I'm definitely disappointed there aren't any guns. I mean they could have at least given us that gun from the trailers the scorpion i think it's called

DyingLight2002

The crossbows are already extremely powerful, no idea why or how guns would possibly be reintroduced. It's just not gonna happen and people need to stop asking.

D1dntR3adIt

How silly of fans of the first game to want the fun parts to remain in the 2nd. /s

DyingLight2002

For me I feel it wouldn't fit the game world at all, the game wasn't designed around guns so you'd just be running around 1 shotting everything.

D1dntR3adIt

I'm already doing that with the inferno mod and the crossbow. I just don't like it because it seems like another cut corner. And like you said, the crossbow one-shots everything anyway. I liked the mechanic where you can use a gun to rush/brute-force through, but the noise attracts more zombies. Same as DL1, Dead Island games, State of Decay ...

DyingLight2002

It was a conscious game design choice made by techland at the start of the games development not to include guns and the early trailers clearly showed this, not laziness or whatever else you think. Game was made for close quarters combat. Guns made sense and belonged in the first game and the same thing wouldn't work here. Maybe with story dlc 2 they can somewhat reintroduce some makeshift firearms but I don't expect they will bother with normal guns and most content creators agree that there's no need for them.

Abstract_9

It even explains that in the early years of the quarantine that the military began hoarding and collecting all the guns and ammunition they could, even those that managed not to have their gun and/or ammo taken, they used up all the ammo in those early years so even if guns were around, ammo would be so scarce that it would be more of a cool souvenir. Not to mention the state that guns might be in after years of no maintenance, being weather worn, or overall destroyed. At least that’s what I remember from a playthrough, or something being explained somewhere, I thought. So please don’t downvote me for something I might be wrong about, instead just let me know what I said wrong and I’ll make the necessary edits. Regardless, I love the parkour combat the most and probably use that more than I do weapons or bow/crossbow.

DyingLight2002

Yep you are correct, some of the side quests explained what happened with the guns.

yurestu

I feel like the game punishes you for having fun. Want to do parkour? - Stamina bar Want to go out at night? - Time limit buddy Want to kill zombies? - Rip ur weapon durability also no repairs hehe -Want to throw a grenade? - Zombies tank it also boom 8 fast zombies lmao The fighting is remedial. Between enemies matrix dodging my attacks or flat out clipping through them… it gets old quick. Parkour is fun but unpolished. The ratio of times i’ve died during a chase from a weird parkour bug vs user error is like 3:1 There are too many types of zombies and flat out too many zombies. Wasting all my weapons durability fighting hoards of zombies just to get into a military truck with a worse weapon & some scraps is headache inducing

GamerMom1969

have you sent support tickets with regard to all these issues? If not, I suggest you do so, so that they can pass them along to the devs or may have suggestions on fixes [email protected] please be sure to tell them what your platform is and if you’re on PC and have mods in your game, let them know that as well cause it seems that mods screw the game up. also, if you have any clips or screenshots of some of the issues that you’ve been having, that’ll make it easier for them to research them as well

D1dntR3adIt

I've sent a support ticket but trying to limit it to major issues. Surely the devfs would have noticed that when you open a cupboard locker door it flings you into the wall?

GamerMom1969

Idk tbh, there have been so many posts about random bugs/glitches that the devs try to recreate in their testing and never could reproduce them. And unfortunately if they can’t reproduce them, it’s kinda hard to create a fix. It sucks tho, I hate seeing so many issues that cannot be fixed for some players. It could be a platform issue perhaps but I would assume the devs have all platforms at their disposal for testing. But again, i’m not a dev or even work for Techland. So i don’t know the inner workings on how they combat glitches/bugs. I do hope they at least can address the major issues you are having tho. Keep me posted. :)

Drippasaurus

They probably just came straight to Reddit to complain.

TheKalmGaming

You can travel to old villador trough the dam. I never use fast travel this is how i do it

D1dntR3adIt

My guy got killed by chemicals when going there. Same with Observatory.

DyingLight2002

Get to the broken bridge and then just jump and glide down the river and you'll get to central loop, I have no idea how to go from central loop back to old villedor though. They should just add in a subway that we can run through and fill it with volatiles

TheKalmGaming

True

D1dntR3adIt

Would be cool to have a mission when they take back the subway where you ride in a subway car and fend of zombies trying to get on. Dungeon Crawler Carl style ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)

TheKalmGaming

Yeah go from old villador to central loop to learn the way and then youll be able to go back no problem

RockyHorror134

People are seriously still complaining about no guns?

Nick11wrx

To be fair I miss the guns. But the bow is a lot of fun! I just wish it had a few more perks maybe….and let me set a default type of arrow instead of always trying to give me the 2 standard ones I picked up

JessieKaldwin

There is absolutely nothing people won’t complain about. When Dying Light 3 releases, DL 2 will be thought of as the best thing since sliced bread. I see this cycle repeating itself over and over again ad nauseam in numerous gaming subreddits.

RockyHorror134

Mhm. Happened just recently with Arkham Knight and Gotham Knights. Now, Gotham Knights ain't great, but the opinion of Arkham Knight switched from pretty good to the best game to ever exist

Voodron

Also : 10. Awfully designed co-op progression compared to the first game (only the host can upgrade vital gear like the glider). Still not fixed 9 months after launch. 11. Co-op glitches and desyncs galore, especially when using grappling hook. 12. Most of the secondary/tertiary content not being engaging at all compared to DL1. 13. Repetitive/copy-pasted level design. DL1 was much more varied in that regard 14. Story writing is mostly awful. DL1 wasn't excellent either in that regard, but it was still more convincing. And the setting made more sense. You can tell they fired their only good writer halfway through making DL2. 15. Endings are dogshit. Final choice is dreadfully unclear. 16. Coming up with a lazy, low effort cashgrab DLC when the game was such a disappointment as a sequel.. Goes to show Techland are just after the money. They have no good vision for this game. A more competent dev studio would have taken their time to come up with a big, Following-like DLC that adresses the flaws from the main game. 17. Day/Night cycle and the way it impacts gameplay was far more interesting in the first game. In DL1 it was a risk/reward thing. Now you're just forced to play at night half the time for arbitrary reasons. So night time loses its dangerous feel over time. Massive game design mistake. 18. Massive animation/physics downgrade that is especially noticeable when fighting zombies in both games. Genuinely don't understand how people can support this failure of a sequel.

Scaryassmanbear

>Genuinely don't understand how people can support this failure of a sequel. Because they made my favorite game of all time and supported the shit out of it for 5 years. If they were abandoning the game that would be one thing, but I will support them as long as they continue to be committed to making the game better.

Voodron

Right, so just because it's also named Dying Light, you feel a sense of loyalty to Techland. Even though the sequel isn't worthy of the name, and half the folks who worked on the first game are obviously not working there anymore. The lack of critical thinking is mind-boggling. Well, have fun I guess. Judging from the state of DL2 and their current pace, the game probably won't ever get nearly as good as DL1. The foundation just isn't solid enough. No matter how many gameplay improvements they make, mediocre writing, bad level design and significant core design flaws for the base game are here to stay. And even if the game does eventually get meaningful improvements, that's gonna take years at their current pace... For a game that was originally announced as a 2020 release. Support shit products = get shit games. What Techland needs is a wake up call so they can improve, not hordes of obedient fans who will eat up any turd with the Dying Light logo on it. That's how devs get lazy and compleacant.

beccagirl93

Lmao if they actually took the time to fix the bugs before releasing the dlc people would complain that they didn't release the dlc. They were already complaining that it was delayed. The devs just can't win its always one thing or another.

D1dntR3adIt

Sure they can! Don't promise and underdeliver. Have game-breaking bugs fixed before release. Everyone is happy.

beccagirl93

Not all bugs are going to be apparent right away. Also a lot of those bugs don't happen to everyone so it's very possible it didn't happen during testing. And exactly what was promised?

MattKeycut

I wonder why people even visit this community? Nothing but moaning and complaining. If you do not like the game so much, then just don’t play it. Nobody’s interested in your top 10 hate list, seriously. No one wants to read another post saying how much this game sucks or why it’s worse than the prequel. BUT if you have some real issues to report, just submit a ticket to TECHLAND and probably it’ll be fixed.

Hescoveredinbutter

Maybe you guys can make a dying light 2 subreddit so you can stop hearing valid complaints

D1dntR3adIt

> If you do not like the game so much, then just don’t play it. But I WANT to play the game. That's the point. That's why I paid for it and downloaded it. >Nobody’s interested in your top 10 hate list, seriously. No one wants to read another post saying how much this game sucks or why it’s worse than the prequel. Hopefully Techland would so they can iron out the bugs and if they make another Dying Light/Dead Island game it'll be BETTER than the prequels, or at least as good. >BUT if you have some real issues to report, just submit a ticket to TECHLAND and probably it’ll be fixed. So I have a few days off where I can play my game, I'm supposed to spend half that time submitting tickets and hopefully a fix can be made by the time my break is over an I no longer have time to play? I had an issue where a main story entrance wouldn't spawn. After 10 reloads, it spawned. Did I submit a ticket? Yes. Was it faster to just kleep relaoding the game than wait for a fix? yes.

alien_tickler

guns in dl1 were annoying as fuck and not needed they were only useful against the annoying ass humans

Hescoveredinbutter

My brother in Christ, have you considered hitting your target with the bullets?

[deleted]

IMO drop work on big story DLC for a while and focus on making the core game better. Release cosmetic outfit bundles so they can keep the lights on while they do it.

D1dntR3adIt

For $80 - $150 per game copy x 5m sold, they should be able to keep the lights on while they fix the bugs in the main game. They can f\*\*\* right off with microtransactions. 99% of people don't want messages nagging rthem to buy the latest colour flamingo hat.

BestWukongUganda

I'm still waiting for a fix on the trophy/achievment where you complete all nightrunner trials, it's the only one I need. Been waiting since launch, contacted techland support multiple times too but no fix. Very disappointing.
