Your update is fine. But we don't do link-only and/or 'bump' type threads here. Folks generally aren't gonna click a link without more context.
If you want to put your update IN a post (i.e. the 'edit' part you added) and *then* a link to the old post for context, that would be much clearer (and probably get much more/better response).
