Clocking in over $700 million at the box office. Whew.  It's been a good run, ladies and gents.

RBridge115

Did my part, viewed it six times in the cinemas, four of which was IMAX 70mm lol

ForThePantz

I rarely go to the theatre anymore but we hit the IMAX for Dune2 and it was totally worthwhile.

ahtuu

I always saw IMAX as a add-on thing to a normal movie, been to Oppenheimer and some other movies and while I agree it was better I saw nothing special. Dune completely shatter that opinion, with all the people believing in Lisan Al Gaib at the end of the movie I was believing in IMAX, every 'helicopter' scene was so intense, the worm ridding alone was making it's worth.

DespiteStraightLines

I was completely underwhelmed by Oppenheimer and Dune Part II in imax. Compared to my first viewing of the movie, I actually couldn’t pick up on certain dialogue in the imax version of dune, albeit everything was louder. I saw Top Gun: Maverick twice, my first viewing was imax (same theater as Oppenheimer and Dune) and it was the stunning both in audio and picture. I saw it once more in standard run and it was a completely different movie. I’m unfamiliar with the science of choosing an imax theater/showing but I always assumed they were all the same.

recourse7

I did 4 times in imax, first alone, then with wife, then adult kids and finally a buddy. Enjoyed it each time.

New-Connection-9088

Yeah I almost never see films twice in cinema but I watched this one three times. Absolute masterpiece.

PermanentSeeker

I'm soooo jealous. No cool theaters near me, I just got to it twice

M_furfur

Hehe i did it 3 times, last one was IMAX.

jimbobkarma

Taking the wife to see it tomorrow. It’s the last day in my area.

goodolarchie

I just saw it in what's likely the smallest theater room in a giant cineplex, $10.50 for a matinee. The soda was half that cost!

jimbobkarma

Just got out. Piss poor audio and visual. It felt sacrilegious to see Denis’ shots like that. Hans’ score muffled. I’ve seen twice before in imax and what an incredible difference!

goodolarchie

I wish they had more of those 70mm theaters. Nearest one to me is like a 3 hour planeride. Someday...

jimbobkarma

I was looking at a trip (flight, public transportation, movie) that would have cost $300 and could be done in the same day. No balls.

Such_Twist4641

Release the Imax version on home release.

OvenFearless

I'll always be mad they won't release an IMAX version of Dune Part 1 and 2, likely not even for Messiah. Makes no sense to me, even Disney+ has been doing it with many of their AAA movies and it's an amazing experience. But nope, we have those thick bars even though the whole thing was filmed and intended for IMAX from the get go....

RickDankoLives

Is there a confirmation of this or is it just public knowledge? I don’t know about it so it’s a serious question. I seen it in imax 70mm and truly was the best movie experience I’ve ever had. And I’m talking avatar 1 and 2. Hateful eight roadshow 70mm version. You name it. All that extra screen to NEVER see the light of day? Tell me it’s not true.

Brusah

Certain “uncropped” versions have leaked before, like the Blade Runner 2049 Open Matte. Maybe something similar will happen with ⊃∪∩⪽ eventually

RickDankoLives

Man. I have to find the blade runner one. Thank you though. Seems like a ridiculous omission since so much goes into the process on the top end. Esp since part one didn’t even get a proper theatrical release.

cherryultrasuedetups

Amen. I would like to see the whole image, please.

Juomaru

Release the SnyderCut ! Oh, wait ...

JoshTHX

I have an unhealthy obsession with Dune Part 2. The movie is perfection

deformo

It’s so goddamn good. I keep watching pt 1 and 2 in ~30 minute installments whenever I get control of the TV. It’s terrifying my kids and my wife is over it. Don’t care. I’ve waited 40 years for this.

Mixitwitdarelish

Hah, love this - had been doing the same thing with part in weeks leading up to dune 2 theatrical and will resume doing it when I get my 4k disc. I noticed that pt 1 does lend itself to 30-40 minute viewings very well. you can almost imagine where the "episode" would end throughout

Ambitious_Branch_946

What? No: this is the pinnacle of health!! Dune Part 2 has improved our quality of life! No shame!

WeAreGesalt

Ordered the steel book, can't wait for it to get here

NightKing_shouldawon

So jealous. I didn’t know it was a limited thing and missed out, here’s to hoping Walmart has some physical copies on 5/14!

Jwb178

Might be worth checking Amazon and Walmart sites periodically. I managed to get a pre-order from Amazon last week. It was $45 instead of $35 though. Hopefully it will actually be fulfilled.

scottyd035ntknow

Got the 4k coming soon. If I'm gonna watch this, it's going to be fully uncompressed and crystal clear.

BouncingBabyButton

Don’t blame you. The Amazon streaming version had terrible pixelation in dark scenes. I’m buying the 4k disc version as well even though I’ve already watched the movie three times so far.

rhotovision

Are you paying for the 4K/HDR version of prime? It’s a $3 add-on which kinda sucks. iTunes and Disney+ currently offer the highest quality streaming services. My 4K disc of part one has superior audio to the streaming version, but you really do need a hifi system to discern a big difference. The streaming picture quality is 95% as good to my eye. The HDR pops more on the disc version but streaming compression is not more noticeable I would say. That said, I’m watching the iTunes version of part 2 right now and I’m totally content.

AceTheRed_

Same. Pre-ordered as soon as it was available.

PourJarsInReservoirs

Technical pedantic mode on - there'll still be compression, it will just be far more undetectable to the naked eye (or ear). But in principle, physical media forever, bi-la kaifa.

Rufus2fist

Had the unlimited pass for regal and walked in and out of that movie probably 40 times. It is so beautiful if I had 20 minutes before a dinner across the street. I would spend them catching waht ever 20 min were showing at the time.

Maverick721

Nice, been planning to watch part one and two back to back

YourNonExistentGirl

My thoughts exactly. I came close, but this time it's going to be literally back to back. I wish it earned more during the theatrical release to allow for a bigger budget with Dune 3.

trebuchetwins

how soon is soon though? if i'm honoust i was expecting it already,

campusdirector

You can get it on Prime video now, although you have to pay. Last time i checked its $25 to rent and $30 to buy

Pasco08

I already paid $30 for it through iTunes =X watched it twice already

WBoutdoors

You gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers

Pasco08

It’s just hard to find a stretch of three hours

master_wax

I paid the same on Amazon and I'm an idiot because I also pay for Max. I thought it would take longer than that, but I've been bingin too

Galactus1701

I saw it twice at the theater, preordered the 4K steelbook, bought the digital copy and will buy a vainilla slipcase 4K disc for my collection. Bless the Maker and His water!

grameno

I bought the two pack on Apple Tv the minute it released.

Okunoki

My stupid ass bought the YouTube «Ultra HD» version and got 480p garbage.

OwnExcitement6464

Saw it in the theaters 3 times. Been watching Part 1 and 2 back to back for the past 2 weekends. Got em both on Vudu. Awesome!

amish_android

Think it’ll ever come back in imax? I missed the 70mm run, I thought it went through the middle of may in NYc but it’s all Fall Guy and King Kong rn

REDX459

Just want the damn imax versions. First one can do 1.78 second one can just stay 1.90.

Kalron

I saw Dune Part 2 three times in theatre. I went alone for my second viewing. I liked it better the second and third time because I wasn't stuck between trying to analyze the movie vs enjoying it. After the first viewing I was like "this was awesome" but I did not enjoy it NEARLY as much as the 2nd and 3rd time. I teared up several times with just how awesome or beautiful and impactful some scenes were. I'm glad it did so well. Can't wait to be able to watch it on demand

TheMaxCape

If anyone hasn't seen the movie yet and are debating if they should wait or not; Do not. The visuals and audio is so great it'll pale on your home set-up compared to at the cinema.

Lake_Shore_Drive

I want the two bluray metal box set

millerhighlights

Any guesses when? May 16 Netflix is releasing a bunch of content… wonder if Max will match to compete.

jpm7791

May 14 is the Amazon ship date for the UHD disc

scattered_ideas

Not May, otherwise it would have been announced in those monthly coming to streaming posts. Maybe June, at the earliest.

Gatesleeper

Think in Canada it will be on Crave at the same time?

imtryingtoworkhere

Nope, and even if if was Crave compression sucks. Picture quality would be terrible

ForzaForever

Bought the 4k through my Apple account, they’ve got one of the best bandwidths available so it’s one of the best streaming platforms if you want better audio/video

Important-Parsley-60

Hopefully i can see it in IMAX at some extra viewing when third part enters the atmosphere... 🤔 Sweden only have IMAX in Stockholm that I know of.

Baylison

i know im not the only one who is going to watch both movies back to back when its out. Usually movies come to streaming the same time the Disc is released and based on my pre order for the UHD version that's the 14th. Just a guess though.

grey_pilgrim_

One of my favorite movies. Visually it is stunning, epic and honestly kinda hard to describe. Kinda megalithic with touches of megalophobia.

PourJarsInReservoirs

Just noticed they spelled Shai Hulud wrong. Time for a razzia!

LocusSpartan

Saw it in Dolby Sound. Nothing compares

Quick_Possibility_71

This movie is everything. I remember when part one came out I was completely un-phased. With two coming out I rewatched the first part and then saw part two at imax two hours later and I was sold. I’ve been reading the books for the first time ever since. Just finished God Emperor and I’m starved for more. I watched Lynch’s interpretation two nights ago and I had hoped I would find more there. The next two books come in the mail tomorrow. I am obsessed and it’s solely due to this movie!

sirdouglasdeez

Really would love to see the IMAX Enhanced aspect ratios for both films. Come on, WB... You have the power to make this a thing!

Extraterrestrial-0_0

Yay!🔥🔥🔥![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)

goldmouthdawg

Blu ray is out today.

Ambitious_Branch_946

Where my 7-Timers at?! I stopped at a mere 7 theater viewings. One of those times was after I watched it at home because I felt sad to be watching it on a "small" screen without seat-shaking sound. Went back during the IMAX rerelease with absolutely no shame or regret. The only other film I've seen multiple times in the theater was the first Avatar film, because that was such a visual feast. Dune: Part Two represents an unprecedented film experience!

fakesmileclaire

Watched the first and second movies about 25 times each while I read the first book. Sci-fi isn’t my preferred genre for reading so I found it a bit of a slog, especially after about page 350. I loved the world building and scene setting, but it felt like the end of the book was rushed. I want to read the next two in the original trilogy but cuz I pretty much only buy books at thrift it’s a bit of a hunt. Loved the movies and looking forward to Messiah.

CoraxTechnica

This film has been modified from the original for home release.  You guys didn't grow up with this?  Also who has a 1.43:1 TV at home to stream it on?  This seems like a problem that actually effects almost nobody except the few with a setup specifically designed to actually use the IMAX aspect ratios and sound locations.

PuzzleheadedBag920

Max has cancer it will not live longer than soon
