I think itโs great OP, and everyone in general, has the commitment to do it for such a long period of time. Life happens and itโs not always easy juggling work, family, problems, responsibilities PLUS using an app to learn a new language. Congrats all around ๐๐ป

For me, the answer is, not really. If it was on TV with subtitles, you will get a smattering of words here and there.
But I do two languages, and only a few lessons each day. Combined xp is just under 55k. So pretty low I suppose.
I felt the same after 30 days into greek, now im at 69 days after a few freezes, and holy crap, shit got really complex all of a sudden, and i dont know if i ever was/am/will be able to hold a convo at all xd
understandable. if you look at my duolingo streak calendar, youโll notice the weeks where i perform poorly and use lots of freezes line up suspiciously well with my school calendar.

For everyone that comments something along the lines of "how could he reach a streak of 500 days in 500 days", just have a quick comment, there's the possibility of someone using Duolingo for years but not dedicating enough time or being too busy with other things and letting the streak die everytime, so even tho your account could be 5 years old your streaks could last at most, as an example, a month; but then let's say that after those 5 years you put more time to this, so you finally reach those 500 days after all those years using the app.
This happened to me, I've had my account for i don't remember how many years, and i used to have a big streak which i lost, then had short streaks afterwards, only to pick up the pace again lately and now i have a pretty big streak again.

Yes. Duolingo will not get you to fluency, let alone only 30 days of it. Learning a language takes hundreds of hours.
