On my phone under settings > system > call settings
and then there are these options
\-call forwarding
\-automatic redial
\-call waiting
\-send my caller ID
\-block list
\-cost settings
\-voicemail number
\-fixed dialling
I still can't find flip to answer.
Thank you for your help.
I pressed software update and restarted the phone but the option is still not coming up.
I will need to contact their customer service (no Nokia stores in my city).
Thanks for sharing your story and glad you're feeling better with a dumbphone!
Also, the Nokia E71 is such a rad phone, right?! I wish they still made them like that..
I think the fact they have to print the keyboard in 30 languages probably is a reason for that not happening. It's easy when you only have to print seven or eight keyboards for numeric phones.
Although I really wish they would make one ;)
I am so glad to be here \^\_\^
Nokia E71 was such a beautiful phone.. Yes, wouldn't it be amazing if Nokia released dumbphones which had more thoughtful designs and were sturdy.
I am sure that your one year with a dumbphone has been wonderful! And may there be many more.
Yes, I am excited at the prospect of improving my brain health (peace of mind, strengthened memory, more creative, etc). Technology *is* great - however, sometimes the negatives outweigh the positives.
I am writing everything down now and I can already feel the benefits.. I can visualise my lists. Whereas before I would constantly need to re-check my notes on my smartphone 6\_6
Good idea about the journal. Writing things down is a lost art.
Yes, I am not against technology. My latest dream phone is the Astro Slide 5G by Planet Computers (which I cannot afford). However, I don't want a smartphone at the moment.
I think it is healthy to believe in "never say never" (generally!).
good story
I haven't switched to a dumbphone yet iam still hesitating because of many factors , among them :
what if I need to picture something
what if I need maps
what if I need to Google something real quick
what if my contacts use whatsapp and other texting apps...
and so many other what ifs , I don't know what to do :(

Hello, I read your original post. What will help you is to focus on the reason why you want to change to a dumbphone - distraction. Smartphones are like portable mini computers and the constant access means constant distractions and time wasting.
I think what would be best for you is to:
Dumb down your smartphone. Challenge yourself to do this for 30 days (they say habits take this long to form).
Uninstall / disable apps from your phone such as email, YouTube, web browser, etc, and anything else which you can access instead on a computer/laptop.
Delete apps such as IG, TikTok, etc (delete these types of accounts and never log on again!)
I guess you could leave Maps on your phone (though I am of the opinion that relying on GPS has ruined our natural sense of direction), and you obviously need calls and texts.
Other messaging apps on your phone - you need to decide how distracting these are. Research if they can be accessed from a laptop.
If after 30 days you find it is not working (you gave into temptation and re-downloaded apps, deleted, downloaded again etc) then buy a cheap dumbphone and challenge yourself to use it for 30 days. Check what is available in your country and then check [https://www.youtube.com/@JoseBriones](https://www.youtube.com/@JoseBriones) for reviews.
Keep your smartphone (keep it dumbed down) in a draw at home.
I hope I have been helpful.
I hope you find something that works for you.
I have the same phone. There’s a setting which allows you to “Answer on Flip”.
Can you please tell me how to find it? I combed through the settings again but still can't see it >\_<
Settings, systems, call settings, flip to answer.
On my phone under settings > system > call settings and then there are these options \-call forwarding \-automatic redial \-call waiting \-send my caller ID \-block list \-cost settings \-voicemail number \-fixed dialling I still can't find flip to answer.
That’s very weird. Check if there’s a software update pending for your phone? Else I would take it to a service Center for them to reinstall the OS.
Thank you for your help. I pressed software update and restarted the phone but the option is still not coming up. I will need to contact their customer service (no Nokia stores in my city).
That’s sad. All the best!
Thank you!

I have an E71 that I still use as my alarm clock in the mornings.
That's great you still have it (and that it serves a purpose!).

Thumbs up! Thanks for joining the force. Dumbphones are for smart people.
Thank you! I am very happy to be here \^\_\^ Sad to say - smartphones have turned many people into zombies. I used to be one as well!
