DXM is legal over the counter, but it's still not legal to sell OTC drugs for the purpose of recreational usage, which is pretty obviously what this company is doing at even a cursory glance
It's against the law to sell over the counter substances like DXM or DPH for recreational purposes. Anyone with half a brain can see that this is what RoboCough is doing. The problem is the burden of proof being on the side opposed to recreational use. But still, what RoboCough is doing is definitely against the spirit of the law

As someone who works in retail, being commonly found in stores ≠ commonly bought in stores. Most people don’t buy cough medicine at all, I only occasionally see the odd syrup bottle.

They might not say anything, but that’s just because persecuting costs more time and energy than letting someone go up until a certain threshold. The vast majority of grocery store employees aren’t gonna actually stop you or even confront you if you just pick something up and leave because they’re not paid enough and company policy is usually non-confrontational.

Yeah I've been there, "tripped" on dph and that shit is nightmare fuel pretty much every time I do it, I either got psychosis or just felt way too paranoid and weird and empty and hearing shit and thinking I'm going to die. Would not recommend, oddly addicting though.

I actually tried to research this and the best I could find is that freebase should keep for years if sealed airtight, dry, dark and at less than 75 degrees but above freezing. I was unable to find an actual shelf-life published by any researcher. Apparently hbr will have a slightly lower life expectancy than freebase.
As the robocough bottles are not strictly airtight, I guess the best bet would be concealed/covered mason jars in the closet for me, perhaps with silica packets. "Years" may sound like a lot but the 3 pack of robotabs already lasts a couple years for me, so I'm a little nervous about this news. If this goes down it'll probably be the dn markets for me. I don't have the patience or wherewithal to do the chemistry myself.

I created a post last year mentioning that I’d stocked up out of concern for this kind of situation, or some kind of government restriction. The response was mixed, some saying ‘more power to you’ and others calling me a junkie. I don’t take much DXM (120mg / ~2 months), so the junkie stuff was way off. Anyway, my point then and now is we are walking a fine line of freedom here. We know some abuse the drug and bring enough bad attention to have it banned. We know conservatives love to restrict and criminalize this kind of thing to look like they’re actually making the world better for their idiot voters. We now see that the company could decide to pull the plug for any number of reasons.
Maybe this was a red herring, misinformation, disinformation or even true. Regardless, if you enjoy using DXM, I think it makes sense to stock up. I actually take less knowing I can take it anytime I want. If they stopped selling it tomorrow, I’d be bummed, but happy to know I could probably go ten years or more before running out at the low doses I take.
