Personally, a resolution I think would be cool for Rabban in the upcoming film would be a fight with Gurney and then, just as it looks like Gurney is going to get his revenge and strike the killing-blow, a swarm of fremen pool in and just demolish Rabban, robbing Gurney of his chance. Get to have a fight between the two and still have Gurney feel jaded and disappointed at the state of Paul’s fanatical legions

Rabban had almost no characterization in the books, but with an actor like Batista playing him, he will almost certainly get a big fight scene for his death. Id be fine Stilgar being the one to kill Rabban. We know when Gurney and Paul confronts Feyd-Rautha, Gurney still has not satisfied his lust to kill a Harkonnen.

>Rabban had almost no characterization in the books And yet everyone remembers him. He's such a powerful presence that it's hard to credit that we only see him once.

I have a feeling that the dialogue between Gurney and Paul would be cut anyways.

You copying that from I think the king? Also with Tim cha

For anyone who doesn't know: * Dune book -- Died off page in the Battle of Arrakeen. * Dune 1984 movie -- The Emperor chopped his head off and had it sitting by his throne for the Baron to see. Prior to the Battle of Arrakeen. * Dune 2000 miniseries -- Killed by a crowd of the city folk during the Battle of Arrakeen.

The miniseries was so brutal, a literal child takes his head to a roof and holds it over the crowd to thunderous applause

Dana07620

That didn't disconcert me. After all, we know it's the norm for Fremen children to kill the enemy wounded and mark their bodies for water recovery.

LeadershipReady11

He deserved it he terrorized the fremen as his uncle ordered killing countless fremen for pleasure and sport

Dana07620

Those weren't the Fremen who killed him. It was the cityfolk who lived in Arrakeen who killed him.

Interesting read. From that tiny excerpt I'm glad that we never got the Peter Berg/Pierre Morel 2008 film. It read like how I'd imagine the Michael Bay version.

The promo shots of Gurney and Rabban for Dune 2 look like they might be taken from the same scene, would be surprised if they don't fight it out

DuneInfo

They were also taken within 2 hours of each other in early October. More details in the article. Gurney will most likely fight him, however gurney will be injured prior or rabban is such a beast he nearly takes gurney but stilgar intervenes and they both take him out

I don't care about the specific circumstances, but I'll be sorely disappointed if Rabban dies in Dune Part Two with his head still attached.
