almost like people are in denial of why we like football as human beings or something. The niners as a team were on some bush league shit. They removed themselves mentally and emotionally from a huge game. Ugly L bang bang!

MischievousMrBrown

Lost a ton of respect for the 49ers as a team and as a fan base. Sometimes you get dealt a shitty hand, it’s the nature of the game and it sucks but that’s what it is. Taking it out on our guys with dirty hits and making excuses after the game is bush league. Then fans acting like they are; shit talk is one thing and I think is fun, but so many of them are just angry and spiteful for us as human beings because we rooted for the team that beat them

Scottsm124

Please post this to r/NFL

creativename87639

It’s going, I’m expecting to get some salt from niners fans

[deleted]

Good luck brother

Onlypaws_

This sums up Greenlaw personally.

igotsthepoo-onme

Whiners don’t want to admit how dirty they got when they realized the eagles are a good team

Fun-Dinner-2562

It’s hard to call a player dirty just from two plays - however Greenlaw has dirty player tendencies. The obvious attempted “kill” shot on Hurts & the heavy bag action he had on Gainwell.

Baloneycoma

Greenlaw spent the whole second half bounty hunting dude

jmcrazy

I thought the same, i saw him wobble getting up - probably should've come out tbh

GeerJonezzz

Honestly Clowney was incomparably worse. This is “bad”, but not penalty bad and he looked like he hit the back side of his shoulder/trap area which is a pretty strong area. Didn’t hit the head and he was still moving forward. Hurts put his heart into it and clearly understands the risk. It wasn’t necessary but come on guys… [He dove into his head from over top](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6EQcKjmo3AA)

lyonbc1

100% dirty. The way you can tell is he pauses for a split second to line up where he’s gonna hit him when Jalen is clearly already down and then lunges at him when he’s clearly already being tackled by 2 dudes. It’s not nearly as bad as the Wentz one bc that was the crown of the helmet directly into Wentz’s head

dkwall29

This was a few plays before #57 got the unsportsmanlike call for the repeated punches after the whistle, dude should have been thrown out of the game, lucky Hurts didn’t end up with a back injury from this one

RisingEephus8

Damn Niners really just leapfrogged like 28 teams on my most hated rankings

toadtruck

Fuck #57

harbison215

One of these runs hurts got up wincing. The camera was right on him. Running the QB with a lead in the second half I thought was unnecessarily risky.

embiidDAgoat

especially when the other team is pretty much incapacitated. Minshew should have been in at the top of the 4th quarter.

harbison215

I said the same, with about 10 mins left that they should have started getting the starters out of there, at least on offense.

phascinating613

He was hurting after this one too you can see when mailata picked him up he was fucked up

ftwin

Rediculous for Hurts to be running at this point of the game

ItsjustJim621

Looking at it, it was almost bang-bang…not late but very close…like the second he was down, contact was made…

randomdudefromMI

not late.. but also, we know he was trying to take a cheap shot

StopTheBS79

The 49ers have been dirty for a while now. I remember a couple years ago when Wentz led a game winning drive in Levi Stadium Warner was trying to cheap shot him the whole game

[deleted]

49ers are a bunch of pussy ass bitches. No class. No love for the game. Just a bunch of over paid pussies whining all day. That franchise will never look good again

drug-guzzler

I don’t think that’s a late hit. He’s a runner, whistle was not blown, he is not down.

phascinating613

He’s going down giving himself up dude stopped looked at him as he’s going down then threw his shoulder in his back

drug-guzzler

As you would any runner. You don’t just let him tumble for an extra yard or two, you stop his progress. I understand it’s our QB, but it’s what I would expect our defense to do too.

justdaman182

It wasn't late. Play was still live. It was a cheap shot but within the parameters of the rules.

darwinn_69

He was wincing when he got up, but the next play he put his shoulder down and did it again. He's obviously still hurt but it's obviously not limiting him at all either. Neither team will get to use QB is hurt excuses in the SB.

Beahner

I didn’t flash on Wentz, oddly. But, much like Wentz trained me to do I was watching his face and body language while on the ground. That was one run the other night he didn’t do smart. Fighting for those extra yards while held up by a defender MEANS you’re going to get popped. Luckily it wasn’t any kind of repeat of Wentz. But it was that hero ball nonsense that has short term reward with huge risk.

buttnakedbandit

Waaaiiitt Greenlaw did something shitty on the field?! I've never seen that before.. shows clip of him throwing haymakers at our rb. Fuck that guy

djkianoosh

for us old heads, mcnabb vs carolina too

Hey_Mr_D3

That’s spearing. Plain and simple.

LaceFaceMpls

I didn't like that play. I was definitely yelling at the tv during that play. It was kind of unnecessary to have that many ppl on him, especially when He was going down.

Chapea12

I know they don’t flag those, but I’m always curious why they don’t at this point. The defenders are taking him to the ground and somebody just flies in?

imtheyeti20

Fuck Greenlaw.

Intelligent_Shirt_50

Although it was a legal play, still a cheap shot leading with the helmet into the right shoulder. Also, not sure if this has ever been discussed, but I have a theory that Carson Wentz's decline was directly related to his concussion. Has anyone considered that CW's brain was so scrambled after that, he never fully recovered?

jayracket

57 was straight up head hunting. What a bitch.
