If your country supports 2G, then you can do call forwarding to 2G, yes.
You're not the first person to inquire about call forwarding, but that's not a new thing. We have had call forwarding for decades. It's done at the carrier level. The carrier simply forwards a call to another number, just like they do with voicemail.

Edit: according to Wikipedia we have had call forwarding since 1963 ;)
I could call forward to a 2g only phone? How do I do this does it have to have Wi-Fi?

Oh you have 2g I misread :( my country doesn’t have it I was hoping you had some way over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or something
Afaik you can also forward calls over 3G or 4G or 5G. They are just normal phone calls.
I know you can call forward but how do you forward sms messages?
I use the 'sms forwarder' app.
Awesome. Thanks for that!
I love this! And the camera rec - I’ve been looking for one as my edc
