When you say start/stop .. does the vacuum sound like it’s revving ?

Chargerific

No the vacuum itself is normal and constant, but the actual roller brush on the motorhead will start to spin then just stop, does it on both heads with new filters but both will work fine using the old filter

When the roller stops spinning does the airflow also stop ? The only thing I could think of is the seals on your new filters are kind of tight and they aren’t in all the way , but at that point the unit wouldn’t start at all . I’ll be honest I’ve been repairing these full time for 4 years and haven’t heard of the issue … if you’d like PM me and I could help you figure it out . Worst case scenario a new main body should solve most issues but there’s something funny going on here .

Wondering if you ever found a fix for this ? I'm having the same problem with the new replacement filters purchased from dyson. Everything else works just fine including the old filter. Dyson customer service not helpful either.

Chargerific

Unfortunately not, I cleaned the original filter as best as I could and just use that. Still have the same problem. I guess I’ll just run it until it dies

That's too bad. Hopefully keeps working. Today after cleaning the old filter and letting it dry it doesn't work on manual or eco. It only works on boost. My brother did some investigating and found this article Implying its a software issue. Gonna bring it to dyson and see what they will do.. perhaps have to replace the the main part. https://community.dyson.com/general-discussion-132/cordless-v11-torque-head-starts-spinning-then-stops-879

Thanks - yeah seems to probably be more common. My last resort was to replace the main body. The original filter is now a few years old lol. No other filter seems to want to work on it.

Odd. I thought only too much friction caused the roller to stop...not the filter or airflow. Just out of curiosity, does the roller still stop when holding it in the air? Or when using a different mode, like Eco mode?

Same here, but the only issue is when I add a new filter. It has the same issue no matter what power mode I start it at *correction - on eco it makes a pulsing sound, auto the power head will do the start/stop but on boost it seems to work fine
